2721  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If crypto is banned in my country on: April 04, 2021, 05:55:27 PM
If in future, crypto is completely banned in my country and holding, trading mining become illegal, can I go to some foreign country on the pretext of doing some job and sell my crypto once I landed in foreign land and come back in my country with all the money?
Will that be considered illegal? How can I move my money back to my country?
Can I just say that I did some business in foreign country and this is all the profit?.
Anyone has any better suggestions to dispose off my crypto holdings if such situation arises?

There will be still question around the source of funds! It will happen when you will repatriate your funds to your own country. There will be inevitably questions coming your way from the tax authority of your country because that fund will have to be reported to them. That's a bad idea if you are holding a sizable amount of cryptos in your portfolio.

If crypto gets banned in your country in future, there will still be many ways to convert it. Especially p2p trades will come to your rescue just similar to what happened in Nigeria. Just be cautions not to convert a whole lot of money in one go, rather prefer small amount of conversion at certain interval.

Another way is gift. If you have any relative in foreign countries, ask them to send your money to you as a one time gift. This way you will pay taxes on this, but it will be legally cleared. Hope this helps!
2722  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fraud company localbitcoins.com (any goverment hotline to complain) on: April 02, 2021, 01:43:57 PM
Hi,

since btc rised like hell i try to look into my localbitcoins.com account, but my account got locked and all my bitcoins got lost.

At the first time I used localbitcoins.com i deposit my BTC, then I found out I am not allowed to trade and need to verify first, but localbitcoins.com always rejected my verification request.  I half year to verify my account but they always reject.
At the beginning they answered after 3 days, but later then the never replied anymore.

In China is a Hotline to report scam companies, my question is is there a similar Hotline in Finland or anything else I can do?

I am not sure why is your documents are not accepted, but I am using localbitcoins since a long time and my account is level 2 verified. I just had to use my passport for verification and everything went super smoothly. What kind of documents are you using for verification?

Localbitcoins would not scam your money that's for sure! My trading volume is quite heavy and lucrative to the scammers but I have never ever faced any issue with them!
2723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chipotle free Bitcoin giveaway on: April 02, 2021, 06:38:28 AM
Actually, it wasn't a joke lol.

One of the articles emphasized precisely that:

No Joke: Chipotle to Give Away $200K in Free Burritos and Bitcoin on April 1

This type of news is important for mass adoption.

I am not sure how such things would help in mass adoption but yes, it is a cleaver way to promote your own business! And I see they have succeeded doing that! Crypto mags are all over talking about this increasing the companies brand equity in the online market and online population. So Chipotle is enjoying their marketing campaign and success. Mass adoption might not be underway due to this but it will just push the name "Bitcoin" to some more people and that's it along with the name "Chipotle" and I believe that's the end goal of such campaign! Smiley

2724  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Robot trading: +1% per day, is it possible ? on: April 02, 2021, 06:30:19 AM
Hi Guys!

Just want to share this new Robot trading I just found!
The platform is very nice, and they promise 1% revenue per day!
It’s crazy, but it’s been 12 days it’s active and I made 41$ off my 456$ deposit!
What is your experience about automatic robot trading ?

If you’re interrested in this robot, let me know by sending an email at:
oliv345678@gmail.com
I have made an easy tutorial, steps by steps, let me know!!
Cheers

Lol! Anything that offers a daily return on your investment is ponzi and nothing else! If 1% daily return was even possible on any investment, people wouldn't have worked their ass off to make a living. No such robots exist and no such investment schemes exist in the real world. What exists, is ponzi scams who tries to steal money in the name of new technology and investments. So beware before sending any details to this scammer!
2725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did you start? on: April 01, 2021, 02:47:10 PM
Hey gamblers,

Some of us have plenty of time to visit casinos, some have less spare time. Some of us have played for years, some are just starting out.
Nevertheless, how much time you have, gambling is still a perfect way to have a great time, right?

And here comes my question = how long have you been in the gambling world and where did you start - in crypto casino, in a fiat online casino or in a land based casino?

Share your journey Wink

Thanks,
Karl from Bitcasino

Considering the legislation in my country on gambling,  I started with fiat casino which was very popular back in 2010. I don't remeber the name now but they had to shut their ops along with the Liberty Reserve crackdown.

Then it comes to crypto casinos in recent times. I don't usually gamble with an aim to get rich. It's just some quality time that I look in crypto casinos and that's it. So I don't risk a lot of money either. Whenever I play in crypto casinos, I just make sure to follow one rule - never play with anything that you can't afford to loose.
2726  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm afraid of the crypto craze in Korea. on: April 01, 2021, 01:00:40 PM
I'm also a crypto industry worker, but these days, the Korean crypto market seems to be really too dangerous. It is becoming more speculative than investment, very concerned. Along with the frenzy of cryptos following real estate and stocks, the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider and wider, and this seems to flow in the opposite direction to the value we hoped for through bitcoin, which is very frustrating.

