281  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 19, 2018, 11:01:27 AM
Well, bitcoin prices are highly dependent on speculation and news that comes on cryptocurrency, like some countries are banning bitcoin, facebook banning cryptocurrency and the latest informatios is google will ban cryptocurrency. Such information will make the investor or bitcoin user sell the bitcoin he has, so the bitcoin price will decrease. So, looks like you should read news other than this forum, I suggest you to read on https://www.ccn.com it will help you.

Definitely not! CCN is amongst those who are considered the worst of the worst when it comes to being a reliable news source. They are one of the main sources spreading fud and other rubbish being a massive contributor to fear in the market. The far majority of their articles either have a heavy bias towards a certain crypto currency or service, or it's just blatantly sponsored. If you want to try to get as close as possible to the truth (which some times is even inpossible), try researching every article subject thoroughly by jumping into every possible source of information. NEVER just rely on one party, because they more often than not only show you what they want you to see, especially when it comes to CCN.
Yep, and reading only one source results into fear and panic selling. So it is better to read several sources for information so that your doubts will be cleared to a specific cryptocurrency. I guess you're not really into cryptos if you still haven't been swayed by all the FUDs spreading about each coin. Just don't believe everything you read without any conclusive evidence.
282  Economy / Economics / Re: until when will the bounty program remain? on: March 19, 2018, 10:39:12 AM
Over the years there have been a lot of crypto-based-based projects where the business owners offer shares in the form of coins they produce with different kinds of promotions including bounty programs, until when will the gift program remain?

I believe these bounty programs will last as long as we have internet to access it. As we can see, these projects is a form of advertisement, with our cooperation we advertise their product or project. Hence, they can also gain money.
That's where you're wrong. Moderators are thinking about removing signature campaigns all at once if the merit system will not work the way it should be. Although there are a lot of spammers that have been banned due to the new system, there are still tons of them in the community that are spamming useless threads/posts that don't contribute to the forum for the sake of advertisement.
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you do when you see bitcoin crashing like this and you're losing money? on: March 18, 2018, 04:19:00 PM
I just wonder how those HODL people that are now losing so much money day after day after day, manage their positions? Are you guys just sitting there, watching your accounts evaporate, hoping for better days? Are you cutting losses? When is it enough?
Obviously, they still HODL! When bitcoin crashes, it takes the market along with it. The same thing happens in regular stocks. When USD crashes, the market doesn't switch to British pounds to stay stable, the market crashes too and eventually recovers. This is what most of us believes in. If you cut loose to your evaporating accounts as you say, then you will end up in even more losses in the end.
284  Other / Meta / Re: Feeling sad on: March 18, 2018, 03:08:32 PM
I just rank up today at 70 activity but still I'm a Junior member because my merits are not enough, so I feel so sad..because honestly I'm having hard time earning it. I don't have much knowledge in bitcoin though I research but not all sink in my mind so its really hard for me to earn merit.. Is there any other way to earn merit except for quality posts? Please excuse my grammar.
You're not the only one. There are tons of user like you feeling that they will be stuck at their current rank because of the merit system but what they don't realize how the system will benefit them in the long run.

My advice for starters, avoid staying at "Bitcoin Discussion". I'm not saying all threads there are all useless but most of it is since it is mostly made out of newbies who have no initiative to do his/her own research first. Then put a lot of effort on researching about interesting topics that you can share or answer some topics in the threads that will be really helpful not only to the OP but for other members as well.
285  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: March 18, 2018, 02:11:13 PM
99.9% of spammers,
That statistics tho.  Huh
Well, it's good that they will never rank up with the merit system and if all campaign managers out there will also be strict in the merit requirement for participants in the signature campaign and not just accept all shitposters, this may well result in another chaos in the Meta but the good side of this is that they will be forced to up their posting quality a notch.
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Keep calm, and take a coffee. A trader said... on: March 17, 2018, 03:54:19 PM

I have always believed that in order to be a successful trader you need to have great talent and good brains. So I always listen to their opinion, and one of the most important tips is to buy at lower prices in the market. That's what I did.

You mean to say that great talent and good brains come from listening to others opinion? Really? LOL Shocked It will just result in more ignorance about cryptocurrencies, you're just depending on others information and you'll base most of your crypto strat to these ones. I'll be damned if you don't blame and spread FUDs after some time.

