2741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 27, 2016, 01:35:13 PM
If I'm rich I would not gamble to be honest because I think you have to stay rich, if you get addicted to gambling you will lose a lot of money fast.
If you want to stay rich in my eyes you also do not need to spend a lot also.

Yup! I agree with you mostly a person turned rich will gonna have a business that he likes the most and will continue to nurture it and keep an eye on it I think that is most people will do and not playing around and spending a lot on gambling.
It is of course not that smart to gamble if you are rich but if you are rich you have indeed the chance to gamble but you must dont lose that much money with gambling.
And that would be also better for you if you are not gambling so you can also save some money and that would be perfect for you.

But it can gives you fun of course but it would be smarter if you are not doing that.

well, we should change our mindset and think of gambling as a game to have fun not to waste money or earn money.
if you think of gambling as just another game that you pay to play then you can play for the fun of it and enjoy the winning amount and maybe even get rich that way.

But it isn't game of fun. It is game you play when you want to win money.
If you play for fun you can just play with play money or 1 satoshi bets.
What is the point of  involving a lot money in it if you play "just for fun"?

Hmm... No you can do both. You can play for fun with big amount in order to get the thrills.
In fact playing with small amounts makes no sense, because you don't get the thrills of "am I going to win this time?"

Well, in some games like progressive slots, you can start making more and more money out of a small initial investment. So let's say you start with 0.01 and you keep winning, and you can end up with 1+BTC with the possibility to hit a jackpot and win 5000 BTC.. so you can keep risking that 1+BTC that you already have or retire with it. And that is only thanks to 0.01BTC + luck.
2742  Economy / Economics / Re: How would you double $100,000 safely? on: April 27, 2016, 01:31:07 PM
Very easy, you just have to go all in on Bitcoin right now and wait. Let's see, we are now at $454 dollars, seems like some idiot whale panic sold and we will have a correction, so it's a good time to go all in and buy the dip.
Once we double $454 i'll bump this thread to remind people how easy it was to double your money, but of course, it's no my money so ultimately you are responsible of your actions.
2743  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: April 27, 2016, 01:05:07 PM
Bitcoin doesn't necessary aim at replacing fiat, as long as we can absorb a lot of fiat and a lot of gold and a lot of money spread all over a variety of stupid assets that aren't worth it, we will become one of the strongest commodities ever challenging gold for first spot. Once governments kick in with their plants to ban cash and negative interest rates we will all be rich (amusing you are holding more than 10 BTC already)
2744  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning a living with bitcoin? on: April 27, 2016, 12:52:09 PM
I really think its very risky to depend only on bitcoin for living as the income that you are earning is not stable and if bitcoin disappears in future then it will really difficult for you take care of your financial needs.
therefore you have to work hard and try to take advantage of the current bitcoin is still okay and the trend is on the rise.
so when bitcoin disappear in the future, you still have the advantage of bitcoin and you can use capital for business.

To use capital gained from business you need to convert your bitcoin to fiat on regular basis, and if you don't do that thinking that price will go higher and if bitcoin suddenly disappears what will you do with those coins?

yeah you should immediately sell your bitcoin, when signs of bitcoin will disappear, or when the price is high enough, you can sell it, then you stop and start doing business.

The main problem is how we know the signs of bitcoin will disappear? But I dont think that bitcoin will disapper, at least in the near future.

you have stop thinking about all these hypothetical scenarios which are never going to happen. it is meaningless saying bitcoin will disappear. because it is not like one morning you will wake up and see bitcoin doesn't exist anymore, even if there is a way it will take years and you will have more than enough time to decide.

every day that Bitcoin survives it gets even harder that Bitcoin will disappear, it gets more and more solidified and resilient against any attacks and competitors, so all those guys getting worried about long term storing Bitcoin because it may disappear are wasting their time.

