2741  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockChain.info Wallet Disabled? on: December 08, 2014, 06:36:06 AM
lot of problem with blockchain.info recently

This is why bitcoin.org removed blockchain from their site Roll Eyes

Yes, because of lot of newbies don't read about the lack of security when using blockchain and because it is the more convenient wallet, they just start using it without thinking twice and this is why I think it was removed from bitcoin.org, to encourage people to use desktop wallets.
2742  Other / Off-topic / Re: WAS SATOSHI REALLY ARRESTED? IS THIS REAL? FAKE NEWS REPORT? on: December 07, 2014, 04:13:50 AM
This is not true. Nationalreport.net is a satire site.

The article does have a lot of very accurate facts about bitcoin though (it also has a couple of inaccurate stereotypes as well :/ )

Correct!
nationalreport.net is SATIRE Fake. Fake. Fake. (And we really cannot stress this enough.)

2743  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptomine.io - Signature Campaign with a twist - Well worth your time on: December 07, 2014, 04:03:27 AM
Is the signature campaign still going on?

Lol Brilliant!!  Smiley
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Newbie Trading Story on: December 07, 2014, 03:21:34 AM
Its great that you are winning while trading. Its good till you lose big.

My advise - take out profits at regular intervals. Don't get greedy and go all in everytime. A few bad calls and you'll end up in red.

Great advice, but people always think they know exact the right moment to sell.

Of course they dont, so people only learn when they lose. Happens to everyone.

I don't which is why I don't do it anymore. I always end up on losing side, I don't know if others who do it are talented or just plain lucky.
2745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What the hell is wrong with this transaction... on: December 06, 2014, 11:57:48 AM
Yeah, you're right, it might take more because the initial transaction you posted above has a low miner's fee.
2746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What the hell is wrong with this transaction... on: December 06, 2014, 11:50:34 AM
Yes, I realized. But this transaction also has a non confirmed transaction and so on and so on and so on...up to the transaction I replied a second ago. How long may it take in worst case??

thanks

Yes, I see that now but considering all were sent with a Tx fee, they'll all get through soon. Not too sure but it may take up to an hour.

Although, I see now, this one is the culprit because the Tx fee used in this one is just 1k satoshi:

Am I right, that this is the beginning transaction thats blocks all the other transactions up to mine???

2747  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What the hell is wrong with this transaction... on: December 06, 2014, 11:44:11 AM
One of the sending address: 1CLLMQTGCtRTHvmDiJcXNbZry5n63tfsiQ
has an unconfirmed received transaction: dc776f9b788352dff862c6000a07ab6b202fae899b1cf457c0e65a84b076844f
when it goes through, the other will go through as well.
2748  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Scammers tracking website - asking for ideas on: December 06, 2014, 11:37:46 AM
Although it's a good idea but it will take a lot of work, as others have already suggested you would have a hard time deciding who to trust, if someone accuses someone else of scamming, you need to have a way of getting to the bottom of the truth and prove before tagging them as scammers. If you have resources and you can do this, go ahead but make sure you have proofs before putting up names.
2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you consolidate your bitcoins? on: December 06, 2014, 11:32:29 AM
I don't consolidate them into one address, I just use those to pay for the miner's fee when sending out a transaction and you can do this too instead of trying to gather all the left overs to one address just use them to pay the fee.
2750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily BTC transactions number record broken on: December 06, 2014, 11:11:54 AM
May be it was due to companies like Laxo trade and others started sending dust again b367a0916294963b3515969bb713a398bc5775d1d58e8decd0c6111ca2221035

2751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We run an art gallery and want to accept BTC. Best way to target the community? on: December 05, 2014, 11:54:40 AM
You can advertise on this forum itself. There's a space below the OP of every thread and you can put your advertisement there, which will ensure that every person that visits this forum will get a look at it at one time or the another. You have to contact Theymos or ask Admins how to do that. You can always do a sig-campaign or Social Media Campaign.
2752  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: paper wallet on: December 04, 2014, 04:03:50 AM
The whole point behind the paper-wallet/cold-storage is that it's created and it stays off-line, so the best way to do it is use a computer that stays off-line or do a clean/fresh install of an OS, make the paper-wallets, put them on usb or paper and keep those safe and delete the OS and re-install again.
2753  Other / MultiBit / Re: Help 6.35 BITCOINS STOLEN FROM MULTIBIT WALLET on: December 04, 2014, 03:30:18 AM
can someone tell a noob like me whether its stolen?

p.s. i had a computer crash as i unplugged my laptop without switching off...did it wipe out my btc or someone stole it

can i recover it somehow

Yeah, it looks like it was stolen, someone got your key through a malware/virus, read through the foum and learn more about cold wallets. No, the computer can not wipe out your BTC, the most it can do is corrupt a wallet, which is why it is always advised to take backups. And no to your last question, they can not be recovered.
2754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There Any Chance? on: December 03, 2014, 03:43:46 AM
Is there any chance to find those lost BTCs' private keys? Lots of early BTC adopters lost their private key and  thousands of BTC is now useless...

Nope. It's not possible. If that was possible hackers would find any key and steal BTC from any one.
2755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Introductory Course On Bitcoin - By Andreas Antonopoulos on: December 03, 2014, 03:31:14 AM
This is great initiate by University of Cypress IMO but it would even be great if some universities started accepting Bitcoin as the payment for their Course fee. Good find OP. Thx
2756  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Add two or more signature campaigns in BCT account on: December 03, 2014, 03:17:36 AM
as a member who have Member Rank in this forum can i add two or more signature campaigns in my account and how to do that???

You have to ask the sig campaign handlers first if they would allow it, which you'll find that they don't. Most sig campaigns prefer/require that the users carry only their signature and you might get kicked from the campaign if you do it without their consent.

2758  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex down on: December 02, 2014, 02:59:49 PM
Its online now.

It is on-line but anyone else having troubles withdrawing coins?? I just tried to and have been waiting for the authorization email for past 20 minutes. Normally, it takes like 2 minutes.

Edit: Didn't received the first email, had to cancel it and re-withdraw and the mail came within a minute this time. So may be it's just temporary problems with their servers.
2759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin mixing vs Bitcoin exchange. on: December 02, 2014, 07:56:45 AM
I use Bitmixer.io from time to time, they offer a great mixing service.

They do ask a 0.5% fee, though. So I mostly use it for small transactions.

With larger amounts I use an exchange, which will only cost you max 0.001BTC as withdrawal fee.

Can I ask why you or the other people use it? I mean why do they feel the need to mix their coins?
2760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do faucets afford it on: December 02, 2014, 07:50:06 AM

I host a faucet at http://moneyinpjs.com/BTCfaucet and yes it runs on ad revenue. I do make some profit (most times) but it depends if your users support you and don't use a adblocker.

Adblockers will kill all faucets if no one views the ads.

As a faucet owner, Please disable adblockers when using faucets...even if they don't require it. Over time, we could offer bigger prizes.  Grin

So do you also get paid if the users only use the faucet and don't click on any ads? Or is it in script that a user will be made to click on ads by hidden links, like the ones that usually pops up when you click on "claim faucet" etc?

And I've seen faucets/sites which detect if the user is using ad-block and they only permit access to the faucet if the user disables it first and then refreshes the page.
