Whats going on with this statistic?

Current round duration:   17:24:29
does that mean i am only going to get my estimate reward for this many hours of mining

Estimated reward: Estimated reward for current round 0.00472682 BTC

is that .004 for 17 and still going hours of hashing?

whats going on here at slushes tonight?

That is all you will get IF AND WHEN A BLOCK IS FOUND.  It would be much less than that if you were on GHash because of more miners to share with.  However, they have been finding blocks the last 5 hours that I left Slush.  Working on the 6th hour now.

how about this bad luck streak just ends now ...... lets snap off a decent 7 block day k alright night Cool

I went over to GHash when we were in our 11th hour and made a little thus far [Payments high-lighted in red].  I got tired of waiting.

However, changing from one to the other often can hurt you more than help you.  Probably best to stay with one several days before going to another if one chooses to hop from one to the other.

I edited my edit to say they are both approximately the same after factoring in the alt-coin.

EDIT:  HAD TO MAKE A CORRECTION ON AN ERROR TO GHASH MATH, WHICH SEE:

anyone done a 24hr pool comparison earnings chart with excel like how much is made in a 24 hr period? I did one with slush versus ghash and well i cant figure out the data i am getting from slushes pool for example

Now today I am back home mining at slushs but its been oh the whole day and says pending reward the usual .004* its this a 24hr block we are mining on right now? Seems like i have been mining the same one all day anyone else seeing this?

24 hours is not enough time for the whole picture.  Look at this...

I know they have lower pay outs.  I'm not trying to say their pool is better.  I know it takes approximately 7.5 to 8.0 blocks for every one of ours.  to be the same payout.  I know they find approximately 36.4 blocks each day on average from what I've seen since Sept. 22nd.  This puts them above 100 % Luck since September 22, 2014.  I saw 48 blocks one day and 45 blocks on another day.  I've seen 31 blocks on another, minus orphan blocks.

If you divide 36.4 blocks [each day average] by 8.0 you get 4.5 of OUR blocks found on Slush.

Slush is averaging right at 8 PH/s TOTAL hashing power.  At present difficulty, that is approximately 5 hours 10 minutes time for each block found.  To be at 100% Luck for the week [while maintaining a consistent 8 PH/s] we would need to find [24 hours divided by 5.16666667 hours] = 4.64516129 blocks each day during that week.  Again, that's to maintain 100% Luck.

[Slush] 4.64516129 blocks x .01452471 average shares with 4.67 TH/s = 0.06746962 BTC average each day.  That would be 2.02408860 BTC in 30 days (1 month).

GHash is averaging right at 60 PH/s TOTAL hashing power.  At present difficulty, that is approximately 41 minutes 21 seconds for each block found.  To be at 100% Luck for the week [while maintaining a consistent 60 PH/s] they would need to find [24 hours divided by .68775 hours] = 34.8964013 blocks each day during that week.  Again, that's to maintain 100% Luck.

EDIT:  CORRECTION MADE TO GHASH ON AVERAGE SHARES, WHICH CHANGES ALL NUMBERS

[GHash] 34.8964013 blocks x .00191766 average shares with 4.67 TH/s = 0.06691943 BTC average each day.  That would be 2.00758299 BTC in 30 days (1 month).  ALSO, one also gets bonus alt coins as well.  Such as NMC and others.  It's a bonus all the way.  Not sure how well those coins are doing and their value related to BTC.  Haven't really looked into THAT part of it deep enough yet.

So, NO, according to the math, GHash pays better in BTC in my opinion AS LONG AS it maintains 100% luck.  I'm convinced to mine on GHash for now.  My opinion may change after a few days.  We'll see...

I wasn't trying to cut down slush at all when I said, "GHash found 12 blocks in less than an hour."  Not at all!  I was just pointing out they were VERY LUCKY during THAT hour.

They took 4 hours to find one block today and 2 hours a couple of other times.

Again, I was only pointing out how lucky they got during a one hour period.

David

how is 2.00758299 BTC in 30 days [Ghash], better than 2.02408860 BTC in 30 days [Slush]  ?

I stand corrected.  Not much sleep.  They are more than likely the same when you add on the alt coin.  So, one is just as good as the other.  I suppose one should just play the pool they feel will be luckier for that day, week, month or year.

I suppose we wake up and say, "Which pool will be luckiest today?"

anyone done a 24hr pool comparison earnings chart with excel like how much is made in a 24 hr period?

However, one also gets bonus alt coins as well.  Such as NMC and others.  Does that make up the difference?  Suppose it depends on how well those coins are doing and their value related to BTC.  Maybe...  Haven't really looked into THAT part of it deep enough yet.

So, YES, Slush pays better in BTC in my opinion AS LONG AS it maintains 100% luck.  I'm convinced to mine on Slush.  My opinion, which everyone is entitled to.

Does anyone know if a transaction from Blockchain.inf will time out after multiple days I sent a transaction and I have no idea why but it posted with no miners fee's went in and looked and my fee payout was still set to normal I then tried to resend a transaction to same person like 6 hours later this one showed miner fee's both have been there for 3 days no confirmations both show 0% network propagation I have received multi transactions in I just cant send any out until those 2 clear, does anyone know how to make them reset I tried to manually post the hex to the network using coinb.in and the blockchain.inf sites but both error-ed out
An answer for anyone who wants it in the future 72 hours after not confirming Blockchain.inf refunded btc to wallet and automatically canceled transactions. So I got my Btc back yay!!! Kiss

That is a person's opinion.  Simply put.

