281  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe's drought the worst in 500 years on: August 25, 2022, 07:12:20 PM
The drought in Europe is really bad, but the environmentalist "doom&gloom" propaganda is over the top.
Worst drought in 500 years? Who was measuring the levels of drought back in 1522? The Roman Catholic church? Grin
Most of the mainstream media forget to mention that mostly western Europe was hit by the drought. The situation in eastern Europe isn't that catastrophic. The harvest in Europe is going to be bad and the food prices won't be going down anytime soon.
The "wars for water" might happen after 30 or 50 years. The next generation will be witnessing such wars, if we don't do anything about the subject.

Climate change and global warming are real but I agree with you, environmentalism is a bit over the top with their sensational news with the bogus claim "the worst in xx years". Though I believe the change might differ from how we thought. Before, we used to say it was the developing countries or countries near the Equator that takes the worst of climate change.

But from what I saw, it seems like Temperate countries or developed countries take the worst. Temperate countries see more drought, low water on rivers, and hotter summer. Tropical climate countries have more rains and more floods but it's still manageable with proper floor control. The storm/typhoon is their biggest problem tho. Your vision of the "wars for water" could only happen between developed countries cause developing countries will have plenty of water.

Newcastle offer of €70 million was fantastic, Real Sociedad was very difficult to turn down an offer from Newcastle for Alexander Isak because this transfer would greatly benefit Real Sociedad from a financial point of view even though Alexander Isak has become a key player in the Sociedad squad.
Newcastle who are backed with a lot of money, have no difficulty in hijacking talented players from other teams. If this transfer materializes, Newcastle front line will be very dangerous.
Newcastle only have Callum Wilson for forward position although this player is sharp striker but he has a history of serious injuries so it is risky to Newcastle if only rely on him and before get Isak actually Newcastle has linked to other famous players such as Jesse Lingard but unfortunately he weren't willing to moved to Newcastle and regarding Alexander Isak he is important player for Sociedad but last season he had decline performance and in my opinion 70 millions pounds for the player who only scoring 6 goals last season is overpriced but this offers cannot be denied by Sociedad so sell him is good choice for them
I also think so, the price of 70 million for a player who was not so bright last season is very expensive. but Alexander Isak is only 22 years old and that would be a good long term project, now Newcastle are just a step away from getting Alexander Isak. in terms of quality this player is quite good at his young age and it is possible to shine even more when playing for a club with other great players and I think Newcastle is suitable for his career development.
Alexander Isak deserves his worth at 70 million. He's a good player in all aspects, even better than Bruno Fernandes, in my opinion. If you watch Alexander Isak play, the way his kick is very akin to Kaka at the golden age. So yes, no wonder they were asking 70 million for him since the seller and buyer both are experts. In short, they know their game well.
Any club now wants to sign Alexander Isak will see from that price range cause he's hot right now. Especially Manchester United since they were in buying mode, looking for young players to build up their dream team. Who knows, maybe it was a signal sent to Manchester United.
No doubt Isak is a great player. He can make his marks in Premier league,  he's been the main man in Real Sociedad for the last few years. I don’t know why you’re comparing Isak, a striker to Bruno Fernandes a midfielder but that besides the point, Isak is worth €70M considering his age and abilities. Sometimes I think the price is huge and it comes with unnecessary pressure. Most times, big money buys doesn’t impress. I know He is a good player but not a finish player and still needs to improve in a lot of places.
I talked about Bruno Fernandes and compared him to Isak as a striker because we all know how good Bruno Fernandes is. He's not just a midfielder but can also attack and know for his goalscoring ability. Yes, the price of Alexander Isak may seem too high if you look at his age and the team he plays for. But this is where experts come in and analyze the player to see if it is worth the money or not. I say it's worth because of his young age and skills, and the potential of growing him into a new star.

after some time there is again a nice cartoon of real madrid, which shows the generation change of important players in the form of new batteries Grin
Casemiro has already been replaced, Modric and Kroos will follow at some time in the future...

Is it just me, or would it be even better if they just put those three in there and let Modric and Kroos transition into retiring? I get that Modric looks like he can still play amazingly, but that's exactly why they should be switching a bit. Kroos hasn't been amazing in a long time so that's an easy decision for me.

