If you offer to provide an escrow service or sig campaign management for free for a short time to prove your trustworthiness it could open a few doors to perhaps paid work in the future.
There are a number of trustworthy people who do the above so if you offer your services for free for maybe a month or two to prove yourself you might push yourself ahead of more established members in the battle for work which would give you a step towards getting paid for it in the future.

I thought about it (you can see that in my OP), but I believed I'd hit the "you do not have any history of trading on here" wall. Thanks - will certainly make use of your suggestion.

~
I did not say I am unable to join a signature campaign; in fact, I think it's quite obvious that I already am part of one. I'm willing to do something other than being part of sig campaigns. Trading and gambling are not on my cards; they both involve me risking my BTC and that is not what I'm willing to do; otherwise, I'd just start trading with members on here and gain some trust from it.

What skills do you have? What do you do IRL? (not asking to dox yourself here LOL, just asking what you're good at). Can that kind of work be done remotely/anonymously?
I unfortunately really don't have a skill that I can work it remotely/anonymously besides writing and doing some Bitcoin-related things I've mentioned (hence I have considered so far only what I've posted in the OP).

~
Thanks, will keep this in mind. Sometimes things seem way more complicated than they truly are. Will possibly give free escrowing a try. Smiley

~
At this point it's not necessarily getting paid in BTC, although this is a period I was planning to invest everything in it and now I have $0 income (besides the sig campaign) thanks to the lockdown. Cheesy

As I said in the OP, free escrowing is an option I've thought about so it's not me going all-in for the money. The thing is, when working I like knowing there's communication with my customers/readers to some extent: receiving comments on articles, having to communicate with campaign participants, keeping in touch with the parties involved in an escrow. Smiley

By "what can I really do for BTC?" I was more referring to doing a job and getting paid in BTC for it, because that's the ideal situation but starting off from 0 is obviously an option and the one I'm +80% aiming for.

As for other things and regarding reputation and trust, no one is really born with one, you just have to earn them. You can also sell things and accept BTC, actually, you can do whatever you want and whatever you are doing in "real life" and accept BTC. There are no limits, you know...
Thank you, will keep in mind everything you've said. I honestly think the thread looks crap too (I have a stupid habit of writing walls of text) but had no idea how to improve it Cheesy

Why is this in meta anyway?
I honestly have absolutely no idea where this thread's place is.

~
Thanks. Moving the thread as soon as I post this reply. Will read the thread you've linked Smiley
2682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN LOST BITCOIN LAUNDRY on: April 05, 2020, 02:02:27 PM
So I'm guessing this 6.2BTC you're talking about must be the following:
Code:
34AVLq5TikD91aVPdhYo8Z5c8KURGQioHM -- 1.70000000 BTC
33qpdcsJtgtrJjNitiRZPKBxchC7JQNLNb -- 2.50000000 BTC
32MFcs6p4kLupRdS4iYroYkRD5zyW6r1oj -- 2.00000000 BTC
=============================TOTAL====6.20000000 BTC

Now there isn't much I can do I guess - I wish I could do some amazing blockchain analysis, but I'm going to leave here a little info on where the 6.2 BTC is now in case the money ever moves to an identifiable place and someone wants to run an analysis on it:
Code:
34AVLq5TikD91aVPdhYo8Z5c8KURGQioHM sent all funds to 31q3uwFYNtAQPZCVicPAhEGcKtHPPh5W6W; new bal: 1.69997172 BTC
33qpdcsJtgtrJjNitiRZPKBxchC7JQNLNb sent all funds to 3ArDfr4NQ22nx76HWu7FDvrASuA2xAfPZS; new bal: 2.49996720 BTC
32MFcs6p4kLupRdS4iYroYkRD5zyW6r1oj sent all funds to 3Jhiy88ypYFFwvnoScpqAzJN5iXZ7c63T7; new bal: 1.99996720 BTC

2683  Other / Beginners & Help / Need a little advice from the best members out here on: April 05, 2020, 01:48:18 PM
I have to admit that I have a ton of free time I'm literally wasting every single day.

