I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

altcoins have a future   but it depends  on its popularity and value.altcoins have same purpose in  digital currency, but we can choose  few of them  which is better and user friendly of trading ,without worries we face in times of transaction trade.alternating coins is have a big  contribution in digital worlds co'z its have a big rule in the  new era.

Every altcoin has a future as long as it has a community big enough which believes in it and takes care of it. When this disappears, so does that altcoin.

yeah agree, every altcoin has a good future as long as it has a solid team of developers, a large and growing community, and has partnerships with various parties, especially with big exchangers

Yes I think the blockchain technology is here to stay. The alt coins definitely have a future, it is just a matter of realizing which one will take over the market to get the most gains. Personally I like Stratis because it connects the existing .NET framework and a great developer team behind it. Another one of my favorite is Storj. Etherum definitely will be worth 5-10x more in few years since lots of new tokens are utilizing its platform. Doing more research on IOTA, it looks like a great project.

All alts whom can work properly in real world will be live. As Buterin said, "If you will remove blockchain & tokens from your project will it work anyway?" In case of alts this works equal. All of this type alts will be dead sooner or later.

They have sort of a future. You gain massive amount money, if you invest in the right time and sell it on the right time. Many people are investing in it. So do i, but you can also lose money, but you need to take risks.

I believe some of the altcoins have a future but not all altcoins. I think some can survive depending on the skills of the team or management handling that coins. Securities for all investors are very important to stick with their investment. So for me, for all altcoins to be able to survive it is important to secure that it is growing and very stable.

The future or success of a certain alternative coins is highly dependent with the investors, holders and users. When a certain project is raised and fund with blockchain or ICO the target value will depend on how many will buy the token or coin for that alt coin. Some factors may affect is how promising the project is, and how many incentives might the users will have.

Regards to Arna Genomics, It has a promising project that will help the development of biotechnology.

why can you like dogecoin and think dogecoin will have a future?
Dogecoin is an old coin that will die slowly, its price worsens and there is no progress.

Yeah, you have some points. Without eth and ltc there are few coin you can depend on like neo, xrp, dash etc. But as you say bitcoin is more trusted coin in crypto currency.

Many altcoins have no future. Only some of them have no prospects to live a long time. But who knows the future? All believe in a long life of bitcoin. While no one can be sure of this. Altcoins can be compared with flowers. Every spring they bloom. Encouraging us to fall and then to die in spring to bloom again.
Most of the coins that have been created have disappeared, that is why it is important to look for coins with original ideas, if a coin is noting but a copy of another but with a few addons then it is very likely that coins is not going to go very far, just look at bitcoin cash.

It is not disappeared dude. Most of ivo tokens are been introduced to here and some of the ICO owner cheat us after the succession of the pre sale or post token sale to the distribution.
Alts like BCH and ETH are having potential to compete in altcoin list.
If you go with the bad alts means please do research about the white paper details before investing to it.
I stand by what I said, are there many coins that have a future and are good coins? Yes, but for every coin that has a future there are 5 that are not worth a thing, if we were to look at all the coins that exist today and see if those coins still exists in five years I think we will see that more than half of those coins will be dead at that point.

I think it depend on the decision of the public. If people will support altcoins then it will have a good future but if people will not support bitcoin and they will not have any demand for a particular coin then that particular coin will lose its value in the market.

As a lot of people have said I think it totally depends on the quality of the coin and what it offers. The team behind it need to be forward thinking, innovative and keeping a pressence in the community. The main thing other than that is having a large number of people trading with it... obviously.
Things like governments and crypto in general however can massively stir things up and hinder certain plans. As well as massive corporations possible getting involved in crypto; releasing their own coin or baking one inparticular.

It really could go so many ways....

For the next couple of years at least though, I think alt coins will be fine,

there is no doubt that bitcoin is the king of crypto. but there are many altcoin out there which future are too good. like you said ETH and LTC. If you find more good altcoin which have a good future then i can suggest NEO, XRP, DASH etc. Happy trading Wink
