2721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Quora Bengali is killing bitcoin on: January 16, 2022, 05:46:19 AM
I'd say it will take a good amount of arguing on the internet to realize that you should stop trying to convince everyone.
I find it useless, because on the internet, anybody can speak of anything and this is the root cause behind misinformation on many topics to those who dont look for answers in topics that needs professional input. This leads to a lot of fake cures and charlatans promoting them. Many pseudo-science topics and propaganda only exist in the internet because that is what started it.

Quote
I've also had my fair share of arguing with idiots on Reddit back in the day.
You cant argue with an idiot. You can only argue when the other side is giving evidence to support their claim. In Reddit or any social media it is exactly zero.

It is like trying to move a mountain. Reddit being the breeding ground for conspiracy theories and all, I never look into it for any investment knowledge or even worse, advice.

Quote
Some people are just more passionate than others concerning Bitcoin, I guess.
Their loss is our gain. That is how I take it and since this does not concern someone's lives, I am more than happy to see others lose their money and me make money. In that way, this type of conversations help the strong hands.
2722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is New Bounties are not paying Good Rewards? Real Or Trusted on: January 15, 2022, 05:17:54 AM
Checking their team members, telegram channels, Twitter activists and such things will help much to find out good bounty.
You can do that and you will gain some experience doing this, but it is not a full-proof method to weed out the scams or the future failures.

Instead, what I feel is that most projects are faking whitepapers and that need to be checked first.

Then go for the team profiles and see if they have been involved in some other successful projects too.

Try to email them or contact the advisors on linkedin if they are really involved with the project; scam projects will pick random pictures without taking their permission and they will be surprised when you contact them on linkedin and ask about the project. Roll Eyes

Even them 99% of the projects will fail and not pay its participants, they are neither legally bound to do that.
2723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do people overestimate BTC? on: January 15, 2022, 05:12:47 AM
Now that we are in 2022 is 100k per BTC still possible?
What is the rush about? Let bitcoin grow organically and even if it takes a few more years, we reach than range and then cross it too, will somebody look back and question that why did that rise not happen a couple of years earlier? Roll Eyes

Quote
It seems no one is talking about this price anymore and now BTC is fighting at the 40k range, what do you think could still happen?
I hate to break it, but I doubt you have been listening enough to hear people talking unless you are living under a rock. Even then, I dont watch much of what the social media does, but place orders and then go back to daily life. When bitcoin dropped to 39k for a few minutes my buy orders executed and now I am selling them at high prices.

Bottom line: Let people chatter, dont give them importance but make profit off the market cycle.

Quote
Also it seems like altcoins have no high chances again unless BTC do the impossible
Altcoins follow the movements of bitcoin usually. If you are blaming bitcoin for the bad times in altcoin, then it was your mistake to get into altcoins in the first place, something that I have tried to tell every newbie I come across.
2724  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Quora Bengali is killing bitcoin on: January 15, 2022, 05:05:41 AM
What can I do to get them down? I wouldn’t give it a shit if the criticize was logical but it was not logical even. It was a wall of text and people upvoted. Nothing else in the answer.
You can be the difference here, create your own account on Quora and start giving logical explanations to the questions where you feel the answers till date are inadequate. This can be tiring and time consuming and at times it is also better to leave them do what they wish to do because their loss is your gain in such assets.

At the same time, try to build up your own community among the Bengali users from your country. You cannot remove someone's view because you think it to be incorrect - you would be trying to suppress free speech, instead you point out their fallacies and show others their real motives. Older people like red-pilled professors lack knowledge about tech and they are very careful about money because of past experiences, it is not their fault that they became idiotic, but the condition they lived through.

However this problem exists in every section of the population. I feel being selfish and silent about your own assets is often useful too, but there are others things to do too.
2725  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022 Savings and investment plan on: January 14, 2022, 04:27:19 AM
The number one thing is to know how much capital I have and how long can I invest in it and what are the percentage profits turnovers, after that, I will look for the right investment to invest in and how much I should invest in it. Then I will try to diversify my investment.
Depends on what your country's legal system's approach to bitcoin is, keep a part of investment in fiat sectors like stocks and deposits. Because this is a bitcoin forum you will see skewed opinions to bitcoin, but you should keep yourself safe by having both options. When it comes to crypto, only bitcoin is what you need.

