2701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Wallet Hacking through Telegram on: December 29, 2021, 03:49:53 PM
Recently i was reading an article where Hackers target crypto wallets through Telegram using Echelon malware is explained.
I have followed the instructions and disabled the Automatic download of media option in telegram. But i fear that many people will keep the auto download option enable because of unaware of this threat.
I wonder how this virus will work and how can they reach to our wallets / exchanges?

That's actually a good tip for everyone to follow not only on telegram but also on other messaging apps.
I always have the habit of disabling the auto media download and hence I am on the safer side anyway but as safety measure I cross checked this on all the messaging apps.
Downloading a file with malware automatically puts our device on risk. No wonder hackers could use this functionality for their benefits.
Thanks for posting this thread as it creates a good awareness among all the people reading it.
2702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I Missed Out of a 10 Year Bitcoin Investment Plan on: December 29, 2021, 03:34:35 PM
Well OP you did not say if you had 50k to invest then and you didn't. That's the actual point where regret should come into place.

Yes, I'd have raise the $50k If I was totally convinced about the investment prospect. I'm not actually regretting though, just sharing the past experience and reminiscing the prospect.

OP forget about the past like everyone else said. Focus on building a firm that can you more fiats which inturn you will invest into bitcoin with your profits.
Sound advice. That's what I'm focused on doing going forward. Trying to raise some fists, convert to crypto, and repeat.

Thanks for the comments.

2011 was indeed a very young age for bitcoin. Anybody would have thought that it was a scam to put such a huge amount of money in a digital coin.
So your actions are completely justified. But if you were an investor back then then you should have looked for such opportunities.
If I had a good amount of money back then and if someone would have told me about such an opportunity then I would definitely not put in $50,000 but would have invested at least $100 in it just for the sake of it.
As an investor, we need to have a mindset to reap on opportunities.
2703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you actually using/buying NFT's, and Gaming Tokens? on: December 27, 2021, 03:58:15 PM
I had bought some NFTs few months back and did make some profits but then later on all of it started dumping.
So I thought not to invest in NFTs anymore but these gaming tokens is getting a good hype ever since the metaverse hype started.
So I am thinking to get into it and buy some gaming/metaverse tokens but most of them are already at peak.

If you buy some, you need to closely follow their updates or any hints what's going on like keeping tab on their social media channels. Because you will get a hint if they are about to exit the game if they are not active anymore. Then, you need to decide to discard it fast before it declines its value. It is hard to trust these NFT-related projects because most of them are just after to fill-up their pockets. And once they got their money, they will disappear in no time.

That's exactly why I stopped buying NFTs. Many of them turned out to be a rug pull. They launched NFTs just to make money.
The price used to increase in the beginning when they used to launch in marketplace but later everybody used to dump those NFTs.
It felt just like the ICO era which is why decided not to buy any NFTs again.
2704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: risk to reward the right balance? on: December 27, 2021, 03:51:29 PM
Stoploss would only be just relevant when you are really making out active trades or day trading but if you are really going for long term then better not to make use of it.Speaking of balance then its a must thing to consider because this had been always the set up when it comes to risk reward ratio.

Always consider out on having balance in between your decisions because not all is really good at this and once you do gain up experience then you would really be finding
the right decisions on regards with your investment if you dont let yourself to be greedy.

Long term holding doesn't require stop loss but it also doesn't require a risk to reward ratio as well.
OP is asking a strategy to maintain a good risk to reward ratio which means either he is doing day trading or short term trading or swing trading.
In all of these cases a good risk to reward ratio can only be achieved with the help of stop losses.
2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple makes a $1 price bull set for 2022 on: December 26, 2021, 04:35:06 PM
As the entire market is in the recovery mode but a slow stage, Ripple one of the most active coins in the last couple of weeks back has made it to All-time high of $1, coin telegraph made the revelation on the news platform this afternoon.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-price-flatlines-as-xrp-hits-1-with-massive-altcoin-move-set-for-2022

The same is happening with other altcoins as well. Many altcoins are rising up again and it's just that some are rising sooner than others.
There is no developments or improvements in ripple which is making the price of XRP increase. It's just because of speculation.