I've been wondering for some weeks already how to get my time filled up and achieve something at the same time. It's mostly a thought linked to BTC or BitcoinTalk - be it campaign management, trade escrowing or doing some simple jobs for BTC or to become more trusted here, I just can't find a direction so I thought this is the best way to know what the best out here think.

Only a few minutes ago did I download and create some fresh new wallets willing to start offering escrow services on the forum. I hit a big wall in front of me though, which is the reputation I'm missing. I thought escrowing some transactions leads to a 3-in-1: there'd be 1 less potential scam victim every time, my time will not be wasted anymore and I may get some tip from it (or I could ask for a small percentage for my service)! But how do I do this without having a pile of trust on my back?

A few weeks ago I started a thread to offer my signature campaign service. Again - no history on my back, so I guess there isn't much hope for it to succeed. I would bump it every now and then but I feel like it just won't work. Or maybe I'm a little bit too pessimistic about it.

So now I'm wondering - what can I really do for BTC? Because every question has a dead-end to some extent: Escrow? No trust on my back. Signature Campaigns? No history/portfolio. Trading? No interest in exchanging/selling my BTC or alts. Writing articles (I writing)? No portfolio, non-perfect English and sometimes crappy payrates. I honestly feel hopeless and I have no idea where to start.

I usually think about offering services to the forum also as some kind of payback for the massive amount of knowledge, experience and fun BitcoinTalk has given me over the years. But if there is one thing I really want to succeed in, it's doing it right. Some members out here have done it for years, gained lots of experience and reputation and I know there has to be a start somewhere, but instead of starting 5 threads for all the things I can offer and have negative reactions to them all, I thought the best idea would be asking you what you recommend me to do.

Thank you to whoever takes their time to reply. Smiley
2684  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brand new looking to make bitcoin on: April 05, 2020, 12:29:05 PM
If I was new to Bitcoin again, I would start off by offering my skills for BTC payments. One thing I've done before and got rewarded in BTC for was article writing. It went pretty well, not the best and not the worst rates either but it did make me feel somewhat happy that I earned BTC in a legit way.

If you want to play with your chances, you can find some casinos with faucets implemented on them and try rolling these faucets every now and then - who knows, maybe one day you'll be the lucky one! On the other hand, this could provoke addiction so if you can't control yourself, don't go for it.

Otherwise, you can start freelancing or look for jobs on this forum OR you can start selling your stuff, but make sure the items you send will arrive - I'd rather not do this until the lockdowns get lifted. I think there's plenty to choose from, just make sure you don't get scammed and don't scam others either. Good luck! Smiley

How about you learn some English
Amazing attitude from someone who promises 'to save the world and make a change'. I can already see people thanking you for saving their lives. (not)

Telling someone to learn some English when your Shitpaper is crap and filled up with mistakes and fairy tales. Nice. Try your scam somewhere else.
2686  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Binance announce Bitcoin Mining Pool ( Binance Pool ) on: April 05, 2020, 10:53:00 AM
1- Be the largest exchange by volume.
2- Buy the most famous "crypto market statistics" website (Coinmarketcap), more details here.
3-Attempt to start a mining pool.

Does not seem like CZ is trying to take control at all, pretty hard to smell any sort of centralization here.  Roll Eyes

That's right! Doesn't sound good at all from my perspective either, it looks just like he's focusing on gaining power and control so that makes me very doubtful about the true intentions he has. Especially because people don't even know some of the most critical things about his business.

What exactly can he do if he somehow gets to own >50% of the hashing power through his pool? Can miners from his pool be somehow forced to accept some manipulation if he ever has the intention to manipulate the network one way or another?
2687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the safest crypto online games to start if you are a Newbie? on: April 05, 2020, 10:45:19 AM
If there still are any casinos with free faucets, then that one is my answer. Otherwise, some large community where people usually tip others like PrimeDice. I don't think I've ever been tipped anywhere on a casino more than I've been on PD and that surely makes the game way more fun..
2688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Time to learn on: April 05, 2020, 01:30:59 AM
Crises are what make us better if we take advantage of them well. It is a good idea to start learning in these situations, but unfortunately, learning cryptos needs to start with knowing the correct methods of learning, Do not forget much of the misinformation that occurs in Bitcoin.com.

