Ci ho capito qualcosa. Forse metà della metà che sarebbe necessario capirne.
Forse il fatto che non abbia capito granché è che non mi pare uno scandalo se flottano la mempool con le loro transazioni, ma forse non sono abbastanza massimalista per indignarmi.

Purtroppo l’unico aspetto rispetto al quale il bitcoin deve dimostrare la superiorità nei confronti dell’oro è proprio la durabilità nel tempo.
E sicuramente il fatto di avere un protocollo non ancora ossificato influisce su questa possibilità.

Almeno fino a quando il protocollo sarà definito “stabile” temo che quello che chiedi rimanga una chimera: sei sempre a “rischio” che una BIP posteriore renda i tuoi UTXO inservibili (possibilità remotissima).
Comunque tutte le custodie presuppongono un minimo di manutenzione, financo la sepoltura dell’oro nel giardino.

Riguardo al grafico, condivido lo spirito appieno, ma ho due osservazioni:

• La scala: siamo scesi da 3.2 milioni a 2.2 milioni. La riduzione c'è stata, ma non siamo a zero come il grafico. vorrebbe fare sembrare.
• LA gente ha capito come fare self custody, a questo attribuisco la discesa dei depositi (e non ai giochetti da degen. Quindi in caso di vendita, qui depositi possono essere rialimentati molto, ma molto velocemente.

Comunque ripeto, vedere i CEX in "ristrettezze" non fa che piacere.

Come descritto bene nel thread che ti ho allegato, non esiste la certezza matematica che tutto sarà perfettamente funzionante tra 100 anni.
Direi però che si può fare un pò di "manutenzione" ai seed, se si vede che un nuovo standard si sta imponendo, in modo da prolungare la vita del backup.
Direi che comunque esisterà nei decenni futuri il modo di usare iancoleman, e se un giorno dovesse sparire, credo che verrebbe "automatico" updatare coerentemente i seed.

Buona l'idea di stampare lo standard su una rondella, non ci avevo pensato in effetti.

Grayscale finally announced the fee rate on their Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF: they are offering a very competitive 0.15% fee ratio.


The SEC filing also showed they seeded the funds with 63,204 Bitcoin.

This was is a huge amount, almost 10% of total funds. So I think they are going to “airdrop” this to their current customers.
Of course, this will act as a de facto fee reduction of almost 9%, as, of course, this switch event won’t be taxable.
So I guess the outflows from GBTC will go on in the future, but at least there will be a lesser outflow from broad Grayscale products.
