WOW - I knew you will mod these 480M sooner or later!

What sorcery .... 6200h sgminer-gm XMR at 880 watt ~ 4amps !!!

And those temps -- are you for real? Amazing!

I can probably do better though..

Ha, yeah, have to admit, the panda is in a warehouse where it's around 5-10 degrees at this moment.

They're still low though, when running stock it was an average of 44 degrees, highest temp is now at 40 and lowest 31 Smiley.

Will post updates as soon as i can. Busy busy..

From the pictures - looks like the fans are also good quality.

And Philip said that they don't scream like the ones in Antminers.

Well the most important thing here is that undervolting is possible and temp reporting and controls are also working in Linux.

Claymore says he is prioritizing his XMR v10 miners so I hope much improvement for RX GPU support. Hope he release Linux build for v10.

The fans seem to be indeed of decent quality. This has to be seen in the longer run.

Temp reporting isn't really correct as it has no effect. The fans of the pandaminer are directly connected to the main board.

I'm pretty sure Claymore isn't going to release anything for linux anymore. Perhaps he will, but i don't think so..

Greetings!

Looks good, are those Chips from the GPU's soldered directly to the Pandaminer board or is it still a modular system with swappable cards ?

They're swappable Smiley

Small update.

Modified that rom (which was already modified, aka copied straps :p)

I added some custom timings to that and added vddc offset.

Result, so far only xmr

Stock Windows (their tests)

5890h using claymore so fee as well.. while consuming 1120 watt.

Mine, modified rom :Linux
-----------------------
6200h using sgminer so no fee while consuming 880 watt (4amp)  Grin

Yeah, was only running for 3minutes when i took it but it still going strong.
And those temps :p

here's a picture of my ampclamp  Cool

Flashing.... Smiley

if you are in Europe - how much they write on invoice? (because high VAT...)

If you have a company, are from europa and own a vat number, it'll be an intra-community delivery. In other words, no tax.

Greetings
I am from europe and i have VAT. Can you tell me price and where to buy one please ? Thank you.

Send me a pm.

Can you please elaborate on this? What settings? In BIOS/CMOS?
Is the 2nd HDMI connector connected to the onboard system or to one of the GPU?

Is the M.2 SSD slot limited to 42mm?

Can you confirm that there's 2 RAM slots?

Is Linux a straightforward install or is there anything we need to watch out for?

I just ordered 1 PandaMiner, had I seen your thread earlier I would have ordered more to save on shipping.  Cheesy

I'll try to put esxi on and enable GPU passthrough so I have the flexibility of switching OS quickly.

Of course.

Bios settings are a big factor yes.
Both HDMI jacks are connected to the mainboard, the mainboard is some sort of a pci switch.
So you'll have to change bios settings for both of them to work.

No, linux is not a straightforward install. There are several reasons for this and you'll see when you try Smiley

In this Internet and Bitcoin era....

... why cant we just download the image and pay in BTC?

... saves time, save counterparty charges, supports Bitcoin and blockchain.

Haha, if everything would just be so easy..

I'll think about it.. very hard..

Those are some nice temps.  How long has the miner been running in that screen shot and what is the ambient temp?

It's been running for exactly 3 hours and 26 minutes at this moment. Stable as a rock.

Temperatures: 36, 41, 40, 38, 40, 46, 46, 37. So an average of 40.

Greetings

Do you know how the Linux build compares to the Windows build as far as hash rate and power consumption?  Great news that you have Linux working already!  Grin

If you are going to do a Pandaminer build to sell any idea what it will cost and when it will be available in the US?

haven't really tested the windows build, but i'm doing around 215h per card (zcash) at this moment.
I do have to measure power though..

So far rock solid. Pretty pleased with this to be honest.

I've been thinking about a release for European people.. Simply because i'm european as well.

Shipping to the us would become to costly.  But obviously possible..

what was wrong with the HDMI ports?
Settings were all messed up Smiley

can you access BIOS?
Yes i can.

can plug a Linux boot thumb drive from USB?
Yes i can Smiley

I have a new hero!

I put your thread link here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1584973.new#new
Cheers!

I need a copy of that software  Grin

My windows build does not show temps or fan speeds.  his linux does

at op  I am doing around 1730h and 1062 watts  with an evga 1600 g2 psu.  and around  1200 watt with their stock gpu.

how much watts are you using for your 1696h?

The fans are full speed   and may be able to drop to 70%  which would really be good.

The unit has 9 fans at 10 watts each.  That comes to 90 watts since fans are full speed.

