This game is really an eye opener for Pakistan team. Today's game clearly indicate that Pakistan had a terrible batting lineup. There is 120 runs partnership between Rizwan and Saud then there is 64 runs partnership between Shadab and Nawaz. Due to these two partnership Pakistan was able to score 286 runs. Vikramjit Singh and Colin Ackermann played well from Netherlands side but were not able to get good support from other end. In the end, Pakistan will be happy for not losing 2 valuable points.
Once again, the problem with less experienced sides such as the Netherlands is that they buckle under pressure. If they had utilized the opportunity, then they could have got Pakistan bowled out for 220-230. Pakistan were at 188/6 at one point. But the Dutch bowlers allowed them to add close to 100 runs after that, as lower order batsmen such as Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan made crucial contributions. And the Dutch captain also made a lot of mistakes, as he didn't utilized two of this best bowlers during the depth overs - Logan van Beek and Paul van Meekeren.

Pakistan team in deep trouble. They have lost 6 wickets so far and net score is just 188. It looks like that Pakistan won't be able to play there full 50 overs quota today. Saud Shakeel and Rizwan are the top scorer with 68 runs each. This is not a good start of the tournament from Pakistani side, with this batting they won't be able to progress much further in the tournament.
They have made good recovery. Shadab Khan and Shadab Khan have added 45 runs for the 7th wicket and Pakistan are now 233/6. It looks as if they will end up with a total of somewhere around 320 (they have 9 overs remaining). But Pakistan should be careful not to lose another wicket. Bas de Leede will be bowling 5 of the remaining overs and he is quite capable of taking wickets during depth overs. And if they lose another wicket, then they are down to the tail, with Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf to come next.

Netherlands won the toss and choose to bowl. The wicket again looking good for the bowlers. Van Beek got the first wicket of Fakar Zaman, his bad form continues. He couldn't anticipated the slower ball. Intial stage of the match, Babar is on the field and he is in good form. Pakistan are the favourite to win this match. One thing that is again bothering me is why the stadium is empty. I can hardly see any crowd in the stadium.
Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan are now rebuilding the innings after the Dutch bowlers reduced them to 38/3. The 4th wicket partnership has added 40 runs till now, and they have scored at brisk pace. The Pakistani batsmen are handling the Dutch spinners with ease. Bas de Leede has bowled just one over till now. Pakistan should be wary of him (and also about Logan van Beek), since the Indian pitches can suit medium pacers who generate variable bounce. Also, it will be interesting to watch Roelof van der Merwe bowl, who is their most experienced player in this match.

Amazing performance from Afghanistan. Now they are assured of either a gold or a silver medal. Pakistan sent a second-string side to Asian Games, but the situation with Afghanistan wasn't that better either. Apart from a few players such as Noor Ali Zadran, Mohammad Shahzad and Gulbadin Naib, they also had an inexperienced squad. This is more like a revenge for Afghanistan, for the defeats they suffered against Pakistan during the 2022 and 2023 editions of the Asia Cup. Anyway, the final match will be played tomorrow, between India and Afghanistan.

What single language is it that connects Mexico so closely with the USA and Canada?
I think all the associations, but first and foremost the FIFA, have realized that no matter how they structure these tournaments, the stadiums will be sold out no matter what and how they host the World Cups. That is indeed what counts for them. Sold out stadiums, big involvement of the global audience to drive up broadcasting revenue. I don't really have an opinion on that, but maybe one of the reasons also is that this gives the chance to smaller countries to also host a small part of the World Cup while otherwise they would have never gotten a chance. Obviously not aware of the details, but there are pros and cons I think.
Well.. Silberman was probably implying that almost everyone in Mexico can understand English. That was not the case when the world cup was held in Brazil (2014) or Russia (2018). Anyway, leave the language apart. The main issue here is travel. 2026 edition will be a great torture, as some of the fans need to travel thousands of miles to watch the matches of their favorite team. But then, 2030 is at an entirely different level. Who will be happy, if they are being made to travel from Uruguay or Argentina to Morocco? This is just plain crazy.

