281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now a good time to invest in ICO? on: March 22, 2018, 10:10:06 AM
I've been searching for ICOs for a few days and there seems to be many cases of scams and hacks which kinda scares me. Obviously, there is no 100% certainty which is going to be a successful one but is there any way to identify which ones are at least going in the right direction? The first one I looked at was Mossland's Whitepaper and they seemed good with solid community. Or should I just buy BTC or ETH? Any suggestions and ideas would be very helpful!

There is plenty of good where you can buy in right now like Narrative, Thrive or viewly. In general you should do proper research before investing money but Thrive and narrative for example are very ambitious projects. As you can see in my signature I like also more conservative bets like good upcoming exchanges.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: March 22, 2018, 10:06:32 AM
There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?

That is a strange question in my eyes. BTC and Cash are focused on the currency functionality of crypto, maybe even more on value storage. Also they do not address a numer of other existing interests like privacy in full or the many identified use cases so far.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to not get SCAMMED investing in ICOs!!! on: March 22, 2018, 10:00:47 AM
If this keeps one person from getting scammed, I will be happy.

According to a recent article from Investopedia, $9 MILLION is being lost on a daily basis due to ICO scams! Are you investing in the next Facebook or are you investing in the next Enron? This will be a short write up on how to protect your hard earned money from ending up in a an ICO scam. Disclaimer here, please do not take this as investment advice. Investing in Initial Coin Offerings can either be extremely rewarding or you could potentially lose all of your money! I recommend Alt Coin investing for advanced level investors only!

Team:

One of the first things you should look for in a good ICO is a PUBLIC team with advisers. However, having a public team is not enough. You need to manually go check every key member of the team to check that they are in fact real and associated with the ICO. Is the founder a CEO from a Fortune 500 company and is this a new project for him, or is he coming from an unknown town in Siberia? There should also be some decent advisers on the team that are willing to risk their reputation on the project. A lot of scams don’t list the team members or use fake team members/advisers.

White Paper:

Yes, you need to take the time and read EVERY white paper on every project you invest in. If you don’t read the white paper, you are asking to lose money. How well is the white paper written and how is the overall layout? Is the white paper offering something too good to be true like 500% returns in the first year? Is there a clear and thoughtful road map? A good white paper will clearly contain all the necessary information about the project. A lot of scam projects are ambiguous. Caution, a lot of scams copy white papers from other projects.

Social Media:

Check the projects overall social media presence. How many Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, and Facebook followers do they have? How often have they been discussed in bitcoin talk? Have they been posted on any famous news websites? A lot of fake projects will have little social media presence or fake followers.

The Code:

I must admit, this is not my specialty. Most ICOs will post their code for all to see on Github. Check to see if the code is something meaningful or a bunch of lines of nonsense. You may not be able to tell the difference so get a tech friend to help you.

Company Legal Status

Make sure that the people conducting the ICO have registered the company in the country that they want to operate. A lot of ICOs create shell companies and are trying to hide their real identity. In most cases, you should be able to find an address.

In Summary:

Scammers are getting smarter and know a lot of this. This is just to help you check off the boxes to reduce your chances of getting scammed. Even after you find a REAL project, your job is just beginning. You still have to determine if it is a good investment! This is why I recommend ICOs for advanced investors. With that said, good luck finding the next unicorn!  Grin

I am watching a lot of manipulation on the size of telegram groups lately. What you might add as an indicator is existing prototype or even better working product and existing customers. Waltonchain or Cindicator spring to mind. I do not believe in ripple to say that again for missing proof of work and lack of decentralisation. Also Wanchain will start moving into the market soon.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of cryptocurrency on: March 22, 2018, 09:57:31 AM
What about the crypt? tell me when it will unfold? Or give a sign at least some, because I'm already beginning to think about quitting the game.

If you think about quitting the game you did something wrong. Crypto is the only space where you can really score big in the next couple of years without putting too much of your money. Just keep reading and digging. Learn about the use cases, about smart contracts and so on.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you even read whitepaper bro? on: March 22, 2018, 09:55:04 AM
Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

I do not read all the whitepapers but I have read all whitepapers on projects that are part of my long game to put it like that. Long game in crypto for me like one plus year investment.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to not get SCAMMED investing in ICOs!!! on: March 22, 2018, 09:50:52 AM
Nowadays all those points can be faked,
the one and most important you're missing is to check if the ICO is done by a registered company.

