Hello, a warm welcome for your co-beginner of this forum Grin, there are many things that we can learn from joing on this forum, just read understand first the rules of the forum given by @Tim-Charles, whenever we join any forum we should start first on reading the rules so we can avoid the things that are prohibited in the forum, skipping the forum's rule can lead to making mistakes. It is something that we can relate to our real-life whenever we play any sports game like basketball, if we don't know the house's rules then we can create so many violations.

283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ransomware: How to avoid CYBORG ransomware. on: October 08, 2020, 02:28:50 PM
Thank you for this information mate, it would be a big help for every newbie like me to be careful about some activities we are doing online. You really need to be careful especially when you have important data in your device because the virus is always there and hackers are always there as well trying to gain an advantage over you. If you won't be careful and you don't secure very well your device then it will be a big loss for you.

One thing that hooked me is that why they have a fixed ransom which is $300 only for decryption, well in fact they can make it more especially if they get very controversial information on a company, business, and person.
How to protect yourself from a ransomware
1. Suspicious and irrelevant emails should not be opened.
2. Use official and verified download channels
3. Software should be updated with functions/tools provided by legitimate developers.
4. Have a reputable anti-virus/anti-spyware suite installed and kept up-to-date.
We can also don't forget the most important things on how can we avoid this ransomware. Always back up your files so whenever you received ransomware like that, you won't panic because you have the backup.

285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be useful to the forum ? on: October 08, 2020, 06:47:51 AM
Being a useful member of this forum shows that you are really contributing well information here, there are many members here that can be considered useful because of the topics and content that have shared with all of us. I really love reading good content because it makes me help to understand more about the crypto world which is one of my reason for joining this forum. For beginners also be a useful member as long as they are following the rules and they are also contributing information here.
• Even though I read a lot of topics, I am unable to answer them, since either they have already been answered or that I don't have enough knowledge about the subject being discussed.
We can also add some additional information to the replies of the members, example when we read a topic and then we also read a comment the same of what we are talking about, we can quote it and add some additional information or there is some information that we do not agree, we can criticize it and give suggestions.
286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and how to rank up easily on: October 08, 2020, 02:01:37 AM
There are many people who say that creating quality posts makes you receive merits and there are also some who says that this is common advice for every beginner, I don't get some member who seems like they don't agree on some members with low rank who posted the advise even though they are saying gold things, not just because the member is low rank it doesn't mean that they don't have good things to say. It is the knowledge that they have and not the rank they have with this forum. ccontribute, let us respect each and every one no matter what ranks they have.
287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to become a good member of this forum. on: October 07, 2020, 09:47:32 AM
Good member here will talk about bitcoin. It is bitcointalk.

I don't see a single word for Bitcoin in your post.  Huh

Merit appear few times in his post. I confused that I am reading a post in meritalk.  Grin
Do I really need to include the word "bitcoin" in any posts that I am going to create even though I am not talking about it? Please bear with me, I am still a newbie.
I don't use any bitcoin because it talks about the forum and you cannot see any bitcointalk because I used the word forum.
288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Become a good member of this forum. on: October 07, 2020, 06:24:08 AM
I am not telling you guys that you should do what I posted above, it is just my way to become a good member of this forum just like some other good member of this forum. It just popped up on my mind upon reading some good topics and visiting some members with a good reputation.

Anyway, thank you for your good luck.
What he wanted to say (at least that's how I understood it) is that it will always look a bit suspicious when a brand new account made approximately 24 hours ago starts giving advice how to be a good forum member, or how good member should behave. I don't say that's the case here, but such threads coming from a new accounts might look like merit fishing, as they tend to write obvious things that people like to hear.

Some of the stuff you wrote is not bad, but I would add that people shouldn't see this forum as a workplace (and many do), you should simply be yourself and that's it, do what pleases you. Newbies tend to try too hard, appear more knowledgeable than they really are so they plagiarize and do other stupid things.
Again, I don't giving any advice because I know that I am a newbie and I am the one who needed it, I just posted the things that should I do to be good here.

I will never plagiarize any content because it is written in the rules of the forum and plagiarizing will result in getting banned of the account which I don't want to happen to me,
Hi ive saw your post. It seems you are learning on a good track. See also that you already made a signed address thats good for newbies to start their jouriney here.