Lowering of the fans could save 30 watts.
I have no idea about the consumption right now. I will have more detailed info tomorrow.
Yes they are set at 100%, i can lower them though.. Temperature of the gpu's is around 40 degrees average at this moment.

greetings!

Edit: For updates and more info -> Here and scroll down..

Hey guys!

As i've mentioned earlier, i also ordered a pandaminer.

It arrived today! Yey.

I took the time to boot the original ssd into that awesome Chinese Windows 10 and it took me around 10 minutes to turn it off again and to replace that ssd with a new one.

Of course i played around with it and installed linux on it Smiley (ps. i also fixed both the hdmi outputs, both are working fine now)

Here are some pictures.

Will post power / speed results later. Will also fetch that rom and modify the hell out of it.. "later.. :p"

If this runs smooth for more than 2 days, i will consider making this commercial, i mean: the pandaminer modified with modified roms. (only europe "for now")..

Pictures: (i'm just posting the links because i hate the fact that pictures will make me have to scroll like a madman to get to the bottom of the page..)

They box :p

Messed around with it and running on linux Smiley

More info coming later!

You have to use windows because ATIFlash won't work even in Linux.

There's a linux atiflash out now. Has been for a while.

Party Pooper..

Ok, at first i wasn't directly planning on posting anything regarding this but oh well.

Anyhow, i ordered one myself.

I will obviously as i can't handle myself, get the roms of those mxm cards, modify them as hard and as stable as i can, meaning, custom timings, no copy pasting Wink, downvolting and last but not least, i'm going to put a linux os on this thing.

I will get mine (if everything is right) this monday.

I will report back with info and details.

Greetings!

that sounds great with your knowledge you could create here a real beast Smiley

We will see Smiley

Will most probably have results by the end of tomorrow (if they deliver on time Wink)

Greetings and have a great first day of the year!

XMR is the best mining option right now. 686 h/s on my Rx 480  Grin 1235/2145  Grin

810 h/s on stock clock and memory R9 390, undervolted -150mv Grin

815 on a 480 8G, clocks 1190/2100 and an undervolt of -62 Wink

Obviously not stock  Grin

What straps?

Custom, not just copy pasting..

Reality-check: NOT OK

I honestly do not want to give those a dollar who are lost in the "crypto-world", or rather lost their wive/girlfriend because of this..

@Claymore
After 9.2 release everything become crazy in my rigs. As you remember I reported to you 9.2 gave gpu0 hangs in all my rigs. Yesterday When I try to find a solution, I have a new problem too. 9.0 and 9.1 began to hang my system. But when I try to mine with 5 vga, there is no problem.( -di 01234 or -di 12345 or -di 02345 any combination less then 6 work without problem)
I can mine with 6 vga ethereum Claymore 7.4. I can mine zcash with 6 vga Claymore 8.0. I checked everything but I couldn't find a solution.

here what i do when things go south.

boot to safe mode. run ddu. reinstall fav drivers 15.12 for pre rx, 16.10.1 or so (NOT the 16.12.x) for rx or rx/r9 rigs.

9 times out of 10 it worked for me.

then use reflect free to make an image backup of the working OS install. goes into the weeds again, restore the image from reflects rescue disk/usb.
I always use ddu. This is really different problem.
rig1= works with 9.0 and 9.1 without problem.  9.2=  gpu0 hangs problem.
rig2= works with 9.0 and 9.1 without problem.  9.2 = gpu0 hangs problem.
rig3= system locks with 9.0 and 9.1 if I use more then 5 vga. ( This problem began yesterday. Before yesterday it has just problem with 9.2 like rig1 and rig2)  6 vga can mine zcash with 8.0 and can mine ethereum with claymore 7.4

Ever thought about the fact that perhaps a more efficient miner stresses the gpu more?

In other words, a shitty miner will only stress the gpu a little bit, the gpu will be able to retain higher clocks without any issues, simply because it's not being utilized like it "should"..

Then there's the modified straps story.. These days, with tools like polarisbioseditor it's easy for beginners to open up their rom, copy some straps, reflash.
But what most of you guys don't seem to realize is the fact that this has an enormous effect on your gpu. Duh :p
Lower straps will stress your gpu once again a lot more. This in combination with a more efficient miner and high clocks will most probably crash your GPU/System/Driver.

So.. by simply lowering your clocks, you will solve a lot of these "mysteries"..

It's nice to know exactly "what" you're doing and to understand what is exactly happening when you're "mining".. isn't it?

I have my nano's running with a custom timing which also improves quite a bit.

Due to the work that i have already put into all of this, i'm not going to release this for free.

I will however release other things in the future Smiley
