1) Your contacts will not receive SMS from your number - we will use other app users to reach them
2) We will randomise the delivery - receivers will get SMS from various numbers
3) Birdchain app will block ability for receiver to call or message you for 72 hours after they will receive the SMS

But most importantly is that nobody is going to call or text you. There are plenty of countries where premium sender ID is very expensive and most of the companies use regular numbers. It is normal practice to show a number of senders.

I guess the best answer here is a question:
- How likely it would be for you to call or text the number when you receive Google verification code? Or a message from IKEA that sofas are 10 percent off this weekend?

Yes, you are right - it is technically impossible not to show the number. Most of the people are actually OK with it - 70 percent of population would participate in selling their SMS and 60 percent of population don't mind if their number is public as long as they're getting paid. These are average number in 3 countries we did a survey in. I will add this information to the White paper too.

But most importantly we decided not to stress selling of SMS part so much. Because Birdchain is so much more than just this feature.

How come you don't go to events? Don't you find them useful?

Actually, we are negotiating with several institutional investors and we plan to visit few of them and meet one of them in person this week. On the same topic... We also are discussing which events we should attend and where we could meet our supporters and potential investors. Do you have some events on your mind? What are you planning to visit?

That actually was a bit of miscalculation. We received massive interest from people who want to sell their SMS, and... we did not log them. We will solve this by upgrading our landing page. Visitors will be able to choose who they are: end-users, contributors or businesses that will use our service. Depending on their selection, we will be able to provide relative information and log them in different databases. We will use this information to display the demand for the app and the service.

We have important news. Please read the following information very carefully. You will find all answers to your questions here. If you have contributed in our ICO, we have sent you a personal e-mail. Please check your inbox.

It’s been almost 3 weeks after the launch of our ICO and we raised a fraction of our soft cap. That is why we decided to restart our ICO as pre-ICO. Do not worry. All contributors will be fully refunded, and all bounties will be covered.

Even though we will restart ICO of Birdchain, we never lost faith in the idea and we are still firm believers in its success. We did a survey recently and 89 percent of our contributors assured they support Birdchain too.

What will happen now?
1.    We are stopping this crowdfunding.

3.    The pre-ICO will be held in the late January-February of 2018.
4.    We will fix, update and upgrade our communication and product.

Before launching pre-ICO or ICO we will review our communication and we will update it. We will mostly focus on gathering even bigger and stronger community and database of people who want to sell their SMS.

Restart is crucial because of these three reasons:
1.    We are negotiating with several potential partners in South America and Asia that shown their interest and want to commit to Birdchain. They asked us to postpone the ICO, arguing that the situation in the market is not favorable for ICOs;
2.    We had several really big contributors who were about to meet our soft cap. Unfortunately, when the second Bitcoin fork was canceled and price of BTC rocketed, they halted their contributions until the market will settle;
3.    Our developers are revising technical improvements for Birdchain. It might be built on IOTA network which offers better scalability and micro-transactions.

Finally, during these weeks we learned a lot about the ICOs, the crypto-market, and what works and what does not. We found new ways to communicate and find contributors. All of our team has a completely different mindset and motivation. We understand that this pre-ICO is our last chance to make the Birdchain fly. That is why we will try even harder, and be better.

we are receiving this question far too often than we would like to I will answer your question and full

First of all, all of the time we communicated only the SMS part. I - and the whole team - believed that it would be the most interesting point of communication and it will give a sense of security because we are working in this field for almost 10 years. We know what operators can and can not do. We (and I) expected people to assume that we are not bullshitting them and trust us.

The thing is that Birdchain is far more than just selling SMS. SMS are just 1 of the cool and useful features the app will have. Birdchain will be instant messenger app and it will provide rewards for 1) selling SMS 2) watching/engaging content 3) selling personal data. Basically, now people are doing all that for free. Apart from SMS part, we have tested these features in other our companies or companies that our founders invested in. So, we know that there is a need for these services and people like them a lot.

Second of all, let me answer your question
1) Operators do not read billions of SMS of millions of their users every month;
2) They are reacting only if person is sending more than limit set by their Fair Usage Agreement AND SIM car is always connected to single tower (it indicates using of SIMbox);
3) We are recommending not to exceed the limit and as people are using their personal phones and commuting, their SIM connects to multiple towers. Thus operator will see it is a real person;
4) If Birdchain app users will not exceed their FUA limit and operators will start reading their private SMS that will be considered as privacy violation;
5) Operators will not risk getting sued for privacy violation for little sum;

Moreover:
6) It will take some time for operators to react - 3-4 years to be exact;
7) If one operator will cancel free SMS the other will offer more of them and win portion of the market;
As I have mentioned before, Birdchain is not relying on 1 feature

But most importantly:
9) Operators are not gods

Hi, actually it will work a bit differently. They will receive our tokens not for receiving SMS, but for sending SMS.

From a person perspective it will work like this:
1) Downloads app
2) sets limit of SMS they can/want sell
3) clicks "Send"
4) SMS are sent from their phone automatically in the background
5) They get paid for every single sold SMS

Yes, the number will be visible to a receiver. No, we will not send SMS to the contacts of app user. No, operators will not get mad, because we will send SMS in their network and we need only 50k-100k app users globally to be sustainable.
