southerngentuk, we have a new Hashing Power option that will go live tomorrow. Can't say what it is right now, but you'll see it.

<conspiracy-theory>

"All that Hashing Power that we have not been shipping out and have been quietly mining with in the background ? Yeah, we're going to start turning that into a hosted solution we can monetize for the business instead. All these refunds are really starting to hurt our bank account and we desperately need to start thinking about finding ways to generate more revenue streams."

Pencil me in for 50 chips and assembly costs with a community project.

Resistance is futile.
2724  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Seeking advice on a BFL 60ghs purchase on: September 16, 2013, 01:20:04 PM
I'm a bit nervous about lots of 400GH/s + boxes coming out and making my investment a pretty bad one.

As a purchaser of a couple of those 400GH/s boxes you speak of, I can't recommend making this purchase given the more economical options becoming available through October/November.

Personally, I've purchased Bitfury products for the rest of my 2013 miners, as I don't see any other reliable options before the new year.
2725  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [WARNING] Do not sign for any BFL package you plan to get a refund on! on: September 16, 2013, 06:03:52 AM
My gut is telling me there is some trolling going on.

Would be very interested to see verified reports of the allegations being made that orders have been "force shipped" as a result of a chargeback/refund request.

Edit: Wellokthen. So the evidence has been presented, and does not look good for Butterfly Labs.

I think people here should show some evidence that they really were shipped out of order before anyone really believes it...
Could just be a mistake, a coincidence, ... or an effort to trigger mass refund requests.

Those pictures aren't just great, they're inspiring!
Thanks!! Tell that to Steamboat, please!! He's ready,no doubt  Wink  It really is too bad Y I FU dropped the pooch  Angry

Nice seeing those photos, but was there really any doubt that Steamboat was anything other than an honest guy ? Either way, nice seeing this stuff, and here's hoping he gets some chips in this week after Zefirs batches shipped.
2727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fanboys vs the ROIers... The Custom Hardware Divide! on: September 15, 2013, 08:47:50 PM
FWIW, I got in with GPU mining in mid-2011, paid off my GPU rigs when I sold a bunch of BTC when it hit $250 USD, and the pile of BTC I'm left sitting on is "play money" that I'm having fun with.

In this for the fun and as a hobby.
2728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters or NanoFuiry NF1? A List. on: September 15, 2013, 08:29:11 PM
My best performing hubs are the "GEARMO" 10 port 3.0.  Also, have an AITECH 10 port that does not perform as well as I expected based on reviews here.

+1 on the Gearmo 10 ports. Very nice hubs. Looking to purchase a couple more, but can't seem to find them available on Amazon.com at this time Sad
2729  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter USB]0.10BTC-0.12BTC, Distribution Re-Opened on: September 15, 2013, 04:06:16 AM
Taking into account a price drop of half on usb and blade ASICs within the next month, my best guesstimate would be difficulty leveling off around November to mid December.

FWIW, I don't see difficulty starting to level off before 3rd quarter 2014.

Steamboat.

It looks like all of Zefir's batches shipped. Perchance have you heard anything from Avalon or received anything yet ?
2733  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: September 14, 2013, 09:46:35 PM
New blade rig, switching out my eruptors against blades right now.

There is room for total ten blades in this rig.

2736  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 13, 2013, 10:19:44 PM
ps: I have an october h-board #13X and another (unpaid) #8XX. Will these ship together, and/or will either of them ship along with my starter kit once the m-boards deliver? I know the october timeframe is still fairly uncertain, but it may make practical sense to combine the shipping costs to canada for these.

I imagine they would ship separately; I have an October order 5xx and another 9xx order, and it would not seem fair to me to ship the 9xx order along with the 5xx order.

 My 0.02 BTC FWIW.
2737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 13, 2013, 07:56:25 PM
One way or another, you will not lose earnings from this.  We are not BFL or Avalon.  I will follow up on this when possible.

Feeling really good about my orders right about now Wink Very much looking forward to October.

 Cheers !
2738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 13, 2013, 05:54:37 AM
Dave - we see new (September) chips pricing announced on the EU web site. Is a similar change coming to the US site as well?
Or are the new chips only going to be available via the EU one? Also, the EU lists pricing for reels only - the old 10chips option was a nice one for small orders. Is something like that going to be available again? (or something in vicinity of 100 chips eventually)
How about October pricing?
October reels just landed on the site - $30/chip.

... and DIY projects go crazy ...

Place your bets, folks.

Confirmed bets: 97 ( No: 43  /  Yes: 54 )

Disclosure: I've placed a 2 BTC bet they won't deliver to customers before Oct 1st.
2740  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: PSA: Do NOT buy Bitfury BF1 USB Miner - It will not ROI. on: September 12, 2013, 01:22:13 PM
12 months + for ROI is NOT reasonable!

Traditional investors would disagree with you.
