2701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 15, 2022, 07:34:23 PM
I really think this damage the trust in the sports bets , or anything related to the sport gambling, i know a lot can say its a kind of protest but still really unclear.
No, it does not damage the trust. It's known to all. If you are in gambling then you should know that it's always high risk to gamble in lower leagues. Match fixing is very common in those leagues. If you gamble on those leagues then go against the favorite but do not put a lot of money.
2702  Other / Meta / Re: How Would You Make Bitcointalk Better If You Were The Boss ? on: July 15, 2022, 07:24:57 PM
Fun? Have you even been in the situation when you do not have your bypass link and you are trying to login from tor? Try.
Lol I will try.
You haven't ever? F*** you! 😘

I got the joke sis!
🤣
I will let you stay confused LOL

Lol add a Silver coin to the gold ones.  Angry
Big man will find something if he wants.

It's a lot more of the typical single-person owned online business than the Bisq-like decentralized platform.
It runs of Apache and has a phpMySql database. Theymos can remove the data anytime if he wants. The domain could be sold and the files could be removed.
2703  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. on: July 15, 2022, 06:23:16 PM
I didn't bookmark the thread so I forgot who posted it. Luckily, I found it with Ninjastic.space. His username is blockgardener and this is the thread: Bitcoin price calculator - Calculate live and historic Bitcoin prices
The site has actually been live for almost a year, but I just discovered it after the OP posted some fresh updates the other day.
Thank you. The user deserved some merit. I wish I was a source. But happy to send couple for him. According to whois, the domain registered in march 2020 so the domain age is over 2 years. Now that we started to discover the project I hope more bitcoiner will find it useful and use it frequently.

Right now unfortunately there are not much data for the website.

2704  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: July 15, 2022, 06:13:10 PM
<snip>
Even some of those staunchest of trust-advocates that have not added me to their trust list or excluded me (some citing I am too hasty leaving negative tags as their reason, others have their own reasons or agendas) have themselves left highly dubious or factually incorrect negative tags for others thus contradicting themselves but I have tried to remain focused on the responsibility I have in conducting myself as a responsible member of this community. Others conduct their own responsibilities in the forum how they deem appropriate, there are no wrongs or rights, it is about interpretation.
<snip>
According to the bold part, you are expecting everyone to add you in their trust list. If they don't then they are staunch? You are now mad at the users who excluded you from their trust list including those did not add you at all.

I asked Royse777 if I can see the details and he/she shared it with me so I was among the circle too. But right now you are accusing us and saying closed circle as it sounds we gave him a friendly pass without justifying the entire situation.

Where is your problem? Royse777 decided to share the information with some of us or he did not share everything in open forum.
If not sharing in open forum is your problem then I can confirm, he didn't do it for his own privacy and security as well as few others too. None of us can protect him if something turn wrong against him.
If sharing the information with us is your problem then it's a strange feeling. 🙄

I kind of agree with DireWolfM14 but would like to add, someone is rightfully concerned about their security while you are being so curious to fix your drama.
2705  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN][In Merit] Post Count Down To Your Next Rank Here. on: July 15, 2022, 02:04:53 PM
@BitcoinGirl.Club That wasn't an excellent way to reply to someone. Healthy Criticism is appreciated. But, Wanting to f**k someone in a public place isn't good at all.
He was asking for it.
What difference does it make what all sorts of two-faced degenerates can accuse you of? It does not matter.
I left him in the ignore after the argument he had against me and others. I was not stepping in his discussions anymore. You provoke me by calling two-faced degenerates then expect me to stay silent is not going to happen. If this was not on purpose then apologize and remove, I leave until he dare to do similar in the future.

