2761  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: April 25, 2016, 03:46:47 PM
Probably slashdot or some other site like that since im sort of a geek and I was always looking for interesting technology news. Im pretty sure I read about Bitcoin back in 2012 or so but I didn't pay attention because it was too early and was always talked about in terms of something illegal and bad so I ignored it, so thanks to the media im not a millionaire.
2762  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: April 25, 2016, 03:31:00 PM
I mean this has been predicted by a lot of people and I can't believe how anyone in here wouldn't have guessed that the price would go up. All the good news, and the halving hype, would make a price rise inevitable, and we are only at the beginning, this time we are going to crush the ATH like a rocket on full steam all the way up aimed to not the moon, but mars.
2763  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: April 25, 2016, 02:53:36 PM
It's being done all the time, but it's way too hard. You need coordination, and you need a big amount of BTc, that's why few people can pull it off. Most of the people that actually manipulate prices are in private groups that are very secretive and are confirmed millionaires. You can't manipulate shit unless you have at least 1 million dollars in BTC because marketcap is already 7 billion (nothing in the grand scheme of things but high enough so most people can't manipulate it)
2764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption and it's future. on: April 25, 2016, 02:45:09 PM
All the Governments are corrupted and it goes same in all countries, and they know how powerful bitcoin is and what impact it can create in future if it gets legal certificate and they are worried about it.
They care about it only because it is hard to collect taxes from bitcoin transactions and bitcoin services can produce quite high revenue.
That is the only problem government has with bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. As for the impact of bitcoin - it is not as huge as we might seem to think.
Blockchain tech will have more impact on fintech that bitcoin anyway.

Blockchain tech is useless without Bitcoin because a blockchain without a decentralized currency is just a more fancy excel spreadsheet which is pretty dumb to advertise this as some sort of breakthrough, so don't fall for it, all those corporations talking about the blockchain are just in denial about Bitcoin taking over.
2765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = SHIT on: April 25, 2016, 02:37:11 PM
who cares about that. I buy the steam games via card.

it was the same with Overstock. "wow, amazing shit!" and then almost nobody used BTC for buying anything. Smiley

Who cares about if people use it or not, it's free publicity for Bitcoin anyway. And we are still on the early stages of Bitcoin, of course most people will keep using what they are used to use. If they have to buy Bitcoin to buy a steam game, that's pretty dumb, but if you get paid in Bitcoin, then everything changes, you are more prone to spend it.
2766  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: April 25, 2016, 02:18:38 PM
my worst mistake of my bitcoin is sold at the price of $ 1,000

You are kidding, aren't you? How could you say that selling btc at $1000 is a worst mistake? Did you buy it with more than $1000 each?
If you bought it when it was $300 or even less then sell it at $1000, it should be the best thing you have experienced in your life instead of a worst mistake.
I think he sold at the price of $1000 and then prices go up to $1,200 it's enough to make you sad as it may be fyou could profit  more than $1000 if you sell at the price of $ 1,200. as my friend once had 50 BTC and he bought when the price is $ 100. but if you're profit. I think you have to be grateful

Well, in a couple of months when the price goes to $2000 he will feel like shit by selling at $1000. You always lose by selling Bitcoin, unless he has already bought back to remain inside the game with an even bigger amount of Bitcoin. If he sold at $1000 and bought back anywhere below $500 then it was a great deal.
2767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = Confirmed ! on: April 25, 2016, 01:49:49 PM
First of all, PRAISE THE LORD GABEN Cheesy

Finally, the thing i've waited is confirmed. Using bitcoin to buy steam games would make it cheaper for me rather than buying it with steam wallet. I hope that this is implemented all around the world, not only the USA.

But by "using external payment provider" does it mean that they are using third-party?