Not all newbie start with those important task instead lurking on the bounty section and submit a Proof of authentication post on their target bounty. I give you merit cause your post are not shabby and also I admired low ranks that keeping a good standing. Anyway, just continue and dont be swayed by negative thoughts about you. Considered it as advise and learn from it. Goodluck with your future endeavors.
Thank you sir, your words make me happy. I also feel that I am in a good forum because of such quality posts that I have read, those are really different from other forum.

It's funny how new accounts come and tell you to be a good member. I'm not saying it's bad of OP posting this info, it's just doesn't make any sense at all.
Just my POV, yours can be different.

Good Luck OP.

290  Other / Beginners & Help / I want to become a good member of this forum. on: October 07, 2020, 05:19:11 AM
There are many things that we can do for us to become a good member of the forum, we have different styles and techniques to become useful, I have read some topics here in this beginners&help section, I can say that most of the topics here are so helpful for every beginner of the forum and I notice that whenever a topic is really good and useful it receives many merits maybe it is because of the effort, time and for helping other members of the forum, therefore I conclude that whenever a member has many merits, he also contributed many good topics and content as well, just correct me if I am wrong with this. I also amazed for those members that have huge merits that are not too far with the number of posts they have and I realized that it seems like a great feeling being like them, I also want to be like those members with good numbers of merits and here are the things that I am thinking to be like them and to be useful.

I should do these things:
1. Be consistent - consistent in a way that you are consistent with creating good topics, consistent in a way that you are doing the right thing to do here.

2. Be active - the more you active in the forum, the more the knowledge that you can acquire which can help you to become a good bitcoiner and a useful member of the forum.

3. Create a motivation - set a goal and make it as your motivation, you may also consider some members with a good reputation as your idol and be like them.

4. Build a strong dedication for the forum - whenever we are working, we should also be dedicated, we should sink it in our mind that we are responsible for the things that will make our work better,

5. Be comfortable - it is hard for us to work in a certain place when we are not comfortable on it, so the question is how can we become comfortable in this forum.

5.1. Obey the rules of the forum, if we know the rules of the forum then we won't hesitate if we are doing the right thing or not.

5.2 Be professional, set aside your problem, and focus on what you are doing here.

5.3 Don't forget to reward yourself when you achieve something from this forum.

5.4 Acknowledge every simple things around you.

6. Ask for help - asking for help is normal, we really need to ask for help whenever we want to know something, do not let it dies on your mind. We are free to ask and for sure we have many good members here who can help us with the things we want to know.
291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice or Help Plan for newbies on: October 07, 2020, 02:35:36 AM
If you dint have the money yet to invest, then you should focus first on this forum, this forum gives us many opportunities to have money and to gain knowledge as well.
1. You can rank up first and join some signature campaign or bounties.
2. You may also try some services https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Just focus first on gaining knowledge in this forum because knowledge is the key to success, if you are only looking for money, success won't be on your side quickly.
Thank you for the links, I dont think that there are many ways for us to earn here unlike to other forums. As of now I dont still have any opportunities to earn becsuse of my rank, I will work hard here and keep on learning os I can use it for the future. Ranking up is a really good feeling, it will give a member a motivation to work hard and to rank up again.

I know that if you don't have good knowledge then probably there are many things that will be wasted because you don't know how can you try it or you are going to deal with it. Knowledge would be our key to success because knowledge is for long term and there are many things that we can do with proper knowledge.

I wonder if a newbie member can join some services offered by some members of this forum  Roll Eyes.
292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Scams & Our Roles. on: October 07, 2020, 01:28:56 AM
Crypto scam is common in the crypto world because there are many scammers and hackers who will try their best to access some of your wallets and steal all of your funds. You will be the victim once you didn't fully secure your wallet. We are responsible for our own wallet, we should know that there is a big possibility that we may lose our money because of hackers so we should make something to avoid it. Just like what others say.

