Just finished last set of tests so we will be going live with our private pool on the weekend, so far works great the only thing I think I am going to do is migrate the DB to a machine we have with SSD's and a bit more ram to mitigate any future IO problems we may experience.
Keep us posted and I'll throw the link up in the examples sections as soon as its ready ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

These were sent to millions of people. Hell I got one. Don't waste BTC on this.
Agreed, I got one for free along with yahoo ad credit and facebook ad credit. They are easy to come by so if your going to get it don't think its worth $100, I'd say more like $20

Hi guys, what kind of hardware are you using for your pools? Would a 512MB virtual server be sufficient? cheers
521 would be alright for a private pool maybe, The recommended is about 2gb at least, with good CPU in it.

Yes relying on Tor would be more of a hassle to get more users to join teh bitcoin train. Its soo slow aswell!

they can always try to block bitcoin, but it hardly uses a lot of bandwith so why would an isp piss off customers if they had nothing to gain from blocking? its not like BT where massive volumes of traffic is being used. if they did, you can use a vpn.
That's not the point. The point is if they wanted could they. And the answer is no. They can try, but they already have with torrents and failed. Torrents moved to random ports and traffic got encrypted. With Bitcoin it's even easier because you're dealing with very tiny amount of data. If push comes to shove, Bitcoins can be exchanged by sending Email yeah, that comment was a little off topic, but they could still "try" and i doubt we would ever have to come to that level, atm im trying to find this project i learned about a few weeks ago, it was call ip2p or something, it had a .de domain i think, but i cant find it. It could easily be used for bitcoin if memory serves. I'm sorry but i must correct you, not flaming but just saying you didn't really contribute anything really with your last post, and on top of that you criticize mewantsbitcoins for making a valid point.... I just think that deserves some lawls "

Oh various things from just checking worker status to custom graphs to taxation features invite only options ect..
I want to run at a base 2% tax with a option to the user to set a "donation" tax in there user CP none drop down just web forum
custom skinning or various security features sanity checking import export db stuff admin statistics instant payout functions ect.
I wish to make this a small private local pool as i have gotten alot of people in my area into mining and combined we make up about 50 ghs and would like them to run on my pool vs deepbit or slush
Cool Ideas I'm working on worker status and graphs beside each worker right meow. I've already hired a web designer to make a great original template that will be really customizable so your good on flexibility if you want to upload your own stylesheet(that will be after the web design update in version 4). As for the invite only option that sounds like a quick fix I'll have allot of these features done in the next couple of days so check up on Mining Pool #2

I tried that, and Google replied "Did you mean: bitcom.org?".
+1 I vote we don't give a fuck about bitcoin.com ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) +1 to that! I found bitcoinsfrom remembering that you could run a screensaver to donate your cpu cycles when your Away so i had a bright idea to type in donate cpu cycles for cash and found a new world on the internet with its own ecnomoy and constantly active userbase. No no lets not male this main stream let the 4chan children find this one by them selves. Bitcoins shouldnt have to "put it self out there" it should be so explosive that people find out about from word of mouth. When you hear things comming from a close friend youll habe More trusting view point about it instead of finding it out the internet and think its for terrorist and drug money laundering.

warweed, What ideas do you want on your custom mining pool you speak of? My Mining Pool software will have support for modules that can be easily uploaded. Although I have no modules at the moment, I plan on opening an official website that would be like a market place for people to create and upload there own modules and those developers can set the price of BTC of for free. Is this what you had in mind?

is there any manual on setting pushpool up on gentoo?
You can take my tutorial information and look up gentoo packages that are required to run pushpool then install push pool the same way i have in my tutorial

thanks for your work! i have i question about rpc server. what should i use for it? push pool?
Rpc server information will be your RPC information in your config file for bitcoind. RPC server information is used to get information about the bitcoin network and your current balance in your wallet. It is also used for sending payments to users.

It almost seems like we should use a Minutes Per Share graph instead of an Mhash graph since they are so unpredictably inaccurate.

Follow up question: When do I get access if everyone has been wiped and why did you announce that you gave me access with out notifying me, or was the above the announcement?
You got access to the source code on github, the post served as announcement, everyone has access to the pool.bitcoin-central.net instance. Everyone had to be wiped out because I needed everyone to have a valid testnet address after switching to testnet. Cool I see the announcment email. So what's the verdict on the bounty, do you want to go 50/50 since both our programs are basicly the same in terms of functionality & features the only difference is the programming language they are built on, what do you think? and of course what do those that put in a bounty think?

ok I think, think not sure this is the problem line there where 2 sets of brackets it was missing one of the end, I added while($accounts = mysql_fetch_array($getListOfAccountsQ)) however...... i now get PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /var/www/btcfinland/req/cronjob/blockUpdater.php on line 46 Now in my experience php developers always say ignore the warning if they are not fatal so it could be that this worked ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) or not ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) This issue along with the misspelling issue will be updated with the graphing update. Get ready for some Mhash STAT!

So i used this formula and i got 8 hashes per second?
Update: I figured out i did the formula backwards but its still not even close?
$hashesPerSecond = $numShares / $fiveMinutesAgo * 4294967296; The result is 16.345 Hahses/s but my miner runs as 85000 Khash/s
UPDATE: I was using $fiveminutesago, and not the amount of time that has passed

I have can purchase tobacco pipes, water pipes at wholesale price. But i would like to know how many people are intrested in tobacco products before i invest in such a thing.
lol, I like how you ask "stoners" about "tobacco products" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But yeah, I'd be interested. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) you like that huh Well i cant sell pipes for the intended use other than tobacco. If it was for marijuana I'd id have to verify your 215 and you'd have to send me a copy of your id so i can verify. Its a whole mess.
