281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10 ETH or 1 BTC? on: October 14, 2017, 08:59:22 AM
I can't even begin to comprehend how some people on here devalue Ethereum's protocol even when 40-60% of all alternative tokens are ERC20 or start as ERC20. If anything Satoshi wouldve wanted something like Ethereum to exist in the cryptoworld. BTC and ETH are both symbiotic to one another. Both are great investments and honestly the best route is to diversify your savings 50/50.
282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying and Holding BTC/LTC/ETH on: October 14, 2017, 08:47:07 AM
Hello, I wanted to ask if I should just buy BTC/LTC/ETH right away when I get the money, or should I wait a couple of weeks to see if their prices go down?

Consider this. There are two events happening that may earn you an equal amount of bitcoin in a different version cryptocurrency. The events are called hard forks. Hard forks result in airdrops of a new currency. They have to do this if they want the new (and "improved" so they intend) version of Bitcoin to exist and thrive.

If you buy more Bitcoin now you will receive more airdropped coins of the two fork currencies coming up on Oct. 25th and mid-November.

Just something to consider.

Great point, keep in mind that most of these hard forks are likely to surge the prices up as well. So the sooner you hear the news the better, but as everyone had already said - if you are going to be holding for long term then a few hundred isn't much of a big deal. I applaud you on your journey, ETH is a great investment at the moment, it was released very recently and it already has spawned thousands of tokens under their protocol.
283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have hardware wallet now. Do i need to stop using offline wallet? on: October 14, 2017, 08:40:24 AM
I don't see the necessity of using an offline wallet. Your nano ledger is going to be the top of the line compared to anything else. I'd say keep your funds there. Also keep in mind that you do have multiple wallets you can put to use in your ledger device, for instance if you connect your wallet up to myetherwallet you can choose from a multitude of wallets within your nano ledger to choose from. If you are going to be trading I think it's a good idea to diversify your funds in separate wallets for maximum security. Whatever you do though do not lose your passphrase.
284  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin be regulated! on: October 14, 2017, 08:15:26 AM
i brought this up on another topic. I think that it will be a very hard task to be able to regulate bitcoin, although transactions can be traced - wallets can easily be conjured and discarded at will creating a lengthy trail, but it IS possible to regulate. Cryptocurrencies are slowly gaining traction in their introduction to the vast majority and in a matter of time it will be inevitable not to notice. BTC is already in the SEC's radar. I think that instead of BTC being banned in most countries we may see the opposite - it will be introduced as a new frontier like that of the internet. We may even see government identification and social security becoming a mandatory protocol in block chain technologies adapted by large fiat banks. Every node identified.
285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chart analysis on: October 14, 2017, 08:05:59 AM
Hello to everybody,

I have question about chart analysis. Are there any differences betwen chart analysis in traditional stock exchange and crypto exchange?  Considering that the crypto exchange is much more emotional in decision making? Can we use exactly the same analysis techniques or do we have to adjust them to our crypto reality? If yes, please give me some tips what I have to change that the analysis would be more accurate.

Technical analysis is a great thing, but I would recommend it in two conditions.
The first one is you already have experience in trading,do not expect to be any easier for bitcoin charts + always parallely follow the news and updates.
The second is do not use it for altcoins. The market is way to volatile and often artificially pumped by the coin holder,
likely various youtubers etc.,and when they sell it the price dumps, making any technical analysis useless.
There are some hilarious examples, just look at the ChainCoin chart, beware of things like that.

Yeah, this is very true. Alt coins are incredibly more volatile, I remember the massive dump that happened with ETH when the fake rumors of vitalik's death were everywhere. BTC has solidarity because the founder(s?) are anonymous and they are irrelevant since the protocol established it's own legitimacy. Eventually though we might see more psychological analysis in play for these markets once the playing fields are leveled but that may be a while.
286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Easiest way to shift from BTC to USD on: October 14, 2017, 07:54:13 AM
Coinbase is the easiest way to go about withdrawing USD from BTC, just be aware that all information there is regulated.
Some people prefer the ancient method of localbitcoins because it's peer to peer and completely anonymous.
It all depends on how you conduct your business really.

No, staking (=distribution trading commissions to BCO holders) is in development. It's the same thing, there is no "classic" POS-style staking in BCO.

I feel like I was misunderstood, I said "profit" staking, Not necessarily "proof of stake" but from what I know you need to set BCO aside to claim that 50% is that right?
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoW][Scrypt] BitcoinLite - Bitcoin Alternative on: October 13, 2017, 11:09:01 PM
Already at block 6900+.... why?

all credibility of this project has just been lost.

Do we need to keep the wallet open?

Are trading commissions already being paid to BCO holders?

If so, the only thing we need to do is to have BCO in the wallet correct?

https://crypto-bridge.org/#faq

Profit staking is still in development - it's still in beta stage.