Quote
I will take less risk this year but make my finances more stable with some skills development.
Give priority to skill development and if possible get a daily job where you can apply those skills. Remember that having a stable income always gives an investor mental peace over the chaos of the market. The fact that you know you can feed yourself and your family in case the investments are going down is a strong deterrent to drastic measures often taken by investors.

Those who think "I quit my job and got rich with crypto" are just show-offs and charlatans. You have to cunning when taking such decisions and keep both options open.
2726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: January 14, 2022, 04:17:55 AM
As long as we study crypto well, there is no need to be afraid of the risks that will occur.
Risks do not decrease with the gain of knowledge, risks can be minimized by careful order placing and timing the orders.

Quote
Because after understanding crypto, it means we already understand how to deal with the risks that will occur.
If it was so easy, then every person studying bitcoin would have become a millionaire. You can deal with risks but you will not always make a profit out of it.
Quote
It is not easy to make a profit in the crypto world, there are many obstacles that we will face, as long as we have faith in the future of the altcoins we buy.
That faith can destroy your portfolio too. Some altcoins may be profitable, but the one coin that has been tested for years and running strong is bitcoin. So next time before putting money in some recent cashgrab hype, better think about putting money in bitcoin at a low price than wasting money on shitcoins.

My stand with the altcoin investment is still on a positive note as there has been an increase in the number of new development in the area of NFTs and web 3 metaverse projects as opportunities keep rising am going to stay positive with an altcoin.
Let us see how long this hype stands. My guess is half of this year and not more than that.
2727  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Santacoin.io didn't pay the bounty hunters! on: January 14, 2022, 04:08:52 AM
I am not sure if doing a "This project is scam" campaign is a good start. It might very well be a scam, but you should have given that thought before deciding to participate in it not after that.

The bounty manager is not directly involved in getting the money to pay the bounty participants but organizing the bounty only, I suggest you remove their name from this thread.

phelbaby account exists here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1255347
they have used the same username on telegram in their messages on the forum archived here - https://archive.fo/8qeza#selection-3923.19-3923.28

To be honest, the santacoin team never showed their faces or names or identity information anywhere during the process when the project was launched. Their litepaper is a generic one without any details about who created the project.

Every Christmas we see such projects come up. The scam bounty project "C" Why even bother joining such bounties?
2728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULDN'T THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOKENS BE MORE SUPERVISED ? on: January 13, 2022, 06:36:41 AM
These days, the number of scam projects in the cryptocurrency space is really getting alarming.
I would correct the word "these days" to "everyday" Tongue It has been like that since the time money was first used by man. Scams exist since humans existed and avoiding them is the key.

Quote
It seems as if creating a cryptocurrency or token is as easy as opening a facebook account, and that's why rug pulls and other forms of crypto scams is rampant now.
It is easy to do that and hence there is a need for regulation of crypto projects by some government body, is what I feel.

Quote
Shouldn't the blockchain technology restructure their requirements and tighten their audit methods to prevent or to an extent, reduce this menace?
If you do your research, you will be able to pick out the problems quickly too. However not everyone is an expert in this nor a novice in such.

Quote
I think some progressive actions should be made, like more strict supervising and audits and as well, due consequences should be attached to defaulters.
What the forum members are currently doing is reporting scam projects in the "Scam Accusations" section of the forum and flagging the associated account(s). For now this self-policing of projects in this forum by its members is a reasonable alternative.

Quote
Cause it's really disheartening the loss being recorded everyday due to elaborate cryptocurrency scam schemes.
One's loss is another's gain. The point is that scams can be avoided and the first step in that is to be rigid about investing only in bitcoin and no altcoin. It will solve most of these scam token problems.
2729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin projects on: January 13, 2022, 06:28:44 AM
I would like to know which sites you use to know what the whales are then buying or selling, or something like that,
I dont, in fact most of the older traders here dont do that either. Reason is that the whole concept of "whale alert" is a gimmicky market manipulation. In order to make to the weak hands sell their coins because they might think that the whales are dumping. How much truth there is to such whale movements is highly questionable.

