MATIC wins out over TRON if you are tossing up between the two options.

If you are purely looking to transact value, I've iterated this before but I'll say it again - IOTA/Nano is the clear winner because they allow you to send funds for literally no fee whatsoever.

But if you are looking for DeFi applications, MATIC wins because it has a lot of DeFi protocols within its ecosystem and they had huge incentives to attract liquidity. TRON is archaic in this manner.

Had a few pieces of advice that pretty much will apply to any investment in the crypto space:

1. Look at the initial distribution.

Was there a huge premine that goes to some sort of centralized foundation? That shouldn't be a dealbreaker, but if the foundation is not doing anything with the funds and just holding onto billions of dollars of tokens, then that becomes an issue.

2. Look at community engagement. Has there been active discussion on Reddit/Discord?

3. Look at the devs/team. Are they known previously? Are they anonymous? Not any one of these metrics should be used to be the deciding factor, but too many negatives would ring alarm bells for me.

I think that is way too much unless your monthly income is $10k+.

You shouldn't allocate more than 5% of your income to gambling. You should treat it as an expense because you are mathematically guaranteed to lose it all given that you play with the funds for long enough.

Would you spend $200 a month on movie tickets?

Probably not.

Historically bitcoin bear markets have seen drawdowns of 60-70% from the peak of the market cycle, so right now I think that there is still some way to go.

It would be very wise, however, for anyone looking to get into crypto for the long run to get in at a price below $40k. You have very little downside but tons of upside potential, and the next halving cycle is just 4 years away.

Let me start by saying that I don't think that it's a great idea to put money into meme coins right now.

When a bear market starts, people generally flock to safer investments such as BTC and ETH which have stood the test of time. The risky assets that were the darlings of the bull run will not perform as well as they have during that period of bullishness.

But if you were really looking for one, I'd say Floki Inu has some potential as it has influencer backing. Don't touch the other ones.

This is just one year.

Metaverse was the buzzword for 2021, but I think that as we move forward, more people will realize that metaverses are completely impractical and as a result will see very little adoption / have very little value.

A lot of the coins that was listed have no direct link to metaverses either, e.g. FTM and SOL are more known for DeFi applications rather than metaverse technology. But I'd say watch for a pullback in this space very soon.

I think out of everything here, Avalanche probably has the most potential.

The Terra ecosystem is very interesting but I don't think that it's going to go anywhere in the long term, there are simply way better alternatives out there that are up and coming.

Polygon is a good short term scaling solution for ETH but at the end of the day the Layer 1 ETH network has to be scaled itself for Ethereum to succeed, so as soon as ETH2.0 rolls around I think that MATIC will take a big hit.

And I believe that Lakers have one of the toughest schedules remaining going ahead in the NBA season, so that certainly does not help either.

LeBron in Year 19 should not have to average career numbers in order to just win games.

But I guess that is what the Lakers signed up to when they signed AD and Westbrook - they can work great when hot, but when they don't work, it's either going to be AD out for injuries or Russ making braindead moves which does not help.

The whole idea of VR/metaverse gaming has been overhyped in my opinion.

The real innovation is going to come from mostly centralized sources and they are not going to be decentralized just because of how prohibitively high the fees are right now to make transactions on most blockchains.

Plus, do you really think that gamblers have the patience to set up their own wallet etc. and wait for transaction confirmations each time just to play?

There are great hedge funds that outperform in the long run, like Rennaisance Technologies managed by Jim Simons.

But the vast majority just return market returns over the long run before-fees and therefore below market returns after-fees. The hedge fund format is definitely outdated and needs to include more asset classes than just the traditional long-short equity-bond portfolio, but I don't think that day traders can do better than them on an after-fee basis in the long term either.

Almost all of the savings will quickly dissipate as spending within the economy in the next year.

I'm honestly not sure what Powell is thinking with QE, it's just not going to work alongside rampant inflation and probably will achieve the opposite effect given that markets generally tank whenever there are rumors that inflation will edge higher in the next quarter.

But this is precisely the reason why we need more than one central party in control of the money supply. $1.6 trillion is no joke and money supply keeps going up. Most of this just ends up in the pockets of the wealthy.

Just ring your bank and ask them about a crypto purchase that you are going to undertake. See their reaction and you'll understand that they are fearful of the change.

I think though that a lot of bank employees are conditioned by the higher-ups to see cryptos as some sort of threat, and they just take it on blindly because they don't really understand the technology that is underlying bitcoin and other decentralized currencies. If more education is given to these people about this matter, their attitudes could seriously change.

It honestly depends on where you live and what your expenses are, though.

If you live in a super cheap country with insanely low living expenses you may be able to get away with playing with $100-200 per month, whereas if you live somewhere that is a bit more expensive you may not want to set aside anything for entertainment at all.

I also don't think that it's healthy to set a steady budget for gambling each month. Have a cap on your gaming volume but don't necessarily commit funds to it regularly.

Because a lot of people I know would rather get much better odds on betting exchanges instead of going on a centralized platform like Stake.

I personally believe so.

I think that the markets have turned quite bearish, especially with ETH dropping faster than BTC in the past day which is definitely not a great sign for everyone involved in DeFi and Metaverse projects that are using ETH as a basis.

Deleverage and derisk is my mantra right now and I think that most people should do the same - you shouldn't be putting money into any margin positions, no matter how high your conviction is, because alts can stay undervalued longer than you can stay solvent.

I'm expecting there to be a significant pullback (which is happening right now, as we speak).

People have gotten way too over-optimistic about the crypto market, and the whole crypto space is quite overleveraged right now in my opinion. BTC I'm expecting to retrace under $40k before any significant bounce.

Plus, the halving cycle would suggest that the timing is also not the best for this coming year to be a bull market - usually we have a bull cycle end around 2 years after the halving (2020).

DAO will definitely be the solution in my opinion.

There are so many insurance frauds in recent days and decentralizing the whole industry just makes a lot more sense to ensure that fraud is kept to a minimum and any insurance claims are processed in a fair and reasonable manner.

Although, there needs to be a good protocol that comes out that allows this to occur, because security of funds is definitely one of the foremost concerns on everyone's mind when participating in a DAO of this nature.

Klay definitely does have the star mentality, it's just that he can also thrive in situations where he is not the primary ball handler, which is why he is so valuable.

There are tons of divas out there that proclaim to have a "star mentality" but simply can't play with others without generating conflict. Kyrie and Harden are probably great examples of this type and it's certainly not desirable.

You'll find that equity raisings rarely make any sense in terms of valuations, and it's probably worse than any crypto right now.

Theranos is one of the prime examples, along with Enron.

Accounting statements as well as the actual technology used within the company can all be forged with enough sophistication and courage, and there is certainly no shortage of bad actors looking to exploit these loopholes.

They will probably look to pushing out their own CBDC much quicker than anticipated as a result of this.

This is one of the reasons why fiat is flawed, though.

All of the control to restrict access to a particular sector of the monetary system resides within the hands of one central entity, and it's just not going to be effective that way in the long run.

On top of CBDCs, hopefully Russia looks to expand their presence in the decentralized crypto space as well.