Looks ridiculously shameful! Having said that spectators did turn up in the second inning tho and it was alright looking crowd.
Non-Indian match, Too much heat, a working day and last but not least fine example of epic mismanagement from the BCCI. Only these bunch of nutjobs were serious from the start and had some sort of planning. Lol GCA must be trolling or smoking some high quality stuff.
In short, they made a big mistake by awarding GCA opening match but that's how BCCI works in general. You can't expect 140K people to turn up when the home team is not playing.
I don't understand the scheduling. First of all, I would have expected the hosts (India) to play against the defending champions (England) in the opening match. And secondly, the opening match should ideally be scheduled on weekend. None of this was followed and in the end we got such a sparse crowd. I have posted this a few times. I think that the BCCI is not that serious about hosting the world cup. Even the schedule was released a few days before the opening match and some of the teams are not happy with the fact that they need to move from one end of the country to the other every week.

Well.. I hope that she learns from her mistake. These sort of issues arise when people who are new to gambling indulge in it, without learning about the rules and possible consequences. A lot of people start like this. Some of them are scarred with the initial experience and never venture again. Some others learn from their mistakes and become more responsible for their actions. And then there is the last category, who lose their mental balance and start chasing after the losses. And we all know which group will end up in big trouble.

Younger players like Kylian Mbappé and Erling Håland believe that moving to the Saudi Professional League can have a negative impact on their future prospects. So it is mostly experienced players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar who have moved to SPL till now. But that may change in the future. If the Saudi Professional League becomes one of the most popular leagues in the world, and if the matches are watched by global audience, then the younger players maybe more receptive towards offers from the SPL.
Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland give European football renewed optimism of replacing great players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi. Moving to the Saudi Pro League will have a detrimental impact on their football careers because they will be omitted from lists of vast honors such as the Ballon d'Or and winning a significant European title. Though SPL has adequate monetary revenue to provide value for their campaign, it's not all about the huge reimbursement offered; fans and reputation should also be considered. Players who moved to the SPL are more seasoned and experienced players who would earn an extensive amount of money in their last years before retiring. Mbappé is just 24-years old, while Håland is 23. So it is quite understandable if they give preference to career growth instead of monetary reward at this point. That said, there is no guarantee that this dominance of European leagues will continue in the long term. Leagues outside Europe (not just Saudi Professional League, but also other leagues such as Major League Soccer as well) are offering better working conditions and benefits and in the long run it is going to be difficult for these European leagues to retain their players.

Betting Odds
Pakistan - 1.05 Newzealand - 10
Who will win today? Any guess? Typo, right? It should be Netherlands instead of New Zealand. And I agree with the odds. Even with the addition of county players, Netherlands is 1-2 levels below Pakistan. And then sub-continental conditions should favor Pakistan more. Overall, the odds look accurate for me. I would expect a good fight from Netherlands, but definitely an upset is not in the cards. For the Dutch batsmen, it is going to be extremely difficult to face the raw pace of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim and Hasan Ali. At this point, the only negative with Pakistan is their spin bowling.

Pakistan is having the upper hand in the second semi-final so far. They have made 49/2 after 6.3 overs. Rohail Nazir just got out to Fareed Ahmad, but Omair Yousuf is still there with an unbeaten 23. The run-rate is close to 8 per over, which looks OK given the ground conditions. This is the same pitch where Bangladesh got bowled out for just 96 runs a few hours ago. And Pakistan has a strong middle and lower order for this match. Qasim Akram, Khushdil Shah and Asif Ali are yet to bat and they also have Arafat Minhas down the order.