Quote
site to see which projects are most promising and etc.
Nobody is going to tell you that project A is going to be better than project B in this sector. You have to do your own groundwork and research to check what the project is developing, how the team is working behind it and whether that project actually has any use case in the real world or just plain vaporware designed for a quick cashgrab and an exit scam.

Quote
I always see this -snip- but there is not much information I would like, what do you guys say?
Useful for the bitcoin-poor to watch and drool over and maybe have wet dreams about.

Useless to traders - these sites will not tell you how to invest nor how to check legitimacy of projects. If you want to buy bitcoin, buy it. Dont look at what others have achieved, they deserve it because they were early adopters, but you are also not late because bitcoin mining will continue for another 119years.
2730  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: freebitco.in aims to steal the people's money on: January 12, 2022, 11:23:24 AM
Its true bro i was a user since 2015 ,
Me too and I was one of their 200$ faucet roll winner too in the month of October 2016. I made a thread on it too, in case you are interested to see and want to know about the legitimacy of the site.

Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN

Quote
i quited using the app for 6 years
You need English lessons too. Rushing to write something on this forum by making more than one account does not make you look legit, but underage to gamble.

Also the site does not have any app, AFAIK, Play store does not like gambling site apps on their marketplace as well.

Quote
and now im banned without a reason ! ITS SCAMMM !
Till date all the threads which claimed such got answered by their support team and lacked evidence from the "victim's" side, obviously if they had any legit evidence, the thread would have been followed up by the accuser.
2731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is New Bounties are not paying Good Rewards? Real Or Trusted on: January 12, 2022, 11:17:37 AM
Many of these scam projects aren't showing their true nature at first even if you do a research before you join them.
Often it has been seen that projects seem legit in the start but turn out to be a scam in the future. This cannot be predicted due to a lack of information and lack of regulation in this sector. It is easy to copy a blockchain project and make a new one but whether it is real or going to end up scam is a though thing to decide on.

Quote
They're turning into a con once their project becomes successful but still, there are those projects that you can spot on that you should avoid if you see some signs.
Majority of cases end up as failures, this should be kept in mind when enrolling yourself in a bounty campaign. If that bothers someone, they should not enroll. There are better time tested methods to make money, like trading or just working a job. Dont waste time on bounties if the fact that they are going to be worthless shitcoins bother you.
2732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Greed Comes First in Trading, the Result is Bankruptcy on: January 11, 2022, 04:36:49 AM
when greed has taken over you then your common sense will become dull, the mind becomes unclear and far from calm.
That is called obsession, it is worse than greed.

Quote
Greed should not be eliminated but must be controlled. That's the experience I took from my personal life.
Not bad, you learnt your lesson.

Quote
and the unique thing about people who are controlled by greed is "he will only realize when he has lost everything"
Greed for anything should not turn into an obsession is what I understand.

Quote
and the lesson is "don't start everything with greed because it will put you in the dark, you will forget your common sense, you will forget your knowledge, and you will forget to be careful. but don't get rid of greed but control it And don't let him control you."
Any emotion for that sense can draw a moral human into a dark place. But it is also important to be reminded that these emotions are a part and parcel of life and they make a human. From what you have said, I hope you are in a better condition than what you have been previously.

The nature for taking risks and attempting to make money is hardwired into humans. It may not work out for everyone hence not every risk taker can be a good trader. Not sure about you, but I have enjoyed trading between bulls and bears and I still do, but I dont allow that to be the only reason I am staying awake. That is more of a hobby for me and if I make a profit out of it, good for me.

