281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Gold is government assest,Bitcoin is all yours." A Comparison between them. on: March 25, 2021, 03:46:27 PM
~snip~

The only way to invest in Gold is to buy physical Gold and the transfer of ownership is difficult over long distances. (Also very risky) ...So why would you risk having to hoard Gold and becoming a huge target for criminals.  Roll Eyes

You are right about it. It will be too risky to do such thing as you will be an open target for many kind of criminals. However, you are also under the threat of cybercriminals while having cryptocurrencies also. Let's say that you are keeping your coins in a very trustworthy exchange like Binance etc. . There is always a possibility for seeing the exchange to be hacked. We witnessed such event before (It should be KuCoin as far as I remember).
282  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This is why you DON'T want go short now 84% of the bearish options has wiped out on: March 24, 2021, 09:55:25 AM
There are still people who are expecting and hoping the price to come down to 15-20k dollars soon but I don't think such thing will happen in the near future. And when it comes to going short, I don't think it would be a wise choice as Bitcoin seems to be still in the bull market. So still many people are waiting for another boom in the price in 2021.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jerome Powell about Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 09:50:08 AM
FED chair Jerome Powell says cryptos such as Bitcoin still too volatile to replace the US and deemed it a speculative asset. $BTC enjoyed price surges this year as major companies adopted and invested in the token.
What are your thoughts?

I think it is totally clear already that Bitcoin's aim is not replacing the US Dollar and it can't also. Not many governments would like accept Bitcoin as their main currency. And I give them right. The best things for Bitcoin could be:

1. Becoming one of the best alternative payment methods and being useable in as many places as possible.
2. Continuing to be one of the best investment tools.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Major Risks in Crypto Business on: March 24, 2021, 09:44:02 AM
The biggest risk in investing in a cryptocurrency is its volatility of course. You should be absolutely aware of the possibility that you can't lose all your money or things can go the other way around. Especially if you are investing in an altcoin which is not known by the majority, the risk increases more. One should be very careful because of these reasons.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Declares War on Bitcoin (?) on: March 24, 2021, 09:38:53 AM
China claims it must "crackdown" on bitcoin to save the environment and the planet.

Saving the environment with this action? Really? It is just no more than an excuse for banning Bitcoin. Bitcoin mining is not the only thing which has disadvantages for the environment. There are many other and serious problems than that. Besides, I don't think that mining will always continue to consume too much electric. They will absolutely find green solutions in the future.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Bitcoin Giving on: March 20, 2021, 10:16:42 AM
There are many people who have been scammed this last year with the livestreams that they made on YouTube with hacked channels, but really if you think about it, nobody is going to multiply x2 the btc that you send to the wallet that they indicate.

It is really shocking to see these kind of people who believes in such frauds very easily. It is a very poor tactic that you think of making people believe you by verified accounts. You just directly want their crypto from people to double it etc. and you are proving it clearly that it is fake. I really don't understand how foolish you should be to believe such thing.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If most of Bitcoin is owned by few it cannot be a store of wealth for all on: March 20, 2021, 10:11:08 AM
First of all, Bitcoin is an investment tool for everybody. We will always be able to trade and use it as a payment method when buying something. And there will always be rich people who have Bitcoin much more than normal people. It is already like that now. So we shouldn't worry about whether we will be able to buy and sell Bitcoin whatever amount we like. There is no such thing in question that we will have problems on doing these things freely.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for Holders! on: March 20, 2021, 10:00:36 AM
i agree with subject of this post, btc is for hodlers only and not for day traders. Even those who bought btc at high price of 20k in 2017 were abe to sell it at triple price after 3 years of holding. Bitcoin never betrays provided you are hodler.

The situation is exactly like it. People who have had knowledge about this market should already be knowing that HODLing is the best and smartest thing to do with Bitcoin. There are many long-term investors right now and I believe they are all doing the right thing. Because maybe in a few years again, they could even become millionaires depending on the amount of money they invested in and the increase rate in the price.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin fall to zero? Be woke with changes of No. of BTC with $ 1 million on: March 20, 2021, 09:54:18 AM
There is always a chance for the price of any cryptocurrencies to fall to zero dollars. Bitcoin seems much more powerful than the others but the same risk exists for it too. It actually depends on how much a cryptocurrency is developed and whether there is always an effort to make it better. As long as Bitcoin and the Lightning Network continue to get better and spread around the world, it is very hard that we could see the price being $0. And the high-fee problem is not an impossible problem to be solved.

292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: March 19, 2021, 10:32:11 PM
A hope the school you attend teaches you well about bitcoin.

I mean it's truly worth getting involved with!

Yeah, it is also another thing that is very important for learning about Bitcoin well. I really appreciate the schools that really care about their students' future. Because digital currencies are our future and the earlier you learn about them the better. But they should be taught really well otherwise there would be no point in doing this.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OGs: guys, lets just sell now, let the idiots buy at 60k LMAO! on: March 19, 2021, 10:28:18 PM
I'm glad you managed to sell the 26 BTC you had when the Bitcoin price was $ 60k, but telling idiots to people buying Bitcoin for $ 60k is not good.
Because there is a possibility that someone will buy Bitcoin at a price of $ 60k, because he intends to invest long-term in Bitcoin. So depending on
the strategy we use when buying Bitcoin, there is nothing wrong with buying Bitcoin at $ 60k. Because I believe there are many people buying Bitcoin
not looking at the Bitcoin price, they just routinely buy Bitcoin every week or every month to collect Bitcoin. Because the price of Bitcoin in the next
5 years will definitely be much more expensive.

