Absolutely many alternative coins have future we can say Ethereum Waves Litecoin Dogecoin and some more , every alternative coins has their own future depending on the market atmosphere.

I am using Electrum wallet and Blockchain for my saving , if I want to buy or sell it to my local fiat money I use my country local bitcoin exchanger wallet.

Bitcoin is decentralized and no one control that mean nobody can destroy bitcoin , only when the government forbids it, it is only the government that can destroy bitcoin .

By relying on the capital that I get from bounty campaign generally I use Bitcoin for trading and the profit enough for my monthly expenses .

I doubt for the future of Dogecoin , though Dogecoin remaining stagnant until now , this coin is only suitable for savings only, who knows one day will rise.

You don't need to pay taxes when you sell an altcoin for bitcoin , you only need to pay the trading fees , for the services of exchanges , you maybe need to pay taxes if you change to fiat money it is depends on your country laws.

Yes my opinion these two Altcoin Ethereum and Litecoin it is good for Mid term and Long term investment , like you can see both the price going up slow but sure.
