The US isn't a democracy; its a republic.

I knew someone would say that WinkSmiley

Or-- Eleuthria:
you could become truly "the other Deepbit" -- and offer all the methods -- then do as Tycho did today and let newbies know at what point they should change from one to the other (see today's thread at same in forums)

I still think that you should bring back full round stats for people donating over a certain percentage.

oh yeah -- 580 BTC should be seen in terms of its opportunity cost, not just averaged BTC value.

and as for that member who is fond of butts -- tend to your own after you hurt it some more waiting for simplecoin.us to bring you any of the returns of BTCguild. ;-)

I got a 1btc bonus for finding a block today there! I would have gotten 0 bonus at BTCGuild Wink.

If you bring back stats for anyone, you can set up a cpu miner or some such and set it to 10% donate, and then just read the data from that with your other 42 GHash/s

But I am sure you already figured that out Wink

It sounds like the pool hoppers are butt hurt.

There are other pools out there if you don't like it. I applaud the change personally,  and my measly 3.5 GHash/sec will be back after this weekend (which I said I would put towards simplecoin.us).

I also have almost no stales here as well.

Thanks SC for all you do!

I hope your pool grows to far larger than it was before you shut it down for a couple weeks!!

You are off by an hour I think.

Anyway, I think if we are not 136583 then we pulled an invalid.
289  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~8GHs] SIMPLECOIN.US - 3 BTC Bonus this round - 0%/JSON/SSL/LP/Opensource on: July 16, 2011, 06:06:59 PM
That's also a deepbit block.
290  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~8GHs] SIMPLECOIN.US - 3 BTC Bonus this round - 0%/JSON/SSL/LP/Opensource on: July 16, 2011, 06:01:00 PM
Although, there is no reason to have an invalid block at 11:40 Huh

The last block before that was found over 15 min in the past. If that is the case something is REALLY wrong.

Hopefully somehow that clock was just really really wrong.

I am still holding out hope that we are 136583 Wink

Why aren't you mining here?!?!? Wink

Hey eleuthria, when you first installed the "super-server" my stale share rate went from ~2.5% to ~1% Grin, but during the last few days my stale share rate has consistently been ~10% Sad.  Do you have any ideas what could have happened to cause this?  I was not at home when it first started so I don't believe it was caused by a change I made, but I am open to any suggestions because I don't want to leave your pool. Wink

P.S. Are you still planning on implementing difficulty two shares? Huh I was really looking forward to those before the DDOS happened. Cry

P.P.S I'm running poclbm through guiminer on a windows7 system.

Thanks for every thing eleuthria! Smiley Cheesy Grin Shocked

OK, i give up.  what is   "difficulty two shares"

Basically instead of solving bitcoin difficulty 1.5 million, which is what we are actually trying to do, a share is when you solve a hash with difficulty 2.

Since we are getting double credit for each share, we should in theory find the block after 1.5 million shares are found (or 750,000 hashes of diff 2 are done).

That is how I understand it anyway. Feel free to correct me!

Deepbit is claiming the exact same block we are. Maybe we are 136583??

 Huh Huh Huh
294  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~8GHs] SIMPLECOIN.US - 3 BTC Bonus this round - 0%/JSON/SSL/LP/Opensource on: July 16, 2011, 05:45:56 PM
Look at block explorer:

136584   35ac219a1a...   2011-07-16 15:24:22   1   50                   0.216
136583   1d7635c503...   2011-07-16 15:24:22   61   1784.05664625   24.966

It says the block we found has 1 transaction (the generate) and we found it in 0 seconds?!!

Oh I do!

It looks like it broke the UI on the page though. I hope it was us and we keep it!!

I don't see that?!

Really, Huh I thought eleuthria said when he implemented difficulty two shares that each share show up as two on the site and the site is still showing odd numbers of shares.
Yes I've restarted my miners.  I use a combination of a .bat file and task scheduler to restart my miners every half hour.
No I haven't updated guiminer recently but this version had been working just fine.

I would upgrade guiminer for no other reason than the newer versions of poclbm are significantly faster than they used to be (depending on how old your version is).

I believe that he did implement difficulty 2 shares quite a while ago.

Have you tried stopping and restarting your miners? Or getting the newest version of guiminer?
299  Economy / Goods / Re: Resin Bitcoins SOLD OUT!! :D on: July 16, 2011, 01:12:57 PM
After looking over the thread, it does seem that no one would actually go through all that work to scam people out of $300 or whatever it was.

This is pretty strange though.

Just one case with all of the extra fans currently installed in it.

Sorry for the confusion!