Valve is most likely going to use BitPay to facilitate the Bitcoin purchases on Steam and I am waiting for BitPay officials to confirm or deny this it should be made clear in the coming days I guess. As for cheaper Steam games with Bitcoins I think Valve is going to charge people the exact same amount regardless of the method of purchasing so I fear we won't have any discounts if we use Bitcoin. I may be wrong though but Valve seems not to want to differentiate its customer base between Bitcoin and fiat that much.
The news are insanely good because not only now we can buy any games with Bitcoin, but imagine the amount of free publicity that Bitcoin is going to get once it hits Steam. All the people in Steam will see that a new payment option is available and they will become curious about what the hell is that Bitcoin thing, this can turn a lot of people into Bitcoiners.
2768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal or BTC on: April 25, 2016, 01:47:02 PM
I use paypal because I use Bitcoin as a store of value and not a currency. Im not going to buy Bitcoin just to have to convert it to Bitcoin then buy whatever I can buy already with fiat. Bitcoin is more valuable than fiat, so im not going to waste on the stupid shit that I usually buy with fiat out of boredom.
2769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = Confirmed ! on: April 24, 2016, 03:59:20 PM
I think its a fantastic idea to have steam accepting Bitcoin, finally, it has been a long time and Gabe Newel was starting to look like an idiot if he didn't start accepting payments in Bitcoin. I mean even Microsoft accept Bitcoins.
If you are not accepting Bitcoins already you will look like an idiot in the future because it will be clear that those that do not, didn't saw the opportunity to be a pioneer in something huge.
2770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PACQUIAO OR BRADLEY???????? on: April 24, 2016, 03:56:41 PM
It is time to speculate about the next Paquiao fight. I would like to see a great war against Canelo Alvarez!!! September could be a good time to see that fight.

Not really sure but maybe its  never gonna happen because pacman already a retired boxer.

Pacman will come back because he will get bored of the politician lifestyle. Pacman is a man of action and will want to fight again I have no doubt about that. Now, about a Mayweather vs Pacman 2, I don't think so. Mayweather already made Pacman look like a guy that wasn't able to do much damage to him. It would be a boring fight again for the non real boxing fans, because Mayweather never makes mistakes and doesn't take risks, and peopl want to see action all the time.
2771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be profitable in the long run! It is possible! on: April 24, 2016, 03:28:22 PM
In the long term the outcome is always the same: the house will win because the house always has an edge in his favor so the odds are always against you. The key of winning in gambling is knowing when to stop, and only play enough times to cause entropy in your favor. If you keep playing, you'll always lose, it's just pure math.
2772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: April 24, 2016, 03:24:44 PM
The only winning and smart strategy to win in gambling is to be able to have a lot of self control and know when enough it's enough. Most people lose their money because they don't know how to stop playing and are always waiting for a next, better gambling that will make them recover all of their previous loses.
2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Idea for new dice game ? on: April 24, 2016, 02:48:22 PM
I will love to see multiplayer games.
I would like to also see some sort of multiplayer competitive game that's simple and fun. Battlecoin was a great approximation of this concept, too bad that they stopped the development and now the development is frozen until the developer can find more time and money for it. I would like some arcade type fighting game or a racing game in also arcade style.
2774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which country does NOT use Bitcoin? on: April 24, 2016, 01:05:05 PM
Any country can use Bitcoin, the main point of Bitcoin is that it is permissions, so it means that no mater what opinion the government of X country has about Bitcoin, everyone can still use it because there are always workarounds to end up using it. Now as far as demographics go, I don't think there is a way to know the amount of users in A or B country.
2775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learned helplessness: why you love your abusive fiat captors on: April 24, 2016, 12:57:20 PM
People become used to what are they accustomed to do, so if they are used to fiat it's hard to break this habit and the thought of using a totally different money is not appealing to the average joe. What will make Bitcoin be used worldwide is when the governments remove physical cash. People will be used to the privacy of physical cash, and once this gets removed, it will leave a gap that only Bitcoin can fit in the next digital government controlled money nightmare we are going towards.
2776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get sex workers to use bitcoin? on: April 24, 2016, 12:41:50 PM
I mean, it makes sense right? Lots of transactions, they can teach their clients. I started a resource here as a good step.

But what are some other ways?

I think as long as the Bitcoin remains in general a niche for pioneers and people in the tech world, we are still far from now. Now, looking at how governments have a clear agenda to get rid of physical cash over the next years, I think it's pretty clear that Bitcoin will be an ideal alternative to get paid for that without no one knowing, so I think it's inevitable every sex worker on earth will eventually use Bitcoin.
2777  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doubling Bitcoin? on: April 24, 2016, 12:39:08 PM
Still right on time to buy all in on Bitcoin and watch your money double in the next months. We are going up, we already broke the fundamental buyish pressure line which was at about 449. TA says up up up, and fundamentals do as well, so all you need now is balls and good luck to go all in, it should work but it's your money.
2778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Idea for new dice game ? on: April 23, 2016, 02:33:29 PM
can they make enough dummy account to win the odds? The solution to solve the problem is quite easy I have to say: captcha(quite ineffective), prohibit VPN, proxy, or you can combine with mail verification to make sure there wont be any dummy accounts.