That is kind of true. I am really careful but the scammers in crypto are really good. If e.g. someone starts a topic about airdrop on bitcointalk then moves to discord and suddenly offers to sell masternodes that should be cause for alarm. Also dont distribute your data to freely via airdrops. Some of the scam emails on ongoing ICO are really professional. If someone on telegram pretends to be admin for ongoing ico and wants to sell you tokens this is always a scam. In general never send money for any item you want to buy just like that.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto end? on: March 22, 2018, 09:47:28 AM
Crypto right now keeps on increasing its value and its very volatile as well. There are so many more rules and regulation are occurring against cryptocurrencies.

Do you think someday cryptocurrencies will end?
Is it too late to invest?
Is there a chance cryptocurrencies will be more down?
Do you still beleive in crypto?
What is your favourite Altcoin?

Why should crypto end? This market is in its infancy. Many of the coins you will find today will vanish. The best use cases are not clearly identified yet. But as decentralisation is a big topic and our current fiat money is outdated, crypto and blockchain in general are here to stay.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: March 17, 2018, 12:09:00 PM
I love the way crypto can connect people from a different culture.
With crypto you don’t need bank account who needs al your private data.
Just make a wallet and you can receive payments from everyone in the world.

But my question is why do you love crypto?
Why are you interested?

I love crypto for the financial gains but also the technical and political potential that comes with it. It is for a reason that at the moment the projects for online identity like thekey civic or brige protocol spring up like mushrooms. Then there is other projects like Thrive or Narrative that are clearly planning to challenge some of the existing big players that have not adopted blockchain yet.

Of the "old" players Paypal is working on adoption of blockchain which makes total sense for them. So challengers in the space of online payments will face stiffer resistance.

Most important the political potential. Decentralization is not just a word. Crypto currencies do already have a massive impact for underbanked people. In the brave new world you only need internet and a smartphone. And ideally a nanoledger.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strong team on: March 17, 2018, 11:55:00 AM
Almost every coin has its own development team. Which team is the strongest and most promising in your opinion?

Narrative has an ongoing ICO for a large scale project. Buying 60 neo worth of tokens will give you what they call founder status there, which enables you to "own" certain topic niches. This is a large scale project with high risk. The team looks very strong which was one of my main reasons for participation.

Also notable that the price of Neo got fixed so right now you are buying in cheaper than early participants. Auction for niches and end of ICO are at the end of the month.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No listed on coinmarketcap on: March 17, 2018, 11:51:21 AM
I noticed a lots of coin on exchange site which are not listed on coinmarketcap. Should I buy those coin/token?

Anyone can request a listing on CMC. The only thing is that the coin or token needs a specific turnover on one of the exchanges that are recognized by CMC. A listing on CMC normally has a positive impact on price and volume.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token Vs Coin Main are Main Differences on: March 17, 2018, 11:47:19 AM
The main difference between Coins & Tokens is that Coins have their own separate blockchain & can run independently, for eg. Ethereum, Ripple, NEO, Monero. Whereas Tokens don't have their own blockchain instead they are dependent & operate on other cryptocurrencies blockchain, for eg. EOS, Tronix, TenXPay, SALT, OmiseGo all are ERC-20 compatible tokens & hosted on Ethereum Blockchain.

The only other blockchain besides btc and eth with traction right now is neo. I would not recommend ripple as it does not use the same proof of work and is not open and decentralized. Some people very bullish on EOS. Wanchain seen as potential ripple killer. Then there are Icon and Rchain. Omise also with a big and enthusiastic community. Tron pumped a lot earlier than anticipated. The ceo is a young protege of Richard Ma. The roadmap looked very long term for me. If you want early in you might have a look at Odyssey which right now is below ICO price and where Tron is one of the cornerstone investors.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum or Stellar?? on: March 16, 2018, 03:34:35 PM
I've invested in  Stellar since 2014, Do you guys think it will be a next generation of Cryptocurrency? Fast and safe with smallest fee. And some ICO base on stellar will be good?