Therefore it is better to suggest some channels and let the user choose how he wants to learn.
I highly recommend following this channel ---> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJWCJCWOxBYSi5DhCieLOLQ.

They're very good wake up calls, indeed. In fact, if you can stay at home, have an income and some free time too, consider yourself one of the lucky ones and take advantage of the moment to gain more knowledge. While others are smoking weed and watching Netflix all day long, you can get to develop some amazing idea and be 50 steps ahead of everyone else.

Do not forget much of the misinformation that occurs in Bitcoin.com.

Thanks God it's BCH and not BSV. Give that domain to BSV and encounter the ultimate rage of our community.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep track of your gambling? how? on: April 04, 2020, 06:16:05 PM
I don't think I can recall how many times I've used Excel for the stupidest things. I think I still have some dice game method calculus spreadsheets somewhere on my PC - I used to create automated formulas to tell me, based on some inputs, how many bets are needed to be placed until I bust with my balance.

It was more fun than an investment. I used to play all day long - big ex-addict here. I usually played with faucets out of boredom while chatting with others on the casino and, whenever I felt lucky, I would've deposited and played my chances. Cheesy The deposits were usually small amounts I would've paid for a meal or a drink. IIRC there was only one point I have deposited my ENTIRE Bitcoin balance and played it. Besides that, non-significant amounts.

Physical notebooks? I think that's too much of a headache and the calculus can go wrong at any time.. much faster to go for Excel formulas.
2690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first BTC ATM in Nigeria on: April 04, 2020, 06:04:47 PM
Yes, that's cool. I remember creating a topic about it and posting the video on how it works here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226816. I knew it was at Lagos but... I didnt know the exact place. Neither did I know who brought it into play. Thanks for giving out those information. 🙂

Exactly! Something made me confused for a moment, I knew I read somewhere about the 1st ATM in Nigeria months (apparently only weeks) ago. But is it the same one I knew from the thread you've linked us to? Because otherwise it would be pretty unfair for that guy from March to be the 1st but not take credits from anyone for it.

The ATM from the March thread looks very similar to the design on the Blockstale official website (https://blockstale.com/) though.

Congrats, Nigeria! Cheesy

Whoa, chill out bro, making your font size 72p doesn't make you more credible. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Had some free time, so let's leave here some contradictory stuff you've said..
Archived thread, Archived Thread 2

the price will be initialized at 1$

(from your Shitpaper)
Quote
  • ICO (Initial Coin Offering):
Our goal is to offer up to 50 million coins as
an airdrop (or ICO) to the community,
using our App. We will deliver the coins in phases.
The phases will be determined in a way
that keeps the market stable and active. (so you're going to manipulate the price to your advantage?)
  • Crowdfunding:
Our goal is to reach 5 Million sold CovCoin in 1
year with a rate of 1000 coin per ether.
60% of the funds are donated to health research
organizations, and combat (...)

We never mentioned anything about the 5 million dollars , it's way lower than that .

- We are not raising 5 million usd , it depends on the ethereum price (about 100k) . 60% of the money will go to campaigns , covid19 related or not . That means even after the covid19 ends , it will go to other campaigns , all this is done through open source contracts that we have no control of , that means the money wil be transferred automatically .
 - It's true the website name is covid19 , but we are changing it to our platform name 'covgrow' once it's deployed .
 - We chose the name as a niche , bitcoin name was chosen after bits (just a guess) , dogecoin was chosen after a meme , we didn't choose the name because we wanted to cure or to donate to covid patients , it was just a niche and it's just the 'COV' part .
 - The platform isn't about corona or viruses , it's about creating a transparent platform for campaigns that enables people to donate to charities and startups in a transparent and automated way.

- 100k is not much for you, is it? Like heh, even if you wanted to scam us, it would be just 100k, srsly guys.. All money will MAGICALLY go from us to some charities! I guess you've invented a smart contract so good and intelligent it does all this with no way of you scamming
 - Well, didn't you just say there's no link to COVID-19? Now you admit the website name is COVID19, the coin name is CovCoin, this shitty Covgrow is in your Whitepaper... no link to COVID tho.. maybe Covgrow comes from "Growing our pockets thanks to COVID" Roll Eyes
 - DOGE is a meme. COVID is a disease people die from, you retard. And you're trying to take advantage of it.
 - Why do you keep repeating it a thousand times and keep trying to explain yourself? The platform's NAME itself is related to it.