ICC World CupSo today is the second match of ICC world cup between Pakistan vs Netherlands. In the first match New Zealand performance was incredible. And now we have the second match. And I hope that Pakistan will win today match. Pakistan will perform well in today match. But we can't underestimate the Netherlands team too. So let's see what will happen? My best wishes with Pakistan. It is going to be tough on Netherlands. They haven't played an ODI against a full member team, ever since the world cup qualifiers in June. They played two warmup matches against one of the first-class teams (Karnataka) and lost both the matches. And then they had a warmup against Australia, where the top order batsmen were dismissed cheaply by Mitchell Starc and company. BTW, they had a few close matches against Pakistan in recent times. Last year, they played against Pakistan for a 3-match ODI series. Pakistan won all the matches, but two of them were really close.

Rachin Ravindra Scored Century 123* on World Cup debut and a Youngest NewZealand player to score a century in the ODI World Cup. Third youngest player to score a Century in the ODI World Cup. Ravindra took one wicket and made Fastest ODI World Cup hundred New Zealand and Player of the Match on his debut world cup match. In this match England hits 26 boundaries while New Zealand hots 38 boundaries. NewZealand win the match and the boundary count as well. Ravindra well Played young man have a Great Future
Yeah.. good to see that finally he has started to deliver. The New Zealand management has been patient with him and finally he has proven them right. If he can improve his bowling as well, then he can be one of the crucial players for New Zealand in the role of spin-bowling allrounders. Since Mitchell Santner is their first-choice spinner, this would mean that Ish Sodhi may find himself out of the playing XI. And with Matt Henry and Trent Boult performing well, I don't think that the Kiwi management will be in favor of including any additional spinner.

Guess there is only one stand and the capacity hardly looks more than 300 but still, it's good.
Tilak and Gaikward made it look way too easy here, the pitch was looking spicy for Bangladesh. Anyway Silver medal is loading up, hope we get the gold. 100 medal mark needs to be breached.
India won with more than half of the overs and 9 wickets to spare. That tells a lot about the gap in quality between these two sides, as well as that between India and the remaining teams. Looking at the trend, in all probability the final match will also be one-sided. The second semi-final will start in some time, between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistan has better chances to qualify for the final, but I would not take Afghanistan lightly. They managed to defeat Sri Lanka in the quarter-finals, and do have some experienced players like Gulbadin Naib, Mohammad Shahzad and Karim Janat.

The pitch is looking tricky or maybe Bongs are playing badly, whatever the reason, the Indians are bossing the game atm. I'll still hold my judgment over the result tho but yeah this 2nd string team is strong, especially the batting lineup. The bowling lineup is a bit weak but they can still compete against top teams.
True and I've said that their batting is improving drastically. In the Asia Cup too, they batted well against India so it can't be a fluke.
Bangladesh is inching towards the 100-mark, and they are at 81/8 after 17 overs. Shahbaz Ahmed conceded 10 runs in the 17th over, but in the last ball he picked up the wicket of Rakibul Hasan. Anyway, it doesn't matter whether Bongs are able to make 100 or not. India will have an easy win, as they have quality batsmen such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma. BTW, I am surprised by the large number of Chinese people who have come to watch the match. Crowd reaction indicates that they have hardly any idea about what is going on.

Haaland is a very important player for Norway, but football is not a game played with just one person. All 11 players need to be important and play well. In basketball, sometimes one player can turn the match around on his own, but it is impossible to see this in football. It will require efforts from other teammates as well as Haaland. There is no other chance for Norway. Teams who behave like one-man army can be very effective at times. We have seen examples multiple times in the past. Cristiano Ronaldo - Portugal, Goran Pandeev - North Macedonia, Gareth Bale - Wales and Mohammad Salah - Egypt are recent examples. And in case of Norway, they do have some young players who can support Håland, such as Martin Ødegaard. The issue with Norway doesn't lie in being a one-man army. Rather than that, their real issue is in having a very weak defense and poor team bonding.

