They've got a reason for it. As a centenary celebration the starting three matches being played in their own countries doesn't gonna affect anything. From the fourth match onwards everything used to be functional same as what is being planned for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. People who prefer to watch the complete tournament reaching the football ground, it would be difficult. However many people will get opportunity to watch football matches which isn't an easy thing. Just think it in that way, not everyone able to travel due to the expense, and those people enjoy watching it played on their home countries.

If many here are already thinking it's bad that the World Cup will be played in 3 countries, take a look at this news that just came out:

The 2030 World Cup will be played in 3 continents and 6 countries

A brief summary: Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay (South America) will play the first matches of each team in their own country, to celebrate the centenary of the World Cup
After that, the World Cup will be played "normally" in 3 countries: Portugal, Spain and Morocco (Europe and Africa).

It was FIFA's way of holding the World Cup where it prefers, while still paying tribute to the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup

So, what do you think? A good way for FIFA to please everyone?

It is not going to please those who had intentions to attend to that World Cup and had a limited budget for airplane tickets and reservations.
Honestly, I am not sure it is a good idea to host such a huge event, it would create some inconvenients, like the difference of time for both the players and the fans who want to watch the matches.

It is a clear example of globalization, if you asked me, how technology, communications and infrastructure is getting us closer to each other as time passes. That is a good or bad thing, depending whom you ask.

I still don't know why they are doing this every time, in 2026 FIFA let three countries host the World Cup and now it seems we're going to have many more hosts for the next World Cup which is a little bit weird.
Maybe FIFA is trying to make the World Cup decentred and that's why they want to have different hosts. But I think the best thing they could do was to wait and see the feedback in 2026 and then make the decision to make other countries host the World Cup.

They are either try to be more fair and have more countries to enjoy a piece of the World Cup, or they are trying to make it an event as exclusive as possible for the middle class soccer fan.

It is was hard to afford before now when we are used to have only one host, I cannot even imagine how costly it will be when the average fan who wished to enjoy the full event to pay for several airplane tickets, hotels and even visas in the case of those who live in a country which passport does not offer many options for visa-free destinations.

Honestly, those TV channels and stream hosts which would pay for the broadcast rights would be largely benefited from how expensive this is going to become.

The main issue here is travel. 2026 edition will be a great torture, as some of the fans need to travel thousands of miles to watch the matches of their favorite team. But then, 2030 is at an entirely different level. Who will be happy, if they are being made to travel from Uruguay or Argentina to Morocco? This is just plain crazy.

According to the data I could find, which is outdated but it was the best I got, 12.9% of the Mexican population can speak English, all of them as a second language, so you could literally grab a few random people on the street and you will soon find someone which could speak English, and taking into account the distribution of those speakers is not random and they are concentrated on big cities, then it should be even easier for a person which just speaks English to get by even without knowing a single word of Spanish.

I don't know about Brazil, but I know that about one third in Russia is proficient in English and I would confidently say that in Russia there is more English proficiency than in both countries you mentioned, Brazil and Mexico. This is a source citing a test, but I also read across a couple of other sources. Since I know some Russians very well, I can tell from what they told me and English is quite well known. The reason is that Spanish or Portuguese is so widespread that these people are less dependent on learning additional languages. But no worries, this is not to educate or insult anyone here. It was a little interesting discourse either way. But language, as you said, shouldn't really matter. It is more about distances and political repression like in Qatar. Those are the things that we as consumers or visitors should be concerned about.

Language is really no point here and I am sure that it is something which could easily be taken care of by setting up info points for tourists and so on and so forth. 2026 world cup is supposed to be held by three nations and that is sure but I read some news about 2030 world cup being held where many claim that 2030 world cup will be held by six nations. If it is so difficult for fans to travel to three countries, how can fans attend the 2030 World Cup in six countries where the games are scheduled to be held in several sub-continents including Latin America and Asia. If FIFA has taken such a decision then it is very crazy. Also, the World Cup can be organized in the country, but how FIFA wants to organize some matches in Europe, some matches in Latin America and some matches in Asia. A World Cup tournament should be organized by any country keeping in mind the audience.

I don't think if understanding the English language can be ever a problem in Mexico or any other country hosting the World Cup.
We know there are many countries where they prefer to learn another language like French or German instead of English, also The World Cup visitors who come to Mexico will usually use a tour guide who can translate everything they want.
Also in the last World Cup, we had many other countries they didn't know English language.

That's the point here. Messi and Ronaldo would probably still be able to make a difference at the World Cup 2026. They may not take the ball and dribble across the whole field just on their own and then score, but Messi's free kick and passing precision is unprecedented and he would still be able to either score or assist in many game situations. Ronaldo is probably hardly losing any of his physical strength until then. Maybe just a few %, but he would still be quick and fit enough to be a center forward who understands how and where to strike during a game. In my opinion, these three matches will be watched by the local population. The fans who will be at the World Cup probably won't watch these games, as there will only be 3 matches, with Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay kicking off.
I don't think people from other countries will go to South America first and then to Europe to watch the games.
So consider it just that, that it's an opportunity for local fans to watch a match

The Chilean federation was very unhappy with this choice, leaving Chile aside.
The explanations would be:
1 - The other official bid for the cup was from 3 countries, Portugal Spain and Morocco, so they wanted to do the same, with 3 countries.
2 - Uruguay hosted the 2030 World Cup, Argentina is the current champion and Paraguay is the headquarters of Conmebol, so Chile would be the weakest country politically speaking

I would guess that not all fans would travel all nations, yes the distance is HUGE, but I do not think that many people would travel to all three of the places and just have something like that. USA will be the one that people visit the most and I am assuming that they are going to be crowding the cities there.

USA doesn't have much of a football culture, even though they have been getting better, it's still not a big football nation, but they do have some insane stadiums, I am not sure if football teams will play on their own stadiums, or would they reconsider about some college football (not "soccer" American football for them) because there are 70k+ seat stadiums in that regard. All in all I am sure that it will be fine.

When I first saw the News of the world cup been hosted in three countries I loved the idea initially but then thinking about the cost got my emotions down for a while as when considered it will stand as a limitation to many who may likely not be able to afford the fares to Various countries to see this game and their up keeps through out their stay in various countries especially if they happen to be afan to a team who will play in all three countries.

African countries are going to be affected the most as some of the countries in Africa do not have visas that permit multiple locations at once, and some already had travel bans from the united state so they may have to travel to another country and get a visa from there which will be more expenses that will be incured by the fans .

Except if FIFA would make provisions for a special visa for the purpose of the world cup, this visa can be used to any of the three countries from any destination and after the world cup it stands invalid, I think this will help go a long way for countries who may have issues with getting multiple visas all they will have to boder over will be purchasing tickets. Tarifs for tv streaming would definitely be expensive because having to streem from three countries would definitely be expensive and cause the increment in the price to purchase broadcasting right and this will affect local tariffs

Surely letting Messi play in the next World Cup will not be good for Argentine and their team because even if we consider Messi can have a good performance in when he is a 39 year old palyer, but still, Argentine should give more space to the younger players and let them play to see better performance from them in the next years.

In the end, it will depend on whether Messi wants to play or not. I am 80% sure that he will pull out of the tournament and may retire from active football much before 2026. Right now he has a deal with one of the MLS clubs and I am not sure whether he will extend that deal or not. In case he doesn't retire by then, the Argentine coach will be in a lot of dilemma. If he prefers some of the younger player ahead of Messi, and if that player doesn't perform well, then he will be in a lot of trouble. We all know what happened to Fernando Santos after Qatar 2022.
