2741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 21, 2021, 09:26:04 PM
So "glad" hardcore rigged Philippine Basketball  is back, always good for a laugh.

Alaska aces 17/36 free throws, turnover 20sec before the end at 82:82 and then lose to a buzzer.

Did everything they can to lose this game.

This league is a real shame, honestly!

Really? or maybe it's just your own opinion, we might think the league is rigged but we can't conclude they are as we have no evidence.

If you are a bettor, just bet on the right side so you'll win.

I'm glad I was not able to bet on this game, I might still lose as I will bet on the magnolia spread.

This has nothing to do with right side - wrong side.

PH basketball has a history of being corrupt and fixed and easy to tell at the start of the season that this hasn't changed.

I agree with that, but if you really know it's corrupt and you are still watching it, then you should put some bet and take advantage of it. The thing is, you would not love watching the game if you don't put a bet because it will not anymore excite you, so no sense in wasting your time.

Actually, it's not only PBA that is corrupt, even NBA, there are a lot of theories that fix games are happening, so PBA is not different.

This story of game-fixing is not new to us and to prove that indeed there are rigged games is very hard. IMO, I think that it's just a coincidence that everything turned out that way and the PBA has nothing to do with it. Who will benefit if they will intend to lose their game and with today's technology, it is easier to spot a rigged game than before, and being honest and fair is profitable nowadays so I give them the benefit of the doubt that it's only pure coincidence.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 21, 2021, 01:07:20 PM
Oh man… I hadn’t heard about Scott Foster… I don’t know how to play this one. On one hand the NBA wants a game 7, but on the other hand Chris Paul has an 0-12 streak going with Scott Foster in the playoffs. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this may be an opportunity for the NBA to get what they want while at the same time crushing the ‘Scott Foster / Chris Paul’ conspiracy and breaking the 0-12 streak. I’m guessing we’ll figure out which way the game will go by whatever star has to sit down in the 1st quarter with foul trouble.

Ohh man, the losing streak continues hehe, before the game I have read that CP3 requested a meeting with Scott Foster but it doesn't break the curse lol.

Congratulations to all the Bucks backers out there, the Giannis wall has no effect on the Greek Freak this time as he almost single-handily demolished the Suns on this game.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 19, 2021, 09:14:08 PM
Actually, Donaire has done that in their first encounter already, but Inoue is just too strong and he was able to survive with that Stamina. Donaire is not the kind of fighter that throughs a lot of jabs, he only throws limited punches looking for good timing that's why he is precise, but if someone is durable and has a good movement inside the right like Inoue, it would not be easy for him. However, I still think it's possible for him to win in the rematch, so let's just watch and enjoy the fight once it will be realized.

That is very true. The outcome of this fight really depends on Inoue on how he trains or wanted to win this fight. If he really wants it then he will win this one because he is the young lion of this division and I just can't see Donaire improve from their first fight and win the rematch because he is on the downhill of his career at the moment.

Good decision of the Donaire camp to go directly to this fight but I wonder if the old man will fulfill his promise to make this fight huh.
2744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 19, 2021, 12:36:22 PM
Not the result I expected, luckily I was not able to place my bet on this game as I have an early trip.

Though SMB loss but it was a close game.
JMF scores 5 points only and played 18 minutes, he is not yet fully activated, we will know if he plays longer minutes and generate a double double in points and rebounds.

I don't expect a lot from Fajardo on that game because I knew his minutes will be managed as he is coming from an injury. I don't know when he will be basketball ready, for now, we will just wait and see who their opponent and might bet for their opponent if the odds are attractive.

I might change strategy in this early stage of elimination and bet for the underdogs for a 2.5+ odds because in this stage, top teams are adjusting and they can afford to lose a game or two so let's exploit that hehe.

