281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I feel really low... on: December 30, 2013, 04:15:47 AM
There hasn't been a coin released in over 12 hours. I feel sad.
 Embarrassed

okay, i help you

BeerCoin  released NOW!

go to the refrigerator, download your beerbottle

open it with  -bottleopener

setup your  couch.conf

use the integrated hole in the bottle to start mining

after 5+ bottles (blocks) you will see an effect in your wallet

happy mining!
Took your advice, 2 1/2 hours later I feel the effects of mining a not so worthy beer, starting to think I need new hardware and also a beer to mine that has a higher reward  Wink
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To all new coin creators. If we can't mine it we don't want it. on: December 30, 2013, 04:08:11 AM
Miners' attitude kind of drives away business, y'know.

Even making it darn near free for them to mine a coin doesn't get them on board so coming up with technology that does not need miners at all becomes a necessity.

Long long ago CDN, MBC, UKB, UNS, NKL and so on moved away from using blockchains - moved away from using/needing miners - because it became clear that even bending over backward to accomodate miners by making a coin capable of being merged-mined right alongside Bitcoin using the same hashing power the miner is already using was not going to work, was not going to adequately secure the blockchains.

Bending over backwards isn't enough for the miners, it seems; they require everyone to bend over forwards instead. So to speak. Cheesy

Miners evidently cannot be relied upon to do their part in securing blockchains even given merged mining; even though the marginal cost of merging a few more chains is almost negligible.

Miners thus became a big liability that blockchains accrue, making it more and more necessary to find alternative methods of securing ledgers / consensus.

283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bernankoin the Coin to save our economy - QE3 underway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: December 30, 2013, 03:57:43 AM
It would be interesting to see what kind of things happen to the price of this coin if it were to hit an exchange.

I see lots of sell offers now, but I wouldn't imagine there are many buyers in the market as the way rewards are given this completely removes the desire for speculative holding.
Yup, speculative holding kind of does not make any sense right now, unless you are easily printing it speculating that it will gain value, and/or you have a belief that the quantitative easing used by central banks is working to bring value to the such & such currency and/or economy they are printing it for.

I hope an economist weighs in with why this is different than the $, £ or what have you issued by a central bank.

288  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paying Bitcoins for people to test and give feedback for my first Java game! on: December 28, 2013, 11:13:58 PM
Well the borg cubes shoot while off screen and i can kill them while they are there wish more of my killing could be done on screen, I got a score of 675 after being told a hundred times you saw the whole thing, loaded a score of 405 I did not know when my score was done loading cause the text "loading" stayed at the bottom of screen, it froze up on me once so i thought I passed the level had to close and restart (first game I have played on this old pc), hmm all in all it seems like a easy enough game to learn what to do, I was disappointed that i had no shields, i might have to come back to it to try to get the high score, difficulty is not so bad considering it is just one level of a game
fullscreen option would be good.
bring the next levels

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WUBS] DubstepCoin - WUBWUBWUB on: December 28, 2013, 08:26:52 PM
Bury it and it will arise from the dead I think, which is ok cause I have been waiting to see some more zombie coins, I think a coin like this would bring more cryptocoin users to the field to play, who knows maybe some more innovation.

[Edit] dang it, I knew it was going to rise from being assumed dead, good luck on monday  Cool
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tips For Launching a New Coin on: December 28, 2013, 08:16:38 PM
I hope some of the new devs take some of your advice, bitcoin may have the most support now but your right, in time something may rise to take its place, it might just be a meme who is to say? Always room for competition, take Bing Search for example=way late to the game but seems to be gaining some traction.

Sub boards for alternatives might be a lost cause, i would suggest a sticky with links to other forums, most serious coins develop their own community.

Bitshares (Protoshares) announced launch months in advance, seemed to be a very successful approach, i would suggest giving as much notice as possible, I might also suggest that in advance of launch it be posted to as many possible crypto forums that someone could reach,QRK Forums, SBC, FTC, LTC, etc.

Lets be realistic with premine, if it is supported by the developers they essentially deserve some type of compensation, nobody is paying them to help them setup in windows etc.

Support 24/7, from my short period of time here I have developed the idea that support needs to be 24/7 to really boost adoption, not just a supporting community but the team of developers needs to be hands on to encourage others that the coin will succeed.

I would like to mine a new coin with a good future before its ripped away from my grasp by the experienced well setup miners, so good luck to your team.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WUBS] DubstepCoin - WUBWUBWUB on: December 28, 2013, 07:39:34 PM

Bwahahaha! I hope this coin takes main stage like doge did for a week.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is thinking of lauching a new coin ? on: December 28, 2013, 07:29:50 PM
I believe that coin name has all to do with marketing but I could be wrong also......so I thought I could get a team here who is already thinking of some new coin to launch

Nothing else really ...

But if you feel like posting jokes why not

I am used to deal with humans who are spoiling their dogs which makes the dog totally crazy !!! and then they call me to resolve the issue

Feel free to post whatever you want until I find the good team ..

Live a wonderful day !!