I love this project and love their exchange, but worried about the marketing. There is already a strong competitor out of Singapore, COSS. While their exchange is not ready for prime time yet like Cryptobridge is. They are doing weekly payouts in multiple coins which will get them lots of attention while Cryptobridge pays out slower and Coss will have months of payouts before the first Cryptobridge payout. Coss is also adding new hot coins ignored by the big exchanges. I don't want Cryptobridge to lose the first mover advantage to a Johnny come lately. But so far the developers haven't disappointed, so I hope they will consider the importance of getting payouts started for the marketing effects. This remains one of my favorite projects.

..but the reason COSS was able to pump out such an extraordinary exchange so quickly was because of their ICO. Cryptobridge was built by an anonymous and international group developers with no ICO or premine. The project is incredibly sincere. COSS may be leading the forefront at the moment but it wont take long for BCO to catch up and even surpass them in my opinion.

This project is amazing - I wish I knew of it earlier. This may end up being huge, The DEX UI is incredible. Great job devs.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big idea for a new cryptocurrency start up - and i'm just going to tell you. on: October 12, 2017, 03:41:52 AM
you know what happened to original youtube?
they were broke because traffic and hosting was too expensive so google stepped in. How do you want to solve this problem? With a fee you have to pay for each video?

Not really a big idea just a day dream.....

I believe there are definite ways to work around it. If you have a video platform that secures it's users and creators in a cryptocurrency, it would be possible subsidize funds from the platform to facilitate hosting.

I don't want to bust any bubbles but I did believe there are a couple of websites like this. I'm not sure how popular they got in the end but in saying that they never made there own coin they instead used the tipping system for dogecoin and Bitcoin .

That's where they went wrong - Instead there should be a completely separate token made by the platform. No one would have to pay any money or fees for tipping creators either if every user's webpage acted as a miner. Every token mined by the users themselves can bee evenly distributed upon total active users - creating a fair distribution of wealth, while creators can be rewarded by users for good content. - this means no advertisers and no adpocalypse.

This project is being hyped only by newbies account, that inspires confidence

294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spreadcoin Scam alert!!! on: October 10, 2017, 12:14:08 PM
this seems relevant now. lol... bump
Wait what happened to spreadcoin? why the sudden dump?

eh, just the wallet with 40% of circulation dumped 6% of its assets today. I wasn't here to see how that wallet accumulated that 40% so I can't say much of it being a scam, but the original poster here was claiming that there was an exploit that the dev had which involved instamining. Super interesting. Goes to show you can't even trust legendary users sometimes.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Stack / STKToken , is it a scam? on: October 10, 2017, 11:52:12 AM
So I heard of this project and thought it was interesting - Joined the bounty when I first heard about it and checked out the website (which was really well designed). I check the team and see a bunch of faces and names i've never even heard of and see that they only had 2 partnerships with practically no media news articles or anything else.(Maybe they are big people- I just have never seen them, regardless their marketing and attempt of spreading awareness is lackluster for such a supposedly big company) Red flag #1 for me.

After about 2 weeks I noticed their ANN was practically dead. The telegram was horrible, there was no discussion between the team and the community - and whenever the team did respond it was a copy paste reply (good question, check our website at stktoken.com for more information etc.).Also after these 2 weeks I noticed they also updated their website and changed the ICO and presale dates. Red flag #2

They were posting on their telegram of partnering with Mastercard, the linked a blog post on their website speaking of the event. Strange, there's no news from Bloomberg, Forbes, Fortune -- nothing. If you search STKToken and Mastercard you will find nothing but secondhand news websites with low traffic posting this information. Red flag #3

Lastly, I noticed that the minimum cap was super low.....SUPER LOW, For a partnership with mastercard they have a min cap of  3,600E and a hard cap of 310,345 ETH.  Red flag #4

Lastly:

I posted this in tele...
I noticed conflicting data from their website and their bounty thread. Website says 5% of supply is allocated to bounties, while the bounty thread says %1.. so I asked them in telegram - immediately they deleted my post.. So i asked why? - they responded with "please be polite", I was being polite - so again I asked them the question and they banned me.

Edit: After further research I noticed that they had released their ICO under Tokenmarket. The most likely scenario is that Tokenmarket is keeping the 4% (what a nice fella). I still wouldn't touch this coin with a ten foot pole.

Steemit but in a youtube format! look at how things have been climbing down hill with Youtube (they are becoming the most dislike corporation on the web due to their negligence of original creators). They are dying to be the old myspace! The community is THERE, and trust me they WANT to stop using youtube. So why not a crypto-youtube, viewers tipping creators. It gets rid of the "adpacolypse" stuff going on too?

What do you think?

I feel so bad for the guy with 30 eth. You have no idea how much he didnt deserve it. and just lookiing at his ether address goes to show how distressing it will be for him... he put his whole entire portfolio in hopes of that project.. straight from bittrex.