2707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling rating 2021 on: December 26, 2021, 02:16:59 PM
I'm supporting the casino I'm promoting Duelbits they have good feedback from the community so far no complaints or accusations until now, they have huge giveaways almost every month, and they have one of the longest signature campaigns 64 weeks with 72 participants it's everything that you're looking for a reputable casino, They set up a good standard.

I second that. Duelbits has been doing really good since inception. Not only signature campaign but they have the longest chain of contests being hosted on this forum.
Duelbits has gave us the opportunity to take part in so many competitions in the past 1 year. I don't think there is any other gambling casino which has done this.
The site is also so good with the UI and UX and obviously the games.
2708  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: stake.com- Does not have gambling responsibility on: December 26, 2021, 02:02:31 PM
Then next week it did not become the case i was let in able to deposit and play and lose $$$.  All i am asking is to return my 2 last deposit made on my account this is not my fault you guys.

It is indeed your fault. If you have a gambling addiction then it is your fault because you did not control yourself from gambling and losing too much.
If you would have controlled yourself from gambling too much then you would have obviously not lost the money.
It's good that you are trying to restrict yourself from gambling by asking them to ban you but if that's not happening then you shouldn't deposit money at the first place.
You can't blame them for allowing you to gamble but you should blame yourself for gambling without having control on yourself.

Shiba is nothing more than a useless memecoin and it is a far worse investment in my eyes than FUN tokens. I think Shiba is just a temporary hype and hopefully, if the market crashes, 95% of these memecoins will cease to exist. It just got popular thanks to some tweets from Musk but other than that, it has no use at all.
I don't like Shiba at all, it's not even memecoin, it's cheap copy of memecoin. But in terms of intvestment I'm not so sure that's very bad option. Yeah, we don't talk about long term investment. But many people made nice profit in short term, using all this hype. Unfortunately, so far we can't say same things about people who invested in FUN

That's the first time I have ever heard someone call SHIBA like that. A copy of a meme coin. LOL  Grin That does sound true though.
Many people did made profits from SHIBA but that was all because of they hype which FUN token doesn't have.
If there was no hype then SHIBA would have been in a worse condition than FUN token.
Although FUN token has better utility than SHIBA I think FUN token developers should try to make developments around it to create a hype for it.
The premium benefits of FUN token are nice but that alone won't make FUN token rise in price.
2710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fall of fiat|Rise of Bitcoin on: December 25, 2021, 04:06:18 PM
Cointelegraph is garbage, don't use it as your source for news. Here's a better report. Turkey is not adopting Bitcoin like El Salvador did, it's not even close. They actually already banned its use as a currency, and the upcoming law just increases regulations to prevent exit scams by large exchanges like the one that happened recently, at least according to the lawmakers.

Also, your stupid Cointelegraph said that Turkish Lira has dropped in value recently, but in fact it made a huge comeback as it went from $0.06 to $0.094

Which source do you always use for getting latest crypto news ? It might help us getting the right news at the right time.
Wow, I didn't knew they banned the use of it as a currency. But we can still see so many people buying crypto in turkey.
Currently bitcoin is at a premium price in turkey with a price of $52500 in Turkish Lira.
2711  Other / Meta / Re: [HELP ON REFUND] WRONGLY SENT $1000 worth of BTC to copper member payment addres on: December 25, 2021, 03:57:06 PM
This is the most happiest thread I have read in this entire month. Two people losing their money and getting it back.
Still couldn't believe theymos actually did that mistake. This makes me realize we should never take crypto payments for granted.
Although I do double check every time, I guess I will have to quadruple check every time I make a payment.

