Simple:
If new coin is out, solo mine
If diff is above 0.5 switch to pool
or, just be a lucky guy and hope for the best....
better tip, here my experiment for solo 500kh/s for every 100k difficulty on CGMINER labeled as a "diff" |

Having spent a lot of time solo mining & pool mining, based on the math, pool mining is better by about 10%. I think it has to do with the frequency that the pool hits the lotto blocks. Solo mining, I found 4 blocks in a row, so just over a minute or so I think. Made like 150k total from the random amounts. Around that same time, a pool found a single lotto block for 262k. It's just the luck of the draw, but it still worked out for the pool. If you take a look at all the blocks you've mined for a pool (coins generated) and you look at your payouts. If your payouts are higher than your coins generated (due to other miners in your pool finding lotto blocks), then you were better off in the pool, than solo.  you forgot fee, also you won't get 260k, but a small amount of that block, i've mined in a pool and i got only 3k in one hour, compared to solo, it is very low always better to mine in solo for me, when difficulty is very low |

Im trying to give this a go now but ive never done solo before. I think ive set it up right - wallet launched with -server=1, connected cgminer to localhost:xxxx (port in config). CGMiner is just scrolling through with 'new block detected' and 'difficulty set to 0' (sometimes 1) so i assume its working correctly? Should i be seeing 'accepted' messages also like when in a pool or not - because so far ive not had any of those! Thanks! look at your best share, and compare it with the "diff" not DIFF:0 or 1, if your best share will rise above the "diff" number, you will get a block Ok well my best share says its 21.7k so ill assume its working for now. Ill leave it a few hours and see if it pulls any big fish in. 1200hash so hopefully will get something soon  thanks for your help. add this, so you cgminer don't waste time on block already resolved --scan-time 15 --expiry 30 |

can you release a zip version? If you dont want to install the app and simply run the wallet in your desktop, you can roughly open the setup file with your favourite archiver and extract it by yourself. winrar can't do it |

You need to check those numbers, they're wrong. no they are right, i've tried for one week already i'm speaking about cgminer difficulty, the one showed in the centre called "diff", not "DIFF" my 7950 can found a block even at 100k difficulty, more than once per day

So you want so say that you find on average 1 block per day @100k difficulty with only one 7950?? LTC difficulty is at the moment 3k. So you want so say that you would find on average 33!!! blocks LTC per day with only one 7950?? So on average every hour one LTC block?? Sorry boy, but thats big nonsense. no man i'm referring to the difficulty showed on CGMINER, not on coinchoose i'm starting to think, that only few people here know how solo mine work lol |
