2781  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Avoid 4444sport.com until they change their behavior on: December 26, 2021, 05:05:18 AM
Don't know who locked their self-moderated thread, but I believe OP (4444sport.com) has done it. I just tried to access the platform after watching this post. And I noticed that the website isn't reachable. Probably they have failed to continue their scam attempt for more long. Because, they were caught and tagged by the forum members for their unusual (fraudulent) activity. Thanks to everyone who posted negative feedback on their trust page and supported the flag.
Looks like a late Christmas gift for the scam hunters of bitcointalk.

But just like any other scammer on the internet, they will change names and possibly continue to run another site at which point someone again will call them out and they will run away with their tails between their legs. Till then be vigilant for similar looking sites and always be careful about Self-modded ANNs.

BTW did anyone try to report their domain name to the domain register (NameCheap) for being a fraudulent website? It can be worth a try.
2782  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Bull Market will Start on: December 25, 2021, 05:36:48 AM
I just passed over another thread "When bear market will start" - it only exemplifies how humans are never satisfied with one thing. Give them a bull market they ask for a bear market and vice versa. Cheesy

Hello Everybody can we expect Bull market in January 2022,
Of course we can expect anything to happen. But there is no guarantee that such a market will be possible in Jan2022. What you can logically say is that in future bitcoin's price in fiat will increase, but exactly when cannot be predicted with high accuracy.

If you were looking for a quick flip and bought bitcoin at the last dump, you might need to hold a longer period of time. Get used use this, happened a lot of times in the past.

Can bitcoin create his ATH in 2022.
Oh are we adding a gender to bitcoin now? Get ready for the SJW or some other digital mob to come barking at you. Roll Eyes
2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to invest in a possible Bear market? on: December 25, 2021, 05:25:59 AM
What is better to pour your assets into in a possible bear market? Is it better to keep them in stableconies or not leave the market and pour funds into more stablecoins?
You have misunderstood the use of stablecoins. Their use is to multiply your gains in between the cycles. When the bear market starts, you use stablecoins that you had from the previous cycle to buy BTC and then hold that BTC till the bull market starts and then sell it for a multiplied gain. They add liquidity where it is needed. They are not a hodl instrument as per my views.

Quote
Personally, I prefer not to leave the market, but to transfer assets from tokens to tokens. Think that blockchain projects and their tokens will be the best for this, since as the market grows, all money begins to go from the risky to more risky and liquid projects / tokens. Therefore, they must return in the opposite order. But you also need to take into account the prospects of the project itself, because if it does not have development, then money will not be poured into it either in a bull market or in a bear market.
That last line is the essence. Most projects cannot recover when bear markets start but they have improved handling of money nowadays so then do survive. But the point is that altcoin projects will never be as big as what bitcoin has been. If you want to profit from the bear, buy bitcoin.

Quote
At the moment, for example, I am shielding a good idea to pour my funds into tokens young blockchains such as -snip-. Because they have perspectives and good technology and users who support them at all times.
I have seen hundreds of "good technology" projects in the past and they dont have any market activity nor social media activity any more. Teams have abandoned the projects and the investors have lost their money. This sector is like that, so be careful what you are investing in. Bitcoin is a safe bet, no matter what.
2784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a "Global Unit of Account"? on: December 25, 2021, 05:13:26 AM
The statement that came from a certain bitcoin accepting country's president, comes due to years of hatred against the Dollar added with it the financial incentives that bitcoin-related companies might provide to that country if they come in and settle there. The second point has been the major reason why this country accepted bitcoin as a legal tender despite the public being skeptical about it.

I feel this type of forced acceptance does not generate a healthy ecosystem for something that is new, however I am not the president so it does not matter.

Coming back to the OP's topic, if you look at the global currencies we tend to compare every asset with USD because it is the dominant one but we can also compare with our local currency. Really there is no single "global unit of account", we use what we feel is suitable. Even if in future bitcoin is made the basis of comparing, it would only change the fact that it is deflationary compared to fiat.
2785  Economy / Economics / Re: Sharing and helping others on: December 24, 2021, 11:16:39 AM
I can't count my departmental mate that I have introduced to cryptocurrency, though they were all driven by the sweet gains they hear from people but after giving them the necessary digest and important info, they refer to be a long term holder than engaging in all this shitcoins that are usually introduced to newbies.
You should make sure that your mates understand what bitcoin is and how it works first. Then they will appreciate it more than the shitcoins, because they will realize the lacking of the latter.

