What's the connection of chess being lacking spectators? Is that even a criteria?

Chess is really not meant for having a large audience to prevent the distraction of the players. I like chess and already participated in an event way back several years. Our country does have lots of good chess players. They are playing in a silent venue so don't expect a lot of spectators there.

I don't mean that this is why the IOC doesn't include this in the games. I just wanted to say that chess is not a popular game, and that it attracts little attention.
Then there are sports that are somehow popular in the country, but that doesn't mean they are in other countries.

There are sports much more popular than surfing for example and they are not Olympic games. But this is often the fault of the people who are in charge of the organizations of these games, who, for not knowing how to organize themselves, cannot do a correct job to make these sports Olympic.

@joker_jouse in my personal opinion it’s way to boring to watch player’s play chess, because they need to think a lot while they make a move and that waiting period is very difficult for me to watch.

Furthermore I have never really met people who say they’re a chess fan, and honestly it’s one sport we rarely see discuss here too so unless demand for it grows I doubt we’ll see Chess in the Olympics.
2762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- now at: 21/22 3rd Qualifying Round on: August 12, 2021, 03:20:04 AM
Hahaha, It's really funny. But now we can’t take the PSG team lightly. They have one of the best players in the world in their team. Ramos is one of the best players in the world in defending. Messi is the dribbling master at the forward, moreover, there is no other player with such great speed as Mbappe. One of the best goalkeepers Donnarumma is in their squad. PSG will be a little ahead of Manchester City in terms of players. But City is in charge of Guardiola. He can turn the game around at any time.

Never have, I always think they'll go far, but fall short -- sort of like City. Slick as you like, bursting with talent, but you question their ability to dig in, and it's hard to be hungrier than the underdogs once you reach the final. Real is probably one of the few teams capable of that feat and that's down to Zidane having his team at his feet.

PSG-City final on the cards? Cept I got Liverpool to win it at almost 9/1 ha ha.

With players like Neymar, Mbappé and the campaign, PSG will definitely be the Champions League favorite, their only problem is that the domestic championship does not allow maintaining a high level of players' motivation due to its weakness.
It is very good that there is always a high level of randomness in the playoffs and that other teams always have the opportunity to beat the money bag  Smiley

No one enjoys it like I do. Almost every 10/1 or more game in UCL is a must-bet for me;)

Indeed, very true comparison between City and PSG, go far and fall short. That is what would be so exciting if indeed both teams would face each other in a Champions League. One thing would be certain even before the game would have started: there'd be much more trauma to come for one of the two! Tongue

But Messi facing Pep and all the superstars in both squads, that would be a final worth every single second of the 90 minutes watching the game. I think that Messi will have one of his stronger seasons of his career in the coming year. Ligue 1 won't motivate him much although he will deliver, but in the CL I can see him go nuts once more as if he had to prove something bigger one more time.

I also would like to add that Poch has a huge task at his hand with this randomly assembled squad, hence I don’t expect PSG to win Champions League because they barely had any time to integrate all player’s. Furthermore while these are superstars, but the bigger superstar bigger their ego, so Poch will have a hard time managing their fragile egos.

Got this from a friend...  There’s a conspiracy theory going around that the real reason Vettel got disqualified was because he disprespected the Hungarian government for wearing the rainbow mask signifying support for LGBT.  Hungary is known to be anti gay and ultra conservative.  Plausible theory?
Don't think so, the data is shared between FIA and Aston Martin.
It can't be a conspirency since the team knows how much fuel they have left and they never said "we have more than 1 liter".
There is not an either/or situation in that case. For example let's say that he actually did break the rule and do not have fuel left under the certain limit, but that could have been ignored if he was respectful? I mean I am not sure, I am just guessing at this point.

However it is obvious that you do not have to really respect the government for each place you race, they also race in other places where LGBT is not very much liked, hell even in Europe not everywhere likes them a lot, and in that case we are talking about basically just a situation where drivers can do whatever they want, and the government can't meddle with FIA or they will be banned from participating and FIA can easily pick another track, why would they care about one track when they can pick another in a single day? So governments can't meddle with fear of losing the race rights.

I highly doubt that this was the reason why he got disqualified, because fans all across the globe would have protested against it. Also I feel we should not fuel such wild theory’s, because there will be people who’ll believe this and spread unnecessary rumours which will further complicate this situation.

Its almost official that Ravi Shastri is stepping down as Indian coach after T-20 WC.