Not everyone can set up this type of mentality, and it is not their fault either.
2733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice on what to consider when making an investment ? on: January 11, 2022, 04:29:23 AM
What's up guys, I am relatively new to the crypto world and although I've read a lot and watched countless videos on crypto and how to do your own research, I was wondering what are the most important aspects of a project, and what are the most important factors and things to look for.
Free advice, the only coin that a newbie should get into is bitcoin but try to buy it at the bear market. Current price of 41k USD is in a bearish trend but I feel it will go into the 35k USD range at which point you should think of buying it. Remember that bitcoin is still cheap compared to what it can become once mining new bitcoins end.

Whatever stuff you watch on youtube, you will find altcoin shills are looking to promote their own vaporware - each of those are short term stuff but when they are going to crash you will never know. Hence they are a waste of time and money and if you value those things, dont get into buying any altcoin.

Quote
If you could give me some advice on the resources you guys use that would be really great.
Look at older charts and identify support/resistance levels and use these place orders. No need to buy any book or course for trading, you learn indicators and their use by trading more than reading. Paid courses are only made to make the creator rich, not you.

Quote
I was also wondering if someone could explain to me what is a vesting schedule and what a good token distribution looks like vs a bad one.
Vesting schedule is not applicable here, you are only one making your traders. Do not give access to your portfolio to a third party, this market does not work like that. Keep your private key/seedphrase safe, whoever has that can spend your coins without you knowing.

About token distribution, I prefer the top five coins on coinmarketcap. They are time tested and safer than the rest. Rest if upto you if you want to lose your money.
2734  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learn more about trading on: January 11, 2022, 04:15:49 AM
I just suggesting you to trade with crypto signals,
No, please dont rely on signals groups. These groups are literally scamming their numbers by selling them paid memberships and the stuff they give for paid membership and released on their free channel a few days later. But these are not researched quotes, but the owners shitcoins being pumped. Newbies fall for this mistake of getting trading advice from others - this is one place where you follow your own path and not listen to what others say.

Quote
Crypto signals are the perfect example for beginners to identify when to buy/sell different kinds of crypto at a specific time. Let’s see how we can benefit from cryptocurrency signal prediction tools.
If you are following them, get ready to get ripped off very soon. Older traders know the reality behind them and try to avoid them as much as possible. When someone is new to the market they need help and they should be helped with authentic information from charts not predictions from pump and dump groups.

2735  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Bull Market will Start on: January 10, 2022, 11:08:26 AM
No one knows it. If you only knew, we've been on the bull run for so long. Because we have been hearing since last year that we will get a new bull market in either December or January. In the meantime, we have no market in January. So nothing is predictable in the crypto currency.
It is a bearish trend currently. A good time to buy especially below the 40k USD mark and till the next lowest drop. I dont know how well the 35k mark is supported if possible to break but I am sure the 30k and below that are well supported.

As a trader, we need to improvise on both bear and bull, unlike what most newbies do - only get wet dreams about the bull market.
In the bear market you devise positions to buy in with fiat or stablecoins if you already had any. Just because the market is red does not mean you are losing everything or going rekt.

If you are into bitcoin, this is the time to buy, otherwise when the bull trend starts you will again be left with no bitcoin but only fiat at hand. Grin
2736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: meta is the future ???? on: January 10, 2022, 11:04:35 AM
Personally my response to Meta isn't too keen to go deeper. Maybe because this very sophisticated world has brought Facebook to a more imaginary direction. It is undeniable that some tokens have entered the world of METAVERSE. And for me personally for now just investing in those cryptos. That too is based on the results of a fairly long election. I did some simple analysis and decided to allocate a few percent in Metaverse based tokens.
I dont think allocating more money makes any sense, true you might get some temporary profits but very soon some or the other hype will start to decline. The hyps is way more than actual demand from mainstream angles or market. But the bagholders and promoters of such projects are the only ones making a whole lot of noise on social media.

The whole "NFT is art" thing is way far from mainstream and this should not be compared to the early days of bitcoin, its ideals were different and it's creator did not ask people to buy their coin.

