Hey Guys, We changed the miner passwords the day they came in to prevent just this from happening Also, none of the miners have a direct internet connection but are behind a firewall on an internal network. But thanks for the warning! can't be careful enough these days it seems... Cheers, Awesome - great to hear that the miners are safe. Happy newyear everybody

Koster et Sapphire HD7950, kr 6840 i Norge??!!! De koster ca. 2000 kr i Danmark.

Takker for alle svar:)

What are the power difference? 50W reduction from what stating point? 250W to 200W ?

Hey everyone,
I'm currently building a GPU mining rig with two MSI R9 280x cards, and was wondering if anyone here knows how to under-volt them?
I'll be running them on a linux system, so I can't use the utilities provided by MSI.
I will eventually add two more cards to this rig, so I need to reduce the power-draw per card. I'm putting a 1200W PSU on this rig.
Looking forward to your replies.
Cheers!
I was curious about your power budget. How much power are you planing to save per card by undervoltage them?

Profit udregning: 50 GH/s Aftalen løber i 3 måneder Udbytte 1,92 BTC Vil det sige at i regner med 0% ændring i difficult? Mit mest optimistiske bud vil være omkring 60% stigning per måned, men det bliver nok realistisk 90-100%/måned i Q2.

Hejsa
I am mining at dogehouse at the moment, cgminer say that I am mining with 520 kH/s, but in the dogehouse dashboard I have been pretty constant around 300 kH/s. Is that big different due to pool inefficiency? Is there any suggestions how to achieve a better actual hashrate? Usually your effective rate at the pool's end goes up and down around the actual rate your device is working at, because of higher number of shares delivered and conversely higher number of rejected shares. Are you having a very high reject rate? The pools only take into consideration the shares that get accepted, so rejects will cause your effective hashrate to be lower than the actual amount of work your device is doing. Sometimes this happens even on pools that run variable difficulty for shares; you might want to try a pool where you can set the share diff for your workers manually and try going lower and lower for 10-15 minutes at a time until you land somewhere acceptable. Check out the "help" section on multipool.us, as that pool lets you control the share diff manually. Well, my reject rate for the last 500 shares are 1-2%... but I am never anywhere close to the cgminer hashrate, even with the rejects taken into consideration. Is this because of the variable difficulty? I guess a lower hashrate is ok in PPLNS, since the shares with higher diff gives higher profit, right?

Is that big different due to pool inefficiency? Is there any suggestions how to achieve a better actual hashrate? Hashrate on any pool site is based on the number of shares you submit. It's never going to be exactly the same as you see in cgminer because of the variance. cgminer knows the exact value, pool only guesses based on shares submitted. Mine varies by +/- 25% all the time. tl;dr It's normal. there's nothing wrong with the pool or your miners. the weird thing is im always down 20% below or so, never up 20% nor 5% Thanks for the explanation metalphreak. I have the same as ricm, I have never seen the hashrate reported by the pool been anything close to the miner hashrate... I guess I am just unlucky with finding shares

+1 I see ghash.io as the single bigest treat to bitcoin that exist today. not sure if u mean treat or threat .... My intenstion was to write threat. as in: a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done

It is a very nice link, thank you so much. The guide can of cause be used to control the 2 cards, but it also explain how to crossfire the two cards. I was kinda assuming that crossfire could not give you any extra hashing power in scrypt minings, since you are already running the GPU's at maximum efficiency, is that assumption correct?