The best you can do is get a job and buy Bitcoin every month, all other methods will get you nowhere unless you spend here 24/h posting with a Legendary account and that will get you banned due posting 100's of times a day, and you don't want to lose your Legendary account.
2745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's TOYS, do you like it??? on: April 27, 2016, 12:43:30 PM
I don't think there is a real market to sell tolls based on Bitcoin. T-shirts seems like a better niche to attack since a lot of people may buy it to show support, but toys? maybe only a couple of super Bitcoin fans will buy them for collectible's sake, but other than that I don't see a big opportunity in here, maybe in the future when its more mainstream.
2746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First transaction ever in Steam (video) on: April 27, 2016, 12:35:55 PM
Is it still not available in some countries? Well, good luck for that guys. Because fortunately, it's available on my country. Grin
I want to try my first transaction today, but don't know what to buy Cheesy

There is a guy that works in Bitpay in reddit, and they are saying that every country in the world will eventually have the Bitcoin option enabled in steam. If you are not still seeing your Bitcoin option in your steam, you could try by closing steam and reseting it to force the update. It appeared to me a bit later than most people.
2747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used for Good? on: April 27, 2016, 12:21:08 PM
Why money can't be used for good things? You can donate with bitcoin or you can just buy smth with bitcoin, is it bad? i don't think so. So strange question.

When the Wall Street or major financial institutions have enough holding in bitcoin, they will express that the bitcoin is a good thing.

I don't think they will ever do that because Bitcoin goes against the status quo, and they hate anything that goes against the establishment. Also unless they start stacking up really heavy now, they will never have an amount high enough to be safe to do such a thing. They will always fear that satoshi has 1 million coins.
2748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 291.2409 BTC for a 0.0001 BTC transaction . on: April 27, 2016, 12:19:11 PM
So what happened then? I think this is really important that gets clarified. What the hell causes this? can anyone explain it in a clear way?

We can't be depending on people's benevolence to return funds. And once we have confidential transactions and coin join active it will not even be able to know what the hell happened. We need the increased privacy but we need to fix this too so this doesn't happen again.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 26, 2016, 03:50:56 PM
Gambling is a pass-time for some people. Therefore, it will not be a surprise to find rich people gambling. Infact, when you visit a casino, its the rich people that occupy most of the gambling tables. They have money that they can lose with getting hurt. For a poor or moderate man, losing whatever you are using to gamble might lead to high blood pressure. Therefore, if I were rich, I will still gamble because i earn some pleasure from it.
Rich usually just waste their money in the casino and get extraordinary pleasure by doing it. While on the other side, poor people try to gamble hoping to win huge amount using a small amount of bet. That is really the difference, most of the prone people are addicted to gambling compared to rich people because rich just play occasionally.

I have heard of people that are trust find kids basically, and they spend most of their days on the casino and blow like 10K a month on there gambling on all kinds of stuff because they know that their parent's business will deliver them 10K to start once again the next month. Pretty crazy lifestyle I might say, it's like having unlimited money.
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: E-Sport Prediction , share your prediction here on: April 26, 2016, 03:49:26 PM
I used to play CS back in the 1.6 days and SK was always winning everything. I also remember Ninjas in Pajamas (NiP) and when fnatic started being a strong team is when I started getting bored of competitive gaming.

In Starcraft I also remember the days when boxer was playing and T1 was like the Ferrari team in Schumacher days.
2751  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Halving Hype on: April 26, 2016, 03:19:44 PM
The halving will just give us a higher price but definitely not enough to make us rich.

A - It has already started

B - Not higher than $700

C - In the range of $500

Not higher than $700? are you serious. Once we get the traction of going up going $700 will get crushed like it's nothing. Times time it will go way  higher than the last ATH, and once the peak is reached, it will probably stabilize all the way down to around the last ATH, so $1000-$1200 will be the new normal (the new $300-400's).
2752  Economy / Speculation / Re: how much gonna be 1 BTC in a year? on: April 26, 2016, 03:09:35 PM
It's really clear that we can be anywhere from $500 to $10000. Once the pandora's box is open the FOMO will kick in insane amounts and we will see prices higher than most considered realistic, just like no one considered realistic $1000 just a couple years ago and everyone that talked about 4 figures a Bitcoin was considered insane and to be put inside a mental institution. Next is 5 figures.
2753  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: April 26, 2016, 02:23:32 PM
Right now they are not because there is not a demand high enough for electric cars to make the oil industry scared about it, but make no mistake, in the future it will be less and less the demand for oil cars as we see high quality affordable cards like the Tesla cards becoming full electric and as we see the electricity become more and more cheaper to obtain.
2754  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the number of available bitcoins decreasing? on: April 26, 2016, 02:13:57 PM
There's no need to fear that the total supply will ever get expanded because:

