What mining pool would you recommend for me? I've been mining at bitminter, but I don't get much from them. According to their miner, I mine at about 40 "Mhps".

i am not evading the point. You argued my position for me above. You have no way to know what exists or not. You _think_ there isn't anything. You don't _know_. The company does ship product (yes, late, not the same specs, all the crappy stuff they have done) so there is room to believe they could be doing this. And yes, room to believe they aren't because of the terrible track record. But no way to know for sure.
The monarch card they showed the CGI rendering of would never be able to dissipate 350W. And it had the wrong fucking edge connector. That's obvious evidence they just slapped up an image in some 3D graphics program and clearly don't have a working board design. Of course the pic is not prototype. I remember first Jalapeno picture looked like external HDD. I guess picture = more preorders |

There are so very serious investigations that are taking place currently (e.g. http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2013/08/13/officials-broaden-inquiries-into-oversight-of-bitcoin-and-other-currencies/). Once the results of the government's investigation has concluded, the price of bitcoin could be significantly affected (either positive or negative - depending on the results). Obviously, if a large number of US bitcoin holders don't want to take the risk of holding large numbers of bitcoins, the price will skyrocket down. Other considerations are that places like Argentina have significantly higher bitcoin to fiat rates due to large inflation that is occurring. Based on this, I predict we will not see 200 soon. Instead one digit number is possible this year |
