281  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Casino! on: January 29, 2020, 10:44:18 AM
I doubt that a lot of people will deposit to your site unless you are willing to show that you're legitimate first.

And that may involve having to escrow funds in some middleman's account to ensure that the house has sufficient money to pay out at least some wins. It would give a lot more people confidence in your product given that you're offering some extravagant bonuses and free spins (which I'm sure will come with some extravagant terms to be met, as well Tongue)

Good luck though, if you are legit.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ETH-based descentralized casinos on: January 29, 2020, 10:34:39 AM
There are already solutions. However, I'd say that none of them currently are as popular as their centralized counterparts.

It's simply because having a central entity helps in the sense that essentially, you are able to create a community much better. Sure, a decentralized alternative may see better house edges or odds or whatnot, but it lacks the feel of a true casino - it's just you versus a script, with no one watching.

There's barely any promos, games & rounds, etc. which explains the lack of success that these decentralized sites/tokens have.

285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still confusing. Economic/War crisis vs Damand. Which one is to boost Bitcoin$? on: January 27, 2020, 03:00:16 AM

Bitcoin prices sometimes soars so high due to certain matter like speech from a figure.

or

It just sometimes soars without any issue.

Which is the frequent factor? or maybe not both?

You're absolutely right. Sometimes, there are just random movements within the market that people try to attribute to certain events that have virtually no correlation with the price hike/dump. In that sense, there is a lot of noise within the market, especially in the short run, that have a substantial effect on price movement.

For instance, a whale could simply be deciding one day that he wants to load up on a position, and his buys could influence others within the market to take on a similar position.

There is nothing that is predictable about that, nor should it be attributed to bitcoin news of that particular day.

But there are certain news, such as regulations, especially in big crypto countries like China that USED TO have a much bigger impact on the wider markets. However, with the markets now more mature, I doubt that the effect will be as pronounced if there were to be further restrictions on regulation.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The World’s Most Crypto-friendly Countries on: January 27, 2020, 02:40:22 AM
For now, it seems like that Panama and Malta are two of the biggest destinations for offshore companies to incorporate in. Panama being the country of choice for derivative exchanges such as Deribit, which will be moving there very soon next month, and Malta for a lot of spot exchanges such as Binance.

I do think that there is a benefit to having positive regulation towards bitcoin and crypto overall, rather than trying to drive it out of the economy.

It makes no sense to do the latter because you're literally just forgoing government revenue in the regulated space and there is no enforceability to any restrictions, since crypto is vastly decentralized.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FortuneJack Withdrawal Problems? on: January 27, 2020, 01:56:06 AM
Ok i open allready Dispute at askgamblers we will see what and when give News.. will update you soon . Thanks for your answeres and your Help Guys
Patience is the key after all. I already heard delays problem cases of withdrawal on Fortunejack but after all, those are solved and everything will fine. Probably it will the same cases as yours but you need to have long your patient. Remember that we are on the weekend and last day a Chinese New year maybe one of their staff is Chinese. Hopefully, you will understand and learn to wait.

I think is easy to talk i learn to wait, when 4.8 BTC is not yours Wink .

I will see you when you have a Withdrawal from 41 000 $ and you wait since 3 days ...

This is definitely not your fault.

You should consider launching a scam accusation against them on the subforum if you haven't already, and obviously launch a dispute in whatever avenue possible. The large sum combined with the 3 day halt in withdrawals seems to be sufficient evidence to point towards potential foul play here, with them holding funds for an unnecessarily long time.

As a player, this is the worst nightmare, but always a possibility when it comes to these centralized sites.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is the World’s Best Performing Asset Class on: January 27, 2020, 01:20:25 AM
All this talk is quite futile.

We know what crypto's performance has been the past few years/decade but that is entirely justified, as known by all rational investors. It's not hard to have gains in the thousands of percentage points regularly when BTC started out with a very small market cap and very good fundamentals to which the price was obviously undervalued to.

These sort of astronomical gains are improbable to follow past trends due to the maturity of the market now. Anyhow, it is much more productive to focus on improving bitcoin's fundamentals, such as adoption, rather than have short term gains on it.

If you’re not willing to wait for your account to be activated, you can withdraw your bitcoins by deleting your account.

This is the glimmer of hope for most users here. At least they have presented them with an option to deactivate their accounts and withdraw their funds from the platform altogether. I wonder though what happens to unverified accounts - are they still able to withdraw funds while remaining anonymous are are they forced to jump through the KYC hoops before they are actually able to withdraw?

But yeah, this case just shows how fragile centralized platforms can be, even when it comes to the likes of LBC which was previously known for its anonymity and upholding the privacy of the users.

Now, regulatory pressures are mounting. o_e_l_e_o put it best. Use centralized exchanges at your own risk, and treat it as a transitory space for your coins, not a wallet.
291  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is bitrex exchange cheater on: January 26, 2020, 11:45:28 AM
You can hardly blame an exchange for what regulators choose to impose on them.

I mean, even if there isn't explicit bans, there are implicit sanctions that certain jurisdictions impose on others and they expect regulated entities/exchanges to follow their line of policy. Iran, for example, is one such country that is constantly being excluded in the ToS of crypto exchanges, including LBC.