1) It would instantly crash the price so there's no incentive to do so
2) It will never be a problem to run Bitcoin no matter how little Bitcoin's are available

SO in other words, Bitcoin will only appreciate with time, no real risks of holding long term, at least definitely not related to the total supply ever being modified because it makes no sense to do so.
2755  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin halving is real? on: April 26, 2016, 02:09:32 PM
Bitcoin halving happens every 4 years and its hard embedded into the code so it cannot be changed, so every 4 years we will see that the supply gets filled less and less which means existing coins will be more valuable given that the demand remains the same, and guess what, the demand is only growing and about go to the moon, so now its the best time ever to buy unless you have a time machine to go back to 2009
2756  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: April 26, 2016, 02:06:32 PM
Look at the news and look at the price. Anyone that is not believing in Bitcoin as much as ever right now is simply insane, specially if you have been long enough around here to learn what Bitcoin is and what does it mean in the current socioeconomic context.
Never before I have been more excited and motivated to hold and asset long term than with Bitcoin.
2757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got hacked , All my Bitcoin and Litecoin lost on: April 26, 2016, 02:01:58 PM
I still don't get how the hackers managed to get his wallet password. Was he using Bitcoin Core or something else? It's pretty strange that they quickly managed to move funds, if the wallet was indeed encrypted, unless that .pps file he is talking about contained a keylogger or something? but he would have needed to type the password for them to get the log.
Did you type the password to your wallet after opening anything suspicious?
2758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin be hacked? on: April 26, 2016, 01:55:49 PM
The only thing that can be hacked is the device that you are using to store your Bitcoins, if it's connected to the internet. If you have your device disabled from the internet and encrypted, then you are pretty much safe for life.
As far as hacking the actual network, you have more chances being hit by an asteroid in the face than chances of the Bitcoin network getting hacked.
2759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: April 25, 2016, 04:04:38 PM
Real Madrid just won their last match because they were behind 0-2. Cristiano Ronaldo was not playing and you saw that he was missing but luckily Gareth Baler picked it up and scored 2 goals. Real won the game with 3-2.

I think Real will win now for real. If they can win without Ronaldo, it means the team is solid, so if you add Cristiano Ronaldo on the team then it will be unbeatable. Barca is done, Neymar is too busy with his tax problems apparently and he is not focused, Messi also got something related to tax problems, this makes a pro athlete to not focus, this will show in a lackluster game. In Real everyone is now focused and ready to win.
2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PACQUIAO OR BRADLEY???????? on: April 25, 2016, 03:55:14 PM
It is time to speculate about the next Paquiao fight. I would like to see a great war against Canelo Alvarez!!! September could be a good time to see that fight.

Not really sure but maybe its  never gonna happen because pacman already a retired boxer.

Pacman will come back because he will get bored of the politician lifestyle. Pacman is a man of action and will want to fight again I have no doubt about that. Now, about a Mayweather vs Pacman 2, I don't think so. Mayweather already made Pacman look like a guy that wasn't able to do much damage to him. It would be a boring fight again for the non real boxing fans, because Mayweather never makes mistakes and doesn't take risks, and peopl want to see action all the time.
But for me in the next match of the two bradley vs pacman i think pacman will be win because he is planning to double time his practice while he is in politics.. yeah we know politics is boring but if he just looking for a passive income politics is the one that can give a passive high income.. like any official in politics.
Bradley will be down in this 2nd match i hope pacman will be win in this next match..

I think Pacman genuinely cares about his people and wants to improve the Phillipines and wants to become a politician in a legit way and not just be there for the passive income, but I think he will come back from politics and eventually fight again. And Pacman already fought Bradley for the second time and won back in 2014 so I don't know why you say he want's a 2nd match.
