Well those LTC you don't give a fuck about gave me +20% btc in the last couple hours alone.
Take a look at that chart. Couple hours of profit, several months worth of losses.

Does anyone know if these guys have actually taped out? I find it extremely hard to believe that they will deliver anything in February if they have not taped out yet...
Not yet. They do need to tape out asap if they want to hit a Feb date.

It is trivial to increase the divisibility of bitcoin. And litecoin is not a solution to bitcoin scaling issues. If bitcoin can't scale and fails, then so does litecoin.
Yup, litecoin is actually less scalable. More blocks means more overhead. An altcoin that can handle fast microtransactions will come about sooner or later.

More profitable than GPU mining. Not ASIC mining!

Don't forget that the increase is exponential so an average 25% increase/jump is is effectively a 26,500% increase over the next 25 jumps which based on my napkin math is something like 115,617 petahash/sec in 10 months. I think the last 10 months we've seen a 16,500% increase and that is during the introduction of ASIC miners and the last month looks like it might be under 25%. If you think that's a big under-estimate what do you think it will be in 10 months?
Did you mean 25% per adjustment? You said "25% difficulty increase per month". 25% per adjustment might be just fine. 25% per month is not.

Oh my. I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing after he said "Bitcoin maintains a fraud-free market".

I think most of us have already ROI'd in USD, the issue is BTC...
Yeah, but now's a great time to order a new miner. When's the next batch, Dave???

You don't see too many posts gloating about they sold at the top and rebought at the bottom.
Trading fees really eat into your profits when taking advantage of small swings, so you gotta wait for the bigger swings. I sold at 1035 and rebought at 930. Btcchina's no-fee trading sure looks attractive.

so all you guys think were going to be well over 2 billion by halfway thru next year??
1 billion by end of year, 2 billion by end of Feb. There's no way they'll ship by then.

lesson: pay the transaction fee.
Transaction fee will not guarantee a quick confirmation.

Amazed by how people still tries to cash out using MtGox.
I didn't see any report of somebody successfully cashing out a significant amount of USD in months.
I just received my 5%-fee wire that was requested 4 weeks ago.

If they are *really* interested in making their customers happy, they should ship the MPP before the official three months is up, since it should be obvious to anyone that people like me will *not* be making back their BTC investment with a mere 400 GH/s. I mean, we're almost a third of the way through it already since they decided to start counting from when the miners *should* have shipped, October 30-ish.
At this rate the MPP boards will ship before the actual miners!

I just tried calling BFL because on their site says:
5 GH/s Bitcoin Miner Units in Stock. Immediate Delivery $274.00
I was wondering if that was true, since what I'm hearing here is horror stories. I spent 2 minutes going through the menus and listening to the automated message. Finally when it said press 0 to talk to an operator, I thought great, instead it ended the call. I'm not sure what to think now.
"Immediate" is a misleading term when dealing with the likes of BFL. Their latest shipping update was "Jalapenos 5 gh/s: June 7, 2013". They still have 5 months backlogged orders for those. If you order today, it will not ship immediately. They are lying, again.

Difficulty won't keep doubling for more than a few more months. It'll level off eventually, and these should reach break even in 6-12 months.

Excellent release. Good to see progress. Decent package size (25x25mm). Do you have an estimated die size? 1 die per package?
|
|
|
an average of 25% difficulty increase per month
Wow, that's so under-estimating the coming hashrate. The last time we had a slow month like that was nearly a year ago before ASICs shipped. It's going to be another year from now before we see a slow month like that.