Usually people lack the capital at hand to buy bitcoin because buying one bitcoin is not a joke, it is costly for an average salaryman from a middle class family. Therefore teach them about the divisibility of one whole bitcoin into smaller fractions and ask them to buy a fractional amount instead.

Quote
Giving and sharing this knowledge will make you feel like a boss and by the time you share this knowledge and the idea works for them, trust tlme, they will appreciate you the rest of their life and they will always consult you with new information or anything new things before they execute them.
True, but dont force them to buy anything, otherwise they will put all their losses on your head. You should only inform them so they can execute their choice but not make their choice by yourself.

Show them the charts and try to clear their confusion regarding bitcoin. This is how everyone can help possible investors into bitcoin.
2786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to cover your main wallet? on: December 24, 2021, 11:08:12 AM
You would need to use a mixer for sure.

In bitcoin we have got loads of well known mixers, but for altcoins there is lacking in the market, fortunately fellow member @ryzaadit was kind enough to suggest a name, I suggest you use that for now. In the past we have heard that the mixer logs get stolen or forced by law enforcement but it is the best you have right now.

Be careful with what you are doing with your coins. I hope you are not attempting to launder money by this method because you will get caught sometime in the future, if you are taking any unlawful route.
2787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When bear market? on: December 24, 2021, 11:04:28 AM
This usually happens, when the market shows an increase even though it is small then I believe the market will skyrocket soon, for those who have known the market for at least 3 years of course understand this pattern and I don't panic even though the market is corrected in early December until now significantly.
The price of bitcoin has gone back up to 51k today and considering last week we were struggling at the 45k levels, this is an improvement if not a sign for a bullish buying pressure which I was hoping to see gradually.

I think currently it needs a large enough volume to destabilize the currency bull trend and that cannot be sustained for long making the bearish trends only short lived and sudden in nature.

My suggestion would be to wait and watch if you in the buying mood, dont buy now when the price is on the higher side, that is a mistake. But you must buy when the price dips below 45k and goes towards 40k USD.

I am expecting some more drops to the 40k levels pretty soon or else we are going to 60k if bullish pressure is strong enough.

Expect the altcoins to go in the similar manner, you can buy those too if you wish back when the bitcoin price drops. But dont forget that bitcoin is the gold standard, rest all are not comparable to it.
2788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO..India is NOT Banning Bitcoin on: December 23, 2021, 05:01:39 AM
Just an update to the fact that the crypto bill was supposed to be launched in the parliament this year winter session, it has been withheld for now.

https://gadgets.ndtv.com/cryptocurrency/news/cryptocurrency-bill-india-parliament-winter-session-withheld-2662529

This is the second time the bill got delayed - previously on the monsoon session of parliament.

Whatever be the political tensions in the parliament, the winter session was closed early and therefore I guess this issue which is given less importance by the government over present issues, has been delayed.

I hope that something concrete can happen in future, let them analyze what other countries are doing about regulations and take the best route possible.

For now, I think this thread can be locked.
2789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Besides BTC and ETH what coins would you invest in long term? on: December 23, 2021, 04:55:01 AM
I am not talking about crap coins or coins "du jour" that are hyped today but seem to fade as time goes on
Every new coin that is coming up needs to create a hype so without saying, it is always going to be a crap coin in the end. Without the hype they would never get any social media or new media attention.

Quote
So what legit coins do you see blossoming in the future long term? i am interested in investing in them.
Bitcoin only. Bitcoin is still in its early phase and it is still cheap than what it can possibly priced in fiat currency when the minting of new bitcoins officially ends.

Just consider asking this same question back in 2010 and the answer would have been same, and you would have bought bitcoin in a large amount - how much possible profit would you have today if you did not sell all this while?

Quote
ill add another question on top of this one, is -snip- hype coins today that hot today but not tommorow?
Many projects are having a vision, but majority lack an intrinsic market making capability, a method to spend the coins but not selling them on exchanges, like a natural burn method which can drive a demand for buying and that can grow the price organically. Not being able to spend your tokens anywhere leads to an exchange stagnation.
2790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to recieve GIST tokens? on: December 23, 2021, 04:48:47 AM
I think, I've heard everything I need to hear. This was my first topic. Do I need to lock it now or let it be open?
Your account is back from 2017, you should be knowing how to lock your topic, but for refreshing your memory, it is a button in the lower left corner.

It would also be a nice addition to add a [solved] tag to the front of the title of the thread.