Last Sunday two underdogs won, NLEX and Meralco.
2745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 18, 2021, 08:36:33 AM
Yep it ended on a split draw, on my personal card it was 114-114 so I think they got the decision correct although one judges score it for Castano 117-111, the judge is from Puerto Rico, the other judge from the US scored it 114-113 for Charlo and then for the draw 114-114  Nevada’s Tim Cheatham.

It was come from behind though from Charlo, he didn't dominated the fight as what I have predicted, so it was a lost to me. Not sure if there is a rematch clause, because there is a lot of controversy and drama on the decision.

I'm backing Charlo in this match but watching the fight I give a little edge on Castano but that fight was for the undisputed belt and neither fighter dominated the other so I think the draw decision was fair and hope an immediate rematch will happen this year. Wonder what fight that judge who gave 117-111 Charlo, was watching hehe.

2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 17, 2021, 11:51:59 PM
Just look at the recent YT videos of ESNews - https://www.youtube.com/user/ESNEWS and fighthype - https://www.youtube.com/user/fighthype. They are uploading the preparations of Pacquiao. And I can say, Pacquiao seemed to be pretty serious in his training here. This match is getting interesting and less than a month of waiting. A lot of fans for sure are waiting for Pacquiao to be in the ring again.

Pacman is training like there's no tomorrow, that is what we see in him whenever he trains and kudos to him on that but the real question would be in the actual fight. Could he bring the same amount of intensity until the twelve rounds or even in the fourth quarter of the fight, that's the question that remains to be seen.

If only it is a 3 or 6 rounds fight, then Pacman would have the advantage as he still have the speed and power. Hope I'm wrong though but that is what I see in him in being his long time fan  Cool.
2747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2021, 09:59:34 PM
Today we have 2 games, 2 big games actually, hopefully, we will be able to see Fajardo play.

1-SMB vs Bolts
2-BGSM vs NLEX

Actually, we will have 3 games for today as I see it in the schedule and the third game will be between Blackwater vs Rain or Shine.

Speaking of Fajardo, he will play, and just like what their team manager said that he is not 100 percent healthy but he looks good on their scrimmages I think his presence is enough to at least boost the morale of his teammates because even if he's not 100 percent, he is still dangerous to other teams so I'll be backing them to win today.

2748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 17, 2021, 11:50:26 AM
3 votes for Charlo, this fight is less than 24 hours from now.

Make it 4, I'm backing Charlo to win this fight and it's only the method of winning that I'm thinking at the moment and more I'm inclined that this would be a win by Charo via decision, and looking at the odds, it pretty attractive.

2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2021, 11:45:40 AM

^^ That win is not without a scare and the score may deceive you that it's a lopsided win but it's not, it's actually close.

That bet is a mistake on my side because I thought at first that the opponent of Magnolia will be NorthPort, must be sleepy when I look at the odds at the bookies but nevertheless, it's a win lol.

Seems Abueva is a good fit on the Magnolia system huh.
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 16, 2021, 11:07:36 PM
I will bookmark this link, I thought we will not be able to watch these games live on our PC or laptop, but @harizen, you are a hero, thank you for sharing, we don't have to watch TV just to watch the game, now we can still enjoy even in front of our PC.

The good thing with this coverage on Facebook is we still can watch the replay if we miss the live broadcast of those games. I'm not watching PBA games on TV5 anymore as it usually conflicts with my work schedule so I just go to Facebook and see those pages that broadcast them live. FB live has a lot of usage for us today especially those busy ones like me  Smiley.

2751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 16, 2021, 12:46:55 PM

^^ Odds for tomorrow's game between Magnolia and NorthPorth.

Just like to share because for me this is very attractive if you bet for the Hotshots. Batang Pier was totally dominated by the Bolts and they must be playing tired tomorrow because of this back-to-back game. Clearly, the Batang Pier missed the service of Greg Slaughter but I think he won't be playing for a while for them as he is currently in the US for his vaccination (what a lame excuse lol).

