2742  Local / Polski / Re: Wykresy z polskiej giełdy -- pogadajmy o cenie! :) on: July 31, 2014, 09:28:23 PM

Coin 2 still trading at bittrex?

I think we should all move to 1 exchange which is bittrex. Everyone is hanging over there nowadays we could try and create some more volume to get c2 noticed.

good idea

2745  Economy / Lending / Re: New Member/Not new to BTC on: July 31, 2014, 06:23:05 PM
I feel like if they had collateral of any value, they wouldn't need a loan...?  And what would be some examples of collateral?  It would be nice to be able to make money off your bitcoins than just watch the market, and hope it goes up...  But I'd prob be getting in over my head.

You must provide a collateral or forget about the loan.
Best collateral around are other crypto currencies. But not all of them will be accepted. People won't accept some new/unstable coins.

Value of a collateral should be ~110% of a loan value.

Why anyone would ask for a loan if he have any altcoins?

Well.. perhaps many reasons for example I can say that let say you have some altcoins but you need some BTCs.
You don't want to sell those coins because you see that the value is rising and you think that this is not a good moment to sell.

So you ask for a loan to keep your coins and payback from some other income. .
I must say there are only few cases when asking for a loan is reasonable.
In most of the cases it is not worth and better to wait for some income or sell your altcoins.

2746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tor no longer anonymous -- network can be broken (source) on: July 31, 2014, 04:23:57 PM
You can be caught.

Sorry for all the coins that were so committed to Tor anonymity

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jul/31/tor-attack-revealed-user-identities-anonymised-onion-router

I was silently laughing at all of those coins which implemented Tor.

There is nothing like being anonymous over the Internet.
If you want to stay anonymous tor wasn't a best choice :-)

Weren't you posting about buying or selling an account a few days ago? Sounds like you're trying to scam someone out of an account.

Yep.

hi guys i m selling an member status account at very cheap rates if someone interstedt let know..

Forgot to mention the price is 0.045.. market price is 0.05 Smiley thnkx

That's the trouble with buying accounts. The seller can get it back any time. They've got nothing to lose in attempting to do so.

Another reason why selling accounts isn't va good thing.

I hope that situations like that one will clearly explain why selling/buying bitcointalk accounts isn't a good habit.

2749  Other / Meta / Re: BTC price on the forum on: July 31, 2014, 01:59:17 PM
Hello,
My question is : Is it possible to put the actual price of BTC at the forum somewhere?
This way it will help me follow it all the time I am online on the forum and not switch to other page. This also can prevent people from asking the same question about the BTC price right now or to ask what is the price right now.
Thanks Smiley
BR
Gondel

There is a wall observer's thread where the price is automatically posted each hour.

In my opinion there is no need to place the price at the main forum window.

2750  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What kind of information do you need to start working with new exchange? on: July 31, 2014, 01:51:08 PM
Last week I made a mistake while giving my trust to one of the new exchanges and I got scammed.
I was always very careful but I did lost my sense for that while.

And the lesson is that you should never use an exchange which haven't got:
-official btctalk thread
-registered company with valid address
-working support email
-happy customers.

And even if some exchange has got all of that you shouldn't keep your coins there if you don't want to trade at the moment.
2751  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-31] BitBeat: Wikipedia Adopts Bitcoin on: July 31, 2014, 01:44:58 PM
http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2014/07/30/bitbeat-wikipedia-adopts-bitcoin/

Wikipedia is one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the web, and seems a natural fit for bitcoin as a payments system, seeing both are powered by a decentralized network of users, so it’s a wonder it took this long.

In a press release on its website, Wikimedia explained that it had been asked in the past to take bitcoin, and those requests combined with recent events, including the IRS guidance on bitcoin, convinced it to revisit the cryptocurrency. “There is [now] a clear understanding of how to legally manage it

This is great news!  I am glad that they will support bitcoin.

Imagine the bitcoin logo on their website :-) flawless.

Adele - Rolling In The Deep

This song title reminds me about a pot :-)
How deep is she while rolling in a same time. .

Isn't the air pressure making rolling harder to her?  :-)

windows wallet link don't work, please upload in other site

Thanks for letting me know but it is working just fine. Just tested it again Smiley

It is working for me too.

