Why the fuck does everyone yell its premined scam stolen 600 mil etc shit. If you have brain you fkin do some math. I got 1 mil coins in 30-45 mins from launch at 3 mhash. Imagine if 600 ppl were at multipool or even more !! Thats  simple math dont be stupid

If people here were actually any good at math they probably wouldn't be here in the first place.

Multipool hacked or defaced?

What the fuck. I'm seeing that too, minus the ads (Adblock I guess).

Lucky I already withdrew ~120k. I wonder if it was actually hacked/defaced or if they were trying to update the site during the Mooncoin launch? If so, they couldn't have picked a worse time.

Oh I finally got to see my stats on Multipool.

50k confirmed and another 82k unconfirmed at a combined total of a mere 377KH/s (that's with my shitty 670, i5 2500k and three Azure servers). Not bad in my opinion.

Though I have no idea how much that will be actually worth, but I'm gonna keep going anyway.

Hmm.. I haven't been able to access Multipool for almost 2 hours now. My browser just says 'No data received'.

Catcoin had an even worse launch and look where it is now.

I think I can safely say I'm going to stick with Mooncoin for a while.

It's working pretty well for me with Multipool now, thought the site itself is still dead.

Also it seems difficulty has already spiked to 16.

Thought I finally got a crap miner connected to Moon at Multipool but it turns out I am actually mining doge, what the fuck is the correct port for this shit coin.

If previous coins have taught me anything, giving up on a new coin at the very first sign of trouble is something that you'll just end up kicking yourself over.

OP is already mining on multipool which convienently does not have the pool address listed on this site.
Multipool's Mooncoin address is stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:3358

Actually I also wonder if you have to declare income or pay taxes from BTC trading (though it might be different for me since I'm Australian).

As I read your message you mine with GPU whitch is good for SHA-256 mining ,but not really good for scrypt mining for scrypt the CPU is best.
GPUs are still the best way to mine Scrypt, I'm doing just that with Dogecoin and Catcoin (Dogecoin is already out of the reach of CPU mining unless you've got a high-end CPU or multiple computers). Though there are a few coins that can only be mined with CPU really (I believe Primecoin is one).

With the lack of any Scrypt equivalent of ASIC miners, higher-end AMD cards are the only real way to mine most Scrypt coins. Even with my overlocked GTX 670 and i5 2500k I'm now struggling to reach a combined 350KH/s (with the CPU contributing a whole 27KH/s or so @4.7GHz).
290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So you're newbie, have you already bought BTC or are you waiting for a drop? on: December 25, 2013, 04:57:00 PM
I'm focusing more on Dogecoin at the moment (and perhaps Catcoin when it eventually gets onto an exchange, mining a few Catcoins now while the difficulty is low).

Depending on how it pans out I may start buying BTC and trading a little more seriously.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin ever be more than a joke? on: December 25, 2013, 04:28:43 PM
People laughed at Bitcoin when it first started out as well. Granted it wasn't based on a meme, but the meme factor may be exactly what keeps Dogecoin (and even Catcoin) going. Dogecoin has introduced a ton of people to Cryptocurrency that otherwise wouldn't have even wanted to know about it. I myself wasn't really interested in Bitcoins or any of the other coins until Dogecoin started up (even though I'm not a fan of the Doge meme), but now I actually understand some of the concepts behind Cryptocurrency.

Even if Dogecoin and other meme currencies only last for a short period, they'll still manage to bring an influx of new people into the community. And ultimately that's probably all that matters. Bitcoin and Litecoin are too mature and too wrapped up in their own desire to be taken seriously to attract many new people.