ICC released numbers are 47-50k attendance for today's match. In 95% of cricket stadiums it's considered a packed house and successful marketing but in this case, it isn't because of the sheer size of the stadium, here ICC and BCCI deserve the blame. They should have organized this fixture on smaller ground. I also don't understand why they didn't opt for India vs X team for an opening game.
Hyderabad ground capacity is not much so even a 20k crowd will look alright for non India match.
If the attendance was actually 47k (out of that at least 2/3rd would be from complementary passes), then BCCI should be happy about it. And why should the match be played at a smaller stadium? This match was allotted to the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) and it was their decision to host the match in this stadium. I am not sure whether they have any other international stadiums within their borders. Meanwhile GCA claims that yesterday's match was the best attended opening match for any world cup (I am not sure though).

So far so good for the Indians in the Semis. Bowlers are keeping things tight and the spin duo trying to spin a web around the Bongs, some balls of Washington Sunder are turning Square.
I wonder what would happen in the second inning? If Pitch keeps behaving like that and manages to deteriorate more then things could become spicy but first Bongs needs to put some runs on the board. Both India and Bangladesh have sent second string squads. But the difference is that a second-string Indian squad is still capable of defeating the top teams in the world, while that from Bangladesh can't even compete against associate nations (we saw that during the quarter-final between Malaysia and Bongs). Right now, Bangladesh is struggling at 36/4 after 8 overs. And I will be really surprised if they make a three-digit total. BTW, massive respect for the Nepal team, for posting a total of 179 against India (during the quarter-finals).

Is a fucking joke man this 2030 world cup, i hope this doesnt ended up being that way, two continents distant 14.000 km one from another. 6 countries, no sense, bring back normal world cups in one country and that country have to be a football country, not a shit one.
They've got a reason for it. As a centenary celebration the starting three matches being played in their own countries doesn't gonna affect anything. From the fourth match onwards everything used to be functional same as what is being planned for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. People who prefer to watch the complete tournament reaching the football ground, it would be difficult. However many people will get opportunity to watch football matches which isn't an easy thing. Just think it in that way, not everyone able to travel due to the expense, and those people enjoy watching it played on their home countries. These are just stupid excuses. If they want the centenary celebration, then what prevents them from holding a mini-world cup in the South American nations? Asking the fans to travel 3 continents just to watch the games is outright crazy. Think about the fans. They don't deserve any of this shit. And it is not just the effort and money that is required for the travel. They need to apply for visas, and it is going to take a lot of work. My guess is that nowadays FIFA cares only about the TV audience, and not about the actual fans who travel to watch the matches on stadiums.

New Zealand had decided to show off their revenge to the England in the first match itself. It was the biggest reason for the England to bowl first.Since the ground favour for the batting, the Root and Butler made his good strike today. The New Zealand made the complete target in 36.2 overs and made the England to feel guilty on the first game itself. We all know the game of Conway was unique in the New Zealand team, but no one thought the Rachin will made his hundred in the game against the England and occupy the heart of cricket fans all around the world.
Well.. this match was special. It was more like payback for the stolen match in 2019 (world cup final between England and New Zealand). Anyway, this edition of the world cup got the best possible start. No one actually expected New Zealand to win, especially after it was known that Tim Southee and Kane Williamson will not be playing due to injury. It came as a surprise that Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra were able to put up an unbeaten 273 run partnership for the 2nd wicket, and that too at almost 8 runs per over.

Yes, the issue of age will reduce the performance of players. This is entirely correct. But in this tournament, with their current form, they are finally outperforming the young players. They are completely superior to young players. Because this tournament is not highly competitive, their talent and experience can beat the health of unknown young players in Saudi Arabia. If the scenario is that Haaland, Mbappé, or Osimhen come to this tournament, I agree that the team with many young players will have good results. Let's take a typical example: Older players are always on the list of top scorers in this tournament.
Yeah that's why the level of European players is different from other players I mean European players always have better quality even though they are old players The impact of competition is so high and tight in the European League makes the players more active and aggressive so that when playing in new competitions like in Asia they can still compete with old age, as you said 4 players on the top score list are old players or European players but fortunately there are still other local players.
