2681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is really controlling the Bitcoin market. on: January 02, 2022, 03:10:19 PM
Bitcoin being decentralized is very volatile in nature. Anybody can buy and sell howsoever they want.
The freedom to control your own money was clearly shown since bitcoin was created. So nobody else but all of us are controlling the bitcoin market.
Basically, it depends on us. It depends on how much we buy and sell at a given instance.
But there are some influencers who influence other people to buy and sell their coins which triggers a manipulative market these days.
Over time their influence over people will decrease and the market will mature.
2682  Economy / Gambling / Re: MISTAKE TIP 3.8 BTC on: January 02, 2022, 02:37:13 PM
This story looks total shit to me. OP received 3.8 BTC from someone a year ago and wants to send it back now.
He doesn't have access to his primedice account but still has the BTC which means he would have probably withdrawn it to his wallet.
Why did OP choose to withdraw the coins while he could have sent it back right away.

Also, anyone can impersonate as the sender and contact OP and ask him to send the BTC to him.

I think OP is inspired from EZ0010 story of being honest so that he could receive some merits on his new account.
I clearly see it as a way to earn merits.
2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 02, 2022, 02:29:30 PM
I think gambling in the gaming industry and metaverse will be the next big move. May be they might collaborate into something huge.
Gaming in the metaverse is already taking it by storm. So I think there might be games in the metaverse which will support in house gambling as well.
We might be able to choose our avatar and play games on the metaverse with real coins and do gambling with it.
It might be the next big thing but not until the next 5-8 few years.
2684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your perspective on a new casino on: January 01, 2022, 04:41:36 PM
There are a lot of casinos coming here everyday and most of them are really not worth to try in my opinion. I have been active in the gambling section for the last few months, possibly for the last year. I have observed many sites but didnt find a lot of good projects. Only a few were worthy to check out and play. What do you do? Join and try your luck on the new casino or join only if you see them lasting for long?

It's quite simple for me. New casinos tend to offer many bonuses/discounts/free spins/rewards when they are launched newly.
So taking up those initial rewards helps us gamble for a while on that new gambling site. With that experience I make up my mind whether to continue or not.
Most of the times I tend to end up playing in my favorite sites alone but I have found these sites the same way.
Basically, I play on the gambling site until it is providing me a good experience of gambling.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling mistakes and amendment on: January 01, 2022, 04:37:46 PM
That is pretty much the same for me as well. Since I used to gamble a lot last year it made me learn many things.
I had committed many mistakes in the past which helped me in limiting my losses in 2021.
So it was a pretty good year for me when talking about gambling and I think the same will happen in 2022 as well.
2686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about lottery? on: January 01, 2022, 04:35:47 PM
What's your opinion on lottery, whether it is an addicted gambling practice or it is quite Ok to buy lottery regularly. There are people who allocate separate fund from their earnings for lottery. Only the luckiest will make the win, and today got to read about a lucky winner on the UAE lottery. It is the first time in his lifetime buying a lottery, and he had won about $3 million. He's working as a labour and he has said to the media he'll buy agricultural land in his village (India) and support develop the school in his region.

Lotteries are as addictive as gambling because if you buy lottery once then you will probably buy it again in the hope of winning the grand prize.
The failure in winning the lottery triggers our inner emotions to keep trying again and again making us addictive towards the grand prize.
So I would say this is the same as gambling and we should try to have a self control and limit ourselves from buying these lotteries.
2687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk guesses who bitcoin's mysterious creator Satoshi Nakamoto is on: January 01, 2022, 04:12:09 PM
I personally don't care if it is Elon Musk or a random guy who says he thinks who Satoshi might be.
If any person claims to be Satoshi then the only way to prove the ownership over Satoshi's identity is to sign a message using Satoshi's keys.
I wouldn't trust any other way of verification because anybody can claim he is Satoshi.
2688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Happy New Year! 2022 is upon us - share your (top 5) coins on: December 31, 2021, 03:32:09 PM
Happy new year to everyone on the bitcointalk forum. 2021 has been a roller coaster ride. I wish 2022 gives us all subtle gains.
For 2022 my top 5 coins to keep my eye on would be BTC, ETH, SOL, FTM, SAND.
The first 4 are my favorite coins out there. I am not sure about SAND since I have just started following it a day ago.
But if things go right, it might be in the top 5 in my portfolio.
2689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: December 31, 2021, 03:24:41 PM
I am not sure if metaverse is a bubble or not because it is in a very early stage. Just like bitcoin the famous coins of metaverse like SAND and MANA have recently pumped up a lot.
Many people are thinking that the price has pumped very much and it might be a bubble but we have seen BTC rise from less than $1 to $69000.
So we can't really say if it is a bubble or not and at least not for the next few years.
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A different December indeed on: December 31, 2021, 02:12:51 PM
Today is 31st of December and by now you should have know that 100btc in 2021 is impossible and also things is different this time around, December is always a good year for crypto most especially when bull season is still around but this December brakes that history and become something we haven't seen before, what have you learn here?

