What is it about the internet that brings out such hostility? Winklecoin was an April Fools joke - you could send any amount of coin and get the Winklecoin email, and if you accidentally sent more than you wanted to, just email us and we'll refund it. Chill pill, guys.
Our next project will be to build an exchange which converts Winklecoin into Senses of Humor.

Nice announcement. But I have asked you two times the same question, and two times you have ignored it. On your blog, your write: "...the mystery creator behind Swiss-based ShapeShift is Erik Voorhees, formerly CEO of Coinapult and creator of SatoshiDICE." Now in the story you are linking one can read: "...said Erik Voorhees, ShapeShift CEO, in a written statement to Bitcoin Magazine" Okay then. You claim to be a Swiss company. However, no company by the name "Shapeshift" is registered anywhere in Switzerland. So you are not a Swiss company. Further, if Erik Voorhees is your CEO, he is responsible for the operations and therefore should be registered for a Swiss company with his signatory power. However, no person by the name "Erik Voorhees" can be found as having signatory power for a company in Switzerland. So why should a user send you coins for exchanging if such basic facts you are posting seem to be a blatant lie? Where is your "swiss company" located at? We are a Swiss Ag corporation (as opposed to Gmbh) under the name "ShapeShift Ag". I'm not sure if Ag corporations can be found in the public directory (unlike Gmbh). We'd be interested to know if there is a directory that ShapeShift Ag is listed in as well - we're not aware of any. Both an AG as a GmbH have to be listed in Switzerland. Therefore, you can search for all corporations in the central registry. You find it here: zefix.ch All corporations can be found there. Cancelled names are as well included as former versions. However, no company by the name "ShapeShift" is in this registry. You are sure you mean Switzerland and not Sweden... well, hold on: The only corporation in Europe by the name "ShapeShift" was registered in Bulgaria Hungary (SHAPESHIFT Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Betéti Társaság) - in August 2000. And it hasn't anything to do with Bitcoins. So where's your company? --Edit-- Shapeshift claimed that it was established in Switzerland in August 2014. So if this company would exist, it would be found in the registry. I would say that the company is as fake as the name originally used by its founder. |

Appears you have no CLAMS to sell and aren't buying CLAMS either?
Poloniex's CLAM wallet has been down for hours. I don't know what ShapeShift.io uses to buy and sell CLAM, but if they have a dependency on Poloniex then that might explain why they aren't able to buy or sell CLAM at the moment. It should be all fine now, CLAMS orders have been processing on ShapeShift |

I'm developing some software around the ShapeShift.io service and would like to be able to programatically convert coins from one type to another. I don't see a way to get a deposit address from your API. Any chance of this being implemented?
Hi Cypherpunk38 - this is actually in our API already ( https://shapeshift.io/api.html#shift-conduit), you would use the following call for a normal conduit which would let you generate a deposit address: url: shapeshift.io/shift method: POST data type: JSON data required: withdrawal = the address for resulting coin to be sent to pair = what coins are being exchanged in the form <input coin>_<output coin> ie btc_ltc returnAddress = (Optional) address to return deposit to if anything goes wrong with exchange destTag = (Optional) Destination tag that you want appended to a Ripple payment to you rsAddress = (Optional) For new NXT accounts to be funded, you supply this on NXT payment to you apiKey = (Optional) Your affiliate PUBLIC KEY, for volume tracking, affiliate payments, split-shifts, etc... example data: {"withdrawal":"AAAAAAAAAAAAA", "pair":"btc_ltc", returnAddress:"BBBBBBBBBBB"} Success Output: { deposit: <Deposit Address (or memo field if input coin is BTS / BITUSD)>, depositType: <Deposit Type (input coin symbol)>, withdrawal: <Withdrawal Address>, //-- will match address submitted in post withdrawalType: <Withdrawal Type (output coin symbol)>, public: <NXT RS-Address pubkey (if input coin is NXT)>, xrpDestTag : <xrpDestTag (if input coin is XRP)>, apiPubKey: <public API attached to this shift, if one was given> } Let us know if you have any questions on this but it should be what you are looking for. One more thing to note, if your wallet is note synced, that right there is probably the issue. If you get that synced and there are not other issues, like your transaction having failed, then you will see your exchange in your wallet. Please do let us know, though.

Hi, there. We would be happy to help you with your issues. When exchanges fail, our policy is to always refund the customer. Will you please email emily@shapeshift.io and I will help you asap. Please provide your txid or deposit address so we can look into your exchange. More than likely your exchange failed, because if your transaction is "awaiting exchange" it does not matter if your page refreshes or your internet were to cut out. It will still finish the exchange. We will get your fixed and on to new exchanges asap just shoot Emily an email. |