But thanks to EZ0010 and theymos, faith in humanity is restored  Smiley
2712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Crypto Christmas; Using Bitcoin to help feed the homeless on: December 25, 2021, 02:39:00 PM
That's really nice of you to donate food and clothes to the needy people. It's always a blessing to see crypto being used to help the needy.
I wish you all the good luck to keep up the good work and I wish that this campaigns keeps extending as long as possible.
There's one thing though which is bothering me. The url on the pamplet is bitcointalkforum.org which is a separate site.
It's not the actual bitcointalk forum we are using here. Can anyone shine some light on this ?
2713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Fall of fiat|Rise of Bitcoin on: December 25, 2021, 01:09:57 PM
Lira is the fiat currency of Turkey which is facing a sharp decline in it's value. The rise of inflation in Turkey has dumped the value of Lira.
With an inflation rate of about 20% - 25% the price of Lira has declined about 45% this year with a peak dump of about 20% in a week and 15% in a day.
Those numbers are high enough and causing a panic in the market. The media also say that it might be at the edge of hyperinflation in Turkey.

This has caused a rise in the price of bitcoin in Turkey. People are opting to use bitcoin when the fiat currency is falling sharply.
The inflation has influenced so much that the president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced a crypto law that will soon be shared with the Parliament.
This means crypto will soon be legalized in Turkey. I think it's a good decision and will help Turkey fight inflation well.

2714  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com suddenly banned my Account on: December 25, 2021, 11:31:19 AM
OP is an old forum member created an account since 2013 but he still hasn't post in the stake.com thread and also hasn't thread in the scam section and hasn't posted any relevant proof in this thread either, this is very strange, let's wait for see what he says

One important thing to note. All those deposits OP is talking about was made in 12/2020 which is almost a year ago.
So probably the chat OP had with the customer support would have been cleared by now and hence we won't be able to show us the screenshots if them unless he talked to the customer support recently for a thing that was done a year ago.
I think he would have abused the bonus unknowingly since he made back to back deposits which might have broken the terms of the bonus.
2715  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: December 25, 2021, 11:06:10 AM
We are going to the age of aggressive marketing actually and although we could just say its marketing strategy, being responsible for the result of it should be considered since we don't know who will see the casinos' marketing videos on youtube. There could be kids who don't really have money of thier own and are still dependent on their parents. If the marketing gives false hope for these kids,  they may spend their money, with so little they have, on gambling.
^ These are very common marketing strategies and there are few gambling casinos here doing the same like this, hiring a streamer to upload or to have live video on Youtube with sponsor money whether it is from their own pocket or from the casino itself. In this case, we should guide our children on watching youtube videos, it should not be related to gambling because once they become curious about it this will lead them to gambling addiction.
At least we know and we are aware of it so that it can be avoided, sooner or later those streamers nobody will watch because we know that everything they broadcast is fake.

You are right. Actually it's the same with every other thing on the internet whether it be porn, drugs or gambling.
Being the parent of a child it's their responsibility to keep an eye on what their child is doing and if the child does goes in the wrong direction then the parent has to guide him the right way.
Although marketing in this way is wrong it still doesn't force anybody to start gambling.
Getting attracted to those rewards is kind of obvious but at the end with proper parenting a child won't fall prey for such strategies so easily.
2716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if I don't know how to trade on: December 24, 2021, 04:03:43 PM
I think that trading is not for everyone . Trading is risky, trading requires learning, trading requires a certain mental discipline .
If someone thinks they have it all, they can start learning and playing with small amounts of money.
It is important that it is your money (not credit money), remember there is always a risk)

Wait a second, those sentences sound familiar. Oh wait, I got it!
You are so lazy !!

Wait a second... you've missed something.
How about another start: trading is not for everybody. Trading is risky, trading needs learning, trading needs a certain mental discipline (i.e. balls).
If one thinks he has all this, then he can start learning and playing with tiny amounts
(and clearly no leverage).