Who's with me on betting for the Hotshots, -3.5 HC is not too high and if Magnolia wins they sure will cover this.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 15, 2021, 09:36:46 PM

It could be his downfall for being cocky because Rigo is no push-over. At least at his age, he can still fight against the much touted Casimero. But I think Casimero already knows what Rigo can bring, left hand and then being so defensive. So John Riel will be prepared to even go to distance if necessary or look for the early knock out.

So far, my favourite sport bookies hasn't covered this fight yet on their future, but Casimero will be the favourite or should be the favourite here once the betting is open.

Casimero and his camp are already working with all those possibilities that Rigo may bring to this fight, they are watching and carefully analysing those old fights by Rigo.

Preparations is very important since Casimero is aiming for more decent title fights, he needs to bring the old champ down.

I've seen a lot of videos of Casimero before he leaves for the USA and it seems that he is preparing for this time and does not take Rigo for granted. He might be cocky sometimes but I do think that it is his way of going into the opponent's mind and psyche them up and also to sell tickets lol, we all know that whenever a boxer boasted many fans will want to see him fail.

I would be very upset if Casimero will fail on this one as this is his ticket to a more lucrative fight with Inoue as promised by MP Promotion and the fact that Rigo is old, he should take care of the latter convincingly.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 15, 2021, 09:24:56 PM
And for the record, last 2019, I able to watch 6 games live at the venue, even watching those farms teams, since like I mentioned, I was nearby Ynares and Smart-Araneta in Cubao. It's only on MOA Area that I'm not able to watch live because I don't want to travel there during rush hour. About 25-30 minutes travel time from our home on usual traffic. Yes, the crowd is sometimes few especially on 1st game even it's Ginebra.  And sometimes free tickets are given to us (one of my friends is working in....) so take the opportunity, always at Upper B for free tickets but a good spot already for a good view. Smiley

Wow, I envied you mate  Grin.

Whenever the PBA is playing out of town and they are in my place, I will never pass up the opportunity to watch them live especially if it's SMB that will be playing, it's always standing capacity in our local stadium. Wow, I miss those times but hoping that out of town games will be back soon and the new arena that will be built by SM (a little bit bigger than MOA as they said) will be finished by that time so we can see the home town boys (Fajardo and Slaughter) playing alongside each other not as an opponent as we usually see them when they are playing college ball.
2754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 15, 2021, 10:47:53 AM
Game is in 3 days, where do go we go from here Huh The line is currently in favor of the Suns and it's -4.5 for them.

If we follow the pattern, I think we should go for the Suns in game5 because whoever has the homecourt advantage won so far in this series and they always cover the spread so Suns -4.5@1.9 is the way to go but on the other hand the Bucks have already found the confidence they needed that might offset the homecourt advantage  Smiley.

2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 14, 2021, 08:59:10 PM
Seeing an audience in the game is already a good start, which means the IATF is confident that everyone who are in the venue will be safe, and that is because they have vaccines already, so what I'm seeing in the future is that getting vaccinated will be the requirement before you can watch the PBA in the arena.

The article says "Maximum of 200 individuals" so I think it will include the players and staff of the PBA so I don't think fans are allowed at this point in time even if you are fully vaccinated.

The PBA will try its best not to be the "super spreader" so I think they will be very strict for now and follow every protocol set by the IATF. Even if it's a fanless venue, still it is going to be exciting that even though their original plan of opening in April drew some setback but still they manage to get the nod of the IATF to finally open tomorrow. So guys ready your crypto  Smiley.
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: USA Basketball loss odds on: July 14, 2021, 12:42:35 PM
All books that I looked at had 10+x odds on Nigeria.

I'd actually expect the US to be quite underpriced as favourites going forward. It is clear that they're going to be a lot stronger going forward as they should have been woken up by these two losses. But people tend to have recency bias and think that they're weak.

They're still the best team by far - don't forget that. Anything over 1.1x on them are great odds in the Olympics.