I also know of someone else who said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement."

Also, look at the content.  Does it look like I was shouting AT someone based on the CONTENT?

In fact, I actually mentioned we cannot see each others face or disposition to LET THEM KNOW I was not angry or ANYTHING LIKE THAT while using all caps.

If you think I'm shouting now when I use caps, it sounds like you are being a little picky, kkurtmann.  Just being honest!  I've already told you I use caps for EMPHASIS not shouting.

I don't see a problem with using caps if I have already given someone the heads up.

It is rude thats all we are saying.  And its not a personal opinion its the consensus of the internet.

JT

I'm a teacher.  I teach telephone technicians how to use their meter to identify and locate troubles.  Have been since July 1997.  I use CAPS all the time went I want to EMPHASIZE something.  It's a habit...

All I have to say is, READ the content and judge for yourself to see if I'm shouting at someone.  That's all.

Why be so picky?

Just read the content or ignore it.  It's your choice.

I'm not angry right now.  I'm as calm as can be.  If you want to single me out for what ever reason.  That's fine.  It will not bother me.  I honestly see nothing wrong with using caps for EMPHASIS.

Everyone is entitled to opinion as long as that opinion does not affect ones LIFE, LIBERTY (FREEDOM) or PROPERTY!

Isn't FREEDOM grand?

Have you not watched the news very much lately on line?

There is a BIG STORM BREWING for a lot of BIG PLAYERS to buy into BTC in anticipation for different things I'm not willing to mention for the sake of the bet.  Also, for the sake of keeping others from mining or increasing their hashing power once they see how much BTC will be going up.  It's going to the moon very soon.  Seriously!

It has gone from $300.00 to $377.00 since Sunday evening!

I read a lot of news and a LOT of chat from very smart speculators in the BTC game.

A SERIOUS STORM IS BREWING!!!

I KNOW WE WILL BE AT LEAST $470 BY END OF THANKSGIVING BUT I'M OBVIOUSLY BETTING ON IT BEING $510.00.

WE BOTH WIN EITHER WAY FROM OUR MINING FARMS.  THAT'S THE WAY I SEE IT...

ALSO, PLEASE DON'T THINK WE ARE ARGUING OR GETTING INTO A HEATED DISCUSSION.  WE CANNOT SEE EACH OTHERS FACE OR DISPOSITION.  THIS IS A GENTLEMAN'S BET BETWEEN RESPECTFUL INDIVIDUALS.

I PLAY TEXAS NO LIMIT HOLDEM QUITE A BIT.  IT TOO IS A GENTLEMAN'S GAME...

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

srsly do you not notice your capslock on b4 you post?

Dude, just because caps are used does not mean I'm shouting.  I have yet to shout at anyone on here for any reason.  I only use caps for emphasis.

^^^^ - ckolivas posted an updated cgminer today that tries to address the S4 issue(s) with low diffs (also works a treat with the S3+)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671189.msg9134744#msg9134744

Please tell me how to update my S3+ miners.

Is it under "System" then "Software" then "Actions" after logging into the miner?

If that is where you go, what do I do after that?

I am not sure what you mean by updating your S3+, however, if you are refering to the latest cgminer, then you should SSH into the S3 and login then enter these commands: (press enter after each line)

cd /usr/bin
mv cgminer cgminer.bak
wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s3/4.6.1-141009/cgminer
chmod +x cgminer
reboot

Okay, I have MacBook Pro's and Mac Pro.  I do have windows installed via parallels.  That would be the only way to have cgminer on my computer.  So, no, I'm not familiar with that at all.

I'm NEW to mining [September 22,2014] and have no knowledge of how to use cgminer.  So, it's obvious I'm using my S3's "stand alone" without going through my computers via cgminer before connecting to a pool.  At least that's the way it sounds like you are doing it with cgminer.

Ck told me cgminer was built into the S3's one day [Or maybe I misunderstood].  So, I assumed I could do this firmware update in the miner itself.

Please pardon the misunderstanding.

Thank you for your reply.
Correct Cgminer is in the s3 however it's an outdated version you do not run it on your pc however with the program PUTTY you log into s3 in a terminal style interface all black screen etc so you open putty put in the ip of the ant at screen enter root for user hit enter then your password and enter then follow steps **note while typing your password nothing shows on screen** If you are not comfortable with command line entries you may not want to do this also because you have 10 ants you need to do each one independently

I use "Terminal" occasional on my Mac OS.  However, not sure if I'm needing to do what you suggest with my Batch 8's as you have suggested.  I might do it later, in a couple of months, or especially if they stop mining for whatever reason.

Because there is a problem with the S4's never getting up to anywhere near their 2TH capability on a pool unless that pool lets them set the minimum difficulty to 2048.  I don't pretend to understand it... something about an underpowered controller board and a death spiral dance it does with vardiff.  But the the upshot is I can't point my S4 at slush's pool unless they bring back some way of specifying my per-worker minimum difficulty setting :-(

And I just had a very sad few days at BTC Guild... now i have to try GHash -- I would just like to keep ALL my terahashes here at the Slushiest Pool of Them All :-)

I'm still wanting to get the S4's very soon.  I would rather keep them here on Slush myself.  However, if I have to point them at another pool and keep my S3's here, I will do it.  It's a shame if that's the case... really is!

Seems like I heard rumors of a NEW LOOK to the home page, statistics page, etc. coming in January.  Makes me wonder if Slush will enable the ability to adjust the diff if the user chooses too when the NEW LOOK comes in January?
