How about URLs? If they are counted then it's possible that someone could insert 1x1 pixel images or single character hyperlinks to their posts to make it look as though it's longer than it actually is.
yup, it does count. and url does get counted too btw is it just me or did this thread got tossed around all over the forum? ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

(a little late but whatever) that's some transactions you got there btw what's wrong with the address in your sig? never mind, it looks like an address but it isn't Probably you are right! And you noticed that fact this account is registered on 2012. I cherish this account and would keep it for long term. This is why I decide to stake my address here!
hope you keep that account forever.

newbie staking address? color me surprised holy shit, you registered in 2012. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Why are you surprised? I seldom come here! I thought no one in this thread is prohibiting newbie from staking address here. It should be equal for every one, isn't it? IMO newbie can just make a new account if it got hacked and theymos probably won't bother trying recover accounts with less than 15 activity. so it's pretty pointless if you ask me. accounts registered on 2012 is a different matter, tho. at least in my opinion.

So the insert hyperlink button still appears at the top of the comment box when making a post, but if one types a url - www.yahoo.com - the website address automatically turns into a hyperlink. Seems like the button has become obsolete, should it be removed as a default option from the post menu? Thanks. it's still useful if you want to do thistry quoting me if you're wondering how to do that

I voted we move it. It is more of a ponzi game based on my understanding then gambling. The risks are not as well defined as they are on most respectable gambling services out there that have topics on this forum.
I don't understand. you think it's a ponzi yet you want to move it out from the investor based games section, where ponzi sites belongs? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) IMO it should stay. and I bet stay it will.

Banned users aren't supposed to be allowed to leave trust, are they?
banned users can leave feedbacks, apparently. (not sure if the rules have changed, tho) and I wouldn't worry too much about that feedback, OP. you should see dogie/Quickseller/Vod's

why would you need that when you already know what got leaked?
I know that ip addresses got leaked in general. I have to know the exact ip addresses to tell if the hacker can associate my accounts or not. you can always PM theymos and ask him. that would be easier than what you suggest. tho I'm really not sure if he'll be able to tell exactly which address that got leaked.

Report the pm with the link at the bottom right.
i never received aNY PM regarding Ransome here.. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I believe that comment was meant for XinXan. or SNavy, to be precise

can a pro rate my account? i dont mind to sell it but it would be cool to know how much my account worth is? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) well, according to a pro your account should be worth 0.2 (ish). but I've seen some Full Member account auctions that go a little slow with that amount.. depends on demands, I guess

I have problems when my friends ask me WTF is Bitcoin ?and i have problems to explain it. any tips ?
tell to him, that bitcoin is money that can be moved faster and more simple than any other method existing nowadays, then you show him the wallet and how he can make a transaction i did the same thing with my old parent and they understood it pretty fast Here is how I would describe Bitcoin to someone who hasn't heard of it before Bitcoin is essentially digital money. It's like Paypal without being connected to a bank account. There is no website involved and all transactions are done via the Bitcoin software. Everyone using it can keep a copy of the blockchain, which essentially functions like an internal database of balances. just tell about "the pizza story" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0how would that help simplify things? that story will only give them more questions than answers.

I would like to ask theymos to introduce a field in the profile panel where we could check all the information that got leaked during the hack. I 'm mostly concerned about registration and last ip address used because it could be used to associate alt accounts. Many of us use alt accounts for participating in signature giveaways (people often auto-ignore those who use ads in their sigs), or just to be able to express some thoughts more freely (no one wants an angry mob against him just because he called a scam-coin... scam-coin ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) ). The hacker now has more information about my accounts than me and this makes me feel very uncomfortable. Thank you. Ps. For obvious reasons i'm using a new account for this post. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) why would you need that when you already know what got leaked? On May 22 at 00:56 UTC, an attacker gained root access to the forum's server. He then proceeded to try to acquire a dump of the forum's database before I noticed this at around 1:08 and shut down the server. In the intervening time, it seems that he was able to collect some or all of the "members" table. You should assume that the following information about your account was leaked: - Email address - Password hash (see below) - Last-used IP address and registration IP address - Secret question and a basic (not brute-force-resistant) hash of your secret answer - Various settings
full post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1067985.msg11445725#msg11445725change everything and you're as good as new. no need to change your email address if it is secure enough and if you don't mind spams. but change it anyway if you want to be sure

Here's the deal.
I have $1,000,000,000 I don't need. But I need someone dead. You will NOT be caught. The person you kill you will never know. They live on the other side of the planet. You will never know a thing about them. Whether they were an upstanding citizen, child molester or serial rapist. You won't even know if they really died.
But I'm going to give you a black remote control with a small red button.
When you press that button, that person will die, and you will get the $1,000,000,000 cash.
Will you press the button?
I'd be lying if I said I'm not tempted. but, hypothetically, if I was going to do that, I'm going to need a proof that you own that much money. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) btw, is politics/society the right section for this?