Sorry OP, I will not make anymore conversation on this topic. It shows that I am destroying your good initiative.
2706  Other / Meta / Re: How Would You Make Bitcointalk Better If You Were The Boss ? on: July 14, 2022, 10:46:23 PM
I would implement KYC so all you fu****s leave the forum 😉
Give a break to the Theymos man.
Lol, I mean this forum has no monetary value so why would anyone submit KYC  Angry isn't that against decentralization?
This was a joke brother. You did not notice the emoji. The moment the forum will ask KYC (does not make sense even we are talking about it) the principal of the forum will disappear. Although it's fine to ask on the 1st April 🤣

It does not LOL

Fuck them! 🤣

2708  Other / Meta / Re: Raw Thai Honey for Bitcoins, another classic just after Bitcoin Pizza trade! on: July 14, 2022, 08:09:41 PM
This was back when theymos gave a shit.
Theymos still gives shit. However now the community is bigger and stronger so he does not need his influence to settle something. When he says something it's a silent suggestion for everyone which he does not want at all. I understand that he wants the community itself find a solution for any case.

Give a break to the Theymos man.

Anyway,
1. Remove cloudflare
2. Remove the annoying captcha
3. Add a new rank for the monsters
4. Add a bitcoin price ticker at the top

2710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My class had their first Bitcoin exercise with my class on: July 14, 2022, 04:54:14 PM
I think it will be too early to bring them here now, given their youthful exuberance they're more likely to get into trouble than more mature minds. The sound and smell of cash excites youths more than grown adults. It can make them go gaga and they throw caution to the wind. This forum has a set of rules that users are compelled to adhere to and I think those youngsters are likely to miss them. Give them some time and they will be ripe to take responsibility, then bring them in here.
I did not have 18+ in mind 😉
At least they should know our existence that we have a big community supporting bitcoins and it's network. I think it's time to have an academic guideline for cryptocurrency so that schools, college and university students can make a choice like they make choice if they want to take a subject. Cryptocurrecy should not have to be bitcoin only.
2711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. on: July 14, 2022, 02:28:19 PM
Even though the site is running again, I wanted to mention an alternative that I saw the other day posted by someone in the Project Development sub-forum.
https://bitcoinpricecalc.com/
It looks better version of preev but it will take time to earn the name. Preev already earned it.
I think it's a good thing to support simple things developed by Bitcointalk members.
Of course it is. Who is the user? I am glad to see that there is a donation address. So let's with that his community work does not cost him money out of his pocket. Preev admin could do the same but I guess he has enough 😉
2712  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fake ChipMixer review? on: July 14, 2022, 02:14:17 PM
<snip>
I don't remember if we have any topic about phishing link websites or better say blog sites that are promoting phishing links. If we don't then someone can create a topic about it and put all those urls in "code" tag. Obviously guru99DOTcom will be on that list. Maybe we give it a name like scam99DOTcom LOL
2713  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. on: July 14, 2022, 12:48:20 AM
When I first access the preev website before the year 2015 or 2016 they do have a few ads and banner ads but after 2017 or I think 2018 they stop promoting ads.
I can not remember since when I am using preev but I can not remember to see any ads at all. I must be late to get introduced to the site.

Quote
I think it's because ads pull data like IPs and a little information about your device and I don't remember exactly but there is a discussion and report before about those ads on preev that end up removing ads.
A simple banner which is hosted in their same server is not going to make any difference. Since there are no registration required, I do not understand only from the IP of the visitors what possible issue their could be? Anyway, whoever own the site, he must have full commitment to the bitcoin community. It's very rare.
2714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not use Tether instead of Bitcoin ? on: July 14, 2022, 12:24:54 AM
I agree, Tether had been fined because of their lies about USDT being fully backed by USD.  Besides Tether is centralized unlike Bitcoin, meaning the developer can tweak anything according to what they wanted.  besides, they(Tether) can blacklist any address anytime.
I had to use Tether for few weeks to have them for a trade. It was hard time and stressful knowing that anytime anything could happen. It was unlikely though that with that short period of time anything was going to happen but you know it's the stress you take. Once I exchanged them in BTC I was in peace LOL

You might also think that it is 100% backed by US dollars, but it isn't. So stop comparing and saying that tether is better than bitcoin.
It's a completely lie. This is a good read.

2715  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preev.com - DNS hosting service has expired. on: July 13, 2022, 08:04:25 PM
An international treasure this site, Bitcointalk should acquire it in case the owner can no longer maintain it for a reason or another imo
I was looking at the domain to buy when it was down LOL
The site is very popular to the community and it amaze me that the owner is earning nothing from it. He could have just placed a banner ad and advertiser would pay him a lot of money.