Bittrex is definitely not the best crypto exchange out there and is past its heyday, but this is not their own fault necessarily. They should definitely try co-operate with the users to get their funds out, though.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypt is now legal in Ukraine on: January 26, 2020, 11:14:31 AM
I doubt that introduction of regulation like this is necessarily a win.

The cost of such regulation comes at the expense of futile restrictions that discourage adoption in the most grassroot sense. It is also quite unreasonable to say that it's "legalized", when previously the use of crypto or holding crypto was never explicitly outlawed by legislation in the first place.

It's non-news, really. Fundamentally, this changes just about nothing around the cryptospace.
293  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2020-01-25] Coinbase's Bitcoin Holdings Could Surpass 1 Million BTC Next Month on: January 26, 2020, 09:38:11 AM
This is NOT good news.

This is no different than having 1 million bitcoins under the control of a bank, which can be very easily be surrendered to the government as assets of a regulated financial entity.

Also, this just increases the risk of a potential hack within Coinbase's systems as it raises the stakes to a much higher level - a hack, even though it is a remote possibility, can bring about severe systemic damage to the BTC markets in the short term and to BTC's reputation as well.

would you recommend holistically Bitmex or Deribit for trading?

For a beginner/intermediate trader I'd say that Deribit is probably better.

You have sufficient liquidity most of the time on the orderbooks (goes without saying that Bitmex is still king in this area, though) and you can find answers very easily by asking questions on Telegram. Their withdrawals are also instant, while Bitmex you need to wait for up to a day potentially.

Also, AFAIK deribit has spontaneous funding rates which means that there is no major market disruption every time the designated funding time for positions comes close. That provides more continuity in your position compared to Bitmex's intervals.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Betting on player stats? on: January 25, 2020, 12:13:57 PM
What are some good places to bet on player statistics in the NBA with crypto?

I know that Nitrogen offers some lines but AFAIK very occasionally. Are there better options out there in terms of the level of comprehensiveness in covering all player statistical categories and options for players?

Fantasy bball seems to be a proxy way of doing this but I'd like to bet directly, if possible.

Thank you!
296  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] freebitco.in ? on: January 25, 2020, 09:12:36 AM
It is probably an honest error. I don't see why they should be scamming people out of measly 1mBTCs when they are making much more in both advertising revenue as well as their crazy high house edge on their dice games.

As others have said, wait for TheQuin's response. Perhaps post in their ANN thread as well as their games and round thread for big winners. Based on their historical track record as well as the recency of paying out big wins, I don't doubt that you'll reach a resolution.

Freebitco.in is one of the classic sites, and for the time being I do refuse to believe that they have ill intentions.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India Central Bank Says It Hasn’t Banned Crypto on: January 25, 2020, 08:41:21 AM
I'm not sure why people keep on keeping on with their misconception of the actions of the RBI. It was never a ban to begin with. All that it was is a restriction placed on banks and other financial entities on transacting with crypto related transactions, that is all. It is still perfectly legal (albeit, discouraged by the government for sure) to hold and trade BTC on a p2p market.

The damage that is done is mostly in the regulated crypto businesses, whom depend on supportive legislation to keep in business. That's why you see Zebpay and others moving out of India.

I would argue that this is not a very wise move to make given the loss in revenue and potential future growth that this crypto sector can bring to the Indian economy. But hey, there's nothing we can do about it.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will NOT surpass traditional methods of payment. Convince me. on: January 25, 2020, 08:19:03 AM
I think that the most likely scenario for bitcoin is that it will continue to coexist and play an increasing role in terms of facilitating transactions.

However, it is very difficult to see that one day BTC is able to actually surpass or replace fiat per se. That will take much more than just BTC adoption, because of the fact that the government and central banks around the world have a firm grip over monetary policy that they wouldn't just easily give up.

I'm not overly optimistic and saying that BTC will replace fiat like a lot of others are, but I'm certainly not bearish on BTC in the long run either.
299  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain fee and alternatives on: January 24, 2020, 02:19:05 AM
Hello,

i´m still "new" in this btc world and i was wondering what should i choose when i send from blockchain example for an amount of 200-600$
we have the option to choose the fee

and are there good alternatives like blockchain (wallet/trading site) with low fee´s where you don´t have to verify your account...

Getting a bitcoin address is completely free and anonymous for anyone. You can get one from using electrum.

I'm honestly not sure about what your question is. But I assume that it's got to do with setting your own fees.

Yes, it is possible to set the fee level to whatever you want. You could actually send a completely fee free transaction, whether or not anyone will be willing to include that transaction in their block is a completely different question though.

Essentially there is a trade off between confirmation speed and price. In this current climate, where there isn't a lot of unconfirmed tx's in the mempool, it is entirely possible to get by with 1-5 sats per byte if you're willing to wait hours/days for your transaction, i.e. it's not urgent.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub Adds Tether Stablecoin as New Crypto Payment Option on: January 24, 2020, 01:39:56 AM
It's completely irrelevant news. I don't understand why anyone would be talking about this.

Their move initially to accept BTC was solely in response to the fact that Paypal has decided to not provide them with their services or them voluntarily abandoning paypal as a payment system (The former seems to be the case), so there is really no other choice for them in terms of online payments, other than credit/debit cards.

Whether or not Tether is being accepted is quite irrelevant to the fundamentals of the cryptospace.