You should learn some manners of speaking , neither the less:
 - the project has nothing to do with covid19 , it was only mentioned once : '60% of the crowdfunding is used to charities AND covid19 cause'. We used the name covcoin because the airdrop helped people stay at home.
 - We can change the name , but that wouldn't matter . Once the outbreak gets resolved , the name will be quite normal to use . people won't even notice it's related to corona because 'COV' is not that related.

You should learn some English 'cause your whitepaper grammar is shit, neither the less:
 - check the image below
 - You can change the name, but that wouldn't matter after you scam us. Once the outbreak gets resolved , the scammers (you) will go back to living a normal life . people won't even notice.

BTW: "COVID" comes from Corona Virus Disease. COV is very related to the virus, bro.

Now check out this image from your "official Twitter page", is this shit big enough for your eyes to see it's related to the virus?

2692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: We launched a new airdrop (~1$ every 3 hours) on: April 04, 2020, 05:15:56 PM
prejudging is not good , maybe you should read before commenting.

every project need to have a niche , we picked the outbreak as our niche , but it won't last , we will change it by time we have our platform ready .
Or maybe you should shut the fuck up and stop taking advantage of the health crisis to scam people. If you had serious thoughts about this project, you would've AT LEAST had a decent name and a >50% professional-looking Whitepaper. But reading your so-called "Whitepaper" was enough for me to understand what's up with you. Just another team who "wants to change the world", when in fact Covgrow (or is it CovCoin? I don't get it anymore) is just another shitcoin.

I've read your Whitepaper from start to end. What is it so special about the coin? Your fairy tale about the way you're going to change the COVID-19 situation or.. is it so special that your cryptocurrency has the following functions, according to your own Whitepaper: "Transfer", "TransferFrom", "BalanceOf", "Mint" and "Approve"?

the price will be initialized at 1$ , but it's gonna change based on demand and exchanges
Oh, really? Does price seriously change based on demand? Whoa Shocked Shocked
2693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the anonymous cryptocurrency on: April 04, 2020, 04:49:11 PM
The longer bitcoin will exist the more we loss its anonymity as the government will regulate it and with strict regulation, we will be able to comply with the KYC and pass the requirement of the exchanges. In blockchain, we are anonymous but in the eyes of the regulars, we are not.

Stop using centralized services then and start supporting real p2p and decentralized ones. That's how you decrease government control and, at the same time, increase privacy. You're not anonymous on blockchain. In fact, if you take the wrong steps and no precaution, even Monero doesn't make you anonymous. Everything has some steps you have to check if you truly want your identity to be preserved.

Lawmakers, regulators will always look for a way to deprive you from privacy and anonymity. If you're willing to hide in a shadow, you become their target - simple as that. If you keep up with their requirements and under their control, you'll likely be left alone.
2694  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus hoax in Italy on: April 04, 2020, 03:33:39 PM
There's so much contradictory information out there I just don't know what to believe anymore.

I can honestly agree with both those who say it's a hoax and those who say it isn't. We just have enough arguments at this point to prove any of the ideas we believe in. I agree with the idea that the mainstream media is exaggerating - have you even seen any news (speaking about TV only) in the past few weeks about anything else but COVID-19?

Have you seen the footage of CBS talking about overcrowded NYC hospitals while using footage from Italy? I've turned on my TV a few days ago (I live in Romania) and thought.. why the hell do we have to report every single death and infection from the virus considering we have a population of +20M and at the time we had under 100 deaths in total from the COVID-19 pandemic? Like isn't it a bit too much to report every single case? I think it just feeds our emotions way too much. We're literally covered in pandemic news right now and at this pace, lots of us are not gonna be as sane as they were before the lockdown and strict measures.