Just let Modric play with 2 out of 3 of those young players, and that way they could just rest Modric easily and sub in the other third one, or if anyone is injured or booked, then Modric gets in, if they ever happen to miss 2 of those young players, then it will be Modric + Kroos and a new kids. That's how it should be, improve the new talent instead of focusing on the old one.
Not just you, everyone thought the same. Switching young Camavinga, Tchouameni, and Valverde into the midfield lineup to get them slowly to know the rope and become the future replacement for Modric and Kroos. Expect to see more Camavinga-Tchouameni-Valverde as a trio since Real Madrid wants those young boys to know each other's playstyle, not the Modric + Kroos's playstyle.

Honestly if Man Utd can replicate their brilliant performance against Liverpool in their subsequent matches then maybe the expected turn around of the club is imminent, of course credit should be given to them for that win against their arch rival after many soccer analysts had predicted that they will lose that match, they played with zeal and determination, I think they will continue to continue on a positive note and consolidate on that win in their next match and the arrival of Casimero probably a more improve side.
The latest news also mentions that the Man Utd coach will end their era of defender jokes.  This time, it is claimed that Erik Ten Hag will take decisive steps by removing Maguire's captain's armband and will patent the Varane - Martinez duo.
Casimero coming to Manchester United is a big positive note to the club. If Maguire is out of Manchester United then it's even better. Maguire has been a poor captain for Manchester United for quite a time without anyone to take up the mandate. Maybe De Gea or Ronaldo could take up Manchester United's captain role. I know Ronaldo has a very rocky relationship with his teammate but you can't deny him. He was a great leader since he led Portugal to win the Euro 2020 cup.

The new money clan of the English premier league aren't playing around, they're already playing some great football but these additional signings will make them even stronger. Isak is a fantastic young player, he's been very important for Real Sociedad in the last few years and could become vital part of Newcastle project too, pairing him upfront highly in form Allan Saint-Maximin would be scary for any defense line tbh.
No wonder a club like Newcastle is targeting this one player. They will obviously quickly pick up a contract signing. In fact, Newcastle have shown significant improvements to the giant clubs so they don't take them for granted. Alexander Isak, who has an attacking character, is clearly quite matched with what Newcastle needs to break into the Premier League more aggressively.
Newcastle is the big boy now. Not just showing interest in Alexander Isak, Newcastle also wants to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea on loan. Though, there is a report that other clubs like West Ham and Everton are eyeing Conor Gallagher too. Chelsea also wants to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton as well. Trade between both Chelsea and Everton with Conor Gallagher and Anthony Gordon both on load to each other seems very likely. But I think Newcastle is on the rise now so Conor Gallagher definitely shines more on Newcastle this season.

Here is list of top indebted countries of the world.

Almost all big economic powers like USA, Japan, China are prominent in this list.

If whole world is under debt then who is the lender Huh

Source: VGraphs Facebook Page

The United States of America is in debt to me and my wife.

In fact any US citizen can buy an I bond and the US gov will be in debt to them.

My wife and I plan to increase the USA’s debt to us every year for the next five years.
Basically, the world is in global mode where countries are indebted to each other. See Major Foreign Holders Of Treasury Securities from Department of the Treasury/Federal Reserve Board,
August 15, 2022. Not just you and your wife, as well as other Americans but many US allies like Japan, UK, France,... and even China, brought US bonds.

Remember when I shit talk G2 with their roster Niko, m0nesy, Aleksib, Jackz, hunter? All the talented players but going nowhere? Looks at what they have done to change it -Aleksib -Jackz, +jks +HooXi. Final roster right now is Niko, m0nesy, hunter, jks, HooXi.

jks is okay but I really don't understand why they benched Aleksib. Another episode of Niko wants to make a call and overstep the igl role so they rather slot in someone more tame-able, Like an igl from the tier2 team, HooXi from Copenhagen Flames? Does any old Faze Clan fan here remember the fracture of Faze back in 2019-2020 mostly between Niko and karrigan? Blast is coming in 3 days so dont expect much from this G2 with the new roster, just saying.

295  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 29, 2022, 03:07:20 PM
Canned food is okay but if you intake it for too long, it might not good for your health. From that point, I think you should brand out more. If I live away from the city, in a suburban arena, I'd try to set up a chicken coop. Good source of eggs daily and maybe chicken meat too if you know how to prepare a live chicken. I know your rules about no fresh meat but poultry feed for those chickens is easy to store. Require just a little time per day to feed and collect their eggs too.

