Indeed, it's back. Hope there will be any explanation.
282  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Charts down ? on: July 28, 2013, 09:42:45 AM
I missed all the fun, bitcoincharts is simply unavailable for me at this moment.

This is a good time to think about the fact that lots of bitcoin-related services rely on bitcoincharts API. There is a domino effect whenever they go down.

Another thing to think about is that bitcoincharts are in the preparing the "pro" paid version of their service, with powerful trading tools. The hack may be related.

I was also thinking about these two facts.

Well done.

By the way, site doesn't respond anymore.

Can different charts be allocated to different screens?

Sort of like so:

Or at least...different browser tabs?

I hope so because I was planning buying / mounting such setup Smiley.

By the way, I think answer is positive..
289  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: July 23, 2013, 03:28:53 PM
Thanks for the link looks good and eventually I will start playing with the BB. I just think the Pi gets a bad rap it has quirks and is slow but is perfect for Bitcoins. Lowered costs = better ROI @ an exchange of $65 for the BeagleBone and it still needs just as much hardware as the Pi - One other upside to the Pi vs any other platform is the force updating it keeping it current. Fixing the bugs. They posted the other day some of the issues with Raspbian USB are worked out and a push will get that code out. But ultimately for Mining Arch is the way to go. Low overhead = less power consumption not much but it helps, very fast boot time, and with MinePeon I am finding the support is unrivaled. It comes down to if it really isn't broke why fix it or reinvent it. And since it just sits there mining it doesn't have to be fancier or more powerful than the Pi.

Thank you, will think about RPi / BB Smiley
290  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: July 23, 2013, 02:41:04 PM
My opinion it's not the Pi or the BB it's the Hub. Low quality hubs provide low quality and will not be suitable for every application. The statement above the Pi hates USB the device didn't work until Minepeon? It's still the same Pi different OS?

Thank you for sharing your thought.

By the way, to answer your question : the source is :

Yes the pi hate's USB devices ....

If there is even a tiny amount of feedback power coming from hubs or the devices the pi behaves crazy ....

Until minepeon i couldn't even get my Ztex boards to work with the pi. It constantly froze and was unreliable as hell.

Do you think BeagleBone behaves better relating to USB hubs ?

"The Anker Hub linked here DOES NOT WORK with the Pi or Beaglebone"

All you got to do people is ask..  Now would all the Trolls go away..   Silly Trolls, Tricks are for Kids..

Hi

We are glad the picture has sparked a debate but what I can assure you is that the picture shows the die running at 125 degrees C. if it looks warmer to the human eye we are sorry but its not.
The thermal image is an absolute worst case scenario and one that will never happen if the chips is running in normal conditions. When the chips designers produce these images they have to use worst case all others cases are irrelevant. What the drawing shows is that even at 125C we are able to cool that much heat with our heat sink, which is a slightly modified http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/cpu/472/freezer-i30.html?c=2181 our device still works normally.

Thanks

Still, please continue. Observation of sudden negative armchair 'experts' with 'professional' insight makes for an interesting take as to why you prowl upon a thread you have no vested interest in...or do you?? (Note: none of this is directed at nightingale or nemo1024)

pretty much figured that this would be the case. the other measurements were a little too small ^^

I always tought about inches instead mm Smiley, what led me to current mm size Smiley

(Even 160*160*200 doesn't lead to new sizes just by converting Smiley )

Well if you do have some open air GPU's you can always heat a room.  Forgot about that use.  But if your heater goes out..... you will be prepared.

I'm finally relieved Smiley