Yes, it is not a clever thing to state that the people who choose to buy at 60k are idiots. Because you never know what level Bitcoin will reach in even only one year. For example, there are many speculations like the price can go above 100k in 2021. If it happens, then the people who buy at the current price will make a great deal of profit for sure.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power consumption propaganda? on: March 19, 2021, 10:24:36 PM
I think it is more misinformation and a lack of understanding and also a lack of basic research on the subject matter. If you do a little bit of proper research... you will notice that most of the mining in China are done with renewable/clean surplus energy resources. (Hydro electricity and Wind farms etc..)

Also, if you look at the energy needed for the alternative currencies... you might notice that it is using a lot more energy. (Banks use enormous amounts of energy for CCTV / Cooling / Office equipment etc.)    Wink

You really made a point. There are many institutions etc. that have much more power consumption than Bitcoin miners. And we are having much bigger environmental problems than this but it looks like some people don't want to put them to the first place in the list. And we also have global warming which is very important and caused by various things. If this kind of people really care about the world, they should especially indicate them.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin better than Fiat? on: March 19, 2021, 10:19:10 PM
Fiat and Bitcoin both have positive and negative sides of course. I can't say that one of them is completely better than the other. But I'd like to say that Bitcoin's popularity continues to rise every year and its usage also broadens. People are really curious about it as its decentralized structure and its being a futuristic version of money. And for sure, we will see digital currencies will be taking the place of fiat in the future.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi's new attempt to attack bitcoin on: March 19, 2021, 10:10:41 PM
Another preposterous act from Mr. Faketoshi (Craig Wright) has been on the internet today and this time he is attacking the bitcoin core developers but in vain.
He allegedly claims that bitcoin core developers are to be held responsible for the $5 billion worth of bitcoins he claims to be stolen in Feb 2020.
Anybody with their right minds will never try to sue the developers of an opensource project for something which usually happens by their own mistakes.
But here we go again, Craig Wright has gone nuts again for his cheap ideology and attempts to attack bitcoin.
He believes it will create new implications on how bitcoin operates and it's users. I wonder how low can he fall just to attack bitcoin again and again.

More info at : Craig Wright demands that ‘Bitcoin developers’ return him $5 billion in BTC

P.S : The article also highlights that Craig Wright has admitted through his lawyers that he was the guy to steal 80k BTC in the Mt.Gox hack.

It is really a weird thing that he even thinks of the possibility that he can trick Bitcoin core developers and get this huge chunk of money.  Grin  If he wants to make people believe that he is really the Satoshi, he should have more convincing proofs for it. But it is obvious that he has nothing to do with the real Satoshi.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So lets talk honest now about btc on: March 19, 2021, 10:06:39 PM
You can't expect to get rich by investing into Bitcoin in a very short time. Things in this market don't work like that. Then, we must be seeing every investors as rich people now.  Grin  When we say BTC, the first thing comes to one's mind is HODLing of course. The thing you need the most is patience. Maybe you will wait for at least 5 years to make a great profit but there is guarantee for getting rich also. It also depends on how much money you think of investing. But you shouldn't forget there are always risks even for Bitcoin as it is a very volatile crypto also. You should allocate an amount of money that you won't have any doubts for risking it.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Lightning Network challenge VISA someday? on: March 19, 2021, 09:40:02 PM
As the Lightning Network means also 'Bitcoin', it really depends on the development of Bitcoin for Lightning Network to be able to challenge VISA in the future. I know that it seems like very hard for now but it is not impossible. Because Bitcoin has come a very long way so far and its value is so much bigger than its first years in the market. It proves that we could see Bitcoin and the Lightning Network at a much higher and better place in time.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 19, 2021, 09:32:55 PM
When it comes to the main question that is "Does Bitcoin make a person's life better?", it can actually. First of all, Bitcoin is an investment tool and also a medium of exchange that you can use it for buying something etc. . If you invest in it and be patient, you could make a great deal of profit and it will absolutely make your life much better than before depending on the profit amount.  Grin
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have concluded that all governments together can't stop bitcoin on: March 18, 2021, 10:40:04 PM
I get to be thinking what about all the government of the world unite and decide to stop bitcoin and cryptocurrency ?  Grin

I have wondered if this is possible to happen despite bitcoin being decentralized. Within me, I don't think that is no more possible because bitcoin is now unstoppable. Just like water is to the fish, bitcoin is the light of the earth.

What do you say yourself ?

We have seen many times that the prices of cryptocurrencies can easily be manipulated in both ways. But it is of course not the same thing with stopping it completely. I think that they can't be stopped even with the bans. Besides, I've heard many people were still using BTC despite its being banned in their country. Instead of searching ways for stopping it, governments can regulate them logically and things could be better for the users and the governments both.