287  Economy / Speculation / Re: New fall of bitcoin on: March 17, 2018, 02:25:26 PM
Some people predicted about this deep today 2 weeks ago  ( have a look on youtube : Financial Freedom ). Can we expect from now any improvement in the next couple of days and maybe a bull market?
It's hard to expect but let's just be hopeful and be positive that an improvement in the price will happen in the near future. We all know for a fact that bitcoin is probably the most volatile coin out there ever since so we should just be ready for whatever happens and hope for the best after all the corrections being made.
288  Other / Meta / Re: Merits for Constructive Opinion on: March 17, 2018, 01:15:31 PM
Merit is given to a user who post constructive opinions that are very useful. Unfortunately, not all who posts well are merited. Maybe all we can do is to just continue making constructive posts, and lets do it for the purpose of sharing our knowledge and ideas so we can help everyone in the forum especially the beginners.
its just a joke to give merits to those constructive posts? who can give and who have time to give? there are so many users on this forum and any action that shall be handle by people will be a big problem, especially the merit amount is limited
Mate, the structure of your sentence is so confusing.  Undecided I don't know if you're saying that giving merits is a joke or not.

Yes, the sMerit is limited but if I remember it correctly, I read somewhere that there might be a somewhat merit reset, where you will be given again the default sMerit base on your rank.

There are a lot of users that are sending merits to appropriates ones but its just that, shitposters and forum members that are spamming and don't have enough smerits anymore because they had given it to their alts, more or less, outweighs those users who have enough sMerits to give to helpful posts.
289  Other / Meta / Re: RANK & MERIT-BASED Signature Campaigns (an attempt) on: March 17, 2018, 06:00:51 AM
The main problem here is, that if a member has a certain level and is 'stuck' there due to the Activity-rule, there is almost no reason for this member to create valuable posts as he can't get more stakes.
Then that member is here for all the wrong reasons and should be encouraged to find somewhere else to spam.  This problem, the one of members joining bitcointalk to support huge families of dirty, ungrateful offspring that they can't seem to stop having, is endemic.  I think campaign managers ought to be a hell of a lot more selective than they have been.  I thought SMAS was going to clean up a lot of the bullshit, but you still see shitposters even in campaigns run by very respectable managers, like Yahoo62278, Lutpin, and some others.  I know they've got to get participants, but standards have really deteriorated since the inception of SMAS.  And then you have shitty managers in the altcoin bounties who will accept any garbloon who can make character quotas.  Posts don't even have to be coherent, don't have to make any sense--they just need to be abundant.

Don't know how the merit system is going to influence this, but I've seen rates being adjusted based on merit points earned.  That's a step in the right direction.
Well, we know that Yahoo62278 is implementing a new rule in his every signature campaign wherein he has 2 different payouts depending on the merit that each member acquired. So, at some point, members who didn't earn merit ever since it was implemented has a lower payout than those members who earned a base merit that Yahoo stated. So at some point, members who are still in default number of merits will be inspired to give more efforts and thought about their posts. If only campaign managers in the altcoin discussion will implement this too, I'm sure we will see less of the shitposters here in the forum.
290  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Central Bank really have impact on bitcoin? on: March 17, 2018, 05:19:36 AM
are the price movements related to those speeches of the central banks such as the BOE?

Due to that news and FUDs that are coming from banks in different countries stating that they will ban or regulate the use of bitcoin, it creates panic on people so in result, most of them are selling their fair share of bitcoin while they can see some profits before its too late for them to sell out and wait months before the price recovery. So banks affect the price of bitcoin one or the other.
291  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May legal implications bang dapat alalahanin pag nagcacashout galing sa bitcoin? on: March 16, 2018, 04:08:55 PM
Sa US panay ang nakikita ko kasi na pinaguusapan ang capital gains tax. Dito sa pinas, meron bang kailangan alalahanin?

Tax related?

AMLA related?

Anything at all regarding laws and regulations?
292  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Merit Phase 2 - Drain the Swamp (@theymos) on: March 16, 2018, 03:18:21 PM
I agree with you. Accounts which won't get any merit (or specific number of merits depends on each rank because higher ranks should have more knowledge, more skills, more experience, so they will probably have more chances to earn merits) over a specific period (might be one, two or three months) should be disabled ability to wear signature.

Prerequisites related to merit points to join campaigns, bounties depends on those campaigns managers, not forum admin. So this suggestion is not appropriate.

