283  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: May 26, 2013, 08:05:49 AM
I posted this on another statistical analysis forum but hope more will see it here.

Been watching this thread for a couple weeks or so now, just joined so I had the ability to post. I have around 400 usd invested in Satoshi Dice, but I think the site needs to expand or it will eventually die out. The problem with betting bitcoins is many who mine them use them as investments or flat out sell them to those who use them as investments. Imo bitcoin has become too expensive of a commodity and SatoshiDice needs to branch out with other coins like LTC or FTC for example. With the lack of places to use these coins, those who mine them have a lot less worth for them and have less of a problem gambling them away. The key to a site like Satoshidice is the law of averages which basically states the more bets taken results in a percentage closer to the 1.9% profit. This is just my two cents, but I strongly believe if satoshidice either mined a base amount of altcoins or bought them, then allowed people to play with them, the coin prices would not only go up (instant advantage for satoshidice), but monthly we would see more profit. This is just my opinion, but feel free to respond to it. Regardless im a satoshi dice believer.

horrible idea

that discussion does make sense. Blades are very inefficient use of funds and it would be wise to be patient. it's a very fine balancing act at this moment. so i'll probs vote avalon order buy then

I know this is ironic, but is it possible to put a portion of the funds in asicsminer-pt shares until a wise opportunity presents itself? i know this is overcomplicating matters and is risky. just thought i'd throw my thoughts out there, even if they are probably foolish.

thanks for making these matter democratic anyway!

An opinion is so hard to digest when it's only behind 17 posts.  How do we know you're not the owner of basicmining trying to show his own support?
I hate posts like these.. they're so fishy..

Wouldn't a 51% attacker be worried about scaring everybody off with double spends and crashing the price down to $1 before he even has a chance to convert his theft into fiat?

Here's the first update, POOPcoin lovers...

unfortunately we have experienced our first double spend.  marcetin somehow has 2,000,000 POOPcoins, twice as much as I intended to give him.  Not sure how he did it, but I am working hard on trying to fix this so it doesn't happen again.

Tell all your friends about POOPcoin, the best alternative cryptocurrency!

ooooh where do we get this wallet. Wink

Your bitcointalk.org username is your wallet name. as well as your sending/receiving address!  This is what makes POOP coin so much better than bitcoin -- you don't need to remember a long string of characters and numbers!  Take that, Satoshi!
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Introducing the POOP Coin on: May 25, 2013, 05:41:20 PM
Unlike other coins, there is no mining necessary.  Unfortunately due to lack of budget with this system, nothing is automated.  I manually transfer coins between people.  Yes, thats right.. POOPcoins are transferred solely through this thread.  All you have to say is "Transfer [amount] POOP coins to [user]"  and every day I will update peoples account balance in the thread.

Let's start with a giveaway!

Total amount of POOPcoins is currently 22,000,000.

Just ask me how many you want and I will give you some POOPcoins for your new wallet!

While the info about your wife (if true) is sad, you are not doing the right thing here. The reason the gov does not give out free money to people with large bank accounts is because those people can pay for expenses themselves. You should pay what you can, as unfair as it may seem to you, and then if what you have left is not enough you can then apply for gov handouts.

If you want to be greedy and take/keep every penny you earn then get a saftey deposit box and keep your cash in it.

This is simple people. Bitcoin is not needed to hide wealth. This has been happening since before there were computers. You don't need a big mattress to hide your money. Bitcoin is not the answer to your "problem". Your problem is that you won't pay what society has said you should pay for your wifes care from your own pocket first. You want to take my/our money first.

Im not trying to start a debate about the law that says you being broke because of medical expenses is fair.

I personally think this is often totaly unfair. I am a "socialist" who thinks that medical care is a basic right. I am willing to pay my share for your wifes care. But we "socialists" are becoming a small minority in a greed driven world. I am willing to bet you are like 80%+ of other humans today and you would be calling foul on your situation if you were not in it. You complain about high taxes, but the fact is if you want your free money, someone else is paying 2x what they should be to fund your lifestyle. We buy your bitcoins. People like you who hide money from being taxed fairly are the reason why taxes are so damned high.

Stop polluting our forum with this pseudo-illegal bs. You don't need bitcoins to illegally hide wealth.

Blah blah blah blah.  Everybody has a choice of whether or not to live their lives completely legit.  I highly doubt he's going to change his ways because of your rambling.
