At this point in my life, I have found it wise to not argue with x-tians.  You are never going to convince them that they are wrong because all the proof in the world(about them being wrong) has been in front of their faces their entire life and they have found a way to ignore it.  It will literally make you go insane.   Imagine someone trying to tell you that 1+1=3 and showing them all of the mathematical knowledge that shows 1+1 is actually 2 and having them still not believe you.   It is a strange affliction for certain.

Quite the contrary. Christians understand that 1+1=2. They also understand where this whole universe came from, something that atheists mostly don't. Don't argue with the Christians. Join them in this life, so that you can join them and God in the new universe God is making for all who believe in Him and are on His side.

Smiley

First of all, they don't "understand" where the whole universe came from because they have polluted their brain with false knowledge from a book of lies.  The blindly believe things to be true that have not been proven to actually be true.   That's why atheists don't KNOW where the universe came from.   They have quite a few theories based on hard scientific evidence that will remain theories until the are proven or disproved.    Atheism is a path to knowledge and progress.

Well when it comes to digital files and stuff finding an independent one for Bitcoin could be possible but not right now I don't think, I've tried, like I said a lot of them are third party, so you'd have to hire a programmer to develop you one. There is absolutely no way you're going to get a seperate payment plugin or anything for dealing with GBP/USD/EUR because their systems aren't set up like that, it would be possible to do wire transfers but you'd of course still need a bank account for that.

Yes, there are options that do not require registration.   Easy digital downloads(a wordpress plugin) has "guest checkout".   I believe you can set up woocommerce in the same manner and sell as a "virtual" product.    Or an alternative option would be to just use satoshi box.   Also, magento can be configured for virtual items, however it is memory intensive and requires a very good server.
2703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain: API keys, shared secrets, bitcoin trading software, and bots on: May 07, 2015, 04:49:54 AM
OK so I know what an API is: "Application programming interface".

And what i'm learning is an API key is a special password that allows programs access to your Bitcoin exchange wallet.

What I need to know, is how secure this is.

I understand that if someone has your API key this is basically the equivalent of your master private key to your wallet.
With the API key someone they can steal your money. (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1sxcyr/coinbase_account_was_hacked/)

So I need to understand how to keep this secure before I go create one and put it into a strange trading app I just downloaded off the internet.

What is the "shared secret"?

And what is preventing a software program like http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcointrader/

From simply relaying that private key to a 3rd party (or software designers for that matter) and allowing them to steal your coins?

( I'm getting the notion that most people use trading software and bots to trade bitcoin, so i'm wanting to try this as well since i've not been profitable yet, and maybe this is the solution. )

Thanks for your guidance. =)

It depends on the type of application that the API key is for.   One huge plus of most API keys is that they are (usually) easily revoked.   Many sites that have API's let you choose what that API key can be used for, and even who can use it.  For example, my blockchain.info account emails me as soon as someone tries to use my API key from a previously untrusted IP address and I can choose to whitelist/ban accordingly.

If you do not restrict your API persmissions, or an application requires full access....yes, your API key can be abused and it can be almost as bad as someone having your account password.   If a program requires unrestricted API access, be sure to do your research and make sure you can trust that program.

Over the past 12 years I've been using/abusing drugs such as Adderall/Xanax/Klonopin, etc..

Marijuana too.  but especially.

Don't use any more, but my desire to do stuff is in the shitter.  I've never kept a job longer than 16 months, and have never had a girlfriend

Just recently I tried to quit cigarettes too.  But keep going back, cause I don't have a desire to do anything.

Alcohol is really easy to control for me, only drink 1 a day.  Anyone got ideas for sober living besides watching TV/bowling/helping homeless all day?

Seriously, the best advice you got was the first comment.   Excercise.   It has worked wonders in my life.   I used to be very depressed and have my own substance issues.  I tried many different things and working out was the only thing that helped.

How could a thread with so much potential for hilarity, have gone south so very fast.    It it really necessary to call people out on a thread about fetishes FFS?    Also, the giant paragraph of multi-colored text almost guarantees that no one will read your comment as it it too painful after the first few lines.

Manny clearly wasn't up to it on the day and Floyd has his victory now. Why would he want to fight him again and risk losing?

I'm pretty sure that a giant boatload of cash would be a good reason to risk losing.

2710  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you sell on File Sharing Services to get some BTC? on: May 05, 2015, 03:10:58 PM
Hello

Firstly, i am new to the bitcointalk forum. The community here is nice. Now right to the question i have.

Do you use File Sharing Services to sell your scripts, api or anyhting for some BTC?

If so, do you have sales?

Thank you

I have tried.   The problem with that is that they have been abused by scammers for so long(especially satoshi box) that no one trusts them.    If you use these services, provide proof in the description somehow that you actually have what you claim to be selling.

If you wish to test site functionality, let me know and I can go through a walkthrough of all features.    The script has a lot of bells and whistles as well as security features.   We spent a lot of time getting this together the right way.

This is what happens to greedy people. They lost to paycoin and Homero will lose his money. Karma.

I would love to see what the hastalk crew has to say about that post, but shockingly, it's down.

How old about is the account with 300+ posts?

Is the account age important or you are just posting to be paid?

Yes, actually, the account age is important TO ME.   Because an older account with 300+ activity can likely go higher than just a Sr. member.  And yes, I'm posting to get paid for the sig campaign for MY website.    Maybe instead of just being completely rude, you can do something constructive.