Finally.  Grin

I don't know whether he had any positive contribution to the team during all these years when he "coached" them. But he was one of the lucky ones. India was winning bilateral series on a constant basis against very tough opposition and he was also praised for that (irrespective of whether he had any direct contribution or not). And from what I heard, most of the coaching staff will be gone after the world cup. Apart from Shastri, this includes Bharat Arun, Vikram Rathour and Ramakrishnan Sridhar (respectively the coaches for bowling, batting and fielding).
I think majority, including me hate him because of his chutiyapa statements, cheer leading behavior and the way he got the job (Virat-Kumble saga) but if we put aside our hatred for a sec and judge his term based on Test format then he did good job IMO. Under his term we were very competitive in last SA,ENG tour despite many selection blunders, we won in Australia twice and didn't lost any single series at home, although Indian side was already tough to beat at home turf.

He didn't add anything new in limited over cricket though.

All 3 coaching staff are yes men to Shashtri so i don't hold high opinion for them but our bowling department is doing good so no complaints towards Bharat Arun. Sridhar is dissapointing and i think Jhonty Rhodes should replace him, if he gets the chance.

@JSRAW I’m not aware of much internal politics in team India, but whatever he did he managed to get results and in the end that’ll only count when people look back at his coaching history. Also if there’s a person who can coach team India it should be their ex batman Rahul Dravid, I heard he’s doing pretty good job as a coach and he should be given the job.

Why was Shivnarine Chanderpaul forced to retire, i do not know these stories but i would like to know. I know they had a great team in the past but for decades they are a mediocre team in the longer format.

West Indies cricket team doesn't represent a single nation, but more than a dozen different countries. So it is normal to have differences related to selection policies. And in West Indies, religion and race plays a large part in sports. In case of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, he was kicked out of the team because the selectors wanted Brian Lara to remain as the top run-scorer for West Indies in test cricket. Lara has a total of 11,953 test runs to his name, while Chanderpaul had 11,867 runs when he was dropped from the test side (86 runs behind Lara). Also, Chanderpaul was quite assertive about his religion, which worked against him in a region where non-Christian religions are treated sub-par.

@Sithara007 this is a totally new angle for me cause for all this while I believed he was dropped because of his form, and due to his age. Furthermore I did a quick search to see if what you say is mentioned somewhere, but all I found was articles saying he was dropped due to poor form, and due to him being 40 years, so I’m sharing those links below have a look and offer your take on them.

@blackjack.fun, There is no min withdrawal limit, right? I think the FAQ page should have some information regarding min withdrawal amount. Another thing I want to know, user can't open the withdrawal page without making first deposit. I can't remember it, but is that true? It will be appreciated if you provide an appropriate answer there (Re: (Table) Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos).
As I know site have a no minimum withdraw (must be more than tnx fee), and it’s instant. But sometime i have seen it say amount is too small to withdraw. Maybe due to you are paying 80-90% of you withdrawal amount as tnx fee. In this maybe so the error of small amount. Don't know the exact reason of it.

Withdrawal page can not open without making first deposit does not mean you can not withdraw any winnings or giveaway. It mean as soon as you have some balance in your account then the page will work well.

@sujonali1819 I feel you’re correct because when I was actively playing there I remember asking this why was my withdrawal saying too less, and then I saw the fees, and I think someone in the chat pointed too that fees had to be covered.

Also one can always participate in their giveaways to test and withdraw, and personally I find the admin very helpful because he’s made a very nice site for all of us to enjoy blackjack without any stress.

I feel it’ll a tough call for them because if they decide to launch it then they’ll have to further run promos for the sportsbook, and which would mean less promos for their existing games and it could hurt their regular customer base.

Furthermore if they offer lower odds then the existing one’s then they’ll become obsolete even before they can stabilise, hence they should think this move thoroughly if they’re keen to venture into launching their own sportsbook.
I feel like they could just make a deal with some provider, that way they do not have to even have a bankroll for it, they are just putting the odds that the provider tell them to put and that's about it, nothing else really matters for them and there is basically zero cost aside from marketing of course.

I do not see too much downside for them, it may or may not make them money, but it will not cost them too much money neither. They can do promos, they can do marketing, but half of them comes from provider anyway, that is why you see all those amazing NFL superbowl promos everywhere, it is not casinos, most of them are main providers that work with those casinos, and yes sometimes casinos give something more on top of what the provider pays, but for starting out as a new place you can only use providers promotions and that would probably be enough to get people know about your sportsbook side as well.