And always remember, that scammers know how to take the advantage of a victim's desperation. When you are in a hurry to claim your tokens because you worked hard for it scammers will attempt to intervene at that point. In the bitcoin world, never reveal your private key/seedphrase to anyone unless you wish them to take full access to your wallet.
2791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never sell for a loss - is a Myth !! on: December 22, 2021, 10:57:07 AM
But sometimes we takes wrong decisions and put a trade in wrong area. It means take a trade when there is no opportunity available for making profit. Then book some loss is a good decision my brother. Don't hesitate if you feel your trade goes wrong from your decision.
You would never make a wrong decision of buying if you would stay in bitcoin only and not a single altcoin. But most users will buy some altcoins too so the risk does increase for ending up with an asset that is worthless.

If you have done your background research and believe that the coin you own has no future, then do think about selling it at loss - just be strict about taking this decision, because in case the opposite happens you should not feel bad that you wasted it by selling it at a loss. Most altcoins that have been stagnant for several years now are worthless and safe to cast away.

Losses are there in spot trading but if you are buying safe and at the lower price, you have higher chances of profit and that is the point being made in the OP, dont sell at loss for such bought coins, specially not bitcoin.
2792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When bear market? on: December 22, 2021, 10:52:40 AM
I've made huge amount of money in crypto space since 2020 and now I'm more interested in bear market,
Congratulations then, most people cannot make money during a single year but take years to continue buy and sell cycles in order to profit a "huge amount".

Quote
with the way things are going now it looks like accumulation rate will keep getting rid of bears for a long time, I'm just curious is bear market really coming? If yes what do you think will cause the next bear market?
Usually the year ending sees two things happening, with the selling due to spending of bitcoin and then the buying that happens after the selling. There is no guarantee that both will happen and that you might get any chance to buy at a lower price.

We can only predict a movement but cannot specify when it can happen - it is the nature of the speculative market.

Quote
Sorry if I sound annoying 😅 I just want me some top altcoins at cheaper rate for next halving season
The next bitcoin halving is in 2024, you will get a lot more number of bear-bull cycles before that for the next two years. Just keep tabs on the market every 6-8 hours everyday.

Dont forget that this is a game of patience, not speed.
2793  Economy / Economics / Re: Advice for the season. on: December 22, 2021, 10:45:45 AM
Don't bend to societal pressure of over spending during this festive season, make serious plans for the celebrations and the coming year, Don't fall into the trap or bend to the pressure of selling off a percentage of your cryptos to  spend this festive season, a new year is coming. January is usually a long month that carries along a lot of expenses, make plans and preparations now for tomorrow, spend wisely today.
I dont even think that the chance of spending crypto for buying stuff exists in most countries but only a selective few where it has been made easily exchangeable. Even then many people will have been saving up for the holidays and they will spend a lot of buying gifts for their loved ones and booking tickets back to home countries, there is no problem in that, every one needs a break for crypto and spending time with family.

The current market price is not indicative of that, there was a rise in price last evening to 49k and then drop back to 48k and today it is at 49k again. This is indicative of a bullish trend or a buying pressure which is opposite of what is generally expected. It can also mean that people might be spending but there are buyers for bitcoin.
2794  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: December 21, 2021, 09:46:05 AM
As a beginner in trading, such profits of 1-5$ gives us joy and hope to take the next step, also motivate us as beginners to have zeal and dedication towards trading. But losses in crypto trading always weaken the zeal and the activeness of the beginners, so profit taken is always good.
It is good hear but do note that you should not let small profits from a trades act like small doses of dopamine which make you addicted to it. Rather use it as a source of motivation for bigger profits.

Bad days will happen and in trading these are opportunities to introspect into possible mistakes and chances to rethink your strategy. While losses do have a mental trauma, you can stick to the positive side and learn from them.

For beginners paper trading should be the first thing to start with. You should not jump into the real market right away. Do it on paper, check how much profit you made of how effective your prediction was.
2795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utilities in crypto space are based on time on: December 21, 2021, 07:30:53 AM
What's going to happen after metaverse hype is over? We used to talk about DeFI projects but the hype is no more and some are already saying web3.0 is the next big thing again, for how long we will keep seeing all this because hype is the only real thing in crypto that I know, every other thing that's been hyped about fade away in time
Meta is another hype just like there has been hypes on defi and NFT and before that was the ICO and it's secondaries.

I cannot predict how long the hype will go on but depending on the fact that many tech companies are using names like Meta, I suspect this one to go about longer.

So if you can get into the hype early you can sell early whennthe hype is around it's maximum and get a good profit. But there is a risk associated with this too, the chance that you miss the top or end up holding something that is useless.