What are you talking about ?
I think you mean bitcoin didn't reach $100k price per bitcoin and you though every December would result in a bull run.
Since you are relatively new in the crypto sphere you are having these misconceptions.

It's not necessary that every December would result in a price pump. You should see the charts and see how 2018 and 2019 were.
The long bear market was really heart wrenching and it shows how it's not necessary that price pumps occur every end of the year.

As for the speculation of bitcoin price reaching $100k per bitcoin it will reach someday or the other.
May be in 2022 or in 2023. We never know but it will.

Did anybody notice that the price of FUN token pumped up to 34 sats per coin. I checked yesterday or may be the day before and it was just at 25 sats.
So that's an increase of 36% in just 24 - 48 hours which is really amazing. Honestly I didn't expect such a growth but I am more than happy for it.
I wish we see FUN token crossing 100 sats in 2022  Grin

Was there any news/ event which pumped the price or was it just the normal price increase?

100 sats can be easily be the FUN price in the next alt seasons.

I don't think there was any news about FUN token recently. BTC and other altcoins also had a minor pump today.
So may be it's just a normal price increase due to the end of the year.

Right now, when it's less than 2 days left, and it looks like Bitcoin is going down,

Just a few more hours brother. Seems like $45k - $50k is the range BTC will land upon this time.

2693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I know legit and scam investment? on: December 30, 2021, 03:59:16 PM
Keep reading various kind of scams and hacks on the internet and you will find out how to identify an obvious scam.
Anything that is too good to be true is an obvious scam. Some scams are hard to find out and you have to trust your gut feeling for that.
You need to have a scammers mind to identify a scam. The best way to stay safe is to invest only in fully trusted assets.
For example: Instead of investing in new coins invest in established coins like BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL etc...
2694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That honest attitude is better than the thousands of spam posts you spread on: December 30, 2021, 03:52:32 PM
I don't think honesty on this forum is to be associated with ranks. There's a person behind every account. There are newbies who are scammers but there are also legendary members who proved to be equal frauds. Newbies are sometimes not given the amount of trust given to a hero or legendary member simply because of their rank. But it doesn't speak of honesty. If a person behind an account is honest, rank does not matter. He/she will return what does not rightfully belong to him/her.

That's exactly what I had in my mind. It doesn't really matter if that person is a Newbie or a Legendary for what we know he might be the oldest person on the forum who just created an account and got the Newbie rank. It is mostly on how the person is from the inside. That person had a good heart which made him refund the money back.
That is a normal behavior and we shouldn't be surprised of it. In fact we should be proud that our forum still has many good people in it who are there for others in need of it.
2695  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID has driven Americans to bank $1.6 TRILLION in savings on: December 30, 2021, 03:35:28 PM
We appear to lack complete savings data for 2021. Charts above indicate massive $1.6 trillion in savings for 2020 followed by a dip.

The author of the piece says "everything recovered in 2021" with consumers having no need to emergency binge save anymore.

Wouldn't it be so much better if consumers bought up inflation protected assets, rather than placing their savings in low interest rate accounts for that period. Bitcoin's value grew dramatically in 2021. Could a portion of that growth be attributed to consumers and retail investors placing savings in bitcoin, gold or silver?