Many products have their own expiration dates. If you use them as the deadlines run out, you can buy quite a lot. The problem will always be with water. You can eat less, but water should be consumed without saving on it. Otherwise, health problems will arise that will not be helped by a large supply of food.

Another question, a month or more, under what circumstances will the question of survival arise? And also the meaning, if here, for example, they talked about nuclear war? If we talk about global cataclysms, what can change if someone can extend their life by a few months? Smiley
Agree, water is the biggest issue here. He can dig a well. From what I've researched, well drilling costs around $25 to $65 per foot to put in complete system installation. The average cost to dig or drill a new water well is $3750 to $15300. Seems like a lot but solve the water issue right away and benefit in a long time.

CS GO: G2 are on the verge of replacing JACKZ with JKS.
Wtf? this is such a massive downgrade. Well, i guess from now on we'll see G2 in shitty ass tier 3 tournaments, Malta Vibes, Pinnacle cup, stuff like that  Grin

in other news, Spinx will join Vitality and replace misutaa. Rumours began last week that ENCE's best player was on Vitality's radar, but some recent reports are saying that it's a done deal and an official announcement will be made soon on Vitality's website. Now THAT is an upgrade 👀 Hopefully they'll bench botApex and find a proper IGL

Totally agreed. I don't think that jks is better than JACKZ now. Maybe he is younger than JACKZ (jks-26, JACKZ-30). However I don't like jks' performance as much as JACKZ. G2 would need a not only younger but also more talented player to replace JACKZ now. They need to carry their current level to a higher one not lower. They haven't been successful at all despite having a wonderful player like m0nesy.

I think it would be a good move for Vitality to get one of the strongest players at ENCE. They also need to improve their game and this transfer can be helpful for that.
G2 is a sinking ship. Literally a place to waste talented players. They got Niko and m0nesy, Aleksib's brain, Jacks and hunter are decent too but somehow, the team can not find a well deserved victory at major for that rooster.
btw, stewie is retired from CSGO and will be a content creator for Valorant. NA CSGO looks grim, most pro players in NA CSGO either retired or become Valorant pros.

Talk about Liquid, damn I'm also hyped for the Liquid team back then with the NAF, elige, twistzz, stewie, nitr0 as the main rooster. Liquid got a short period of time overwhelming the EU cs scene but after a few tournaments and replays being watched and analyzed, Liquid's strats got countered pretty quick. I think we all know how Liquid values the individual skill, the star player. This helps them to overcome the tough spots in the game with other EU cs teams. Bad economy? Drop big gun for twistzz or elige and see they shine, line up the kills. CT side control a chokepoint with all nades? Let stewie pull his smoke criminal play and push thru.

But once the enemy knows all of your tricks and pulls, they keep tight control of the games and more discipline which is the main core for EU cs teams. And that's the end for Liquid, frustration leads to low morale, no confidence in the individual skill of your teammate and start doubting on igl's call,... A sad end.

Tho I'm happy for twistzz right now because his talent doesn't go waste. He's playing for Faze now and Karrigan is 200IQ brainer so he knows where to make use of twistzz's skill. This IEM cup surely shows that.

Also, that's a nice winning streak, tomahawk9. Congratulation!

Doubt goes all field. Of all countries and you think China will adopt cryptos and even NFTs? Have you seen China recently crackdown on crypto? Even the construction section for housing got downsized because it doesn't align with Xi Jinping's vision, of a China industry powerhouse as well to reduce the chance of the housing bubble. The big tech section in China also takes some hits too.
300  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 19, 2022, 08:48:22 AM
While we talk about the history of gambling, I think it would also be interesting to know when the first casino house was established and what was its name.

The first casino house, even though it wasn't called a casino but meets the modern definition its name was The Ridotto, which was established in Venice, Italy, in 1638 by the Great Council of Venice to provide controlled gambling during the carnival season. which was later closed in 1774 because the city administration felt that it was impoverishing the local people.

Source: Wikipedia
Cool, always think it either from European where Venice become the center hub of trading, banking, and plenty of money to be made hence gambling may start from there. Or China because there are so many old gambling games from there, like Fan-Tan for example.