Bitcoin was always a speculative asset! Since when did you see value investing in bitcoin market? Even if you have seen, that's a very minor percentage of the the crypto users. Bitcoin is flourishing around the world because people are able to make money out of it. If its price comes down to zero, no one would care about it anymore!

Also bitcoin never actually helped the disparity between the rich and poor. It had a chance to do so during its initial days but that's long gone! My suggestion is to think about yourself and get into the game to make your pocket a little more heavier!
2727  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Fidelity is filing a Bitcoin ETF! on: April 01, 2021, 06:26:14 AM
Well! Someone senior in Fidelity possibly understands the changing financial scenario in the market and acting quickly on it to grab the opportunity before it's gone for good! In this dynamic market scenario, it is easy to loose an opportunity just in a blink of eye. So a calculated but faster approach is needed to seize that opportunity and to make the business model sustainable! That's what it is!

I am sure we will see more and more such regulatory requests coming from other big fund management houses in coming months. because after Elon invested billions into bitcoin, it increases the credibility of bitcoin among the common literate people. So the business houses are stepping forward to make that happen for the common people and to fill their coffers. Nothing new in it but certainly exciting when a big brand like Fidelity associates themselves with bitcoin!
2728  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing NFTs for forum members on: April 01, 2021, 05:25:31 AM
Many forum users have invested a lot of time into the forum, so why not turn this time-equity into tradeable commodities? You can now trade forum NFTs (fNFTs):
https://bitcointalk.org/fnft.php

We are using a state-of-the-art blockless-blockchain-database to avoid any annoying fees or wait times. Everything is done using a convenient Web interface. We have also automatically detected how many bitcoins you have to trade with, so no need to worry about deposits or withdrawals.

Features:
 - You automatically get the full set of fNFTs in your own series, from lowest rarity (I) to highest rarity (up to XI). The number of fNFTs in your series depends on your activity. Note that more than one copy of a particular fNFT can exist in the system: they're like trading cards, with rarities.
 - You can get a random fNFT for 50 BTC. A great deal, no? How could you not make money long-term?
 - You can list any of your fNFTs for sale.
 - You can buy fNFTs listed for sale by others.

I can get the dark sarcasm behind this new introduction of FNFTs. It shows NFTs has no value in real world and we must not be using real money to buy one! Sure we can use our forum created money to buy/sell FNFTs and feel rich, but it doesn't matter in real world. Thanks to Theymos for this whole system made out of joke to give a real life feeling how a joke should be like! I love your sarcasm! Long live bitcoin!
2729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will I be able to have profit from mining ETH in next 2-3 years with single 3080 on: March 31, 2021, 07:24:53 PM
Hello everybody,

I started mining ETH one month ago with single RTX 3080.I'm very new to all this and I still have lot to learn so please don't hate me if I ask stupid questions.
I know that ASIC was announced to be released in July and it will make mining more difficult for GPU miners.
I also know that transition to ETH 2.0 has began in December 2020 and we're in faze ''0''.
Some say that POW will end around 2024 and POS will begin.
I'm not too much familiar with things with going to POS and how less profit can I expect as time passes.
I have single RTX 3080 and I'm earning around $180 per month after I pay for electric bill.
I'm getting around 94Mh/s with my GPU and with current difficulty I get around 0.00460 ETH daily.

Since you're a lot longer in mining and have much more experience and knowledge,I would like to ask you to tell me your opinion if I'll have profit of at least $100 with payed electric bill in next 2 or maybe even if possible 3 years (I know 3 years is a bit too long)?

I don't plan to sell my ETH,but instead wait for value to jump for around $10000-15000 per ETH in around 2025. and then sell it.
I say $10000-$15000 per coin because that's what many say is realistic prediction.

So,judging by release of ASIC and transition to ETH 2.0 and POS,will I still be able to mine ETH with single RTX 3080 with success and decent profitability in next few years?

Hi, welcome to the world of mining! 94 MH/s is a lot of power as on date but things will not remain as it is in 2-3 years for sure! You can use the below calculator to see your profitability.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth

But once ETH 2.0 will be launched, you will quickly have to find a new coin to mine because it will be moving to POS algorithm. I think the best way to make profit is to hold your ETHs for now and sell it at a higher rate in future. I see you are ultra bullish with ETH. While I don't think ETH will go to 15k in 3 years but it definitely has the potential to reach at least 5-7k realistically.