Mail verification might work but I think phone verification is much better because apparently, one person can hold tons of gmail accounts.

But if the giveaway is considerably low to the point that making dummy accounts wouldn't be worth the effort, that shouldn't be a problem for the owners. However given that if the giveaway is considerably low, that wouldn't attract many gamblers at all.

If it's considerably low then there's no point in hiring a programmer for an automated giveaway because it wouldn't lighten the gamblers' mood at all. Like, if a gambler just lost all his money. And then he got chosen as a 'lucky' winner of the giveaway that has a prize that is considerably low, that might just piss the gambler. Thus, making him leave the site completely. Just an IMO though. Giveaways should be helpful in getting back what a gambler has lost.
I cant agree more with you my friend Grin anti proxy and VPN might be a cheaper solution to this as phone verification requires you to send a lot of international message which can cost you a fortune.

If you make a site that's Bticoin related and it's anti privacy (and by anti privacy I mean anti proxies, anti vpn, anti tor... you name it) it's always going to get bad rep amongst its users because Bitcoin is about privacy, so it's always recommended that when you are making the design of a site, it will be compatible with proxies.
2779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [MMA Tips] UFC 197 Saint Preux Vs Jones on: April 23, 2016, 02:24:18 PM
I really hope Jon Jones gets his has kicked, but even if I want that, im not gonna lie, going to bet for Jon Jones because it's obviously the easy bet. Honestly I don't think no one can ever beat Jon Jones unless he stick around for so much time that he starts getting old and out of shape, kind of like what happened to Fedor.
2780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PACQUIAO OR BRADLEY???????? on: April 23, 2016, 02:03:36 PM
How about GSW vs HOUSTON?Huh  I earn almost 1 btc for the past GSW games LOL Smiley can't wait for the next game Smiley)

Haha. 1BTC per GSW game! Not bad, not bad at all. Hmm.. Not a bad idea at all! GSW vs Houston eh?

You two are spamming the tread. This topic is not about NBA. This is pacquiao vs. Bradley. Learn to read sometimes.

I think pacquiao is still in a good condition despite his age. It would be great if Pacquiao and mayweather rematch. I still want pacman to win if this happens, i guess mayweather will keep on hugging pacman again the next fight. What a big mouth mayweather has got.

Mayweather made Pacman look like an amateur, sorry but Pacman fans are delusional and need to admit defeat. I don't think Mayweather will give Pacman a second chance, specially after all that bullshit excuses that Pacman team said about how he had an unreported arm injury.

Most of Pacman hits got blocked, and the rest were just missed punches

Im not saying the fight was super exciting but it was good as a boxing fan.
There is always a second man, mayweather does not fight with dignity, he always fight for money without entertaining the crowd, if the price is good for mayweather, I don't think he will not grab it.

Mayweather fights to win. All fighters should fight to win, and if you are a boxing fan you will appreciate his defensive and elusive style. It was entertaining to me seeing a fighter as skilled as Pacquiao being rendered pretty much useless against him. I mean look at that punch. When Pacman threw a punch combo, the crowd went nuts, but no one of those punches did anything to him.

Boxing is too boring if all fighters are the same in strategy of mayweather. I mean 2 warriors are inside the square to throw combos and show the world who is better fighter between and let the peoples watching around be enetertained that is how they get paid. But depense is also part of boxing but doesnt mean that a boxer like mayweather used to hug pacman when being hit all the round and ran all the round was in a real boxing match. That was a street fight and was not entertaining.

Pacquiao has a total different style compared to Mayweather. Pacquiao is very fast and very explosive and agressive, throws a lot of punches. Mayweather is the ultimate master of precision and defense. He doesn't throw a lot of punches, but he scores most of them. Pacquiao throwed a lot of punches to Maywaether, but his attack was not better than Mayweather defense. You are talking as if any boxer can do what Mayweather do and that's stupid. As if it was as easy to "run and hug" in front of the best fighters in the world.
