Could you make the left side of the symbol look more like a small i ?  So the symbol actually spells IXC?  Also, red and black theme?

Something along the following lines,  but a dot instead of a star?

Could you make the lettering in red?

Could you make the "i" a lower case i?

Well we could make a new meme coin etc. I have a few ideas similar to doge coin that would advertise on the same principle. With large exposure. But I hate the whole idea of it so haven't done anything about it.

4chan and reddit are responsible for doges success for the same reason as teenage girls large for boy bands. They'll like the band no matter what, if it ticks the box of boys singing.

Doge ticks the box of everyday meme commonly used. It becomes funny to the point where it's referenced in every thread. Then the coin comes along and the consensus is that it's a great idea, as well as being a coin, which adds to the belief that it's anti government, and hey ho, you hit the teenage/young 20's bracket.

Memes don't really last (just like fads),  so the coins should also be throwaway.

Also a meme coin also needs a mechanism to mine it,   you can devise all kinds of games to do this.

Your coin should not be SHA nor Scrypt it should be a coloured coin or based on a totally different consensus method than blockchains.

(But one that works, we don't yet though really know if any other approach actually works...)

-MarkM-

I don't even know why there would need to be a different consenus method.

The corporation would own the coin,  it would issue its coin with the proper unlocking methods.

From the perspective of tying a coin to a product, the whole notion of mining coins with compuation absolutely does not make sense.

For each NUDC,  one can create a separate module that handles how the coin gets distributed.   To get the each newly minted coin each address just needs to show 'proof' of the winning condition to the issuing address and new coins are issued to the winning address.

Just stick to the original plan.

A proof of concept on top of the iXcoin platform.

Let the other guy worry about the lawsuits!
2727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 17, 2014, 09:41:30 PM
I think someone needs to analyze where Dogecoin posted their stories to figure out how to create similar buzz.

Difference between that buzz and any buzz you attempt to create is simple:

You or anyone else here, isn't 4chan. It took off with the added backing of 4chan and reddit. The exposure it got via 4chan alone was enough to create hundreds maybe thousands of new investors.

Unfortunately we aren't a meme or a popular anon forum.

That's where doge coin succeeded. It capitalised on a meme and hype of it.

Well thanks for the background.

We just have to wait till the NUDC implementation to get real buzz.  We could create a new meme coin every time a new meme is created!

i a little bit bigger.

X a little taller and thinner

X doesn't appear to be aligned

My apologies for being nitpicky but a quality logo is important.

Announcing the Launch of TeslaCoin.

iXcoin is adding Native Colored Coins and TeslaCoin will be the first to ride on top of iXcoin's ultra secure network.

This would be an excellent proof of concept.

Start thinking of applications.

(1) Reservation of access to a leased vehicle.   A smart property is created that can unlock the parked car at a certain time (see: zipcar).

(2) Electric charge credits.   Issue credits to use Supercharger network.

(3) Generate solar power and earn credits for supercharger network.
2731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 17, 2014, 09:13:53 PM
Heck it could be done as smart property, so each Tesla car's ownership is determined by the blockchain and the car checks who owns it on the blockchain to decide who is allowed to start its engine...

-MarkM-

No man... go one stop further.  Smart Property determines the time when you have access to the self driving tesla vehicle.   No sense in having that Tesla sitting in the parking lot doing nothing when it can drive itself to another customer and ferry him to the groceries.

So if you got that teslacoin.com domain... go generate a coin at coingen.io  then start mining it!

Hosting it on top of iXcoin can come later.

But selling the coin with the domain name should fetch you more than just the domain name.

Hopefully this TeslaCoin would be a coloured coin that runs on top of IXCoin?

Unless he thinks IXCoin is not secure enough and insists on making it a coloured coin that runs on top of Bitcoin?

-MarkM-

Exactly!

Massive Hype + Stupid People = Massive stupid Profits.

Just imagine if/when hype or real demand hits iXcoin?  This coin is so tightly wound that it can pop to $10 in a matter of days.

So are we still gonna see that PR on Monday?

I'm now getting offers on 2 domain names:  TeslaCoin and ZionCoin so I may have enough money to reboot my old LLC's and launch a PR Campaign of my own.

My PR's would be totally legit, I will not sell any coins on just my spike.  I say this as other coins have done PR's not to inform but to pump and dump their coins.  This is not my intent as I have been buying from half a penny all the way to now, 12 cents (in order to replace the bounty I gave Friction).  Pumpers don't buy all the way up - they dump it all which I have never done.

Where are you selling your domain names?  I got a couple of *coin domain names that maybe I should unload.
2735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 17, 2014, 08:15:15 PM
what perplexes me is where all the buying for Doge is coming from.  I have been mining and dumping the coin for over 2 weeks now.  Still no let up from buyers.   Insane.

Probably same person buying high and selling low.

I have had buy and sell orders sitting untouched for weeks because someone is buying slightly higher than my highest untouched buy order and selling slightly lower than my lowest untouched sell order.

Basically they seem content to take a smaller percent on all orders instead of a larger percent on only those orders that reach up or down farther than this narrow band in which they have been confining it.

-MarkM-

Feathercoin also has a lot of volume for a coin.  Perhaps the early adopters are so wealthy that they are able to create a market?

Do we have bots that are able to make money via market making activities?
2736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT vs Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin and Quark on: January 17, 2014, 07:53:44 PM
100% Proof of stake.

Have these Belarussian programmers ever heard of a stock exchange?

That's what it is, issuing stock is 100% proof of stake.

So where's the innovation?
2737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 17, 2014, 07:48:39 PM
DOGE got onto VIrcurex because Vircurex is starved for volume and DOGE had good volume.

I nearly dropped Vircurex at that point, and still consider it a very bad sign that they didn't replace some other crappy scrypt coin(s) when they put DOGE in, since DOGE has more difficulty/security than any of them but litecoin so if it is even reasonable at all to have more than one scrypt coin DOGE would be the logical choice as the runner-up / also-ran scrypt coin, the rest are just toys waiting to be looted.

Is this still on?
I made this:

Yes.  Still on.  I like your submission.

Could you do this with a small i on the left of the X?   Also could you use a red branding theme?

If you can do this:

2739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] NEW IXCOIN LOGO DESIGN - 100 IXC on: January 17, 2014, 07:41:05 PM

Not as good as I had visualized.  Scratch suggestion about the arrows... too complicated.

Maybe the previous one, just make the i bigger and use a circle.  Exten the X all the way to the end of the circle.   (Like the X in X-men logo)

2740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 17, 2014, 07:22:05 PM

Dexter44 got a message from the CEX.IO folks that the IXC exchange is scheduled for February.

The trading at Cryptsty is more dynamic that Vircurex.  The only problem is, there aren't many IXC coins at Cryptsy.  You could by 10 BTC worth and it'll drive the price to go up 100%.

I wouldn't risk using Cryptsy at all, its entire purpose seems to be to enable as many scams as possible as quickly as possible so it is hard not to just throw their entire operation into the scam category itself.

So basically one has to figure it is not whether they will run with your money, it is when they will do so...

And maybe the answer to that is, when scamming people stops looking so profitable, as in, when enabling scammers to cash in on their scams ceases to be so lucrative it will be time to scam all the scammers by running with their money.

-MarkM-

A rock and a hard place?   An honest but incompetent exchange like Vircurex  versus a dubious but more dynamic exchange like Cryptsy.

Cryptsy apparenly has a lot of trading volume lately from the likes of Mega, Quark and Doge.   Quark is definitely a scam.  Doge is definitely good marketing and gullible late buyers.