Thanks for all of your recommendations, TheQuin.
I've seen a lot of high ranking members that are still shitposters and seeing their posts seems like they didn't really know anything useful to contribute to the forum. It's a shame for them so this idea would be good for all of us here. We had enough of low ranking members who are constantly creating similar threads over and over again asking questions that can be easily answered if they put even a little effort on researching about it.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: Know your limits! on: March 13, 2018, 04:41:34 AM
It really comes down to your emotional capability, whether you read a lot of threads and gain knowledge about cryptocurrencies as much as you can, it will all be a waste if you can handle all the FUDs and bad happenings to the coin you invested in. It just seems like you really did not learn anything from all the research you made because I know for a fact that you came across an article or something that tackles about how the market works and that you should trust your investment and hold as much as possible.
294  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Gain bitcoin, but don't lose life on: March 12, 2018, 02:03:57 PM
Nasa pag prioritize lang naten yan at time management.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach 20,000 again on: March 12, 2018, 01:27:54 PM
Simply because the WHALES take the profits whenever there's a 5 to 10 percent growth.  The bottom line is Swing trading and Day trading is real and the HODL method is just what it is...

How do you think the price of bitcoin reached the $20,000 last year then?  It's not only the whales who can manipulate the bitcoin's price, there are lots of factors to consider. Besides, it is expected that the market will be like this in the first quarter of the month. You can check at the coinmarketcap.com that almost all coins are red at this time of the year.
296  Other / Meta / Re: Forum account needs to be KYC on: March 12, 2018, 03:25:18 AM
This isn't going to happen for numerous reasons and if you did a search you would see people have already suggested this. It would be far easier just to remove signatures and problem solved and that's likely what will happen if the merit system doesn't curb this sort of behaviour.
I wish that those shitposters and spammers would be aware of the consequences if they still continue their way of posting considering that the merit system should oblige them to improve the quality of their posts. Perhaps those spammers have really no clue about the goal of the merit system because they are just only visiting common boards like Bitcoin Discussion and Economics and spamming there.
297  Economy / Economics / Re: Yes or No? Doesn't Bitcoin unfairly benefit early adopters? on: March 12, 2018, 03:18:09 AM
Yes true, even i never heard of the inventor of bitcoin ie mr. nakamoto becomes a millionaire, he should be the richest first person because of bitcoin, of course this is not fair.
You don't need to hear or read that Satoshi became a millionaire, you just have to think of it logically. It's common sense that we should assume that he is already a millionaire considering the fact that he invented Bitcoin. Besides, we don't really know the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Also, it's fair for early adopters what bitcoin gave them because they took the risk of investing in it at an early stage.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: buy high and sell low. or hold which one is it? on: March 11, 2018, 06:56:04 PM
after this major price correction. i want to see what are your ideas on this. lets say you bought bitcoin 2 years ago. you notice prices were high at 19,000$ should u sell or continue to hold? what are your thoughts after this huge correction?

it is probably too late to sell after holding since the 19000$ correction.
That depends on the person, for example, if I bought Bitcoin 2 years ago and held it until it reaches the $19,000 which happened recently, then I would probably sold it that time because the profit that I see from there is enough for me whilst other people would probably hold more their bitcoin wishing for more profits. That's called greediness and the fact that it didn't go beyond $20,000 must mean that those who did not sell that time is literally holding their bitcoin again this time waiting for another ATH.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After 3 months, what do you have? on: March 11, 2018, 11:05:47 AM
Since I joined the crypto market. My gain is zero. I only have experiences and lessons. Does that have been called successful? Huh  Undecided
You could answer that question by yourself. What have you been doing all this time and you are saying that you've gained nothing so far? I guess you still don't understand the crypto world and you're not really learning from all those experiences you had. Have you ever done a single research since you jumped into cryptos? I guess you keep investing in bad ICOs because you don't have enough understanding about it.
300  Other / Meta / Re: Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 11, 2018, 10:43:55 AM
Well, the purpose of the merit system is to make shitposters like that to put in a lot of effort and thought on their posts for them to rank up. Unless they are okay with their current rank and doesn't care much on whether they get merited or not, I guess there is nothing much we can do about it.

What I am trying to implement into campaigns I manage is users must have merits to join. I currently am allowing users without merits to join(partially), but have started paying higher rates to users with merits. Eventually I will make it a requirement to have merits in order to join campaigns I manage. I would also like to go as far as you must earn merits each week to stay in a campaign.

If all managers do something like I mentioned above, then eventually these shit accounts are phased out and not making any money anymore rendering their accounts useless. With the merit system being fairly new, I can't go full fledged merit crazy on everyone yet. Gotta give ppl a little time to earn some.

What you've implemented in your campaign is great and the idea that every participant in your campaign must earn a merit every week is also good. That way, if there will be users who will cheat their way to earn merit and trade with their alts, we could ban those shits for their wrongdoing. We could ban a lot of users if that happens tho.
