2702  Economy / Services / 10.3Gh 30 day mining contract available on: December 10, 2011, 08:05:58 PM
Hello fellow bitcoiners,

I would like to offer a 10.3Gh 30 day mining contract for 250 BTC. As you can see from avatar, I have the hashing power to rent.   Grin

If you are on a pool with merged mining and PPS payout, this contract should return 6% at the next estimated difficulty, 3% for merged mining and 3% for the discount I am offering. So if you are running on a lucky pool, who knows....

Payment will be made in full before the start of mining.

Any interruptions in services will be dealt with fairly and added to the end of the contract.

My credentials:

WOT rating -> http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=gigavps
Rig building cred -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=51350.0
More cred -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=44767.0

PM me or reply to this thread to get started mining without the hassle of building rigs, dealing with heat or a hefty electric bill.

EDIT: Q&A

Q: Will you split the hashing power into small contracts?
A: No.

Q: Will you accept a smaller payment up front and the rest later into the contract?
A: No.
2703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox hacked? on: December 09, 2011, 06:35:03 PM
amazingrando my friend! I am so sorry to hear that!

The person probably GOT your password from one of the pools you use. Most pools use mysql and they are really easy to do an injection attack and gain access - it's either that or a dishonest pool admin.

Either way those are far more likely to be true than MTGox being hacked.

I thought the same thing.  The only reason I thought it might be Mt. Gox being hacked (besides other people having the same issue) is that the first change to any of my accounts was at Mt. Gox.  Accessing my pool accounts came afterward.

That was probably done intentionally to keep from raising red flags.  Had you noticed suspicious activity or discovered your pool account hacked I'm sure (I hope) you would have changed passwords on any related websites.  I'm very sorry that happened.  You really should get a YubiKey.

And never use the same password twice. Last pass is free. -> https://lastpass.com/
2704  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [340 GH/s] ABCPool.co 0% fee PPS - join now & get best payouts out there! on: December 09, 2011, 11:43:13 AM
... For larger miners (over 10Gh), getting a 5 btc payout twice a day does not work out at my pool balance would just keep rising. ...
... There are only two payouts per day, so set the threshold to 0.2. You will get the highest multiple of 0.2 as the payout. ...
Fred0 describes it well.

I've also just changed the wording on the account page to make it clearer how auto-payout is done.

Thanks. Appreciate the help.
2705  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [204 GH/s] yourbtc.net closing it's doors on 2011-12-08 on: December 09, 2011, 12:30:19 AM
Wow I'm really bummed out to see this pool go.

Are there any other pools out there with merged mining that automatically exchange namecoin to bitcoin for you?

Eclipse does this also and they have the same payout system.
2706  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: December 09, 2011, 12:29:32 AM
Just started using BAMT (switched over from LinuxCoin) and I must say I think it's great.

Having a few problems though. After about 10 minutes of mining or so, the mining instances will just lock up. I can still use the system but when the miners never find any new shares or update their hashrates.

If I try to Ctrl+C the miners, they don't respond, or they take an exceptionally long time to do so. I've also noted that when this happens I cannot view the web interface either (I just constantly get a "Connecting") error. I had a similar problem in LinuxCoin (hence why I switched over in the first place).

Now what's puzzling me is that I've already commented out the overclock lines in the configs and checked that the cards are definitely running at STOCK clock settings (not overclocked). So does anyone know what's causing this problem? Could it be my USB pen? Or my CPU? Or one of my cards?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: This strange output from "ps x" would suggest something is wrong with atitweak... http://pastebin.com/BZG5GxNT

Also i'm using the same USB pen as I used with linuxcoin. Perhaps i've worn it out?

Definitely nothing wrong with bamt. I have rigs that have been up for 2 months now without issues. Lower the clocks to stock and bump them up one by one.

Or when a rig crashes, run the top command to see which process id is defunct and then run the code below to see which GPU is locked up.

Code:
for p in `ps --no-heading -o pid -C screen`; do pstree -apG $p; done

One simply question. I lock my payment address, but my automatic payment thresold is locked too. Is it normal???

Thanks.
Hi Mineriapepe,

Locking the payment address is recommended, so kudos for securing your account! Smiley

However, we don't have a function to lock the auto-payout threshold. There are a few restrictions to the threshold:
* The amount must be higher than 0.2 BTC. If you enter a lower number it will be changed to 0 (0=disable auto payout)
* The amount must be lower than 5 BTC. If you enter a higher number it will be changed to 5.
* You must enter your PIN. If you don't enter the PIN the changes won't be saved.

What is the amount you are trying to set it to? What is the message that is returned at the top of the page when you try?

MC you have a PM from me about suggested solution and my real ABCPool user. Thanks a lot.
Seen it, thanks for responding!

Ah, OK. I was trying to put 10, here was the problem  Cheesy . No message at top of page. Thanks.

It would be nice if the automatic payout was a payout threshold rather than the amount to payout. For larger miners (over 10Gh), getting a 5 btc payout twice a day does not work out at my pool balance would just keep rising.

Thanks.

2719  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Request for an RPC capable fork of cgminer (120/150 BTC pledged so far) on: December 02, 2011, 02:18:50 PM
Added another commit of the api-example.c that works in both windows and linux
https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer/commit/c33553d5a65556a4802bea6ec251e7aa80b809d5
and the downloads includes the windows binary api-example.exe

Made a few other changes not yet up in the git:
I've fixed the windows socket error messages and ended up making the api options a bit different again ...
This seems to be the easiest:
--api-listen (boolean - default is off which means the api thread doesn't wait for connections, specifying it means to turn on the api socket)
--api-network (boolean - default is off which means only 127.0.0.1 can connect it if is listening, specifying it means anything with netowrk access can connect to cgminer)

Added debug to be able to see what's happening with sends/recvs

Next change - I'll enhance the apiversion command (and just rename it to 'version')
It will return the api version and the cgminer version

Lastly I think I'll change all the field names to actual names - e.g. like for a GPU, instead of "R=0" it will say something like "Rejected=0"
That way everyone isn't trying to translate the codes, cgminer will do it correctly already (also the data quantity is quite small ...)

Lastly, I'll add an identifier to the [STATUS] section (as stated above) --api-description (defaults to "cgminer" or some such)
So if you specify --api-description "7990" it will return that at the bottom of every status section reply

Kano, thank you for all of your hard work on this feature.