I think buying assets which beats inflation and also gives us profits is becoming the new norm these days.
People are becoming more aware these days and are investing into various assets.
There are less number of people these days who would prefer to stack their savings in bank accounts.
Even the fixed deposits are hardly near 5% - 6% which shows how inflation is overtaking savings account interest rates.

Curious to know if anyone feels the economy made a complete recovery in 2021. Are we back to normal?

Of course not. We are definitely not back to normal and I think we will never be.
The simple reason is because the government has rained a lot of money into the economy.
This is creating an inflationary effect and will probably will not be ever recovered.
2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: December 30, 2021, 02:51:29 PM
Is this fight really going to happen or is it a joke or something?
If mike tyson puts his mind to knockout, he will do it very easily. No matter how old it gets, the Tyson technique never gets old. If there is such a match, the winner will of course be Mike Tyson.
I hope we can watch this fight. I'll be back when the date is set.

This fight is not confirmed yet but both fighters have not said the fight will not happen so people are still expecting that it will push through. With the new post from Logan Paul about a different opponent, this makes people gets confuse on whom he would really want to fight.

From the latest news that I read on the internet Mike Tyson was asked a question whether he would fight one of the Paul brothers.
In reply Mike Tyson mentioned hell yeah and it confirms that he would be fighting Paul.
I though the fight was scheduled in February 2022 but I think there is no specific date mentioned as of yet.
2697  Economy / Gambling / Re: Show Your Victory on: December 30, 2021, 02:45:10 PM
That is the essence of gambling that really made many stays and play even turning into addicted, the Belief that Gambling will bring them fast money.
But if you dig deeper and understand the real concept of gambling ? it is created just for enjoyment but of course the ending brings sudden when there comes many addicted than playing to have fun.
the gambling site may bring big profit or winning from the beginning but in the end? makes you lose more than what you desire to take.

For the casino owners it is just pure business and a way for them to get good profits for their business since gamblers eventually end up losing all their money.
Gamblers get a false hope that their next bet will be a win and get them profits. While this does happen a few times but most of the times it is the opposite.
The addiction is obvious because the greed increases in gamblers making them place frequent bets.
You are right that gambling is just meant for enjoyment but at the same time gamblers should consider the amount needed for that sense of enjoyment.
They should keep a budget for their gambling needs and only play within their capacity to lose.

Right now, when it's less than 2 days left, and it looks like Bitcoin is going down,

I wouldn't say I bet wrong for it to be in the "$40,001 - $45,000" range at 23.59 UTC on the 31st of December 2021. Smiley Again, of course I expect a new ATH soon, in the beginning of January, maybe. I just want to win my bet, and then I want BTC to the moon. Smiley

You definitely didn't bet wrong this time. $40k - $45k is a solid bet for the current cycle but I do hope you had also placed a bet in the $45k - $50k range as well.
The current price is at $47k and looks like there's a good support at $46k but if you are indeed lucky then you might get a good multiplier in the sub $45k range.

Recently I won 3,900 Lottery Tickets with WoF(rare thing these days, right?)

Now having a decent amount of tickets

I expect winning something in 3 days. Smiley

That is indeed rare these days. It has been months since I have won anything outside double digit rewards.
2699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Machine Learning truly predict Bitcoin's price? on: December 29, 2021, 04:03:45 PM
Price predictions are a myth in my perspective and it all boils down how to probability of bitcoin price reaching that particular price.
Machine learning and AI are just technologies which humans have developed and if they can predict bitcoin price then humans can too.
But that isn't the case. We haven't seen any person claiming 100% accuracy while predicting prices and it's all just a speculation.
If there were such ML and AI bots who could predict prices then everyone would be following it and getting rich.
2700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Evaluate your Bitcoin for next year on: December 29, 2021, 03:59:42 PM
This year was really great for me with bitcoins. I was able to use some amount from my bitcoin holdings and get into real estate.
The next year though I plan on to accumulate back the amount of bitcoins I used to get into real estate.
So my expectations are that bitcoin will take a dip in the first quarter and then start pumping throughout 2022.
Other than that, I expect bitcoin being widely adopted than in 2021 as more number of merchants, institutions start accepting BTC.