1. We should secure our wallet, we may use 2FA.
2. Think before you click, do not ever try to visit an unsecured website.
3. Do not fall for fake websites, there are many fake websites, fake investment websites specifically, do not trust the website saying that they give 100% return for only a few days, there is no legit investment website that will double your money.
4. Do not input your personal information to any website you don't trust.
5. If you have a doubt, then you shouldn't try it.
6. Do not be greedy, success takes a lot of time.
293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk or Cryptotalk? What is the best forum for a beginner? on: October 06, 2020, 02:39:02 PM
I am a member of cryptotalk forum, I created also a topic about my observation about the bitcointalk and cryptotalk, and based on some of the replies that I received on my topic, all of them are into this forum because of the quality information that we can learn and read here unlike to the cryptotalk.

Nice having you here mate, here's the catch, cryptotalk and the only forum you see, are all copycat of the bitcointalk community, none would be as successful as bitcointalk has become. I'm not wishing for their downfall but the way the forum is been run matters alot. At some point they all had to focus their advertisment on this forum to draw members to theirs. Bitcointalk was created with the intention of having a platform were like-minded individuals can communicate and probably pass on wisdom and guide to the new generation.

I joined cryptotalk on June 2020 and knowledge most 4 months but I dont get any quality information there that I can use in the world of cryptocurrency because most of the topics that we can see there is not that too much related about cryptocurrency and blockchain. Even though there are also many members of the cryptotalk, I still dont see any success with that forum unless they will cha ge the rules about creating a topic. They should move all the topics to the "off topic" section to make it more organized.

Even though I am a beginner from this forum, I can say that this is much better than cryptotalk based on some topics that I have read here. There are many useful knowldge that I can acquire here that will help me to become more knowledgeable about the world of crypto.

Thank you for the clarification mate, It seems like bitcointalk is the original one among all those forum, I am trusting you mate because as what I have seen on some profile, there are many other members who were registered in the year of 2016, I don't know yet when this forum started, crypto talk is still new, it was the started the year 2019 and that forum requires many things to adapt and to change before it became a good forum lime his as you said.

Hello, a warm welcome for you to the forum, I am also a member of cryptotalk, I think this is the topic that you have seen about bitcoin talk and crypto talk https://cryptotalk.org/topic/109555-things-you-need-to-know-about-cryptotalk-and-bitcointalk/

It is good that you join this forum for gaining knowledge, as what my experience in cryptotalk, most of the member there are looking for money so they choose to stay on that forum because they can earn money even though they are still a beginner but you know what that money that they can earn won't help them to become better in the world of cryptocurrency because you are right that most of the topic there is not well related to the cryptocurrency. It seems like they are just creating topics for them to have additional payment.

You may also read this thread, it will help you to understand more the forum:
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
Newbies - Read before posting

Yeah, that is the topic that I am talking about.

Earning a bit of money than learning good knowledge is not worth it so, I decided to join this forum because I know that I can learn better here than cryptotralk.

Thank you for the link, there are some rules that are the same as the rules of the cryptotalk. I will follow all those rules to avoid getting banned and committing mistakes. I am also following the rules of the cryptottalk forum so I can say that I can follow the rules of this forum as well.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Newbie's observation. on: October 06, 2020, 06:32:50 AM
Hello everyone!

I came from the cryptotalk forum and then I suddenly read a topic talking about cryptotalk and bitcointalk, they just compared both forums and I became interested in this forum based on how they described it.

They keep on saying that they prefer cryptotalk than bitcointalk because it seems so hard to rank up and earn money from this forum but some say that it is better than cryptotalk because it has more quality posts and you may learn more things about cryptocurrency.

Upon checking some topics here in this section "beginners&help", I can say that this is much better than cryptotalk because it talks too much about cryptocurrency and it gives more knowledge about any related to cryptocurrency like, fake website, scamming, phishing, and tips on how can I avoid it which is really helpful for me because I never saw this kind of topic in cryptotalk ever. Most of the topics that are written in " beginners&help" in the cryptottalk talk about life advice which is somehow not related to the crypto world.

I am just so glad because I enter this forum, it seems like I will learn a lot of things here about cryptocurrency which is what I am looking for in a forum.

Things are getting worse because of the pandemic and I want to use my free time to learn many things about cryptocurrency, I am expecting that I will have good knowledge and experience with this forum.