I have personally heard doctors say they have no cases in their hospital. I have also heard doctors say they can't keep up with them. I have also seen recorded footages of empty hospitals in some of the most crowded areas of large cities. I think I've seen all the possible scenarios and now I'm confused AF. What the hell is the real scenario going on? Or are they all real? Are some hospitals overcrowded while others don't even have a single doctor inside anymore?

I personally know some people who've been infected with COVID-19 and nobody takes care of them or even calls to ask or for an update on their health status. I personally know someone who has had a death in their family completely unrelated to the virus or any respiratory disease, yet they have been reported as "another COVID-19 death" live on TV.

Have you seen the new hospitals from Wuhan (those that have been over-advertised on TV months ago)? They look like damn prisons, which makes me pretty skeptical about what's going on.

I don't even think it makes sense to come with arguments against each other's point of view anymore. There's just so much contradictory information. Like fuck it, I'm starting to give up believing anything related to the official AND unofficial information. I think my plan is: believe it's a horrific virus, protect yourself and continue following this path because nothing is certain anymore.

EDIT, and I'm going to put a larger font for this for more exposure.
Check this out.
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your gambling system? on: April 04, 2020, 02:04:33 PM
I've tried so many gambling systems and the conclusion I reached is that there's no way you can game their mechanism. The more you risk, the earlier you bust. The opposite applies too. I tried playing out with the "1.01x" payout through dice and I have miserably failed after more than 15 hours of automated bets. Through Martingale, the fastest bust was under 5 minutes.

If you wanna play, just go for it whatever the final outcome is. All you need is luck; have it and you'll happily end the gambling session in minutes. Smiley

The only thing you can game in a gambling session is the greed. If you can play it out and stop before a complete bust, then you're ahead of the game. Otherwise.. it's all about luck. A lifetime experience doesn't give you higher chances to win. In fact, if you've been a long time gambler, chances are you already are in a pretty deep debt.
2696  Economy / Economics / Re: returning to normal on: April 04, 2020, 12:30:18 PM
I keep repeating this idea: it takes less than a month to form a new habit. Kids who are being raised right now are going to believe this is the new normal. Expect a lot of introverts, expect a lot of social awkwardness once this entire thing ends. It's gonna take a long time to get back to normal... if we ever will again.

Industries will not disappear. They'll go right under the wings of our world's largest corporations. Expect the largest ones to start expanding their domains and to cover all our needs. Amazon is one of them. We are already giving them most of our money: Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google etc. Even if you're not giving Google for example money directly, you're indirectly giving them free bucks by letting them collect your personal data. Same goes to Amazon Alexa, Google Home and everything else.

I just hate the path we're heading to.
2697  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: {Warning}: Fake Trezor (geo-target) on: April 04, 2020, 09:52:46 AM
There are still loads of fake giveways in Google. And no way they are going to removed or at least filtered those ads unless people reported it to them. That's how messed up Google system is, and as much as we tell crypto people not to used it, I'm sure majority are still using it. And with the Covid-19 situation, Google should at least review all their ads as it might contained theme attacks, but as everybody here says, they don't care as long as they can also generate money from ads.

This is exactly what they want & what they need. Google can't get out of their cage and say "you see, we absolutely HATE giving you freedom and decentralization!", they'll do it in such a subtle way you won't even notice it. Scam ads are just a perfect weapon to steer newcomers away from crypto by letting them get scammed. Create a fake Google scam ad and you'll probably find authorities at your door next day. Do it with crypto and live off it. It's obvious now that they simply want the crypto scams to live.

Few days ago it was when I said that I don't lime the idea of CZ taking over CMC that much. However, if he's going to remove all the shitcoins off the most popular crypto price tracking website, maybe this is the day shitcoins are finally not getting attention anymore?

I've heard the idea of the list of coins getting cleaned up for years now and I'm patiently waiting for that moment to come. We need it. Way too much garbage in the space. If this happens, it will have a good impact. Let's just hope he doesn't turn into the next Justin Sun and removes just coins he personally doesn't like or has had some beef with .. Smiley

I suggest moving your thread to the Mining board, there are lots of advanced guys when it comes to mining. Smiley Meanwhile, I found some threads (some of them are quite old, but maybe they're just what you need):

Moving the thread to the Mining board will get your questions answered for sure.