If you care about the tech well and good, but you might end up with your hands burnt just like in the ICO craze most investors did. It is a wiser decision to buy BTC as it is in a bear trend currently.
2737  Economy / Economics / Re: Advice for the season. on: January 10, 2022, 10:59:49 AM
manage your income and expenses, make the best possible plan in this season. if you need money, just sell the assets you have. Don't be afraid to run out of your assets, your needs will not exceed your income. I also often do this and until now I'm still fine, maybe even better.
Managing your income and expense is something that should be done by everyone and in every season, not just the holidays. It would not matter if you spend some extra on your family, they need you and they depend on you for their expenses if you are the sole bread earner - I dont see anything wrong in that. It is not possible to live alone in this world and be healthy.

But in case your trading or income was not upto the mark, spending a bit less helps to save some for the next year. Life is all about adjusting and compromises, you never get what you actually want but if your needs are like a common man, you will not face troubles.

Right now the holidays are over and the market is on the 41k USD mark. It is a good time to place orders on the bearish side and make the first profitable trades of the year.
2738  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: January 10, 2022, 10:55:47 AM
Bots might not be pefect but to many its working but of course BOT also have a common strategies and indicators with other traders that's why its not all about profit and there's no guarantee for that even if you are using bot. I guess they pay for Bot for the purpose of conviniency, some trader really prefer this and that's fine.
A bot is used for automation. A bot is not made to generate profit, unlike what some newbies might think.

People need to get this in their heads, bots run algorithms and they are going to execute some actions on the previously set triggers. This helps in allowing the actual human to take a break from looking on the screen all the time. Just use your common sense, if this bot could make you a millionaire, everyone would be buying this bot and there would be millionaires everywhere and not rekt traders - but that is hardly true, so you can figure out the reality easily.

To be honest, the option of working with bots does not appeal to me at all. This is not entirely safe, and the main thing is that I cannot control the result.
If you program the bot yourself, the data is safe and within your control. Not sure what you are implying by "result" here, bots will execute a set program on a set trigger, nothing more.
2739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you use stable coins? on: January 09, 2022, 05:05:58 AM
I worry about stable coins becoming un-pegged; this is a big concern for me; it's an extra worry that you don't have if you just convert back to fiat right away.
There are lot of concerns in cryptocurrency. Bitcoin being outlawed by some countries, yours could be next. But if you live in that worry you will never be able to take the services of tools available at your disposal to maximize your profits. Stablecoin is one such tool.

Quote
I can see using stable coins as a trading pair to purchase alts on a dex but I don't understand holding stable coins for longer periods of time like weeks, months or years as a store of value; to me this feels way too risky. What am I missing?
In a Bull market, you sell your bitcoins to buy USDT at that high price on the bull market. Now you just hold the stablecoin till the market drops again. Now you spend the stablecoin to buy Bitcoin back at the lower price. If you do the math, you can understand that you actually multiplied the amount of bitcoin that you own since the first trade.

Nobody keeps stablecoins as a source of value, at least not someone who is diligent enough to understand this. They are an intermediary source to hedge your assets, IMO.

Try to apply this to the markets everyday, try on paper first - you might get the hang of it.
2740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you still have a bounty trust that uses an eth address..? on: January 09, 2022, 04:58:53 AM
do you all still believe in the existence of a bounty project using an eth address even though now the cost of gas with eth is very expensive..?
and what examples of bounty projects have you been involved in on an eth basis and successful in the market?
I consider bounty projects to be a waste of time. But that is not due to ETH fees to send the coins but the fact that these coins have no actual market demand nor any inherent market making capacity. Cost of gas might be high, but the bounty tokens are sent once by the owner and not your headache.

Again sending them to an exchange, you would incur gas fees once more - this might be cutting a hole in your pocket, if so dont do bounties anymore. Get your hands into something that is better known and done without someone above your head, like trading.

Most of the bounties that are using ETH addresses are not paying due to gas fees, I think bounty hunters do not join these bounties because when bounty distribution time comes they don't pay and tell about high cost so if you find a good project then you can join, ispolink bounty that is paid recently that was on ETH address that was a good bounty.
When did bounties give out money for free? Back in 2015-16 and not anymore after that. It led to a massive increase in spammer accounts in the forum too. Instead of spending time to search for bounties that pay, it is better to invest your money into bitcoin.