Look at the stat for monthly visit. It's crazy number.
2716  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning network: an online court for micro payments on: July 13, 2022, 07:55:52 PM
I don't have a channel open with the lightning network at the moment but I thought you'd be able to go lower than 100 sats (considering they have nano and pico units)?
I see it's easy to create a lighting channel on Electrum.
I am yet to use it. Tried to explore it in the past but did not find where to use. I have seen some site that accept lightning but I never needed the product they were selling. Maybe we need some signature campaign who will pay in Lightning Network.
2717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not use Tether instead of Bitcoin ? on: July 13, 2022, 05:56:13 PM
Isn't the whole idea of Bitcoin to have a decentralized network that is useful and fair?  Isn't that Tether?
If you were to use Tether then it's better to use your fiat. Tether has created by having the USD in mind. They say it's backed by USD 100% but it is not. It's just a smart contract and Tether company can close it anytime if they want.

It seems your basic about bitcoin is not clear. Bitcoin is a blockchain, a decentralized system which no one own it. Bitcoin is not here to give you profit and lose. It's a currency. But because of the demand in market the value against fiat moves up and down. I suggest you to read bitcoin white paper: https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf
2718  Other / Meta / Re: Raw Thai Honey for Bitcoins, another classic just after Bitcoin Pizza trade! on: July 13, 2022, 05:45:26 PM
Was bitcoin ever truly "free" money? Of course, the first bitcoins were worth a lot less than they are now, but even in those early days you had to compete with your computer against other miners in solo mining before you were able to get coins. Since every computer consumes electricity, especially under load, mining has never been free.

I understand where you are coming from 1 BTC = 1 BTC always.

Free money means it did not have any demand at all. Like Bitcoin Pizza was 10,000 BTC. It was just fun to send 10,000 BTC to have those two Pizza. People used to buy hardware components in exchange of BTC. For them it was FREE in exchange of some coins. For the seller it was also some FREE coins in exchange of their spare hardware. CPU mining did not cost you much it was the same as the laptop you have turned on right now.
2719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My class had their first Bitcoin exercise with my class on: July 13, 2022, 05:26:10 PM
Yes some history about Bitcoin and its leading figures would surely be interesting to the
students particularly the mystery of Satoshi and the Bitcoin wallets left abandonned.
Mostly if OP can show them how to make pocket income from signature campaign and can hook them in the forum. Maybe they will then talk to their parents and they will find it interesting. An educated parent can teach their children better than anyone else.

I would prefer to see these kids are growing up with the dream that they will someday work and get paid in crypto or they will have a business to accept payment/service charge in crypto.

Why not introduce them to bitcoin faucets so each of their wallet can have a small amount
The problem about using bitcoin faucet is that it entails some financial or privacy related risk. And I think that it would do more harm than good.
These days faucets are no profitable like it used to be. It's completely a waste of time. They might lose patience.
2720  Other / Meta / Re: [Merit] Legendary To Newbies Distribution Concern & Problem! on: July 13, 2022, 05:01:40 PM
yeah 10 years in august 2022 means 10 x 365 = 3650 days.

I deleted about 1200 old posts here and there.
I had about 1000 posts deleted by mods or self modded threads. so my true total is likely 42000 posts divide by 3650 and I think I average 12 posts a day.

was more back in the 2012-2018 time frame. maybe 15 a day.
and say from 2018-2022 maybe 9 a day.
That's a crazy number considering that you have not taken any break at all. You must have few weeks busy with something else and did not find time to post.

I used to post a lot few years back. I remember once in a week I had around 147 posts LOL
Then slowly I got busy in real life and I was even not regular for few months. From last few weeks I am feeling that I am back. Yesterday I made almost 15 posts. I am averaging 8 to 9 posts per day now.

Merit was introduced in 2018 and considering the number of posts you make, the average per merit for x number of posts is still low although you have over 4.5k Merits. Some members like n0nce are way to relented.
