under 13btc to 30k

Yeah, I noticed that too, though there seems to be a little bit of new Aeon flowing into the exchange and I'm sure that people who once bought in the hundreds of Satoshis wouldn't mind cashing out for a quick 8x gain on their super long shot they made a year ago.

Join us on the bid stack man!

Stay classy  Grin

I noticed after shuffling some bids around a few days ago that there was some pretty stiff competition between at least two (possibly more) bots on there.  The bots being used are pretty intelligent, but can still be beaten by a dedicated human for what it's worth.  Anyway, after realizing that the true price the bots were willing to pay was usually 20% to 25% above the average bid size I decided not to even play that game.  I've never run a trading bot, but I'm sure you can set it to be in either a predominantly buy or sell mode.  These were definitely set to acquire, as evidenced by their willingness to sling bids, leapfrog any bids set above, and absorb their bids as advertised vs. their reluctance to ever play the ask side of the equation and part with any of the Aeon they bought.  ( Wink I take some interest in poking around bid/ask stacks and testing out edge cases and limits on trading bots - it's a fun game to me)

Anyway, after feeling out the true price a little I chose to pay the premium and just absorb all "sell walls" that had been erected.

It also needs to be factored that the price of bitcoin is skyrocketing right now, and this is carrying the USD value of Aeon up with it.    Sad  Not sure how I feel about that.  This was labelled as a "Cryptonote alt" that was worth half a cent each in USD terms a month ago (as of the time of this topic creation) and is now approaching 3 cents each.  That's pretty crazy, a 600% real world increase with benefits and consequences for our community.

Finally, looking at the "max" chart, what the hell happened on the first day of Bittrex trading??.  Is this a glitch or on the first day Aeon was listed were there really over 20,000 bitcoins spent fighting over the comparitively small sum of 45k Aeon that was sold that day??

wow

how much aeon do you own

1% of the initial proposed emission.  This is all that I plan to acquire.  My plan is to hold the vast majority of this until such time that Aeon is either a spendable currency, or worthless.

Regardless, barring some unforeseen emergency, I can't see selling any of this until at least Aeon is worth $1.00 USD each (if that ever occurs).

Other than that, I'm just happy to be on the forefront of money and provide the Aeon with some real-world scarcity and value.

yes same here i see it going it higher but soon to be in 100k sats range
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: November 02, 2015, 12:05:01 AM
I'd like to bring up the subject of changing the tail Aeon emission.  If I should make a topic about this in the Altcoin section, I can do that.

I agree with Smooth that a fixed number is just as good as any other fixed number.  (0, 1, or infinity principle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_one_infinity_rule).  Therefore it makes no sense to change Aeon's tail emission to any other fixed number other than Monero's.

My proposal is that we already have a 'zero' tail-emission coin: Bitcoin.
We also already have a '1' tail-emission coin: Monero.

I suggest we consider making Aeon the first coin to embody the 'infinity' principle.  I am suggesting an inflationary tail emission.  We could either limit it to 1% or some other low number (such as Phi, 1.618%) or ask some mathematicians and economists what they believe the ideal inflation is for a currency intended to encourage spending.

I make this proposal after establishing a large position in Aeon, so that people realize that I am fully willing to be one of the one's primarily affected by the inflationary proposal.  I believe it will allow us to permanently incentivize miners with a pure PoW coin that will always have at least 1% per year to mine so that we don't have to ever worry about miners abandoning our network.

I believe there is a place in a global economy for assets of all three classes: deflationary, disinflationary, and inflationary.  The problem with fiat is not that it is inflationary; it is that its inflation can be adjusted manually to any number with only the consent of a small group at the head of the oligarchy.  If fiat had a perpetual and firm inflation rate it could continue to serve its intended function: to be a spendable currency.

Therefore I propose two things, in addition to using Aeon as a testbed for Cryptonote concepts: we change the tail emission of Aeon to be % that will enable actual (but very slow) inflation of the currency and we create a mission statement that Aeon aims to be a spendable ledger (vs merely a private store of value), and will incorporate new technologies of scale (as they are invented) that enable that purpose.

If you agree or disagree, feel free to make your opinion heard - especially if you are a developer, large miner, or large holder.  If you want to move the inflationary discussion to a separate topic, we can do that too.

Been watching Aeon, Seem like it's on the up, though all the sells now on trex are profit taking then it will likely crash I guess, Still I will dip the toe at some point

im in and waiting for the possible add to poloniex. it will really then put it on people radar expect a quick rise to 50k then slow rise past monero

297  Economy / Services / Re: recover text from word file on: October 25, 2015, 09:32:04 AM
Is the file corrupted? Is it a .doc or .docx file? Have you tried this feature in Word?

i tried this and some jumbled up letters come up with signs when i recover file text. the file is .docx

There are bunch of ways you can recover it or get the original text .Can you allow us to download the file so we can correct it and send it back to you?

i have other files that need recovering too so would prefer if i was told how to do it.

What did you do with the file in the first place Huh
Is it really important ?
I found this article http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/questions/how-to-repair-corrupt-ms-word-docx-and-doc-files-1/
Hope this helps Wink

i lost data on my hard drive so used a recovery software to recover it but word will open the file as it says its corrupt

error message reads the office open xml file cannot be opened because there are problems with its contents.

then in details it says the file is corrupt and cannot be opened

just to add im using ms office 2007
