2721  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Microwallet.org - API + free faucet script, start your own faucet! on: January 04, 2015, 04:46:48 AM
faucet owners, be prepared for a swarm of botters: http://thebot.net/threads/faucet-bot.299472/
thebot.net community is a piece of shit. I wonder if there is anything site owners can do to stop this.

Since I knew the owner of Microwallet barely does anything for their faucet service, I never bothered to sign up with them and went with FaucetBOX instead, although I also decided to do DOGE and not Bitcoin so I would have had to.

Anyway, it seems they're targeting Microwallet specifically and only the captchas: recaptcha, and solvemedia. Is there a way for those with Microwallet faucets to change captcha services?
any faucet, regardless of the wallet service is susceptible

Quote
Faucetbox had a place for Are You Human?, and I decided to use that, so I was wondering if Microwallet has any way to easily change to a captcha the bots won't get through...
the botter is using a webservice to solve recaptcha and solvemedia, and is paying for that service. areyouhuman captchas are hackable and the botter wouldn't even need to pay, so it would be more profitable to target faucets using that captcha: http://spamtech.co.uk/software/bots/cracking-the-areyouhuman-captcha/  . that's from 2012 and they haven't changed much.

where can people get copies of those bots if there any out there?

Seriously?

If things like this get out, faucet owners will stop having faucets since they won't be profitable, and then where will we be? Faucets are great for new users to get introduced to cryptocurrencies. People shouldn't be bringing them down for a few lousy bucks.

Exactly. This point is absolutely correct. If too many people exploit, we will just shut our faucets down. That's how it works Tongue

lame. i was trying to warn faucet owners, not encourage dishonest cheapskates.

I agree, thanks for the warning. People who want to use the scripts should think twice before using it! Think of all the faucet owners!
2723  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [coinichiwa] 25,000,009th bet on: January 04, 2015, 03:22:25 AM
My guess is that your banged your head on your number keypad and got this number.

Or.....

250,000,001+1-1+1-1x0+250,000,009 is 250,000,009

Does it have anything to do with the birth of Bitcoin? In this thread there were a lot of good guesses but they were all wrong...
2724  Economy / Services / Re: Watoshi's Weird Services - Random number generator. Better than random.org on: January 04, 2015, 03:17:23 AM
Random generated by computers is not really random at all. Why your services is better than the others?

My service uses 100% brain. No computers involved.  Grin

How high quality is your service? Do you pick these numbers with extreme concentration, thinking a whole day about them and making a masterpiece of numbers, or do you just bang your head against the keyboard? Do you have any past clientele reviews? A portfolio would be nice!

JK, good luck with your service!
2725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto is from Europe on: January 04, 2015, 03:10:56 AM
He is english, im sure

Definitly. He definitely speaks English, and very good english at that. He could also be a Japanese born in America/Europe, but it's certain he speaks good english.

It's hard to say, we can't come conclusion either.

"Satoshi Nakamoto" is actually is Japanese name ,so it's believed satoshi is a Japanese.

I personally think Satoshi is a Japanese born in America.

2726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday Bitcoin! on: January 03, 2015, 10:33:15 PM
Happy BTCitday to bitcoin! May it prosper and grow!

Sadly, today the bitcoin price dropped to 291.8

Oh well. Should go up later.
2727  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Interrogate a Killer - Win BTC on: January 03, 2015, 10:13:23 PM

2728  Economy / Speculation / Re: almost died on: January 03, 2015, 09:53:22 PM
BTC

when i saw the price this afternoon.

I agree, I started using bitcoin this summer, so I have never seen the price this low. However, I wouldn't worry. Should go back up sometime soon.
2729  Economy / Digital goods / Re: CryptoScripts Dice v1.1 -- RUN YOUR OWN CASINO -- Invest/Non-invest on: January 03, 2015, 09:45:56 PM
before buying you should be aware that it might have backdoors
I assure you (my trust does also) that this does not have back doors. If a reputable admin or mod wants to see the files and verify they can if they want. Also if l I'm charging money for it what would be the need to backdoor?
well your trust is almost zero and why not to steal more money if it would appear to be successful?
15 positive trust (and no negative or neutral), and this account is almost hero, and I've had it for almost 2 years. Why would I trash it if I'm making lots of money and have been building up the trust for 2 years. Just to scam a couple dollars?
well it can turn to more than a few dollars if its successful but i guess i was wrong i agree with the fact that you would not do that because you are hero member

If he was trying to scam, he would have released this script for free so more people would use it while he would get cash from a backdoor. Many trustworthy users have reported that the script worked. (Check his trust, click on "Show untrusted feedback")
2730  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Chuck Norris jokes :-) on: January 03, 2015, 09:23:18 PM
Could someone explain who Chuck Norris is? Is he supposed to be amazing at everything? Is that what these jokes are about?