It is just not working with some of the browsers (mostly old version of them...)

Try to run it with GoogleChrome.

It's almost as if they were made by Satoshi Nakamoto himself!

Check them out here!
I like those t-shirts but I think if Satoshi Nakamoto will design a bitcoin t-shirt it will be plain black.  As he like being anonymous :-)

Good luck with many customers! !
2755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GIVEAWAY] ShapeShift.io giving away 10 free Litecoins on: July 31, 2014, 02:57:41 AM
Ahhhh my apologies. I've edited the OP, thank you for explaining.

No problem Smiley

I will consider to take a part in your giveaway later on if will be not too late Smiley

Kind regards.
2756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GIVEAWAY] ShapeShift.io giving away 10 free Litecoins on: July 31, 2014, 02:53:25 AM
Hello!

We'd like to announce our new site, ShapeShift.io which is now in open beta.

ShapeShift is the easiest way to buy Litecoin and we're giving away free LTC if you try it.
  • Litecoin <-> Bitcoin conversion
  • Super easy and fast
  • No account required (we don't even want your email address)

Most orders process in under ten seconds (larger orders may require 1 block conf before processing). We take a small fee which is built into the spread (so the exchange rate you see is what you get - no other fees)

To encourage some initial users, we'll give 1 LTC to the first ten of you who A) run an order through ShapeShift and B) post your LTC address here.  The LTC address you post must match either the deposit or withdraw address from your order (so we can verify it's you).

And we would love your feedback! We hope ShapeShift will become the go-to bridge for moving between Bitcoin and Litecoin.

Give it a try here

Thanks!

Hi!

Nice share but giveaways with asking people to post their addresses are not allowed around.

What does it mean is asking people to post their wallet address in a "giveaway" is not welcome @ Bitcointalk.

If you don't want  your thread to be removed change instruction to "send address via PM" or something like that.

Regards.
2757  Other / Meta / Re: Do we have a board for charities? on: July 30, 2014, 11:55:39 PM
I'm thinking about pitching this idea to one of my favorite charities that they should have a presence on bitcointalk. This would increase their exposure in bitcoin community and people would be able to ask questions. BTW, they are already accepting bitcoin donations and they got approved by Bitcoin100.

So the question #1: what board should they create the thread in? What would be the right place for charities?

Question #2: Did any org already do it here? Can you point me to an example of the thread any good charity runs? I looked for Sean’s Outpost and it seems like Jason King doesn’t even have a thread on bitcointalk.

Thank you!

Off-topic.

As charities are offtopic comparing to other topics :-)

Or if that charity want to create "a project" included with their  charity then perhaps "project development".
Answering questions 2: I remember few and they were posted in offtopic or project development :-) if I remember good.  But I dunno which one is "a really good one". Do some research on your own.  Type "charity" in a search box and see what happens :-)

Regards.

2758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do I hear a Cloak on: July 30, 2014, 11:53:07 PM
Cloak is rising steadily

My prediction is $100 a coin by October

If that will ever happen please remember that I was wishing you  luck in success with your dreams :-)

I predict  Bitcoin will cost $3600 in a year .

2759  Other / Meta / Re: lost my password of accout on: July 30, 2014, 10:49:21 PM
hi everybody i lost my password of my account can any moderator help me? to get the account back?

i can tell the history of password changes with the account today i chnged the pass and i type wrong now i cannot login ..Sad

help

Hey.  Why won't you just use a forgotten password tool.
I was reseting my password many times.

Why you cannot do it?

Maybe he has registered the account with a false email address?
In fact, you could enter some BS like (eg6136acjgri@gmail.com) in the email address field, as there is no need for email activation. Smiley

If LYCAN did that it is now a problem for him and perhaps this is a reason why it is quite important to use valid e-mails even if you will even create a new one just for recovering a pass purposes Smiley

But perhaps if it was really his account Theymos will solve the problem.

2760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin logo do you prefer? [I want your input for a study] on: July 30, 2014, 10:00:06 PM
Classic orange/white is perfect in my opinion.

I am using only this one while putting a bitcoin logo at any of my projects.

I don't think the other logos are bad.  I just think others are not so perfectly simple and great design.