@jostorres one key downside I see is when a bet will be voided by the provider, Windice will be blamed for the cancellation and the gambler will post negative reviews against them. Furthermore those who like to wager on sportsbook will constantly hound them for better odds, and again that’ll be out of their hands.

We already have several good sportsbooks here to choose from. So right now, I don't think it will be good idea for them to go into that scene. Unless, they will find in the future that they can compete with established sportsbooks. What I am interested here is that, will the wincoin have market value in the future? Because a lot of casinos are now creating their own tokens or coins that they can also exchange in the market. Or they will just keep it in their site and remain as play coin?

@tippytoes exactly my point unless they have something better to offer for gamblers starting a sportsbook doesn’t make much sense, but then again let’s see what the team has to say about this. Also you have raised a very important point for now I don’t think there’s much information about Wincoin price, but if they grow then in my personal opinion they may just list it on an exchange in the near future.

I'm curious about the trading in your gambling site, how does it work? Is it a game too or it's a trading just like any other exchange site? or is it something like you need to predict the price in the next 1 minute if its going up or going down? I think I've seen something like that before here in the forum.

It's the bolded. You just predict where the price direction in the future and if your assumption is correct, you win.

Thanks just what I've thought. It's rare to see games like this on gambling site, I'll try this out. I also like that you can login using your steam account is much easier and also I do like that there's a lot of challenges that I can choose from.

@sempak you can only succeed in this game if you can make quick decisions, because predicting prices so soon requires lots of precision. Furthermore you’ll also need an insane luck to win your wagers, so begin with small amounts and then you can wager big amounts on this game once you have mastered the art of predicting price’s correctly.
2769  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 10, 2021, 08:10:28 AM
This was asked multiple times but I think Roobet should also consider adding sports betting on their website, I honestly like playing games on your website but sometimes I'm waiting for events like recently the Olympics and probably other sports and I don't want to leave Roobet and go to another side it's much better if I stay on your site.
Well, then you must have noticed during one of your recent logins that Roobet.com now also offers sports betting - if not, then just scroll up very briefly, the post directly above yours already discusses the new feature - and the advertising for it.

So you can stay with roobet with peace of mind  Wink

I didn't noticed it, I tried to check it again yes indeed there's sports betting. That's really nice, the Roobet is now complete. I'll be placing my bets now Smiley

I feel this is a brilliant strategic move from Roobet, and now their users will have one more reason to stay engaged on the site for long periods of time. Furthermore has anyone tested their odds if yes how are they in comparison to other sportsbook providers?.
2770  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: August 10, 2021, 03:02:20 AM
a quick update on that: this changed after I hired a lawyer in Curacao, specialized on E-Gaming (thanks to Lonnie for the contact) a couple of months ago, and in the end 1bet temporarily re-opened the account, so that I was able to withdraw my money now.there are lawyers in Curaço who deal with online bookmakers' scams there.I don't know what country you are from, but if you go to the police of your country, most of you will be sanctioned for playing on an unlicensed site. What country are you from?

And can you give me a contact to contact them? I live in Moscow now, but what is the point of asking where I'm from?

P.S. Account restored after blocking, but not yet verified.

I’m not sure you should contact anyone you meet from a forum due to security reasons, hence I would suggest wait for Cloudbet to sort it for you. However if you want to pursue it legally then, do proper due diligence otherwise you’ll end up burning more money in legal fees.

Thanks, we've been in crypto gambling over 8 years now and it has been a thrilling ride to watch this brand start from zero and grow into a global name. Forever grateful to this community for giving us our start, where would we be without bitcointalk I wonder.
I didn't know that, my bad. That only mean that you deserve what you're currently enjoying because you've worked hard. This community is a pretty good one, never thought a forum like this would be so active, hopefully the growth of the community and in extension the love for your site grows more in the future.

I liked how you’ll managed to retain the identity of PD, and yet diversify into Stake to provide gamblers what they need more and more games and a reliable sportsbook too. Also a shoutout to the entire team and especially @symphonized who has had to bear lot of criticism for doing the daily job here, and lastly I wish you’ll the very best and keep amazing us as always.

Still think City + MLS contract would have been better for Messi but I guess he wanted to play with Neymar again and earn shitload of money. I am giving them 10 games before egos start acting up in PSG dressing room. I don't think there is dressing room big enough for Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.

That @433 odds special is really something and I had to play it, would be hell of start for new season and very nice boost to my betting bank. What was max amount allowed for this bet? I had no limit but I had quite low balance. Realistically I know it will not hit, I got a hit on multi like that just once in my life and it was Island first and second league combined, all games that day, 6-8 games, not sure anymore.