Marketing was a big thing for doge, 2 months ago innovation was the focus, now I think that tradeable or spendable is a way to go with a coin, if someone put $20,000 into products that the community would be interested in, marked it up 60 % or whatever built a coin that would be accepted by a website selling the products, that coin would instantly have value, build a trade platform so users could buy or sell, sell your coins there to recover your cost's and replenish inventory-expand- very quickly I think you would have a successful coin and thriving business.

296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Option request] Ignore all the animalcoins on: December 28, 2013, 05:27:50 PM
Pls add this feature. I'd love to save my sanity.
The last month has been nuts huh? but now you have quickcoin  and this coin and that coin, and I even want to launch a damn coin cause it seems everyone is doing it, don't want to be left out, good thing I did not read the step by step cloning instructions, would not be able to help myself, launch date and time 1-1-2014 12:00 est in the U.S. right after the rest of the world passes out or is tipping the champagne glass and watching Times Square ball drop, ha! best time ever to launch!  Grin

Option's to remove selected thread would work too.
297  Other / Off-topic / Re: Signature Advertising on: December 28, 2013, 04:53:32 PM
I think people tend to tip a lot more in different alt coins. I've seen a few people overjoyed at their mysterious doge and sexcoin tips haha.

Don't know much about those coins. There was a Litecoin giveaway here, as late as this September. Even I got a few coins (I think he was giving 0.1 each).  Grin

Yeah, doubt you'd get any Litecoins now. They can be profitable and that's what a lot of people hope for, but more often than not they're still practically worthless or at the most worth very little.

Lol, ya for now the altcoins are practically worthless, I give away thousands of some of them, use em for tips for other alt collectors, always someone giving away altcoins overthere.

Then the arguer says.. "In the Uk there are lots of immigrants that come into the country and dont work and they are given shelter and assistance." The arguer spoke as if every single immigrant in the UK did not work and just is basically sucking the life out the land and its ok!   << ---  wtf!

Don't listen to propaganda peddled by racist plebs. I have to hear this kinda of misinformation every day by people white british people who are themselves on benefits.

I agree that the system's wrong and it needs changing. In this country you can get pretty much everything for free if you so wish to play the system.

lol yeah, I'm in the UK and you get those kind of racist morons everywhere, what they're saying is it's okay if you play the system as long as you're white, I'm getting sick of people who think they can ignore basic mathematics especially when I'm taking the time to learn it all properly. The best one is the government departments and public unions in this country, essentially their message is "Yes we agree that we need to make budget cuts to bring down the debt, no you can't do it to us" and they all say exactly the same thing which does actually make me feel sorry for the politicians in this country.

I am seriously considering denouncing my citizenship and moving to a country with a low tax rate.

I have a love/hate relationship with this country. I love how we have free healthcare and a pretty decent/safe quality of life, but I hate how it's full of ignorant plebs and run by elitist thieving scum who do nothing but launder tax-payers money.

I'd like to fuck off and live somewhere else, but I'm sure I'd get homesick. England is still my home as much as it frustrates me.

Let's get something straight.

I am a non-EU migrant in the UK. You have no idea how hard it was to get my work permit.

I work, I pay tax, I have no access to public funds, no benefits, no housing, etc, etc.

I have to work for THE employer who hired me for the work permit, no one else, and if I stop working I will get deported.

When these racist morons babel on about welfare tourism by immigrants, they are only describing some EU migrants but most of them don't realise the difference.

Eating it up, ya know the media has you targeted as a freeloader and protected by international law, they do not describe your struggle and the UK appears to have a strong stance against you, they are either unwilling to recognize how you contribute, or, your contribution is not enough when compared to their standards, keep your head down and do the work they obviously do not want to do, in the meantime you might think of migrating again, come to the U.S where our society is a little harder on you but on the upside, you can have a little freedom.

May be one day I will go somewhere, still young.

Here is another joke for you. I have been in the UK for 12 years!

Haha! Live a little, my friends here now start to celebrate the years they have been here, kind of like a Birthday, i don't get it, live there but travel if that's what you like, myself... I would trade you places.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ** The REAL Reason Quark is the MOST Popular Coin now & Why it's Under Attack ** on: December 28, 2013, 08:24:32 AM
I know why the mining community dont like quark, because there is not much to mine anymore after 6 months

Why would miners want to secure the blockchain if its already been stripmined?

From an economical supply point of view getting a large number of units out pretty quick and then changing to 0,5 % annual supply inflation is a good idea, much less supply inflation after 6 months then all the other coins.

However it might all fall apart when the hash rate drops after 6 months because miners not making enough money mining quark to pay for electricity, (unless the price of quark jumps high enough ofcourse.)

Either the devs made a serious mistake IMHO, or this is just an instamine scheme on purpose.
I still have faith in the little qrk. bets are it drops for a bit, but now its distribution is wide and when it drops people will forget they have it and others will think that the people that forgot about it are holding, its a coin that can be spent so it has value, if others are holding you will probably get the idea it is being held cause they deem it to be valuable, although in the most part those holding do not want to waste their time trading it, meanwhile believers continue to promote it, get merchants to accept it, etc. etc.
IMO qrk is here to stay, maybe it is the bronze beneath ltc, but it is not going anywhere, it has asserted its place among other crypto's with a likeness to ... lets say yahoo among email providers, I will throw some hashes at it when it is possible for the small guy to earn something for it.
