It's official bitcoin is the new gold

https://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2017/08/30/bitcoin-is-the-new-gold/?c=0&s=trending#3b10431c1365

"Apparently, Bitcoin is more popular than gold among investors, as a hedge against rising global uncertainties.  Growing mistrust of national currencies, following dubious government policies, has pushed people into Bitcoin"
2708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 30, 2017, 05:43:47 PM
If BCH succeeds in killing BTC, then:
1) There will be a general crash in crypto because it will be proved that they can be killed by such attacks; and
2) There are many better coins than BCH to play with.

Nonsense. If the market moves strongly to Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin Core, then the narrative that 'Bitcoin Cash is The Real Bitcoin' will have been proven true.
That's just not how it's gonna work. Bitcoin is whatever the bitcoin wallets accept. Which is segwit, like it or not. The other one is stuck in alt status and will continue to be so.

Continual improvements to the tech was always part of the plan. Segwit it is for this round. Just how it is.
Thats exactly how I see it.

I bought some at 0.07 and look at it now !

I only bought what I couldn't get during the fork due to lending on poloniex (which made me much more dough than the value of the BCH I didn't get).

Now I'm playing with the BCH, shorting everything every day and buying back the dips.
Well done . I'm useless at trading

Want to send $20? Too bad, you will receive $4, it's only fair to pay the Blockstream Corporation for their Bitcoin invention.

Actually you're paying a nice Chinese man to finance his attacks on Bitcoin.

I don't buy this "attack on Bitcoin" argument. So what if the chain gets spammed? That's exposing a weakness. What if Bitcoin actually got the mainstream adoption all these sycophants are constantly proclaiming? That spam would be replaced with "real" transactions. Old dice websites and others used to do 1 satoshi transactions all the time, there are legitimate reasons to send low value high volume transactions that aren't intentionally "malicious".

If core don't like the mempool being filled, they should alter their code to handle this. Unfortunately, they prefer to limit the block size and ensure that fees continue to rise, going so far to say $1,000 fees would be acceptable. Pushing transactions off chain is like a toddler pushing their toys under the bed to clean their room. They say things like it would be fine if it took as long as a year for a payment to settle as long as you could ensure it would eventually settle. That completely changes the fundamental currency claim of Bitcoin. It's not a settlement network.
Um I thought you are only into  Ixcoin?Huh

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Well, segwit's here and there's no big price change yet... currently $4245UDS/$5315CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltcoinCash is also hanging tough at $648USD/$812CAD (Coinmarketcap).

So far, so good.
Bitcoin is doing fine. Am I missing something cus Altcash volume is a fraction of what it was and the price is steadily falling? (I'm secretly happy with that)