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=chuck+norris

I'm surprised you could do that. Usually, when you try to google Chuck Norris, nothing appears because google is afraid of searching him up.
2731  Other / Meta / Re: Why Simple Machines forum & not anything else ?. on: January 03, 2015, 06:00:23 PM
The forum got compromised even through avatars. I don't know how wise it will be to leave it exposed, the incentive to attack this is very high.
Does anyone have a link to the main thread where this 2013 security breach was discussed? I'd be interested in
what exactly happened back then.
It's not "just" for this forum, it could be a competitor to all the other forums. If they do it right, it could be quite a boon for bitcoin.
That's true. Will epochtalk be available for free? I guess not, given the >350k dev costs. So one should price licenses competitively and sell only for bitcoins..

Not found the thread but found a video of apparently what the hack did:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKrOHAfMdxI

That hacker must have a sense of humor, lol.

What the hell lol , this is really happened on the website ? It looks a video montage to me Shocked  btw here is more informations about the hack , found this on the description of that video => http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1nmdq4/bitcointalk_hacked/
also more info here : http://cryptolife.net/bitcointalk-hacked/

Yes all else aside, it was pretty funny. Would pop up a dialog box with a progress meter that said it was converting your bitcoins to cosbycoins.

Maybe that could be implemented as an April fools joke? Anyways, did you guys catch the hacker, or at least know who he is?

Anyways, I found this picture, it is one of the things the hacker did.

2732  Economy / Services / Re: Prize = 0.10 bitcoin - ActionCrypto.com signature contest - ENTER ! on: January 02, 2015, 10:16:33 PM
...
Pretty interesting why don't you do this by yourself ... you're not making anymore signatures?

The admin of the site  want to see some entries , and I think it would be better to open a contest. Here there are really some good users that make a great signatures.
Who will choose the winner you or  ActionCrypto ?

I would like to ability to have all users vote on it.

All users? Do you mean a vote for the winner? If so, maybe you shouldn't do that, as the person with the most alt accounts/friends on the forum will win. I think you should choose the winner yourself, or with redsn0w.
2733  Other / Meta / Re: Why Simple Machines forum & not anything else ?. on: January 02, 2015, 09:18:05 PM
I am excited for the new forum, but I hope it doesn't look too different from the current version of this forum, as I am used to it.
2734  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Want a google voice number even if you live ouside the US? Your own US phone #! on: January 02, 2015, 09:04:21 PM

I have replied to your PM Smiley
2735  Economy / Services / Re: Prize = 0.10 bitcoin - ActionCrypto.com signature contest - ENTER ! on: January 02, 2015, 08:44:17 PM
Hey guys ,

I'm searching for a full set of signatures of a good quality , color , and specially *actractive*.  I will give 0.10 btc as prize , then start to post your entry  Cheesy!

This is the site https://actioncrypto.com   , thanks for the attention.

*The contest will end in  the 4th december January 2015 at 24.00 GMT.

Ends end of this year?! Everyone will forget about it before then...

Fixed I was wrong  Grin , I meant the 4th of January.

Haha OK, I was wondering about that too. Reserved, I will probably enter if I have time.
2736  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the best poster of 2014 ? on: January 02, 2015, 08:35:27 PM
I think if it was to happen it would have to be for something that couldn't be exploited and mere votes/voting could unfortunately.
This is so true. If there was a vote where the winner gets bitcoins, we'll see the weirdest stuff
going on for sure. Automated account-creating and voting. We would witness a nice arms race of
account-creation-and-voting scripts Cheesy

I agree, maybe the contest could be for a cool custom status for a certain time? Or perhaps a title under/over the username stating that you won. I also do not think the contest should be for bitcoins.
2737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with 5.9 mBTC on: January 02, 2015, 05:54:37 AM
Well, in my opinion you can't really do anything with 0.005. Is that $1? I think you should hold it, save it, but I understand that you don't want to hold it. There aren't many options, as in real life you can't really do anything with $1 either. Here is what I came up with:

1) Invest in a ponzi. (Not recommended)
2) Gamble it. (Not recommended)
3) Give it to a charity. (Probably the best thing to do, it's for a good cause.)
4) Buy something cheap, in the digital goods section some people sell Minecraft accounts and Netflix accounts for less than $1.

I still think you should hold onto it, but best of luck doing something with your 0.005!
2738  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Primedice 2015 Giveaway Round 1 on: January 02, 2015, 01:20:59 AM
Username: Superhitech

I would like to see an invest feature, and perhaps a smoother mobile experience.
2739  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban the person above you (jokingly). on: January 01, 2015, 07:46:25 AM
You have been banned for 1 year due to your username not containing numbers.

(MY ENGLISH SUCKS, SO...)  Wink

Banned because your ENGLISH SUCKS.  Wink

Banned for insulting someone else's english.