And then the other advises of yours start to make sense.

Didn't expect this in the same thread  Grin
2717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blackmail on: December 24, 2021, 03:54:13 PM
If I'm being blackmailed by somebody who asks me to buy bitcoin and pay it to their account why can I not report this to bitcoin?

You cannot report it to bitcoin because bitcoin is not a person or an entity or an organization.
If you are being blackmailed then it doesn't really matter if it's bitcoin or fiat money. You will have to follow the same procedure in both the cases.
Find out the reason why you are being blackmailed. If it's just a scammer trying to blackmail you on email or phone then you can ignore.
If it's something else then may be you need the help of cops.

I believe the same now that I have seen how the SHIB price has gone really low.I bought like 15.500.000 SHIB with about 900 USD and I thought since in crypto 1 cent is nothing if this coin goes to 1 cent I get 155.000 USD and that is one hack of investment.

I was soon disappointed though when I saw how this is going, nevertheless hope die last they say so I am waiting.

You are probably taking it all wrong. Although 1 cent is nothing in crypto but you also have to take other factors into consideration.
The most important factor here is the supply. Just look how large is the supply of SHIBA coins.
The total supply stands at 1k trillion coins. For it to reach $1 it will have to go X3000 times and that is a lot.
2719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A supermarket in Mexico now allows Bitcoin payments for all their items on: December 24, 2021, 02:52:29 PM
This is really amazing. The 20% extra discount for BTC payments is what really excites me. They are basically encouraging people to use bitcoins which is indeed a good thing.
I wish I could get this offer at a store in my location. I would be more than happy to use bitcoin payments.

I don't even believe in a rare case of bitcoin payment in a Mexican supermarket because bitcoin's current default function is no longer in the sense of payment, it is in the sense of future and investment, a user who owns bitcoins cannot be without such rudimentary updates and based on the theory that everyone knows what they are using, plus a greedy personality and aversion to losses, spending in the country's currency will have absolute frequency while bitcoin is kept at zero. Such a supermarket is just a marketing skill, bring noise in the community to gather consumers

Although bitcoin is currently being used more like an investment to make profits it's main motive was to be used as a P2P payment method.
Keeping that in mind and having most of my money into crypto I would choose BTC to pay and receive the extra discount.
May be I would buy that particular amount of BTC back and be happy with the 20% discount.  Grin
2720  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 24, 2021, 02:42:42 PM
That's absolutely correct. Although the price of FUN token has fallen more than 50% it is still a valuable coin to hold.
I have put all my 2500 coins to the 365 days lock in period and it's quite thrilling to see what the price of FUN will be after a year.
I just hope it pumps up and crosses 50 - 75 sats per coin but even it doesn't I won't be sad for it because of the premium benefits I would have availed by then.
It is a solid token and will have more sustainable price when we have to face with bear market. You can love SHIBA and many meme coins but they won't perform good in bear market.

If you see a token has 100, 1000x growth, and if you participate in, you might be rekted in any day by any bad news. FUN does not have such growth so if in bad days, bad period of market, it won't be divided 10 or 100 times. It safer and we have better chance to see its growth.
I feel we can't predict about any coin price but here agree with your statement FUN is having much better than meme coin like SHIBA which badly hurts many peoples recently even still we have some good number of community members those believe in this crap coin, but it's having not future so investing in these coins is just waste of money and if someone wants to have some good then he can invest into this FUN coin which can give some best profit in long run.

Here is another thing, please just invest which you can afford and do your own search before any investment because it's your own money, so you feel better about this all.

You guys are right about SHIBA. Even I believe that meme coins are crap and has no future. It is just a speculative asset.
We can never "invest" in a meme coin but just gamble on it's price going upwards.
FUN token has a better utility which gives it more potential than meme coins like SHIBA.
This is the reason why I prefer to choose FUN and lock it for 1 year.