So mine whatever you can now and wait for a better time to sell and book profit.
2730  Economy / Gambling / Re: WeedPunkz | NFT Trading Cards | NEW Website OUT! Enter to win a free NFT! on: March 31, 2021, 04:58:40 PM
Lol! People are selling from crap to garbages in the name of NFT and it is a great tool for money laundering. I don't think I need to explain how NFT is helping in money laundering. But it is a crap basically! Makes no sense at all to common public.

How on earth a JPG file can cost 69 million!!! It's surprising to see even many new companies are joining this bandwagon. I guess everyone is just after some free money!
2731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: sharply diverged expectations for bitcoin on: March 31, 2021, 04:54:36 PM
Bitcoin should have a crazy drop at some point. It can't always go up. And some early adopters will want to sell at some point, so, if a guy comes with 10,000 btc to sell them, for sure that will crash the markets.

The issue here is... we don't know when it will happen, and how deep will be the crash. Only time will show us the truth.

Very much so! People who are entering at this market, may face a big erosion of their investment when the market will correct. As you correctly pointed out, we don't know when it will happen so we need to be very very cautious before investing our hard earned money into this super high market.

Problem is that people suffer from FOMO phobia. So this is what makes some people enter into this market and loose their investment. In the meantime, it's wise to continue with swing trading. Buy at low and sell at high!
2732  Local / India / Re: 5 Questions to Ask if you belong to the Indian Crypto Community on: March 31, 2021, 01:50:17 PM

  • Why after so much negativity suddenly there is a positive outlook on mainstream media?
  • Why suddenly the government is asking top companies to reveal their investment in cryptocurrencies?
  • Why suddenly one day our respected FM decided to stop the FUD?
  • Why was Binance allowed to invest in WazirX?
  • Why Coinbase is hiring Indian IT professionals suddenly?

The government of India had faced great criticism after their initial report from inter ministerial committee led by Mr. Garg. So they are not trying to rush the decision of banning. What they are trying now is called risk reward analysis. They are trying to understand how the government will benefit financially from the crypto holders and how much they will loose if they ban it.

I even heard that FM is trying to consider GST on crypto transactions. But nothing has been confirmed yet. So what all mainstream media is doing is simple speculation.

I am hopeful that India probably will not ban crypto but they will definitely try to impose heavy taxes on crypto transactions and gains. See, we all are speculating here!
2733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a business on: March 30, 2021, 05:03:01 PM
I see most gamblers dress up early in the morning with strategies on how to win a bet. Most often this fellows has nothing else that adds value to their pockets except what ever winnings the make from their gamble. Could gambling be called a business or does it in anyway have  business attributes?

Most gamblers risk all their assets with the mind of making multiple returns from massive odds. In most cases it turns out successful but in someother case the game turns against them. In real sense should gambling be a source of lively hood or should it be termed a side hustle.

People spend time developing skills on gambling. I understand its a fast way of generating cool funds that could tackle some pressing issues but what if it doesn't come out as planned could there be an alternate plan or would you go home hopeless?

For me gambling is more like a fun activity which I do with my spare cash. I mean something I personally can afford to loose with having any mixed feelings.
Most times I gamble with left over money meant careless expenditures. Risking more than I can afford has cost me a whole fortune at a point and I had to deploy a management system for myself to help curb my excessive losses.

Betting is really fun if guided with caution and  highly profitable is greed is far away from from gambling. Most times predictions could be right but greed could come in to compromise with our instincts. What would you think of this can we call gambling a business for gamblers?

I was surprised to see the subject line of your thread but realized that you are asking from a perspective of a gambler. Yes, you will find professional gamblers in the market who makes a living out of it, especially from sports betting or poker game. But it's highly unlikely to find a professional gambler who lives on the slot machine.

So as you can see there are different gambling activities available. What you normally see in online casinos, are not fit for a professional gambler. But for sports betting and poker games, it is made for the professional gamblers and very much depends on your knowledge and skills. So yes, gambling is a serious business!
2734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges With Lots of Scam Coins on: March 30, 2021, 02:33:24 PM
Besides UNISWAP and PANCAKESWAP, what else exchanges have plenty of scam coins?

What are the scam coins there? So everybody can take note.

Uniswap having scam coins?? Can you please explain instead of throwing a statement out of nowhere? Uniswap is a new swap platform and all coins that are listed there, are active. So I would like to hear from you!

Yobit is definitely that one exchange where you will find a lot of dead coins still listed. Also they often introduces new coins that goes inactive after few days of trading. So Yobit is definitely an exchange that encourages scam coin business.
2735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal created crypto checkout service!! on: March 30, 2021, 12:17:25 PM
Customers who hold bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash and litecoin in PayPal digital wallets will now be able to convert their holdings into fiat currencies at checkouts to make purchases, the company said.