Haha, yeah, if an ego issue were to arise, I'd pinpoint one of the younger boys, though to be very fair, Mbappe and Neymar have somehow appeared to mellow over the years (then again, Benzema Mbappe managed to produce sparks).

I do remember the Neymar-Messi-Suarez super partnership though, and those were 3 really big egos that got along really, really well, no?

I've only had one 200+ to 1 odds hit too but it was during a contest, and I was playing maybe 10 different combinations of accas on system bets a day for a week (still something interesting for SB to look into).

But yeah, 433 was so, so special. There have been several MD1 specials in the past that would have hit -- no draws, more than 2 goals every game, all yellows -- but nothing as big as this.

Of course, I'm sure you took today's 366/1 Special, a goal in each half of Week 1;)

I am having doubts about Messi heading to PSG now because he said it’s a possibility, but many club are interested so will City suddenly announce his signing?. Also I doubt their egos will clash because they’re more matured player’s now, and they’ll enjoy playing besides him if he ends up in PSG.

You are not important enough for people to remember what drivel you came out with 4 months ago. If you don't like gambling you should stay away from gambling sites and the gambling board of this forum. It is obvious why people who come here to discuss gambling don't want to read the deranged rantings of some idiot crying about losing a longshot bet.
"45% APY" is a clickbait (a priori 45% per year will never be realized, because this proposal is valid for a couple of hundred hours). All this was invented by you and is calculated on the fact that a lot of people will go to buy FUN tokens in the hope of earning 45%. The rest of those who have already purchased FUN tokens at the peak of the price (February-April 2021) will massively lock their FUN tokens (a small handout from you for a ghostly benefit) so that only you can sell FUN tokens. As soon as your insidious plans are realized, the price of the FUN token will start a massive collapse, as you organized in May-July 2021. Some people still cannot discern that you are a wolf in sheep's clothing, secretly doing your dirty deeds at night. I'm one of the few open their eyes, and you feel that if all this continues at the same pace you will not be able to deceive them.
This is the real reason for adding me and others to the ignore list.

I don’t know who you’re but you’re absolutely wrong about all this, as Freebitco is one of the most transparent sites I have ever seen in this industry. Also I have seen @TheQuin answer more information than what’s necessary at times just for the sake of transparency, but you’re taking advantage of his good nature by constantly bombarding this thread with FUD.

To stand a chance to be promoted, Hamburg SV will have to work very hard to win this season. If not they risk going to relegation. They are already looking good on the table. Their attacking down the wings is strong however they must work on stopping opponents from creating chances. Well who knows they might just win the league.

Always Remember That They Are With Werder Bremen, Hannover 96 and Schalke in the 2.Bundesliga.

Only 2 matches have been carried out, Karlsruher and Regensburg lead the provisional standings with 6 points. But I firmly believe that the winner of the 2.Bundesliga this season comes from the club that was relegated before, could it be Schalke Huh
Its too early to say but in order to do that shalke need improvements true after the big win in the last round it seems that they gained confidence but judging from the performance in the second half they need to improve their defencive strategy too many occasion for the opposition team but i think hamburg and werder bremen might be a contender to get back to the bundesliga.

I remember discussing how Shalke needs to improve if they wish to be promoted again, and it looks like they’re working hard behind the scenes to make it happen. Furthermore you’re right with teams like Werder Bremen and Hannover 96 battling for promotion all the other teams will have to step up, otherwise I feel two slots are already booked.

Manchester City will win the league with their players they have now but if they do manage to buy Kane they will run away with the league. I think Manchester United will be runners up and Chelsea and Liverpool will be close fight for the third place. I do not think Lukaku will go back to Chelsea because they will not pay what Inter will require for him to move he has been one of the best players in the Italian league.

@AverageGlabella if Manchester City secures Kane transfer then we might as well hand them the premier league trophy, because they’ll be literally unstoppable. Also you’re wrong cause Chelsea has a made a big cash offer for Lukaku, and it’s only a matter of time before Inter Milan accept it.

About Messi's decision that changed from before, where previously Messi was willing to stay at Barcelona by reducing his salary, but before the league started it turned out that new news emerged about Messi who would leave Barcelona. With a decision like this I'm not sure Barcelona will be able to win the title this season, because before I was sure if Messi stayed at Barcelona then of course Barcelona's chance to get the title this season is very big. Sad
Messi was willing to stay back at Barcelona. He even agreed to reduce he salary by 50 percent, but unfortunately, the team won't be able to keep him because of the financial difficulties they are currently facing. He was very productive to the club. According to Report, PSG are making plans about signing him.