I still favour Ethereum to be honest. Stellar came out of nowhere. I have colleagues here who had Stellar on the radar some early stage all year already. Only thing I really see competing with Ethereum in the nearer future with regards to ICO is still Neo. Some say "ah EOS such a brilliant tech" but they are earlier stage and still have to prove a lot of promises. Talkiking about tech was willing to look on Nano so transferred my one BTC to Bitgrail and that was my only exposure exchange wise and bang most likely big part of Nano gone. I wont buy Nano again even if they should fly to the moon but in my experience better to focus on projects you are doing well with.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcointalk release its own currency ? on: March 14, 2018, 05:06:53 PM
What do you think about the idea that the forum management creates an ecosystem through a simple cryptocurrency which is not for selling or buying ? In my opinion, it would be very enjoyable to see such an initiative from the forum management.

If I can buy some merit points with the token I am all in. They really should get that fixed. I do not have any clue how to collect the merit points needed for senior member status and that is kind of disappointing.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with Masternode? on: March 14, 2018, 05:01:05 PM
Harvest Coin doing ok for me. I think a node is like 1200 dollar right now. Traded on cryptopia and a good big number of active masternodes. The annual return not the same as some of the completely fresh but it seems well managed and poised to stay for the long run.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEO still worth investing in? on: March 13, 2018, 02:16:06 PM
Is NEO still worth investing in? I have my final $150 and I'm not sure if I should buy NEO or ADA

Are you serious? It is a brilliant time to go shopping for some Neo. After make sure to enter the lottery for Nex ICO on 31st of March. That might make your 2 Neo golden.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like airdrops? on: March 12, 2018, 08:27:24 PM
Hello guys!  Wink

Today I wanted to ask you, what do you think about airdrops?

As for me, I work in the KickCity project and recently we launched airdrop. I do really like the result! We have a lot of newcomers and new people who are interested in the company. If you want to join you can ask the team in the community https://t.me/kickcity_chat (the airdrop is closed by now)

SO  Shocked

Are you taking part in airdrops? Do you like the result? What is the feedback?
Or maybe you are working in a project launching airdrop?

I do not take part in airdrops any more but I had some really interesting results and even some airdrops I am still holding. If you need a start and want to invest some work you might look at ternio.io. It is not strictly an airdrop but if you get lucky you are one of 20 winners every day that gets tokens for nominal 500 usd. Feel free to check it out:

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is product important for a project? on: March 12, 2018, 08:23:47 PM
Guys, how do you think, is a ready-made product important for ICO project?

In my opinion, it is, because it can show investors that the team is ready to bring huge results and has future plans.

As an example - KickCity, event platform where each user is rewarded for event promotion. You can try it today. More information you can find here  https://medium.com/@kickcity_io/kickcity-public-beta-5aa66fafc5c7

I totally agree with that. Ideally not only a ready product but also customers and strategic partners already lined up. KickCity is not my cup of tea I think but now that you mention it I will have a closer look at it,
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [ICO] [VZT] Vezt - Blockchain-secured Music Monetization Platform on: March 08, 2018, 08:28:40 PM
Would be nice if they would pay the promised bounties or answer on one of the many Mails I sent them. It's not worth the investment if they do business that way...

My worst investment ever. I wanted to give it a shot after considering horizon and genesis vision for low starting market cap. They do not give a shit about their investors. So far not listed on a single proper exchange. Just a cash grab. Really a surprise as the project does look promising but worth nothing if they dont care at all about investors or are clueless about crypto.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS JOINING BOUNTY MORE PROFITABLE THAN JOINING AN ICO? on: March 08, 2018, 10:09:16 AM
I spend most of my time now in bounty hunting of tokens, which is for me, a good way to earn more money in crypto world. But I've noticed that there was this ICO that i didn't join because they don't offer bounty campaign which is their ico token price was so less. And when this ico goes live on the exchange. The price of that token gains 10x of its ICO value! Thats why i think to myself, is bounty hunting more profitable than joining the ico? Can anyone help me out.

As soon as you participate in an ICO you put money at risk. In the current market a high % of ICO is trading under ICO price, no matter what quality the project is. I normally participate in bounties where I am also willing to take part in the ICO. For bounties you dont have to risk any of your money. No matter if you are looking for bounty or ICO, the assesment of the project should be looking at the same things like prototype, team, advisors, token metrics and so on.