Whether web3.0 becomes big, end of the day it is not a magic bullet to existing problems.
2796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should i buy? on: December 21, 2021, 06:56:14 AM
Buy big coins on top exchanges like solana polkadot avalanche andany others because I believe they recover easier than other altcoins under top 100 lists on coinmarketcap just make sure you very dips and wait for recovery then take profits
Top coins from top exchanges but without top research from the trader's side? That would end up in the wrong soup. I am sure you have definite reasons to buy these coins but there needs to be a background research done on both the teams behind these coins and the price charts.

Doing so does not guarantee a profit but it gives the advantage to be able to make an informed decision which may not have been possible if you are just looking at the list of top coins.

Either way, bitcoin and the top five usually make good returns but be careful because a metric does not mean a profit. It is only a temporary list and the list is dynamic over months and years.
2797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the Similarities and Differences between Bitcoin and 'Bitcoin Trust'? on: December 20, 2021, 05:37:50 AM
I think I am starting to understand it but what are the advantages of buying Bitcoin Trusts to the investors over buying Bitcoin directly themselves? Is there some sort of security for them?
It can an advantage for the following users:

1. Who dont want to get into the trouble of owning a wallet themselves - Owning a wallet means you need to secure it as well. People can go paranoid over the number of security measures to take to secure and keep it private. Although madness is not a good thing, some basic measures are needed. If you are less of a tech-savvy user, this might be a good alternative.

2. Having to observe the market for movements and then predict the buy/sell prices - essentially you are giving that headache to the owner of the Trust.

Quote
For me I think it is just better to buy BTC on exchanges and do whatever I want with it rather than buying from Companies.
The topic you quoted comes from a group which manages such trust and act as financial advisors. I would suggest you to stop reading them and rather learn how to use and keep bitcoin safe yourself. ETF and Trusts are always there and will be popular in future but that does not do what bitcoin was meant to do.

Even for stocks, you do your research and buy what you know will go up, same with bitcoin and altcoins. Why pay someone else to do it for you?
2798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is namecoin dead? on: December 20, 2021, 05:28:33 AM
Unfortunately, despite the coin can still be found in a couple of exchanges, it seems that the project is dormant or dead. Anyone has any updates or know anything about namecoin?
You are correct about the current state of Namecoin, it is essentially dead.

Although a coin never really dies out but the activity on exchanges and social media is enough to determine how much active it otherwise might me. With a dead forum and a chart with its All-Time-High 8years ago and daily trading volume of 10k USD, I would say it is dead for the time being.

Unless some "nole ksum" comes in with another space project and starts shilling this coin, I dont see any future of it. Their recent wallet software was launched, so I assume developers are still active(?) - so there is a chance of inorganic shilling by some millionaire in future.

But how exactly does this move with the metaverse concept? I tell you I am old school hodler, not interested in the current hypes.
2799  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy more so you can sell some on: December 20, 2021, 05:17:48 AM
Surely future development of crypto ecosystem depends on how governments gonna treat the advantages of blockchain technology.
I would like that some governments have been very lenient with blockchain tech development and using such technology to retire older banking tech and is currently in the process or already implemented into existing banking systems.

But when it comes to bitcoin and its acceptance, the same governments change to an opposite stance.

This is because bitcoin runs on blockchain not the other way round. Using blockchain tech has its uses while using bitcoin brings a number of problems for the governments.

The OP says, increased cost of livelihood - I have not seen much effect on that where I live, but maybe true for some countries. The governments will increase taxation to compensate the excessive costs due to the pandemic so be ready for that. Beyond that I still dont see any effective use of bitcoin to solve the problem.
2800  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to buy alts at the right time? on: December 20, 2021, 05:11:20 AM
You'll be buying at a discount so why not, especially if you think that the coin is good and the damp will only be temporary? It makes sense, right? In the end, only those that take a risk and are patient can reap the rewards of volatility and have it play at their advantage.
It depends on how much the buyer believes in the coin to take off. If it is bitcoin, you can go all in without thinking twice, but altcoins? I would do my own research to know how much they have developed and how far they have kept promises before buying anything.

You can always depend on the bagholders to end up giving you a 10% gain if you buy on dumping and sell when the price is going up after that dump, but considering the buy price to be around 10-20$ range, the profit is not that lucrative.

It ends up being a personal choice though, I prefer to keep my portfolio less diverse inside the "crypto" heading, major in bitcoin and then ethereum.