@blackened515 I don’t know why but I feel that this was a planned script, Messi got his revenge by removing the ex president, the current president promised Messi to allow him to part in a way which would not look bad on Messi, and in the process he removed Messi’s huge wages from the club bill so a win - win for them.

Also I know many won’t agree with my words, but according to Barcelona they suddenly realised at this stage of the window that it was not possible to keep Messi, and this is a ridiculous claim but they accept us to believe it that they didn’t know about their own financial situation till now.

They won't end up in big financial trouble. With the transfer of Sancho they are definitely fine. Not only did cost a lot of money regarding the transfer fee, but Dortmund now also saves his salary, which would have been increased anyway I assume. Haaland won't leave unless a club is willing to pay an absolutely gigantic sum of money.

Also I think they can sell relatively well their tickets again to vaccinated fans and those hardcore fans in Dortmund are probably going to get vaccinated in order to go the home games. Dortmund will be alright.
They don't have bad financial trouble but they have problem with Haaland. The release price in the contract signed between them allows Haaland to be bought by other clubs with discount price in the next transfer season.

So if Dortmund don't think they can convince Haaland to sign a new contract, with bigger release cost, and can not convince him to stay longer, they will have to sell Haaland in this summer. It is bad to wait one more season and lose half of income from Haaland transfer.

The release clause will be valid since June 2022. It is a trap for Dortmund because if they won't win any title in a season 2021-2022, they will no longer be able to keep Haaland.
https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/here-we-go-erling-haaland-release-clause-details-inside-psg-kylian-mbappe-contract-talks-more/

Despite the conflicting rumors, Borussia Dortmund have privately let it be known that Erling Haaland's release clause will only be valid starting June 2022, at a price point of €75 million (roughly $91 million).

@SquirrelJulietGarden it’s a very difficult call for Dortmund because if they sell Halland now the fans will be furious, if they sell him next year which is 100% guarantee they’ll have to then they’ll be getting peanuts from his sale.

Lastly the management has to decide whether it’s worth keeping him or it’s not, but from a financial perspective they should sell Halland now and reinvest that money in the squad.

It seems that what Conte has predicted so far has come true if Inter Milan will sell a lot of their star players this season, the financial problems that plague Inter Milan right now certainly make many people predict if Inter Milan which is under the control of the Suning group has ended and even now Inter Milan are in a pretty bad situation even though last season they won the Scudetto Serie A 2020/21 season.
Inter Milan current ownership has continued to change in recent year.
We already talked about the bad situation of Inter during the last season and fortunately they won the scudetto after all. Now, Conte should be lucky to leave the boat before seeing Eriksen situation then Hakimi and Lukaku signing elsewhere or almost. Right now I don't see Inter competitive, they will be somewhere between 6-10 spots imo unless making good signing and we all know how hard it will be..
Inter Milan have ended right now and less chance to get scudetto again in this year after loss Antonio Conte as coach and now they have ready sell Lukaku to Chelsea, they lost most important player last season Lukaku made many goals for Inter Milan, very hard because they will play on champion league but many player was sold.
Yes, Lukaku's transfer will greatly reduce Inter's competitiveness in the new season. It is surprising that not so long ago both the club and the player himself said the opposite, and now they themselves do not rule out a transfer. I understand the resentment and rage of the club's fans, to whom the management promised not to make large sales after the departure of Ashraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain, and Lukaku personally announced that he was happy with everything at the club. I also understand Chelsea, who are looking for a good striker in the transfer market and want to quickly arrange a transfer. As far as we know, Lukaku and Chelsea have already agreed on the terms of a personal contract.

I have a different view of this situation here what if Inter Milan was keen to keep Lukaku, but he himself is forcing this move because he wants to play in the premier league again?. Also second reason is Lukaku wants to punish Manchester United for selling him, hence more than the club the blame of this deal lies on Lukaku.

In the next few hours we will get the first Ligue 1 match between Monaco - Nantes. I wonder if it will be an easy match and bet for Monaco to get a win in this opening match. If we look only from head to head then obviously, Monaco are in control but I'm still cautious because this is the opening game with a squad that may have changed will be the difference in the game.

@hahay it’ll be an interesting match to watch because the first game is always special, both the teams will be fresh and will try to win this game. However Monaco does looks strong to me, at least on paper so while it’s a risky idea you might as well try but don’t wager too much also.
