So I'm slowly going into crypto and I want to know if any of you trade altcoins daily, or you prefer to hold it for long term? What do you think it's better and why?
Thanks
long term holding. I'm not experienced enough for day trading, although sometimes I use advance trading instruments to help out a bit. I have been thinking to enter proper day trading though, I would just need to study more resources first.

Yes, the END of cheap, great quality crypto is NEAR. Once Amazon.com adopts crypto, the masses will fully awaken, and will come pouring in. Get your crypto now, my timeline says in February Amazon will launch something MAJOR, and this article supports my conclusion: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-01-22/could-amazon-be-gearing-cryptocurrency-exchangesOnce the largest American online retailer fully supports crypto, the FUD will no longer be as effective in tanking the markets.... you will never again see a time to buy such great quality crypto. that would be a gamechanger, I agree. it's still only speculation, we can not be sure at all though. But for the company like amazon, it would make perfect sense to embrace crypto. Let's hope it happens soon ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I recommend you to go with other coins than eth. If you want to invest in smart contracts platform, nem should be your choice. They're due to implement some really cutting edge features, the whole network is much better than eth
depends on criteria you chose. For swift cheap transactions litecoin is really cool. Eth and nem are good for smart contracts. then you have new companies and tokens that target specific industry segments. a lot to choose from
it will not die but it will become more regulated. Some countried might completely ban icos, but that won't happen globally.

I think it's losing its popularity in terms of crypto community as other currencies are gaining more traction. But given the influx of new crypto users, all in all bitcoin's popularity keeps growing.

The factors that most affect the price of bitcoin down or experience the movement that is found on the demand and supply (people who buy and sell) bitcoin itself. Although bitcoin price movements can quickly change but market price movements can also be played by a person in order to take advantage of the situation so that it gets many benefits
I was rather referring to real value of btc, which is not in the volatility but the real use of decentralized payment solution. Thats has basically diminished for now.
After distributing the coins, the rate has dropped. Growth on it. not worth it, better buy BitcoinCash
What coin are you referring to? There is no coin yet. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) following few days are essential

I feel like it's my obligation to share my 2 cents on current "steep" drop of bitcoin price. I find it absolutely unbelievable when people say how low the price of btc is, speaking of the price at $10k or $11k. Those who have been in this industry long enough to remember the price of btc to be $5 are just shrugging their shoulders short of words.
What I'm trying to say is that those new community members so called "hypers" should stop spreading fud when price goes down and same goes with price growing. Actually growing price of btc is kind of problem as it's starting to miss its original purpose of cheap quick transactions. We need people focusing on real value of this ecosystem rather than moon kids...
Thanks for hearing me, couldn't help myself
It's price is still high now as is and I won't say that it is low after all it has been stuck on a price range below 1000$ just before this bearish trend started. Let the hypers FUD all they want. We will also benefit even if they do it because it will present another good entry point for us to rebuy. You are right though that it has long gone to the wrong path since it is merely used for speculations nowadays. I hope I will see the day that btc transactions are fast and have cheap fees. Exactly, you got my point.

NEVER EVER send your private key anywhere. Move yout Bitcoins to a new address before you do anything (paid 50cent in fees 2h ago). Wait until Coinomi supports it and sweep the now empty private key which held Bitcoin due the fork. Did that with Bitcore now 20$ per coin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thank you, that's a clear warning and I'll heed it. I don't understand what "sweep the now empty private key which held Bitcoin due the fork", sorry. Where can I bone up on how to do that? Also, once Bitcoin Atom puts out their Atom wallet, wouldn't that be a good way to get the BCA and store it? To make it easy and understandable: 1. You need to export your private key from your current address 2. Then send btc from current address to another address where your exported private key doesn't apply 3. Import private key to BCA supported wallet, like coinomi. This way even if there is any issue and your private key gets exposed, you will not lose btc as you already moved them to another address with different private key. I hope it helps ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

you simplified it too much. I agree that if there is nothing solid behind the fork just saying "fork" and that's it, not good enough, it's worth nothing. however speaking of bitcoin atom i am really impressed with the features they offer. when they launch atom swaps the price will skyrocket..

Atom seems to be something new and interesting!, but there is no information about the team?, but I still think that this coin will be more successful!
they decided to remain hidden but the code should be open. I'm waiting for that moment to judge the project
Thank you for your support! Congratulations! Now everyone big HODLLLLLLLLLL! so it happened ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) congratz to team now let's get those atomic swaps running ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

When listing on Bittrex/coinbase or poloniex?
you should use Yobit or Coinomi to make sure you get it

why do you say that? it seems so strong enough to success He was speaking about mining difficulty..