Agree and even if they lose twice in a row, I'm hesitant to bet against them because I think that it's just a waste of money because they are a strong team. I grew up watching team USA blew their opponents by almost 40 points and betting against them is hard for me now lol.

Maybe after the elimination games in the Tokyo Olympics, we can figure out who's the best team that had the chance of beating the US squad and just go for it with eyes closed.
2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 13, 2021, 09:04:22 PM
I was checking for the schedule of games but in their official site, it's not updated yet.
https://pba.ph/schedule

Do you know what's the first game this season?
I'm sure everyone is excited already to see the PBA back again after a year I guess?
Is JMF 100% already? I like to see him back again.

Latest news here:
Maximum 200 individuals inside arena during PBA games

Per below quote, the PBA has not yet released the official schedule of games but we can expect that they will release that on Thursday I think.

About JMF, he and TR7 were already seen joining scrimmages and per their team manager Gee Abanilla, they look good on practice even if they not yet 100 percent healthy.

Quote
PBA awaits the official schedule of PBA opening day games.
The PBA currently taking a back seat to put to perspective the list of games that set to happen in the opening of the 46th PBA season this week,
PBA also awaits the result of COVID 19 tests of PBA players ahead of the opening.

I'm very excited to once again see my SMB team trying to capture that AFC title once again lol.

Controversies around the PBA has been overshadowed by the news of its resumption, so let's just sit back and relax for a while.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 13, 2021, 12:39:48 PM
I can't remember if Charlo has a checkered left hook. However, I would agree that he will be the favourite to win the fight base on the odds. Just a matter on how he is going to win, but KO or by decision. And Charlo has a devastating punch, and Castano might not take it unless he has a solid chin to contend with. It's better for Castano to really fight toe to toe here and make Charlo play defensive. It will be a difficult task for him to beat Charlo but as the saying goes, he has a punchers chance.

Seeing the odds at the moment, Charlo @1.42, Castano @2.85, this only shows that sports bookies are giving Castano a high chance of winning but that still to be seen and if you are a Charlo fan, this odd is attractive enough for you to make a bet.

I have not seen Castano fight yet so I think I will still bet for Charlo but I would be waiting for the odds on Charlo winning by Decision as this kind of market always gives me the win lol.
2759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: July 13, 2021, 11:45:31 AM
Thank you @bisdak40 for sending me a message, this fight will push through so the thread is unlocked now.  Smiley
So what happens now? Is it a Casimero vs Donaire or a Casimero vs Rigondeaux? Kind of hoping it will be an all Filipino match up but I guess going to the original isn't going to be that bad at all.

As per the news, Casimero vs Rigondeaux is now a go after Donaire canceled his fight with the former.

The All-Filipino match-up will still be possible if both fighters will beat their respective opponents but I doubt Donaire can do it, it's one hell of a climb.

This original match-up is both beneficial to Donaire and Casimero as this means more money for Donaire while buying some time for Casimero before his shot on the unified title.
2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: July 12, 2021, 09:54:14 PM
You have a good point though, Rigondeaux's performance is affected by his age, but he is still a dangerous fighter because his record looks impressive. He might not have an impressive win but a win is a win, you can't argue that. I believe we should look at the betting odds of Casimer vs Rigondeaux and see how the bookies see this fight.

Rigo is a defensive fighter and yup, he is still dangerous and can win matches if the opponent would underestimate him. Against Loma, Rigo doesn't have any luck as the former is too technical of a boxer and toyed him until he quits.

If he will be fitted against Inoue, I think he will be in trouble because he is not too lateral as he used to be and he will be knocked out in the process as Inoue is too strong.

Casimero vs Rigo is somewhat more of a fitting fight for Rigo because Casimero, though tested but there are tendencies that he could be careless sometimes and a little bit too cocky. If he takes for granted this fight with Rigo, this might derail his chance to fight for the unification title.
