Sometimes in a pinch people want to buy and sell BTC through paypal.

RULE #1 do not mention it in the transaction. Just make it a service for computer software help

I would like this thread to become a safe haven rating of people who are trustworthy of buying and selling on paypal.
Post what you want to buy or sell, build your rep on here, and then use this thread to check reputation.  I know the irc channel exists but it's a mess of spammers & scammers.

I would like to buy about 10 btc right now from a hero member on here. Respond here first... I guest safest is to do it 1 by one or divide it up with people you don't know. Post your want need here, then post confirmed /reliable / or problems / scammed.
Obviously I would only start with proven forum members.

I am also a seller.  Right now I don't have access to my BTC and need some. I will be selling later.

That doesnt help to prevent chargeback.

#bitcoin-otc is pretty god damn insane.  I mean the gpg thing and all that..... it's great and all but you almost need a degree in computer science to fully understand it.  I finally got a nick going in there

BlackoutsBox

But....  I trust some members on these forums, and sometimes want to buy or sell, so this thread could almost be the same thing, like a rating thread.

I sold X btc to ______ and he paid quickly.... it has been a month.. no charge backs.. good communication... ect.
I bought X btc from _______  report.

No system is perfect against fraud, but we must not allow this to deter us from making honest transactions.

So use this thread for requests, reports.  I already got the BTC I needed bu it wasn't from a forum member,
and I know I'm never going to charge back on anyone.  but OTC was dead too... I guess because I'm a new member.

A reputable buyer will only send you a paypal payment as a gift so chargebacks are pretty much impossible, otherwise don't do it.

Everything is possible, no matter what kind of payment type you've choosen. It's not so difficult to prevent user from filling a non-received claim with paypal, there are at least half dozen of different ways. Still none of those prevent user from filling an unauthirozed charge claim - 'I was hacked, somebody gifted $10k from my acccount'.

And what's most important, nothing could make you safe against CC/ACH chargebacks which are being originated in user bank, not the PayPal itself.

Not impossible. I had sent through Paypal simply as money owed (which I assumed was not much different than a gift). When I discovered I was being scammed, I phoned Paypal and got elevated to a representative that dealt in these matters. I explained the situation to him and then a dispute was filed. I wasn't able to file a dispute through the website because of the way I sent the money, but one of Paypal's representatives understood the situation and opened the dispute. The money was recently charged back.

Because I was able to do this, it wouldn't surprise me that someone good at social engineering could do the same, though it did go in my favor simply because the other party didn't respond to my dispute (just like every other email and PM I sent them). Don't think a chargeback is not possible regardless of how the paypal transaction is made. I would like to believe the paypal dispute process is fair, so I would suggest that when doing a paypal transaction, make sure all records of conversations are available with a transaction agreement (I'm sure someone here might have a boilerplate agreement), in case a chargeback is made. This way, you can provide proof that a transaction was made, the conversations involved in the transaction and an agreement to the transaction so that you can provide evidence beyond reasonable doubt that a proper transaction took place.

I am not saying that these things are infallible but there are honest people on here who have built a name for themselves and are recognizable. Without blowing my own horn I'm not gonna charge back and there are others who wouldn't either.  So this thread is for that.

Also - paypal may be changing their tune on bitcoins as I fought them on one case and they actually sided with me and are disputing the bank.  They accepted my block chain and screen captures as evidence.  It was only for one btc but we'll see what happens.  They did not say to me - you're screwed you can't do that. I also include and instruction book and the btc is a bonus.

i'm at this point as well.. I pay all my bills through paypal and make a living doing web work. so i'm not on here to "play around" or scam anybody! I do have a lot in my pp account right now which I'm willing to transfer for bitcoins whenever.

if anybody is willing for quick cash I will provide payment instantly via paypal. looking for 10-30 bc right now... I'm even cool to wait a few days if you want to confirm the funds will transfer out of pp into your bank account before sending me the bitcoins. still new here, trying to build a solid rep

I have a good history on ebay and through payments via freelance work (web design, dev, mobile apps, etc.)

PM and i'll be happy to share more details and prove legitimacy

Same problem here, I do freelance work online among other ventures and most of my cash goes into my Paypal, it is proving hard to find someone who will trade with me since I'm new, even on the OTC channel. I don't want to buy BTC though I want to buy a Mtgox redeemable code. If anyone is interested in a trade please hit me up with a PM.

I'll vouch for him; we've completed 2 PPUSD<->BTC transactions so far in OTC. Quick, smooth transactions.