The service, which PayPal revealed it was working on late last year, will be available at all of its 29 million merchants in the coming months, the company said.

“This is the first time you can seamlessly use cryptocurrencies in the same way as a credit card or a debit card inside your PayPal wallet,” President and CEO Dan Schulman told Reuters ahead of a formal announcement.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-crypto-currency-paypal-exclusive-idUSKBN2BM10N

Another bitpay like service is in the making it seems! But considering the brand reputation and the merchant base, it can be a good move to push the crypto to another level higher in terma of mass adoption. So I will welcome thia move by Paypal especially after the mess they had created after enabling users to purchase cryptos from them.

Hopefully, they wouldn't come up with useless rules like they did last time and hopefully they would keep their fees low. Otherwise all will go into zapordy!
2736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling company that did hit the jackpot during the pandemic. on: March 30, 2021, 11:36:19 AM

What do you think ?
Will the government think twice before keeping the gambling market the same or will they revert back when everything is normal.

I don't think the gambling market would remain same as it is now. Due to the covid induced lockdown, we have seem a large portion of the workforce working from home. So it indeed gave them a chance to try their luck in gambling market. It's not just about the fiat gambling but the same has happened in the crypto gambling as well. We have seen many new gambling houses ramped up their games and some old inactive gambling houses start kicking again.

Once the covid starts disappearing and people will be back to their workplaces, the number would go down for sure! But it wouldn't be back to the pre covid situation because some people will continue with their new found love!
2737  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Ray Dalio predicting bitcoin to be outlawed on: March 30, 2021, 06:44:41 AM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3QmfOH1xZA

i just saw the video today but it was published yesterday. this is PBD podcast/video where they talk about it being outlawed and regulation about BTC and the government going to regulate heavily. is it going to be possible?

just a small talk about regulations actually although they were saying that it's just going to be outlawed temporarily, when do you think this will happen if it really will?
in the end of the discussion, the two guests are actually very bullish to BTC that they are optimistic that it will go up to a million.

Regulation is inevitable! Bitcoin will be regulated in almost every country where the government is financially stable! Some countries will also try to pass a law to ban bitcoin. However, is a law enough to ban a technology like bitcoin? The answer is no! There are literally many ways to use bitcoin and convert to real money! Just same as happening in Nigeria now!

So regulation is incoming. Every government will try to tax it heavily so that people are somewhat discouraged to use it. But at the end of the day, bitcoin will eventually win!

Pro tip - start accumulating Monero! This privacy focused coin will be huge in the future!
2738  Economy / Economics / Re: The New Zealand Pension Fund announced a $ 17.5 million bitcoin (BTC) investment on: March 29, 2021, 05:00:42 PM
We are seeing many investors and funds using or describing the Bitcoin as a store of value against Fiat's excessive inflation.

Quote
While several investors from KiwiSaver are unhappy with the decision, Grigor believes Bitcoin has become a commodity similar to gold and has many similar features, such as working as a store of value against Fiat hyperinflation. The official told New Zealand news agency stuff:

“If you're happy to invest in gold, you don't see a discount for Bitcoin.”

The opportunity will be good for those who continue, as extreme volatility will be encouraging, whether the price of the cryptocurrency rises or falls

read it https://www.1olay.com/2021/03/the-new-zealand-pension-fund-announced.html?m=1

Not a good idea! I am sure the fund managers have taken a calculated risk and possibly this 17.5 million is just a very minor percentage of their total asset. But still a pension fund should choose a more stable return over a highly volatile assets like bitcoin. Probably they are testing this unknown water to justify their future investments, you never know!

But mostly a pension fund must stay out of such investments which are speculative by nature. The funds are needed to secure the life of old age people, must be handled more responsibly,  I would say!

Governments are looking to buy Bitcoin, NYDIG CEO confirms https://cointelegraph.com/news/governments-are-looking-to-buy-bitcoin-nydig-ceo-confirms just so much good news

Not a good news at all! Corporate buying into bitcoin market is still somewhat good news but it's not same when government bodies buy into it. It will further centralize the network and government will have the power to manipulate the market to satisfy the banking lobby. That's not good at all!

We will see temporary liquidity flow into the market for sure but seriously need to think - at what cost that might come to us in future.

Now we're discussing 40000, 50000, 60000.

We can still discuss whether bitcoin will go over 100k or not and when it will go over 100k. But in reality, bitcoin can never become the central bank of the central banks! I am not saying that it doesn't have the potential, but it won't happen because the governments and financial administrations won't let it happen.

Bitcoin great for parking temporary money for sure but to become a reserve asset, it must be less fluctuative than what it is now. Also the network is decentralized which is another risk areas for the government not to allow it. So play a speculative game but don't make assumptions like this!
